Alright, let's see if I can get back into this story. You have no idea how hard this is to write, believe me.
I still don't own either of the shows Xiaolin Showdown, or Jackie Chan Adventures. If I did own them, you'd think I'd be able to write the characters better.
Raimundo groaned and leaned against the wall. He had a headache and was starting to regret bringing both Jade and Hsi Wu into this. The two of them had been arguing for the past hour, and won't shut up. Everybody else was long past tired of it. Finally, Raimundo had had enough. Raimundo goes to the two arguing kids, grabs one of each of their arms and, not too gently, drags them to one of the rooms in the temple that actually had a door that you could close (And lock.)
"Okay, I'm sick of you two fighting like this."Raimundo says with a glare at the two of them, "So you two are going to stay in here until you can learn how to get along."
"What? Wait, don't lock me in a room with demon boy." Jade half whines, half pleads.
"Would you stop calling me that?" Hsi Wu says. Jade was really irritating him. Hsi Wu's comment just gets Jade annoyed and the two start arguing again. Raimundo shakes his head and leaves the room, making sure to lock it behind him.
"Wait, you can't seriously be doing this." Hsi Wu says from inside the room. He didn't really think that Raimundo was going to lock them in the room together.
"Of course I'm seriously doing this," Raimundo says, "You guys are giving everybody a major headache, you gotta stop. You're allies now, so find some neutral ground. And until you do, you're not leaving that room." Raimundo walked away before Jade or Hsi Wu could object again.
"This is so not fair." Jade says as she sits on the ground. The boy stayed standing, his arms crossed. Neither of them said anything for a while, neither wanted to seem weak by being the one to start trying to find some common ground. Finally, Hsi Wu relented.
"You know we're not going to be let out of here until we make a type of amends." Hsi Wu says.
"How are we supposed to do that?" Jade asks, "We have nothing in common. I'm good, you're bad, I'm a human, you're a demon, I'm a girl, you're a boy."
"I'm good looking, while you're, eh, not so much." Hsi Wu says, a sly look on his face.
"Hey, I was going to say that." Jade says with a glare, but a second later the two of them burst into laughter.
"Well, look at that, we can agree on something," Jade says.
"What, that we both think we're better looking?" Hsi Wu asks.
"Yeah, I mean, it's not much, but it's a start." Jade says.
"Indeed it is." Hsi Wu agrees. "As for those other things you said, they aren't all necessarily true."
"What, are you going to tell me that you're not really a boy?" Jade asks jokingly, "Do demons not have genders?"
"That wasn't it," Hsi Wu says, "What I meant was the other two, specifically the 'good and bad' one."
"What do you mean?" Jade asks, "It's true, I'm good, you're bad, what's not true about that?"
"Jade, by now even you must know that things in the world can't be separated into 'good and bad'. Everybody has some good and some bad in them." Hsi Wu says.
"I know that," Jade says defensively, "I just meant I'm mostly good, and you're mostly bad." Jade pauses for a second before continuing, "Besides, I thought that the 'everybody has some good and bad inside' thing didn't apply to demons."
"Of course it does," Hsi Wu says, "Although, I do admit, a demon's definition of good may be different than yours."
"Sounds complicated, so I'll just take your word for it," Jade says. She's quiet for another minute before she turns to Hsi Wu. "Hey, once we have all the Dimension Diamonds, where are you going to go?"
"Well, I'm not sure," Hsi Wu says. "Not back to the netherworld, that's for sure."
"Yeah, I could understand not wanting to go back there," Jade says, "It's super boring."
"Well, yes, there's that." Hsi Wu says, "But there's also just the fact that my siblings are still there, and anywhere they are is where I don't want to be."
"I thought you guys were family? Why don't you guys get along, like, at all?" Jade asks.
"Family, we're not family." Hsi Wu says as he casts an odd look at Jade.
"You just said that you were siblings." Jade says.
"I meant siblings, as in brothers and sisters, which is something that people sometimes call others if they are in a group together or something." Hsi Wu says, "It's just a way to make us remember that we're working together, not separately."
"So, you're not actually related?" Jade asks.
"No, I'm not related to any of them, and none of them are related to each other either," Hsi Wu says, "All of us were just demon sorcerers, so we decided to unit. So, no, we're not a family, I barely think of them as brothers and sisters, they're more like torturers."
"If you hate them, why did you work with them?" Jade asks.
"Well, I don't exactly hate them, it's more like loathing, not quite hate though." Hsi Wu says, "I worked with them though, because I did owe them, or at least some of them, because they helped me adjust."
"Adjust to what?" Jade asks.
"Well, it's complicated," Hsi Wu says, hoping that would be a good enough explanation. But Jade wouldn't stand for that.
"Yeah right, come on, just tell." Jade says.
"They helped me adjust to being a demon." Hsi Wu says slowly. Wow, and Jade thought that she was confused before. adjust to being a demon? If he had to adjust to that, just what was he before?
"Why would you need to adjust?" Jade asks, her eyes narrowed in confusion. Before Hsi Wu could answer though, the door was thrown open and Kimiko came in.
"Bad news," Kimiko says, "Wuya's new fox boy is here, and he's trying to steal our Wu."
That actually wasn't half bad. I hope I'm not confusing anybody by still calling Hsi Wu Hsi Wu, even though for most of the rest of the story, he'll look like Seymour. Just remember that when I say Hsi Wu, he's Seymour, unless I say otherwise.
And please, people, review. I promise, it encourages me to write me. If I don't get more reviews, then I'm going to end up working more on the fanfictions of mine that people do review, because I know they want more.
