So last chapter we found out that everyone wound up in a Pokemon Village in the Dust Forest. Well let's get to this chapter maybe you guys will like it.

The sun rose in the east casting a warm glow upon the forest and amongst the buildings of the ruined village. As the trails of the sun grew longer the Pokemon of the village began to wake from their slumber. Within the largest building, which was up on a hill, in a room that was located up a set of stairs a Delphox yawned as she awoke from her sleep. With her a Fennekin awoke as well and stretched tiredly before looking around and smiling at her mother.

"Morning mamma." The fennekin said happily as she leaped onto her mother's chest with a joyful smile.

"Morning Yuna." The Delphox said just as happily before getting up while holding her daughter. I wonder how our guests are doing this morning... The Delphox thought to herself as she walked out of her's and her daughter's room. She walked down the hall to where their guests were. The two humans were still laying on the ground but the Absol was slowly waking up.

The Absol let out a tired yawn as she opened her eyes and looked at her surroundings. As she looked she noticed that she was laying next to Zaine and she swiftly rose up to a sitting position. She stayed sitting and looked down at Zaine's sleeping form and wondered if he was alright.

"Ah you're awake now. Good morning to you." The Delphox said, which startled the Absol who was swiftly standing on her feet and in a defensive stance.

"Peace I mean no harm. In fact it was me and Rorik who saved your friends." The Delphox said, "My name is Grace by the way."

The Absol visibly relaxed and sat back down on the ground but was still wary of what was going on. "My name is Laura. Can you tell me what happened?" Laura asked

"Pleased to meet you Laura. As for what happened well your friends were running from a Houndoom and wound up rolling down a steep hill that injured them pretty badly. Had it not been for me and Rorik to prevent them from impacting the ground at the base of the cliff then they would not be alive right now." Grace said calmly

"I see." Laura said.

"Might I ask what the names are of your friends?" Grace asked just as the fennekin in her arms leaped down and bounded towards Laura who looked at the small fox like pokemon and only smiled at the child.

"Hi!" The fennekin said with a broad smile. "My name's Yuna."

Laura smiled more and shook her head slightly, "Pleased to meet you Yuna." Laura said before looking up at the Delphox, "Well their names... Zaine is my Trainer," She looked at the Trainer who she was sitting beside. "His name," Laura motioned her head towards the other human, "is Alex." Laura then looked to the Eevee who was just now waking up. "And that one is named Luna." Laura said just as the Eevee let out a yawn but feigned being asleep.

"I see." Grace said as she sat on the floor just as a Chansey walked into the room.

"I see that the Absol is awake and seems to be feeling better already." The chansey said with a smile.

"Ah Sora good morning to you." Grace said with a smile towards the Chansey, "Laura it was Sora who took care of you and your friends last night."

Laura looked at the chansey for a moment, "I-i see. Thank you." Laura said as she nodded her thanks.

"Oh it was no problem at all. In fact it's my duty here in this village. Taking care of those who are sick and injured. I am also the village..."
Sora was cut off by Grace who purposely interrupted.

"So Laura why were you not with your trainer?" Grace asked curiously

"I..." Laura lowered her head slightly and shook it deciding on tell the truth. "I was asked a question that was uncomfortable for me to answer and ran off into the forest."

"I see. Would the question have anything to do with how you feel towards Zaine?" Grace asked hopefully not overstepping any boundaries.

"Yes it would." Laura said and nothing more.

Sora only nodded as she saw the expression on Laura's face and understood the conflict.

"It's alright Laura. I had a crush on my Trainer a few years after he caught me. He finally returned the affection some time later and I must say those were the best years of my life. I wanted to stay with him till the end but he was adamant on letting me live my life. I found myself a life here in this forest village and lived happily, though I do miss him from time to time but having so many friends around helps keep things interesting." Sora said with a joyful smile as she placed a hand on Laura's shoulder.

Laura thought on Sora's words and would remember them but Sora was more human like than she was, which is what bothered her the most. Soon she was deep in thought but was shaken from them as she heard a groan coming from in front of her. She looked at Zaine and stared at his face hopefully.

"NNggghhh ugh... did any one get the name of that Ryhorn that hit me?" he asked groggily before opening his eyes.

Once he did he saw Laura looking directly into his eyes. Soon she happily nuzzled and licked his face joyful that he was alright. After her sudden actions she immediately looked away embarrassed, to which Luna was watching with one eye open and smiled slyly. Zaine laughed at Laura's affection and reached up with his right hand to turn her head to where she was facing him again.

"I'm glad that you're alright." He said with a smile as he brought her into a hug.

"And I'm glad that you are still alive after what I've heard happened to you." Laura said as a few tears escaped her eyes.

Neither of them noticed that Grace, Sora, and Yuna had left the room. They had taken Luna and Alex with them so that Zaine and Laura could have time to themselves.

"Ah to be young again." Sora said as fond memories came to her.

"Those two seem to care more for each other than themselves." Grace said with a smile as she looked to her child, who was smiling all the more. I wonder if she would like to go with them. Grace thought She deserves to see the rest of the world and not just this little village.

Soon Zaine and Laura left the room that they had been in, it was obvious that nothing had happened between the two. From the way it looked they were glad to be back in each others presence once more. Grace walked up to them but it was Zaine who spoke up first.

"Thank you for helping Laura and my friend." He said.

Grace nodded and was about to speak but it was Laura who spoke next.

"Would you mind showing us around your village? At least that way we will have something to do till Alex wakes up." Laura asked

"Yeah. I hope it's not too much to ask." Zaine said scratching the back of his head.

"O... Of course." Grace said before she told Sora to keep an eye on Alex, who was still out cold.

Soon the four, Yuna wanted to go with them, were walking through the small village while Grace told them about the village.

"It's actually taken a lot of hard work to keep this village from falling apart completely. I guess that the community here has stayed together for as long as it has is mostly because we have all suffered similar fates. The ones who have not are those who have been growing up here." Grace said as they walked on before stopping at a statue of what seemed to be a Lucario.

"This is a statue of our Guardian... Well we like to think of him as our guardian. From what Alkir'an says this statue was built in memory of a Lucario who fought against a mad man who sought to destroy all pokemon from the world. We are still alive thanks to his sacrifice and his bravery." Grace said as she bowed her head towards the statue.

Zaine looked at the statue and saw that it was indeed a Lucario but on it's head was a hat of some kind, not a normal hat. It looked more like a hat he had seen worn by some people in another region. It was a rounded wide hat that seemed to cover the eyes and it seemed to be somewhat cone shaped. In the right hand of the Lucario was some sort of sword with strange runic writing on it. As Zaine looked at the statue closer he noted that it had a faint blue aura surrounding it.

"I guess I should be thankful as well." Zaine said with a respectful nod and a smile before they continued their tour of the village.

They met Alkir'an, who smiled upon seeing them. They talked for a bit but soon returned to Grace's house, where upon arriving, they found Alex sitting on what looked to be a makeshift couch. As they entered Alex let go of Luna, who was happy to be let go, and she bounded over to Zaine and Laura. Upon reaching them Luna leaped onto Laura's back and smiled happily before curling up into a small ball of fur. Alex shook his head before walking up to Zaine, who was watching Laura for any reaction at all. Thankfully there was none and he turned his attention towards Alex.

"Well I guess we owe our thanks and lives to the Pokemon of this place." Alex said with a slight smile, "To be honest I had heard about this place as rumors and wanted to see it for myself." He looked towards the Delphox and smiled.

Grace looked at Alex and saw him smiling at her and blushed slightly as the last time anyone had smiled at her was when she was with her trainer. She looked to Yuna as she remembered her past, and smiled.

I wonder if Yuna would like to go with them. She deserves to see what the world around is like and the enjoy it. Grace thought as she knelt down beside the fennekin.

"So what did you guys do?" Alex asked Zaine.

"Well. Grace here," Zaine motioned towards the Delphox, "Showed us around the village and turns out most of the pokemon here used to be owned by other trainers before they were released for various reasons."

"I see." Alex responded just before a gust of wind blew through the room sending up a puff of dust into his face. Alex coughed and waved his hands in the air to clear it away. "Gah. Dust."

A blue aura filled the room but soon faded leaving Luna and Alex wondering what it was.

"What was that?" Alex asked.

"I think that was the aura of a Lucario." Zaine said as he had read the name that was engraved on the statue's base.

"Anyways I think we should be on our way." Alex said as he looked out of a nearby window.

"Oh that's right." Zaine said as he remembered that they were supposed to go to the museum in Veilfore city. "I guess that we should get going, anyways Grace. It was nice to meet you and everyone else here. Also I must thank you for helping us."

Luna, Alex's Eevee jumped onto Zaine's shoulder and gave off a happy sound, which to Zaine was a cheerful thank you.

After they got their gear together they headed for the exit of the town, which was hidden away by the trees and bushes. In fact it seemed like the forest hid the small village away, even from the sky. Once the group left the village Grace and Yuna bade them farewell and a safe journey to which was responded to in kind.

*With Grace and Yuna*

The mother and daughter had returned to their home in the village and were talking with Alkir'an when Yuna started crying slightly, which did not go unnoticed by either of them.

"What's wrong Yuna?" Grace asked as she picked Yuna up and cradled her in her arms.

Yuna looked up at her mother and sniffled before responding, "I miss them already... Zaine and his friends seem like nice people and Laura looks to be a very nice Absol."

Grace smiled a sad smile as her decision was made for her. "How would you like to join them on their journey?" Grace asked her daughter.

"But that would mean I would be leaving you here and I would miss you instead." Yuna responded.

"Don't worry about that. In fact I'll give you something that my mother gave me when I left home." Grace said as she stood and placed Yuna on the couch that they had been sitting on before heading upstairs.

Alkir'an spoke up then, "Don't worry young Yuna your mother had a great trainer who treated her more like another person than a Pokemon. So much so that I think that..."

"That's enough on that Alkir'an. I know that you've learned much of my past but I'd rather keep a few things to myself." Grace said as she returned holding a small wooden box engraved with vine like markings. "Now... Yuna this box holds the item that my mother gave me when I left home so that I would never feel as though I were too far from her. I am giving it to you for the same purpose. Yuna... I want you to enjoy life and see the world beyond this village and I would like for you to go with Zaine and his friends." Grace was chocking back tears as a slight breeze blew through the tree's outside.

Alkir'an raised his head slightly... "I sense a storm is coming." He said, "But it is a storm of good fortune." Alkir'an smirked slightly as he stood, "Young you are Yuna, but strong you will become, and happy you will be with Zaine and the many friends that he makes along his journey. The good and bad times you will all face and come forth from in more than better conditions."

With that said Alkir'an left returning to the library, which was his home. At this Grace opened the box she held and revealed a small pearl like stone that looked like it could be tied to something.

*Flashback*
"Grace I am giving this to you to remember me by. It's time that you left home and saw the world beyond this peaceful glade. I'm not going to say that it will be easy you will face good and bad times. You will even endure some of the darkest days of your life but you will become all the stronger for it."

"But mama... I don't want to."

*End flashback*

Grace tied the leather strings around Yuna's neck and smiled, "Now I'm going to send you to them ok. Tell Zaine that you are going with him on his journey." Grace said as a tear streaked into her fur.

Before Yuna could protest she was engulfed in an effulgent pink and purple light before she vanished with the Teleport. Grace lowered her head and smiled sadly.

"I hope that you have a joyous time with your friends my daughter just remember that I am not always far from your heart." Grace said.

It was not long after Yuna had been sent on her way that Grace heard a voice, behind her, that she had not heard for many years.

"And so you've sent your daughter on a journey with a trainer as I had done with you my dear." Said an elderly voice.

"Hello mother." Grace said with a smile as she turned to face the elderly Delphox.

"Good, you've not forgotten my voice." The elderly delphox said with a wry grinning smile.

"Mother... I must apologize." Grace said lowering her head.

"Whatever for dear? As far as I am concerned there is nothing to apologize for." Grace's mother said

"I must apologize, for when you sent me away I held resentment towards you for many years..." Grace said sadly

"But then you found someone to love... or more precise you found someone who loved you more than their own kind."

Grace smiled as she remember Yuna's father. He was quite good looking and strong willed. Even more was that he had such a kind heart. It used to infuriate her to no end how kind he was. "Yes I did. He treated me very well and defended me when... that time... came around."

"Then know that Yuna will have a wonderful journey of her own. Though the Absol, Laura, will be more attached to Zaine the boy will have enough love for all of his Pokemon friends." Grace's mother said with a smile.

"I know." Grace replied as silence fell upon the room only to be broken by Grace's mother

"You know what that boy is do you not?" She asked with a sage like voice.

"I knew what he was from the moment I saved his life. If you will..." Grace was cut off by her mother

"Then you know that the words Alkir'an spoke are true. There is a storm coming and it is not just good... It is both good and bad. I fear that tragedy lies ahead for Zaine and his friends. I have seen the stones and they foretell many things." Grace's mother said with a slight smile, "Fear not though for Yuna will endure and become stronger. Far stronger than you I do believe."

"Thank you mother." Grace said before the the elderly Delphox slinked into the shadows and vanished. Grace looked out the nearby window and whispered, "I hope that you will be safe Yuna."

*With Zaine and his friends.*

They had walked for a long ways and were not too far from the gates of Veilfore city when the wind suddenly swirled violently around them just as something impacted Zaine's chest sending him to the ground. He slowly opened his eyes to the sight of a familiar Fennekin.

"HI!" The Fennekin said as she sat on Zaine's chest and stared into his face with a smile.

Zaine looked closely and realized who it was.

"Yuna. What are you doing here?" He asked before he saw the pearl like stone around her neck and was greeted with a telepathic message with Grace's voice.

"Zaine I had recorded this message into this stone for when Yuna found you. She is going to be joining you on your journey. In truth I am happy that she is with you over anyone else. When you and your friends left she began to miss you all as such I've decided to send her to join you and your friends. Please. Treat her as well as my trainer treated me. I know you are a very kind hearted person and won't let anything untoward happen to her. Just go to the Pokemon Center in Veilfore City and the nurse there will give you a special Pokeball. I leave Yuna, my daughter, in your hands so please take good care of her... If anything bad happens to her I will know and I will hunt you down."

Zaine would have been afraid of the threat but knew there wasn't anything to be afraid of. He picked Yuna up and set her aside so as he could get to his feet. Upon getting to his feet, Zaine knelt down and picked Yuna back up and cradled her in his arms. As he did so she curled up and nuzzled his chest happily. Laura had taken notice of this and only smiled but felt as though she had been stabbed.

After Yuna joined them they began heading towards Veilfore city but Laura wound up stumbling and hurting her leg in the process, to which Zaine was able to wrap it in a small bandage. He still picked her up and carried her while Yuna clung to his head. As they went on their way Zaine had a question to ask Alex.

"Hey Alex." He said

"Yeah what's up?" Alex replied.

"The other day I encountered someone who went by the name of Alex. His hair was light blond and he used a pikachu." Zaine said as he attempted to remember his first opponent.

"Ah you ran into Kai. Yeah I know the guy but only because he lives in the same town as my family does. It's odd that he would venture so far from home though." Alex said before continuing, "He calls himself Alex but his real name is Kaizaran, Kai for short. He thinks that he's the best but he has a long ways to go till he actually is. Since you've mentioned him we may encounter him on our journey."

"Ok thanks for the information." Zaine said just moments before they reached the entrance to Veilfore City.

Upon walking into the city they instantly began looking for the Pokemon center, which wasn't too far. They walked in and Zaine place Laura on the counter along with Yuna. The nurse looked at Yuna as her eyes turned purple before returning to the normal pink.

"Ah yes. That request. Here is that Pokeball that I am to give you." She said handing Zaine a Pokeball that looked plain white with what looked to be a ribbon design on it. Upon closer inspection Zaine noticed that there was a heart on the top of it which made him a bit curious about it but he paid it no mind at the moment as he tapped Yuna with the ball.

The ribbon on the Pokeball turned a bright red color as Yuna was drawn into it. Soon the ribbon on the Pokeball was fully red signifying a successful capture, however he let her out shortly after and put the Pokeball on his belt.

Alex had placed his Pokemon on the counter for the Nurse to take care of and while they waited they sat in the waiting room and began talking. The main thing on their minds was their reasons for coming to Veilfor city.

"Well," Alex began, "the real reason I decided to come with you is because I'm reading into the benefits and drawbacks of having a relationship with Pokemon and you seemed an interesting individual to follow."

"I see." Zaine replied, "For what reason are you reading into such a subject?"

Alex looked like he was blushing as he did his best to avoid eye contact. "W-w-well..."

"Nevrmind that let me ask this instead. Who is it that you daydream of having by your side, because you've obviously already found one." Zaine said with a knowing smirk.

"A... a gardevoir." Alex said as he lowered his head fully embarrassed.

"I don't blame ya for choosing one of them. They are quite beautiful." Zaine said, "I take that you have a ralts as one of your companions then?"

"N-not exactly. She's already a..." Alex was cut off as a beautiful shiny blue kirlia leaped into Alex's lap and hugged him.

"I take that this is her then." Zaine said with a smile just before Laura, and Yuna joined them Luna was close behind as she leaped on the table and began to poke a little fun at Alex's predicament.

"Yeah her name's..."

"My name is Saia and it is a pleasure to meet you Zaine." the Kirlia said in perfect English giving Zaine a wink and looking at Yuna and Laura and licking her lips slightly.

"I see that she is very polite and has no problem with others of the same gender." Zaine said as he paid close attention to Saia's actions.

"She uh... she likes both..." Alex said as he remembered something. He had walked in on Saia kissing a female Zorua. His nose began to bleed slightly as he remembered that moment.

"I see that you've remembered THAT moment again. Would you mind bringing out Alara I am sure she would like to meet our new friend." Saia said with a mischief filled smile.

Laura let out a low growl at the kirlia just before Alex brought forth another Pokeball he had kept hidden and released a Zorua from it.

"Mmm" The Zorua yawned and stretched, "I'm out again." She said looking around.

"Why don't we head somewhere more... private." Saia said to the Zorua who smiled at her friend.

"I would like that but Alex should get the room first." Alara said with a devious smile.

"You see the problem I have?" Alex asked with a pleading look in his eyes.

"Yeah I see your problem. I've had a girlfriend or two that were the exact same way. However I am sure you won't have any problem from these two aside from one maybe two." Zaine said with a mischievous smirk as he got to his feet and began to head for the door, "Just make sure you reserve another room for me alright. I'm heading to the museum."

With that Zaine left the Pokemon Center and headed for the museum while Alex took care of reserving a couple of rooms for himself and Zaine. After getting the rooms reserved Alex instantly remembered something and returned his pokemon to their balls before heading out the door to find Zaine.
