They all immediately started taking action. Catherine took out her phone and walked out of the room, Stan started undoing the cuffs on my wrists, and Matthew stood back and studied me. Stan helped me up, and motioned for Matthew to move. He did, and Stan helped me out of the room and into another one, that turned out to be a bathroom. He told me to clean myself up and wear the clothes that were by the sink. Then, he turned around, walked out and closed the door behind him.
I walked over to the mirror and was shocked at the person staring back at me. She couldn't be me because she was too small. I noticed that the place where Catherine had shot me in the arm was already healed, so I walked over to the shower and turned it on. When I was done, I walked over to the sink and picked up the clothes. There was a pair of dark blue jeans, a sports bra, a gray tank top and V-neck shirt on top of it along with another pair of underwear, socks, and tennis shoes. I put the outfit on, brushed my hair, and looked at myself in the mirror. I looked... better I guess.
I walked out of the bathroom, and down the hall. I ended up in a dining room kitchen area with the three of them sitting at the table, discussing things. Matthew was the first to notice me. He nudged Catherine, who stopped talking and looked at me. Catherine noticed my knee and wrist and swore at herself.
"We'll need to get those fixed. Casts will not work, maybe... braces?" She said.
"Those'll work, I might be able to give her knee stitches if she needs them," Matthew said, looking at Catherine.
"Yes, do that." She replied.
They motioned for me to go over and sit with them. I rolled the leg up to my knee and let him look at it. It didn't look bad, but he still insisted on giving it stitches and re-wrapping it. As he was doing that, Stan was in the kitchen, making sandwiches. He walked out and put the plate down in front of us. They all took one and motioned for me to take the last one. I did and ate it. Then, Catherine sent Stan into the nearest town to get a wrist brace. As he was leaving, Catherine and Matthew got up and walked into another room, the living room. It was covered in papers and maps, there were bulletin boards and white boards on wheels with writing and photos on them.
"Instead of coming back here, go to this one instead." She said while pointing at a map."We'll meet up with you later after our business is done here."
"Alright," Stan said. Then he turned, grabbed some keys off of the table and walked out of the door.
"Well, Cammie, although you have joined, you still have to gain our trust, so, will you please go back to your room while we talk? We'll call you back out when Stan gets back." Catherine said.
"Sure." I replied, and walked away.
I could feel them watching me until I turned the corner. Since I didn't know where my room was, I started tracing my steps. I found the bathroom, then the 'interrogation' room, then kept going back until I found my room. I walked in and looked around. I saw a bed and a desk with no drawers. I sat down at the desk, pulled out a piece of paper and a pencil, and started to draw. I was almost done drawing the Gallagher Academy, I heard a knock on the door. I stood up and opened the door to Matthew.
"If you have to go to the bathroom, do it now, we're not stopping, then meet us in the living room." He said.
"Alright." I replied.
He turned and walked back towards the living room. I went back to the desk and folded my drawing into my pocket, then I went to the bathroom. I closed the door and walked over to the mirror.
"What are you getting yourself into?" I asked myself.
I finished going to the bathroom and walked back out to the living room. Matthew and Catherine were there, looking at a map. I cleared my throat.
"Oh! Cameron, you scared me!" Catherine said, turning to look at me.
"Alright, she's ready, let's go." Matthew said, taking some of the documents with writing down and stuffing them into a backpack. I walked over to the door and waited. When he was finished, he walked over and took my arm and led me out of the door. I looked over to see Catherine take a body out of a car's trunk and walk back into the house with it. She walked back out, holding an empty gas can and a matchbook. She lit a flame, and dropped it on the trail of gas, igniting the path, and, eventually, the house. She walked over to the car and got in. Matthew walked over to the same car and opened the backseat door for me and motioned for me to get in. I did, and he closed the door. Then, he walked to the driver's side, got in, started it, and drove away.
We drove down the driveway, and took a left and drove into a town called Shawsville. (A/N I looked on google maps and chose a random town in Virginia) We ended up passing multiple ambulances, firetrucks, and police cars on our trip through the town and past it. We took an exit and entered onto an interstate. We finally left the interstate and drove through another small town called (A/N again, random town) Elliston. We pulled up to a cabin with another truck in the driveway at around 8:45 P.M. Matthew got out and walked into the house, while Catherine got out and opened my door for me. We walked into the cabin and saw Stan sitting on the couch, watching the news.
"Shawsville Fire department stopped a potential forest fire today after battling a cabin fire that spread to some nearby trees. Upon investigation, they found that the cabin had been set ablaze on purpose, the arsonist had used gasoline and a match to light the cabin on fire, with someone still inside. They brought the person to the Shawsville hospital, but they were pronounced dead on arrival. The person was said to be about 5 feet 5 inches, and have short, brown hair." The news anchor said.
"Now, let's hope that they don't dig up the other person." Matthew said.
Catherine closed the door behind us, and walked over to the coffee table to pick up the wrist brace. She walked back over to me, held my arm with one hand and put the brace on with the other, then tightened the straps. Then, she sent me to a room to get some sleep.
"Get some sleep Cameron, your training starts tomorrow at 6:45 A.M. sharp." Catherine said. "I'll leave some clothes for you to wear in the dresser."
I nodded, and walked into the room. Took off my shoes, changed into some sweat pants and a t-shirt that were already in the dresser, and curled up to start falling asleep; as I was, I could hear a muffled conversation between the three of them.
"Do you think that she really meant it, or was she just bluffing?" Stan asked.
"If she was, we'll find out tomorrow." Matthew replied.
"I'll take the first shift, you two, get some sleep." Catherine ordered.
I heard footsteps cross the floor, and the shadows under the door. Two doors open and close, and the light switches click twice. I could also hear the television volume lower and the lights click off in the kitchen and living room, then the blinds ruffle, as if Catherine was lifting one shade and looking out across the yard and trees. Then, my consciousness slipped, and I fell into a fitful sleep.
