Chapter 8

Ross POV

I couldn't get my mind off of Jillian. Sure, she had only left bout a week ago, and we'd been facetiming, but it still wasn't the same. It wasn't the same as feeling her kiss linger on my lips. It wasn't the same as her hand clutching mine. It wasn't the same as feeling her body heat radiating off of her.

Jillian POV

I'd only left a week ago, but I missed Ross already. We'd been facetiming and all, but it wasn't the same. It wasn't the same as eating ice cream in the middle of the night with him. It wasn't the same as him coming up from behind me and putting his arms around my waist. It wasn't the same as playing footsies under the table during dinner.

My phone started ringing. Speak of the devil...

"Hey," I said, "I was just thinking about you."

"Same," he said before laughing.

"Why can't guys giggle?"

"What?" he asked, very confused.

"Never mind."

"Ummmm, okay. Anyway, what's going on?"

There's something not right here, but I answered, "Nothing, what's going on with you, babe?"

"Just hanging with friends."

"Then why'd you call?"

"Just checking up on you."

"Oh, that's so nice." Things are getting very awkward on this call. I heard Ross say something, but it wasn't to me. I think it was "I'll be down in a second." I shake my head just forgetting about it. "Okay, I'll talk to you later."

"Bye," I said hanging up the phone. Something weird was going on.

Ross POV
I hope she didn't think anything was up. I mean something was up, but I didn't want her to know that. It hadn't exactly been my idea to go to the strip club. "Calum, I'm pretty sure I shouldn't be here. I do have a girlfriend."

"Yeah, a girlfriend who is 3,000 miles away. Just relax, dude, it's my birthday party."

"Umm, you have a girlfriend, too. And she isn't 3000 miles away."

"Yeah, but Tay-Tay is going to run out of song ideas if we don't break up soon."

I laugh, that may be true. Somehow, even though I hadn't know Jillian nearly as long as he had known Taylor, we were a lot more serious. "I still don't feel very comfortable with this."

"Dude, just chill. You'll enjoy this, trust me."

As the stripper approached me, wearing only a red thong and a matching bra with rhinestones on it. She had dark brown hair and brown eyes. GOD, SHE WAS SMOKIN'. You have got to stop thinking like that, Ross! You have a girlfriend! "Hi, I'm Sunshine," she says to me with a seductive smile.

"Uh, hey," I say shyly.

"What's your name, lover boy?"

"Uh, Ross."

"Oh, so what brings you here, Ross?"

"A friend's birthday."

"Well, you're going to enjoy yourself tonight."

"Umm, I need to go to the bathroom." I high-tailed it out of there and over to some place I would have never though I would be in this situation.

"Hey, Ross," Laura said as she opened the door to her apartment.

"Um, hey," I answer.

"Come in," she said, "Can I get you anything? Beer? Coffee? Water?"

"Water's fine, thanks."

She handed me a glass of ice cold water. I stared at the condensation slipping off the glass as I wondered to myself what was going on here. "No problem," she replies, "What brings you here?"

"I don't really know. I just have a lot on my mind, and I didn't want to talk to Raini since what happened the last time I spoke to her, and Calum isn't really listening."

"Well, I'm always here for you if you need me. So, what's going on?"

"I just don't know what to do."

"Jillian?"

"Yeah, it's a lot harder than I though it was going to be."

"Why don't you go and see her, Ross. Let her know what's going on. I think it'll really help if you two just see each other, again."

I smiled, she was right. "You're right, thanks."

"You're welcome, anything you need, Austin," she says sarcastically with a smile on her face.

I had bought a plane ticket and was on the plane. All I could think about was Jillian, Jillian, Jillian...

Jillian POV

"Oh, Reanna, I can't stop thinking about that phone call."

"Look, I would give you advice, but I have plans to go to the movies with Mike."

"You're basically dating two guys at once."

"I respectfully informed Riker that there is nothing going on between us. I've got to go, but try not to think about it too much, okay?"

"Okay," I say as I lead her out of the door.

I pick up the latest novel I'm reading and sit down on my couch when I hear a knock on my door. Could you imagine if it was Ross? I thought.

I open the door to a 6 foot tall, blonde haired, brown eyed cutie.
