Anna's view- Before meeting up with Toni
I had found Sasuke relatively easily after learning how to control the chakra vision thing. When I reached him he was training with Orochimaru, it looked like he was working on one of his chidori techniques. I would of been content to just stand there and watch but unfortunately Kabuto-san had other ideas. I squeaked and jumped away as I suddenly felt his chakra way too close behind me.
I glared at him angrily. "Ever heard of personal space? 'Cause you're kinda in my bubble, Kabuto-san," I stated, eyeing him warily as I slowly inched away. He didn't respond right away, I couldn't see his eyes because of the light reflected off of his glasses.
"What are you doing here and why were you in Sasuke's room last night?" He asked me calmly. What to say, what to say. . . I couldn't tell him the whole truth about our deal, but I had to tell him something.
"I'm here because I was looking for Sasuke, and secondly," I replied. "It really is none of your business where I sleep." I feigned a brave defiant expression when I said all this, internally hoping he wouldn't stab me with his scalpel. I wanted to say more but the logical side of me was overpowering my bitchy side and that was probably a good thing. Kabuto opened his mouth to say something else but, thankfully, Sasuke interrupted him.
"You're late, baka," Sasuke stated as he jumped down between Kabuto and me, which I was thankful for. "I got here hours ago. Now come on," And with that he roughly grabbed my arm and pulled me towards where he was training moments ago. When we were a ways away from Kabuto I wrenched my arm free from his grip and started to walk normally beside him. "What was that about?" He asked. "Was he trying to get information out of you?"
I sighed, he was straight to the point as expected. "He cornered me over there and asked me what I was doing here and why I was in your room last night. So yeah, I guess that counts as trying to get information out of me." I answered.
He immediately stopped and forced me to do the same. His coal black eyes were narrowed dangerously. "And what did you say?" I blinked, he was worried I had told Kabuto our deal, so he still didn't trust me. That was smart I suppose.
"I told him you and I were having wild sex all last night. And then I told him ALL about the plan you and I made together!" I said sarcastically, of course. I rolled my eyes when I saw his face redden. "Of course not! And you call me baka. . . I didn't tell him anything. But, you should've seen your face, it was priceless~" He relaxed slightly at that which put me at ease. I may be an amazing and sarcastic person (And did I mention humble?) but I'm not stupid enough to not realize that he could kill me in the blink of an eye. The only thing I had to use against him was information and as soon as I got the training I needed I'd tell him everything then leave for the leaf.
"Okay then," I said, clasping my hands together. "What are you going to teach me first? Chidori? Fireball jutsu?" I grinned up at him happily and he looked at me like I was crazy before shaking his head and walking towards some trees at the edge of the clearing.
"How about how to throw a kunai," He replied, roughly shoving five kunai into my hand and pointing towards a nearby tree. Oh hell no.
"But couldn't we do. . . I don't know? Something interesting?" I asked with a frown.
"You don't think learning to throw dangerous knives at your enemies is interesting?" Said Sasuke.
I sighed in resignation, Duckbutt had a point. Knives are awesome. There was just one more problem. "Okay, fine. But I um, I don't really know how to do this. . . I've never thrown a knife before." Blushing a bit from embarrassment I held out one of the kunai to Sasuke. "Can you show me?" He eyed me carefully for a few seconds before taking the kunai from my hand.
"Pay attention, every genin should be able to do this." He moved slowly, making sure I could see each step to throwing it correctly. When he let go of the kunai it flew into the middle of the tree. "Alright, now you try it. You probably won't get it at first but-" A solid "Thunk" (pretty sure that's what it would sound like . ) cut him off. While he had been bragging I had thrown one of the remaining kunai at the tree. I felt a wave of satisfaction hit me as it landed right next to Sasuke's, and stayed there.
"You were saying?" I asked, giggling at the way his eyes widened.
He quickly regained his composure and looked down at me as if I'd done nothing special. "Hn, well throwing it that slowly was bound to be easy, but you won't have that much time in a real fight." He brought out another kunai as he said this to me. "Let's see how you can handle having no time to prepare."
"Bring it on."
~~~~~~~~~~~~Several hours of vigorous non-stop training later~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I groaned as I flopped back down against the ground. The original kunai practice had turned into a deathmatch with Sasuke where he flung kunai at me continuously expecting me to either deflect or dodge them. So that's why, three hours later, I was laying on the cold ground covered in scratches and completely exhausted. I looked up as Sasuke walked over to where I was sprawled out. If he was as tired as me he did a much better job of hiding it.
I raised my arms up towards him. "Help a girl up?" I asked with a tired grin. I knew it was a long shot but in a surprisingly un-Sasukeish turn of events he grabbed my hand and helped me to my feet. "Haha, you wouldn't mind carrying me too would you?" He scowled down at me and pushed me away slightly.
"No, you're sweaty and you smell." He replied.
"Hey!" I yelled with a frown. "You're the one who insisted on training till I, literally, dropped!" All I got in reply was a grumble as we walked back inside together.
The hallways looked even creepier in the dark as the torches sent dancing shadows all along the walls. Though that wasn't the only thing that was weird about the dark halls tonight. At first I thought it was just light from the torches reflecting in different colors, but as I watched them they seemed to move behind the walls. It was faint, but they were definitely peoples chakra.
"Hey. . . Sasuke. I think we've got company." I whispered as I tugged on the sleeve of his white shirt to get his attention.
"What?" He asked, his eyes narrowed. "Where?" He glanced around us, the orange glow from the torches reflecting against his onyx eyes.
"They're faint," I replied. "Over there, a little ways off. It. . . It doesn't feel like anyone from here. Sasuke, it's probably Naruto and Sakura. But. . . But this isn't right." I shook my head in confusion and looked up at him. "They're way ahead of schedule and there's too many of them. It was only supposed to be Yamato, Sai, Sakura, and Naruto. But there's eight chakra signatures." I trailed off slowly as I returned to watching the soft glows of light as they moved around.
". . . Na. . . . Anna. . . . Anna!" I gasped as I came back to reality, Sasuke had grabbed me roughly by my shoulders and was shaking me. "What do I need to do?" Asked Sasuke.
". . . Okay, even though there's more people it should end up the same way. Sai, the gay one, has been sent here to kill you. But he won't, trust me. What you need to do is go back to your room and pretend to be asleep, facing the wall, until he sends an ink snake in to bind you. Ask him what he's doing like a normal person would then blow a big hole in the place with some jutsu. But DON'T KILL HIM. Don't kill anyone. Just stand at the top of the opening looking all badass like until Orochimaru and Kabuto come. Then you leave with them." He continued to stare down at me even after I had stopped, his hands still gripping my shoulders.
"Alright," Said Sasuke. "Let's go." He released my shoulders and went to grab me by my arm but I stepped back out of his reach.
"No," I replied.
"What? We have a deal, Anna. You have to come with me," Sasuke growled at me, confusion etched across his face.
"I am going to go with you! I just need to check something out first!" I yelled impatiently. "Don't you understand? The only reason the scenario could've been changed is if someone else told the others that you were here!" I groaned when I saw that he wasn't understanding anything I said and ran my hands through my hair as I tried to figure out a simpler way to explain it. ". . . The only reason that more people are here is that someone that's from the same place as me also came. Do you understand?"
"Barely," He replied as he started walking towards his room. "Do what you have to do. Just make sure you're back in time, or I'll get you myself." I nodded and ran off to try and find out if I was correct, and someone else had been sent here too.
