A/N: Well, we see some new people (or cars…) here :P. This is an extra-long update (2552 words, to be exact, not counting A/N's) because I'm likely not going to update for the next couple weeks, as finals is coming up and I have an AP test next week, but once summer vacation hits, I'll try and update, but they may be more spaced out depending on what's going on.

Christine317- Thanks for the names! As you'll read, I used one, but I used just the description of the other. It helped a lot :)

Ren. Mazda- Yeah… it is a little odd, even I'll admit it, but I'm glad I'm doing it right :). And… um… I kind of already used Felix. If you read Holley's oneshot in IRII, you'll know. This one in particular is a little more Abby-centered, and the next one should be very fun for you to read, especially if you like Finn :).

Laila- Thanks for the names, I'll be sure to think about them when I need more :)

RushandStreak- I used a couple of your names, and thanks for both them and the compliment. I'm sure Finn babysitting Abby will be fun to both write and read :).

Enjoy :D

Abby woke up early, unable to sleep long. Excitedly, she made her way down the ramp, where she saw Miles already up. He looked somewhat startled to see her, but his face softened quickly, "Good morning, Abby," he said kindly, "Excited for school?"

"Am I ever," she replied, "Do you always get up this early?"

"Most days, unless… never mind," he said, remembering the times he actually woke up broken; that was the only time he did sleep in.

"Why?" she asked innocently.

"Just because I can," he replied, preparing the answer beforehand, "The sunrise is beautiful when you watch the whole thing."

"Do you think I could get up and watch it with you?" she wondered, "Or maybe go off-roading somewhere before school starts?"

Miles paused, unsure of what to say. "You still need your sleep. How about every now and then?"

"That would be okay," she said, somewhat saddened but still happy to go to school that day.

The two talked and laughed as she got her book bag together, along with a few other things she wanted to bring. Miles had already prepared the papers needed, and Finn had thankfully filed the rest; all the while Estella was still sleeping. Miles checked on her a couple of times, but all seemed well, and he figured she slept in most days, so there would be no issue.

Abby followed him into the garage, where the dreaded trailer was parked. "I don't have to ride in the trailer again, do I?"

"I think Estella would probably want you to," he replied.

"Wouldn't all of the other kids be driving on their own by now?"

"Not all of the other kids are race cars," he chuckled.

She glanced at him, somewhat annoyed but not especially, and backed into the trailer. Miles sighed, relieved, and pulled around front, taking the contraption with him. He smirked a little and flicked on his radio, "Does this work?" he asked, wondering what her reaction would be.

"Where did that come from?" she asked, somewhat frightened.

"It's just me," he laughed a little, "I put a communication radio in there."

"That's so cool!" she said, excited, "Now I don't have to be alone in here."

"That's part of my job, isn't it?" he replied happily, forgetting about his pervious obligation as they pulled into her new school. "Well, we're here," he said, and when he came to a stop she pushed the button on the inside of the trailer to open the door on the end.

She drove carefully out, her paint gleaming in the sun, "It looks like so much fun," she said breathlessly, "thanks for everything," she breathed, her front tire brushing up against his in affection.

"Well, I have to fill out some papers, but why don't you go inside and meet some of the others?"

"Okay, daddy," she said sweetly, making him smile a little before heading into the school.

The endless hallways seemed intimidating as she drove through them, unsure of where to go before she almost bumped into what seemed to be a teacher.

"Hello," the crossover car said kindly, "I don't believe I've seen you before. Are you new?"

"Yes," she said softly, "I'm Abby. Do you know where the sixth grade is?"

"They're all outside right now," she pointed in the direction of the exit with a tire, "School hasn't started yet. Oh, and I forgot to say, welcome to Oakdrift elementary," she smiled, "You're going to like it here."

"Thanks!" she replied, driving in the direction indicated. Exiting out of the automatic doors, she saw clusters of cars all over the playground, but her eyes were set on the racetrack, where a couple cars seemed to be waiting at the starting line. Speeding over to them, she observed that there were three of them: one Audi and two Mercedes. She revved her engine, hoping to impress them.

"Who are you?" the Audi demanded, his brown eyes glaring.

"Abby," she said proudly before stating her purpose, "Can I use the track or race you guys?"

"Are you kidding me?" he looked dumbfounded at the little red car, "You're a girl. Girls don't race. What brand are you, anyways?"

"Ferrari and Tesla," she replied, her eyes flaring with determination, despite her embarrassment of being asked a question like that.

"Only purebreds race here, mutt," he spat, turning around, "Come on, guys," he said condescendingly, leading his group away from her. She sheepishly turned around, looking for another suitable group, when she saw two other girls drive her way. One was dark purple, the other orange, perfectly contrasting each other as if it was Halloween.

"They kind of run the school," the purple one informed her, "I'm assuming you didn't know. Name's Dakota Jaguar."

"I'm Mandy," the orange Ferrari said, "Who are you?"

"Abby Tessari," she replied.

"You two could be cousins," Dakota joked, "you look a lot alike. Are you a Ferrari, Abby?"

"Partly," she replied bluntly.

"Ah, you're a mix," she reasoned, "Bruce doesn't like mixes."

"Bruce?"

"His name's Lucas, he's the Audi you met. He thinks Bruce is a better racing name," she replied knowingly, "There's them, and the rest of us fit in below."

"Who were the other two?"

"They're twins, or at least cousins," Dakota said. Abby concluded Mandy was the quieter of the two, "Shard and Henri. Shard's real name is Sherlock, though; just don't tell him that you know," she giggled, "Mandy figured that out."

"Do you race at all?"

"I'm in a club after school. The boys don't let the girls race, really. They think we have cooties."

Abby's engine heightened in power at the sentence, "You shouldn't have to do that," she said, "I'm going to challenge them," she turned around before Mandy stopped her.

"If there's one thing you don't do, it's go back after being rejected," she said quietly, her engine almost overpowering her words.

"What are they going to do to me?" she asked angrily.

"Abby, calm down," Dakota said, nudging her with a tire, "Class is going to start soon. You'll get your chance."

"What are you doing?" Mandy hissed, worried.

"All the new kids go through it," she said, "Remember?"

Mandy sighed, "We'll be here for you," she settled, "We need to get to class, though."

All of the cars filed into the building, and Abby finally learned where the sixth grade classroom was. As the others took their places at their desks, Abby stayed just inside the door, unsure of where to go. The same crossover car drove into the room, immediately noticing Abby, "I didn't realize you'd be in my class," she said kindly, "I'm Ms. Huxley. Class," she said gently, "This is Abigail Tessari," she introduced.

"You can call me Abby," she corrected.

"Okay, Abby," she said, "there's an open spot next to Henri," she gestured to the end of the back row, and Abby thanked her before nervously moving to her new desk.

"What are you doing here, mutt?" Henri asked, taking the words of his leader.

"Being in a classroom, what else?"

"No, here," he said, "There's no halfway transfers, ever," he practically growled, making her back up a little in surprise. "And then you go and try and take our track," he muttered, his engine becoming a little more audible.

"I just wanted to race!" she protested.

"Good to see that we're getting along," Ms. Huxley said with a hint of sarcasm, "Henri, behave," she said from the front of the class before she began her lesson.

Miles made it back to the house to check on Estella, but he didn't find her in the bed. Frantically looking around, he found her in one of the back rooms, smoke emerging from under her hood.

"I suppose that's why you slept in," he said.

"A 'good morning' would be nice," she said, obviously in a bad mood.

"I'm going to call Finn," he said.

"Why? Don't you already know the number of the medic?"

He rolled his eyes, "True," he admitted before going into the next room to find the video phone on the wall, partially activated, "How did she-?" He didn't finish his thought as he called the correct number, where one of the doctors came online.

"Hello, Mr. Axlerod," he said formally, "What happened this time?"

"Not me, Estella. She says she's not sure, but her engine's smoking and she can't move."

"I'm sending someone right now," he said, "Just be sure to turn your hologram on this time," he joked a little before blinking off the screen. Before he forgot, he turned his blue hologram back on, driving back into the next room.

"On their way," he said quickly, "need anything?"

"An engine that didn't break would be nice," she said sarcastically, "Abby made it to school, right?"

"Everything's fine over there, I made sure of it," he said, "I think I'm going to leave a note for Abby… I have a feeling Finn and Londyn are going to need to babysit."

"Why don't you just stay behind?"

"I'm not going to leave you," he said seriously, but smirking a little.

"You just want to annoy Finn, don't you?" she inferred.

"Of course," he replied as the doorbell rang, "Probably for you," he said, leaving the room.

It finally got around to recess at Oakdrift, and despite Dakota's and Mandy's attempts, the first thing Abby did was go back to the racetrack, where the three boys were hanging out.

"What are you doing here?" Bruce growled, "Didn't you learn your lesson?"

"Apparently not," she replied with an air of confidence, "I challenge all three of you to a race."

The boys snickered, "Okay, mutt," Bruce spoke for them, "One lap, no rules."

"Fine!" she said, taking her place at the starting line and causing a gathering to begin forming around the race track. A nameless car waved a makeshift flag, and the race was on. She would have loved the feeling of pure speed, but she just wanted to win at this point. Observing her surroundings, she saw that Henri and Shard stayed together, but Bruce was ahead of them both. She was in last place. Pouring on speed, she was able to pass the 'twins', encroaching on the neon green car in the lead. Allowing herself to have another small boost towards the end, she passed him. He flared his headlights in anger, causing it to reflect in her mirrors and into her eyes, causing her to instinctively slow down. Bruce crossed the finish line, laughing, but she finished before the other two did.

"That wasn't fair!" she protested, "You blinded me!"

"No rules," he reminded her, "now get off of our track."

She drove off of the track in a huff, looking for her friends, who were waiting close by.

"You could have crashed," Mandy said.

"But I didn't," she replied.

"You were so close to winning," Dakota encouraged, "Not even Mandy got that close."

"Same trick," Mandy added, "Almost ran into Shard after he did it to me."

Abby didn't want to give in, "What about a rematch?" she asked, turning around as she had before, and Dakota stopping her.

"We already talked about this. If you want to survive, you keep away from them."

"I don't care," she said impulsively, driving back over to the boys again.

"You again?!" Shard said this time.

"Right, Sherlock," she replied, making the silver car turn bright red, "I challenge all three of you to a rematch."

"You're just wasting our time," the green car replied, arrogance in his tone.

"You said 'no rules', so that means unlimited tries, too, right?"

"Come on, it'll be funny," Henri snickered.

"Fine," Bruce gave in, annoyed, taking his spot at the starting line again. Abby looked over at him, and for the first time was nervous. She revved her engine, wondering what her top speed was, and if she could handle it. The flag was waved again, and she rocketed off of the starting line and towards the first turn, in front of Shard, who hung back a little, but behind the other two. She could see Shard trying to flare his headlights, but he was too far back for it to affect her. Flaring her own as bright as she could, she was able to take out Henri, causing him to fall back. Attempting the same with Bruce, she got no result before realizing that he didn't have mirrors. Getting another idea as the finish line got closer, she pulled up next to him, pushing her engine farther than ever before. He looked to the side, somewhat startled by the flash of red paint, causing him to lose his focus for a second, and the finish line to greet her before him. Screeching to a halt, Abby tried to take in what she had done.

Mandy and Dakota pulled over to her, "How did you do that?"

"No idea," she replied, elated. Her engine, while not rattling, was aching from the sudden use, so she turned it off. "I've never raced like that before."

"Well, you're a race car," Mandy said, jumping in for once, "I don't know what spooked him, though. Either way, you're lucky. Great job," she smiled.

"Thanks," Abby said, and she turned around again, just to make sure the other racers didn't follow her, but she found all of the other spectators did, about 5 or 6 for the second one.

"You're the leader of the track now," a blue Audi said quietly, "What are the rules about it?"

She glanced over to see the three boys looking angrily at her, fueling her triumph, "Open to all," she said bluntly before driving over to the losers of the race, "What's the problem?" she asked, unfeeling.

Bruce glared at her, "Girls—"

"No," she said firmly, "Girls can race; in fact, anyone can race if they want to. For the first time I'm around cars my age, and I can't believe they're like this," she finished before driving back to her friends, her engine hurting a little, but rapidly feeling better.

The rest of recess progressed with Abby leading, and even cars not built to race trying out the racetrack that looked untouched for the most part. The three bullies were snickering on another part of the playground. When the class finally went back into the classroom, the teacher gave her the work needed to make sure she was caught up. Abby stared at the packets, trying to discern what the practice problems were supposed to say, but put them away to work on them at home, more interested in the lesson on basic physics than the math problems.

The bell rang, dismissing the students, and Abby drove out to the front with Mandy and Dakota. Looking for Miles among the crowd of cars waiting to pick up their children, she found her trailer, but it was Finn that was pulling it, looking somewhat unhappy, but Londyn was with him, smiling and waving her over with her tire.

A/N: Cliffhanger! Sorry, I had to… like what happens with Doctor Who. You get a huge cliffhanger right before a longer hiatus :P. I might update IRII, possibly, but I doubt it before the end of the year (which is the 22 for me).

Thanks for reading :)
