Hey everybody! Sorry it's been so long since I last posted. Life just got in the way big time. Anyway, I completely forgot that I'd even started this. I only found it when I got a new laptop and was backing up and transferring everything over from my old one. Hopefully I will be posting at least once a week (life permitting) so hopefully you'll be seeing a lot more of me on here! Enjoy the new chapter and leave comments! Thank you!

Spencer POV

3.00pm

I had gone through every piece of paper, every photo, every piece of information that we had collected over the past 24 hours and came up with nothing. No matter how many ways we looked at it we had nothing. Garcia couldn't even get anything from the phone call. She said that however did was smart because they routed it through several cell towers across the city with no correlation between the locations. We had combed through every part of their lives, seeing if anything was out of the ordinary.

From what we could gather Mary's grandfather had never been to America before. We still had no idea how he escaped from prison and made it here without being spotted by security in Ireland and then Homeland Security here. He was on every single wanted list in the world for a list of crimes longer than anything I had ever seen in my entire life. He started when he was young, transporting weapons for higher ups in the IRA in Belfast, he soon worked his way into and up the organisation to become the most formidable commander in the organizations history. He was feared by his own people and by the law enforcement. He was ruthless in his campaign of terror across the UK. Hundreds of people died in bombings and shootings. To many they were seen as cold heartless murders but to a few they were seen as heroes, soldiers in a war against the state. Once the peace process started perceptions of them began to change for the better but none of them would ever face justice for what they did with statutes of limitations and the Good Friday Agreement. One of the conditions of this was that anyone who was imprisoned for crimes committed during the troubles was released without charge. Even though Mary's grandfather was put away for crimes he committed during that time he did far worse things in prison. He killed two other prisoners before it was decided that he should be put into solitary under 24 hour supervision but recently he had shown no threat to any of the other prisoners so he was put back in with the general population. This is where we think he planned his escaped with help from associates on the outside and maybe even inside the prison (we haven't ruled out that it could have been an inside job). We were still baffled at the fact he had escaped from a maximum security prison and was able to get on a plane without being noticed.

We were just about to give up when Mary's phone went off. We all jumped. Was it him again? There is no way he could call again.

"Calm down. It's Kim from across the street, she's my best friend and we go to school together. She's probably ringing to see how I'm doing."

"Oh, ok."

"Hey what's up? What? What do you mean there's someone at my house? Wait, wait, slow down you're talking too fast. What do you mean they look like my Mom?"

As she was on the phone Morgan walked in.

"What's going on?"

"Mary's friend just called her. She said that someone is in her house matching the description of her mother."

"I thought her Mom was dead? We have the pictures."

"She was so badly beaten that they had to use DNA to identify her."

"Maybe it's a ploy to get us back to the house."

"Either way we need to check it out. Get Hotch and tell him what's going on."

As Morgan left the room Mary came off her phone. She looked visibly shaken, like she had seen a ghost.

"Are you ok?"

"Yea, I just need to um sit down. This is crazy, really crazy. We buried her, put up a gravestone, I go to it every week and talk to her."

I had no idea of what to do or say. What do you say to someone when they find out that their mother could be alive?

"We're going to check it out. You just stay here and I'll call you if we find anything."

"You are not leaving me here. If it is my Mom…"

She trailed off, confused and close to tears. I had to convince that she should stay because it could be a trap and she could be taken. I pulled up a chair beside her and held her hand and told her

"You need to stay here where it's safe. It could be a ploy to get you back to your house, to take you and if he took you then we may never find you or your father."

"Okay, I'll stay here with Garcia. Call me when you find anything."

"Don't worry I will."

I stood up just as Hotch walked in.

"We're going back to the Kelly residence?"

"Yes, Mary's friend who lives across the street just called her to say that a woman just entered her house fitting the description of her mother."

"Ok. We'll all go. It might be a trap, something to lure Mary back home. We have to be on guard in case they try anything."

Everyone nodded and proceeded to get ready. Putting on our vests and checking our weapons. Mary just sat there looking stunned, like she'd seen a ghost. Well if this turns out to be true then she will. I can't even begin to imagine what is going through her head right now. One minute her mother is dead and the next there's the possibility that she may be alive and in her house right now. I can't leave her alone right now but I need to go to her house to see if it really is her mother. It was at that moment Garcia walked in.

"Just viewed camera footage from Mary's neighbour. There's a car in the driveway, it's a rental, paid cash, and they did produce ID though. The name is Kelly Armstrong, it's a UK driver's licence."

A picture of the licence popped up onto the screen and Mary gasped. She was shaking as she pointed towards the screen.

"That's her! That's my Mom! But why?"

Mary seemed even more confused than before. Her hands were shaking like leaves. She looked like she was going to break down any minute.

"Mary will you stay with Garcia while we check this out?"

"Sure. Spencer?"

"Yea"

"Will you call me if you find anything?"

"Sure."

And with that we were out the door and into the cars on our way to Mary's house. During the ride we went over our plan. Morgan, Emily and Rossi would go in through the back. JJ, Hotch and myself would go through the front. It didn't take us long to get to the house.

Nothing seemed strange or out of the ordinary. It looked like just as had left it a couple of days ago.

We went in silently, not wanting to draw attention to ourselves in case it was a trap. We split up into our respective teams. Hotch tests the front door, it opens without any resistance. We silently file into the house, clearing the living room first, we then move into the kitchen. Morgan points towards the study, Hotch nods and proceeds forward. We can hear music coming from beyond the door. U2, One is playing, it's one of David's favourite songs. Hotch opens the doors and there's a woman sitting at the desk, she turns round and it's unmistakably Mary's mother. She smiles and says in a slight Northern Irish accent.

"Took you long enough to get here."

Thought I should leave it on a cliffhanger to give myself some motivation for the next chapter. See you soon!
