Heiiiaaaa, look who's here with a new chapter ;) Here's The Doctor Dances part 1
Lilo was pretty sure that was the way his life was going to end, by the hand of the gas mask people. However, that was when the Doctor looked sternly at them and said equally sternly; "Go to your room!" Lilo stared at the Doctor for his sudden outburst, but it seemed like it had an effect on the gas mask people as they hesitated. The Doctor saw this as well and was much more sure of himself when he said once again; "Go to your room!" the action caused the gas mask people to tilt their head to one side looking at the Doctor. Rose and Jack looked at one another, equally confused to the gas mask people's reaction.
"I mean it! I am very, very angry with you. I am very, very cross! Go. To. Your. Room!" The Doctor pointed violently in no particular direction, and miraculously, all the gas mask people turned meekly away. The patients and staff climbed back onto their beds. The Doctor sighed in relief. "I'm really glad that worked. Those would've been terrible last words" the Doctor deadpanned. Lilo chuckled silently at the remark and said to Jack I don't think Dumbo has any idea what he's doing, but I guess Tar's right, he do it brilliantly and walked off towards a bed. Jack was still in shock from his near death experience and looked at Lilo and the Doctor in disbelief. They were so calm.
Rose sat by one of the beds, looking at one of the gas mask people. Jack settled down in a chair, still shaken up. "Why are they all wearing gas masks?" Rose wondered. Jack looked grimly at the patients. "They're not. Those masks are flesh and bone." Jack voiced the horrifying fact that Lilo and the Doctor had figured out earlier. "How was your con supposed to work?" the Doctor asked jack.
"Simple enough, really. Find some harmless piece of space-junk… let the nearest Time Agent track it back to Earth. Convince him it's valuable, name a price. When he's put 50% up front – oops! A German bomb falls on it, destroys it forever. He never gets to see what he's paid for. Never knows he's been had. I buy him a drink with his own money, and discuss dumb luck. The perfect self-cleaning con."
"Yeah. Perfect" The Doctor remarked sarcastic. Jack didn't notice his disapproval and continued his explanation. "The London Blitz is great for self-cleaners – Pompeii's nice if you want to make a vacation out of it though, but you've got to set your alarm for volcano day." Jack laughed at his own joke, but his laughter quickly died down when he saw the disapproving look he was getting from the three others. Even Lilo was looking at him with a stern look, but he had a feeling that jack didn't do it all for pleasure, and he knew better than to judge someone without all the facts.
"Getting a hint of disapproval." Jack said trying to break the tension. The Doctor however was not in the mood. "Take a look around the room. This is what your 'harmless piece of space-junk' did." The Doctor stated. "It was a burnt-out medical transporter – it was empty" Jack said in denial. The Doctor just looked at him darkly before walking off. "Rose, Lilo" He called. "We're getting out of here?" Rose asked with a hint of hope in her voice. It was obvious that she wanted to get as far away from the scary gas mask people as possible. "We're going upstairs" he responded. Rose followed him. Lilo walked slowly after them but didn't want to leave Jack alone with the gas mask people. Are you coming? He said silently to his new friend. Jack got up from his chair and called after the Doctor. "I even programed the flight computer so it wouldn't land on anything living – I harmed no-one! I don't know what's happening here, but believe me – I had nothing to do with it." The Doctor looked at him with an angry and dark look. I'll tell you what's happening. You forgot to set your alarm clock. It's volcano day."
A siren went off in the distance. Rose and Lilo looked around warily at the sound while the Doctor and Jack seemed familiar with it. What's that? "What's that?" Rose and Lilo asked at the same time. "The all-clear" Jack said. "I wish" the Doctor muttered before leaving the ward. The rest of them followed him but the Doctor disappeared ahead.
Rose, Jack and Lilo ran down a corridor looking for the Doctor. Jack called out "Mister Spock?" causing Lilo to giggle. You know, he's not called mister Spock, he calls himself the Doctor, but Tar calls him Thief, I call him Dumbo, so I guess you can call him mister Spock. Lilo rambled. Jack looked at him in confusion. "Well which one is it?" He said, amused with all the names he provided, but at the same time wondering about whom this Tar person Lilo had mentioned several times were. The Doctor. Lilo clarified. Jack was about to call out the new name, but Rose beat him to it. "Doctor?" she called. They dashed past a flight of stairs.
The Doctor popped his head around the banister. "Have you got a blaster?" The Doctor called out after them. Rose and Jack skidded to a halt and backtracked. Standing beside the Doctor was Lilo, who had stopped beside him after getting his scent. "Sure!" Jack said and they ran up the stairs and found themselves standing outside a door. "The night your space-junk landed, someone was hurt. This was where they were taken." The Doctor informed them. "What happened?" Rose asked. "Let's find out." He said and turned to Jack. "Get it open" Jack grinned and pointed a blaster at the door. The Doctor stood back, beside Rose and Lilo. "What' wrong with your sonic screwdriver?" Rose whispered. "Nothing" the Doctor responded in a quite voice. Lilo chuckled slightly at the Doctor.
Jack's blaster cut a perfectly square hole around the lock of the door and it squeaked open. "Sonic blaster, 51st century. Weapon Factories of Villengard" The Doctor said somewhat smugly. "You've been to the factories?" Jack asked, happy that the man seemed more pleased than he'd been before. The Doctor took the blaster from Jack for a look. "Once," he said, while he looked over the blaster. "Well, they're gone now. Destroyed. The main reactor went critical. Vaporized the lot." Jack informed. The Doctor gave the blaster back to Jack. "Like I said – once. There's a banana grove there, now. I like bananas. Bananas are good." The Doctor smiled pleasantly at Jack and entered the room. He totally blew up that factory. Lilo chuckled while Jack looked at him strangely.
Rose went up to Jack and looked at the perfectly squared hole. "Nice blast pattern." she complimented. "Digital." Jack informed, amused by her remark. "Squareness gun." Rose said impressed. Lilo Looked between the two of them, is this flirting? I can't stand it when people flirt. He said silently to Jack. "Yeah" Jack said to Rose ignoring Lilo's remark. "I like it" she approved and went into the room after the Doctor. Lilo sighed at the interaction, rolled his eyes and he went after Rose. Jack laughed and followed them into the room.
The Doctor switched a light on. The room looked as though it had been vandalised. The window was broken and there was stuff all over the floor. "What do you think?" the Doctor asked Jack. "Something got out of here…" Jack looked around the room for clues. "Yeah, and?" The Doctor pushed. "Something powerful, angry" Jack remarked. "Powerful and angry," The Doctor repeated. Jack entered a room off the side. The floors and walls were covered with a child's drawings. There were a few toys on the floor and a little bed in the corner. "A child? I suppose this explains 'mummy'" Jack concluded. Rose looked around the vandalised room, confused. "How could a child do this?" she said in disbelief. Lilo looked around the room sadly; he could only imagine how sacred the child would have been. It must have been so traumatized that the only thing it could do was look for it's mum.
The Doctor played a tape of Doctor Constantine talking to the Child. "Do you know where you are?" Constantine said on the tape. "Are you my mummy?" the child asked as he had done when the Doctor had seen him earlier. "Are you aware of what's around you? Can you… see?" Constantine asked the child. "Are you my mummy?" the child continued. Lilo looked at the tape warily, it seemed as though the child was unaware of anyone around him. "What do you want? Do you know—" Constantine was cut of by the child "I want my mummy. Are you my mummy? I want my mummy! Are you my mummy?" Lilo looked at the drawings covering the walls. All of them were of the child's mother. "Are you my mummy? Mummy? Mummy?" the child's voice continued. "Doctor, I've heard this voice before" Rose said as she remembered the child she had followed earlier. "Me too." The Doctor said distantly in deep thought.
"Mummy?" "Always, 'are you my mummy?' like he doesn't know." Rose remarked. "Mummy?" "Why doesn't he know?" Rose pondered feeling sorry for the child. "Are you there, mummy? Mummy?" Lilo looked around the room, he felt like something was different. Like there was something coming out of the walls. The room was eerie and scary. Lilo looked over to the tape when he heard the reels of the tape spin. "Mummy? Please, mummy? Mummy?" Lilo still heard the child even though the tape had run out. Jack he called. Jack looked over to Lilo, it was obvious that Lilo was scared, his tail was between his legs and his ears were backwards. What's wrong? Jack said silently, not wanting the Doctor and Rose's attention just yet. He didn't want to make the dog more uncomfortable than he already was. Something's here Lilo said rather ominously. The Doctor paced around the room. "Doctor?" Rose said concerned. "Can you sense it?" The Doctor asked. Yeah. Lilo remarked. "Sense what?" Jack asked looking between the Time Lord and the dog. "Coming out of the walls, can you feel it?" the Doctor asked. "Mummy?" the child said once again. It seemed as this was what the Doctor needed to solve the puzzle as he stopped to look around at the Rose, Jack and Lilo. That's when he noticed how uncomfortable the dog was. Lilo hadn't been that uncomfortable when Constantine had died or when the gas mask people had advanced towards them. The Doctor knew that Lilo sensed what he did. Lilo nodded, when he figured out why the Doctor was staring at him.
"Funny little human brains, how do you get around in those things?" the Doctor said stressed out, as he tried to figure out what was happening. "When he's stressed, he likes to insult species" Rose said to Jack. "Rose, I'm thinking" the Doctor paced around the room. "Cuts himself shaving, does half an hour in life forms he's cleverer than…" Rose said with a small smile. "There are these children living rough around the bomb site. They come out during air-raids looking for food" the Doctor rambled. "Mummy, please?" "Suppose they were there when this thing – whatever it was – landed?" the Doctor continued. "It was a med-ship. It was harmless." Jack said, but it sounded more like he was trying to convince himself than the Doctor. "Yes, you keep saying that. 'Harmless'. Suppose one of them was affected – altered?" the Doctor tried to get the others to understand. "Altered how?" Rose frowned. "I'm here!" "It's afraid. Terribly afraid, and powerful. It doesn't know it yet, but it will do." The Doctor laughed nervously. "It's got the power of a god, and I just sent it to its room."
Lilo was watching the child in the back of the room, since it had entered the room earlier. He just had to do that, didn't he? Lilo remarked drily. There was a loud, crackling noise that filled the room. "Doctor..." Rose said scared. "I'm here. Can't you see me?" the child remarked almost sounding smug. Lilo stared at the child, ready to shield the humans and the Doctor from an attack. "What's that noise?" Rose continued. The Doctor's smile faded when he realized what was happening. "End of the tape. It ran out about 30 seconds ago," Lilo chuckled nervously, more like two minutes ago. Jack turned around towards Lilo to see him standing in front of the child watching it warily. He was about to warn the Doctor when Lilo stopped him. No need, he figured it out. "I'm here, now. Can't you see me?" the child said. "I sent it to its room. This is its room." The Doctor realized as he spun around and saw the child standing by the tape machine. "Are you my mummy?" the child asked, cocking his head on one side as if he was considering Rose. "Mummy?" he said hopeful. "Doctor…" Rose said warily. "Okay… on my signal… make for the door… now!" Jack shouted and violently pulled out a banana from his pocket and pointed it threateningly at the child. The Doctor grinned and pulled out Jack's sonic blaster from his pocket and blasted a square hole in the wall. "Go! Now! Don't drop the banana!" the Doctor ordered. Jack hopped through the hole in the wall with the Doctor and Rose. "Lilo, come on!" the Doctor shouted when he saw Lilo frozen in his spot in front of the child. Lilo snapped out of it and jumped through the wall after them. "Why not?" Jack frowned at the banana. "Good source of potassium!" the Doctor grinned.
The four of them found themselves back in the corridor. The child approached them ominously from inside the room. "Gimme me that!" Jack yelled at the Doctor and grabbed his sonic blaster off the Doctor. "Are you my mummy?" the child repeated. Jack pointed the blaster at the wall; it rebuilt itself, leaving the child blocked out.
"Digital rewind." Jack explained and tossed the banana back to the Doctor. "Nice switch." He remarked, as he hadn't noticed that the Doctor had switched the blaster with a banana. "It's from the Groves of Villengard. I thought it was appropriate." The Doctor said smugly. "There's really a banana grove in the heart of Villengard and you did that?" Jack looked at the Doctor incredulously. The Doctor shrugged and said, "Bananas are good." Lilo chuckled and said silently to Jack; Hah, I knew it. Jack opened his mouth to say something when the Child started to thump on the wall from the other side. The wall cracked. "Doctor!" Rose yelled scared. "Come on!" he said and they all rushed down a short flight of stairs. They ran down another corridor, before they encountered all the patients bursting out of the ward, all the patients called out "mummy". They hastily backtracked only to find gas mask people coming from that direction too. They found themselves at the same place where they had started, where the child was breaking through the wall.
"It's keeping us here so it can get at us" The Doctor realized, unsure what to do. Jack pointed the blaster in each direction at the gas mask people. "It's controlling them?" Jack asked. "It is them; it's every living thing in this hospital." The Doctor clarified. Jack looked around nervously. "Okay. This can function as a sonic blaster, a sonic cannon, and a triple-enfolded sonic disrupter. Doc, what've you got?" Jack asked as the Doctor pulled out his sonic screwdriver. Jack didn't notice, as he was too busy keeping the gas mask people away with his blaster. "A sonic, er… oh, never mind" the Doctor said meekly. "What?" Jack said. The Doctor turned to face the other group of gas mask people and switched the sonic screwdriver on. "It's sonic, okay? Let's just it at that." Lilo stared at the two of them, in disbelief. "Disrupter? Cannon? What?" Jack pushed. "It's sonic! Totally sonic! I am soniced up!" the Doctor refused to answer. For Pete's sake, t's a screwdriver. Jack smiled but continued to pus for an answer wanting to hear the Doctor say it. "A sonic what?!" he yelled. "Screwdriver!" the Doctor yelled.
Jack spun around as the child finally broke through the wall and started to climb through the hole. Rose grabbed onto Jack's wrist and made him point the sonic blaster at the floor. "Going down!" She informed them and blasted a hole in the floor. Lilo's eyes widened as the floor disappeared under him. They fell in a messy heap on the floor of the ward below and Lilo was knocked unconscious.
A/N yay, I love Jack. This story has over 600 views, woohoo, that's awesome! It was brought to my attention that there is a lot is grammatical mistakes in this story, I'm sorry about that. I might have forgotten to mention that English is not my first language and that I'm only fifteen. I'll try and figure out how to get a beta so that the errors can be corrected ;) don't you just love cliffhangers? Till the next time.
