Disclaimer: CASSANDRA CLARE OWNS TMI. THIS IS BASED ON SHE'S DATING THE GANGSTER.
I walked into Magnus's Salon.
"Jace! Has your girlfriend come to get another haircut?" He asked excitedly. "I like her."
I smiled. "No. I'm here to have my haircut."
He beamed then sat me down at a chair and wrapping a cutting cape around me and then I could hear the snipping sound of scissors.
Then next day Clary got a ride with Sophie and Cecily so I road into school alone.
I walked through the gates and through the pathway into the school.
I saw Clary and my group of friends in the middle of the path.
I made eye contact with Daniel and he I heard him say, "Ahh he's back!"
The others turn and their eyes widened. That caused Clary to turn around and I gave her my most charming, genuine smile.
She smiled back at me.
Maia and Jordan whooped.
"We've got the Golden Boy back!" Will and Alec said.
I walked quickly to Clary and gave her a bear hug.
She began to giggle.
"Looking good!" She said.
It's been a while since I've been this happy.
"Well, there's the dance in a few days so it's perfect timing right?" I asked.
Her smile widened. "Yeah, definitely."
I was excited for later on for the rest of the school day.
CLARY POV
I was preparing for the school dance this evening. It was a charity ball, the money for the tickets and extra donations would be given to two charities: WWF and Wounded Warrior Project. I chose to wear wear a simple light green skater dress and white wedges. Her hair was down in tidy curls with a white butterfly pin pinning it away from her face.
There was a knock on my door.
"Come in."
It was my mom. She gasped. "Clary, you look gorgeous.! We need to take pictures! Oh and Jace is here."
They went down the stairs and she saw Jace wearing a white polo with long sleeves that were rolled up, a loose tie and some dark jeans. Even then he looked breathtaking.
"Good evening, beautiful."
"Get together, you two. We need pictures!" My mom already had the camera in her hands.
Jace put his arm around my shoulders as mom took the pictures. There was a picture where Jace was kissing my cheek. Mom caught my dad with his intimating face on as he looked at us so Jace and I walked over to him and stood on each side and smiled with jazz hands held out. The last photo had Jonathan joining in with the jazz hands.
After a few laughs we decided we should get going.
"You know, I like your family." Jace said as he started to drive. "They're actually really cheerful and positive."
"That's because they have to be." I mumbled. "For me."
"Huh? What was that?"
"Oh! I just said yeah, it's to keep our spirits up and what not. Ahah… who says whatnot nowadays…" I thought out loud.
Jace chuckled and in no time we reached our destination. We gave our tickets and went in.
"Clary! Jace!" It was Maia and all the others.
After saying our hellos, we sat down at their table and Jace put his arm around me.
After chatting Maia asked, "Hey guys, we're gonna go dancing, wanna come?"
"Uh… you wanna dance?" Jace asked me.
"Yeah." I answered hesitantly. "Sure."
He took my hand and led me to the dance floor.
We began slow dance. Even then, after a few minutes of slow dancing I began to pant. Oh no…
"Hey, I'm just gonna go to the lady's room." I said.
"Oh, yeah sure." Jace answered.
I smiled at him and left.
I rest my hands on the sink with my head down.
Breathe in... Breathe out… Breathe in… Breathe out.
After just over five minutes I looked up at the mirror.
"You're okay. Clary, you're okay." I looked tired, maybe even exhausted.
I made my way back to Jace.
"Hey," He greeted. He was back at our table with punch and some snacks.
Jace place a hand on my arm. "Are you okay? You look tired."
"Yeah, just hungry." I answered, having some punch.
Gosh… If only I wasn't dying, this would have been the greatest night of my short life.
The day after prom was Sunday and Jace decided to take me out. And by out I mean out of the state. He took me to Michigan, more specifically, Grace Fellowship Baptist Church where my parents got married.
I looked up at him as we stood in front of the church.
"How did you know?"
"Emma told me you've always wanted to come here."
I smiled.
"This'll be where we get married. If we get… married." I added.
I saw Jace smile.
"But… what if something happens? To one of us? To me…?"
He turned and looked at me sincerely. "You are not allowed to die. We're gonna come back here and I promise… I'll marry you here."
My eyes tear up. "I love you." I whisper almost too quiet to hear. But he does.
His face breaks into an even bigger smile, the seriousness gone from his face.
"I love you too." He bends down to kiss me soft and gentle, as if I'm that fragile which I am but he doesn't know. He doesn't' need to.
When Jace drives us back to New York he drives to my house and walks me to my front door.
"I'll see you tomorrow." He whispers.
"I'll see you tomorrow." I kiss his cheek then head on in.
After I close the door I hear my dad. "Where the hell have you been?"
I froze. Busted.
"You cannot be out of the house for so long, Clary! What if something happens to you?! You didn't have anything with you!"
"I don't want to have to live my short life worrying about things like that! It makes me happy to be with Jace, can't you just appreciate that?!"
"Clary…" My mom stepped in. "We are just worried about your health that's all."
"No. You are probably thinking what you ever did to have to have a child with such health problems. Why I couldn't be perfect like Jonathan!"
"That is not true!" Valentine and Jocelyn bot defended themselves.
"Really? You've never thought 'I wish Clary could be healthy' or 'I wish I didn't have to worry or deal with this'?"
"Clary… You are our daughter. We love you." Jocelyn said to calm everything down.
"We're just scared. Of–" Valentine started.
"I know you're afraid of losing me. I'm afraid too. But we have to live with it."
Woo done.
I've got this story all planned out now.
There are 2 chapters after this one and then the Epilogue...
Please Review! And don't be mean... It's not that easy to write, you know. There's this thing called writer's block and broken laptops.
