A/N: Why don't we just get to the new chapter?

Instead of going to the cafeteria for lunch today, I decided to go outside to the rarely used picnic tables. It rains so often here that the tables don't get much use, but for once it was raining. The sky was still a blanket of grey clouds that looked ready to release a shower of water on the town at any time. I didn't care though. I just wanted to be out in the fresh air rather than sat in a large room with smelly and annoying teenagers, who would just get on my nerves.
I was not expecting to see Alice waiting for me when I went outside. To say I was surprised was an understatement. She wasn't looking my way, but I knew that she knew I was there. Her plump red lips lifted into a small smile, and then twin pools of gold seemed to be staring into the deepest parts of my soul.
"Hey." Her voice was smooth like silk, and I found myself thinking I could listen to it for the rest of eternity.
"Hey. What are you doing here?" I responded.
"I had a feeling you were going to be here, so I figured you could use some company. You're too much of a loner sometimes, Bella."
"I thought your visions didn't work on me?" I questioned, feeling confused as to how she knew I'd be here.
"They don't completely, but sometimes I get a really blurry one. Like I'm getting bad reception or there's interference. So that's how I knew you'd be here, or actually around this area. Since I didn't know exactly where you'd be, I decided to just wait here for you." She explained.
"I see. Stalking me now, are you?" I asked with a raised eyebrow and a slight smirk.
"N-no. I can go if you want to be alone. You know what? That's actually a good idea. I'm just going to go now." I swear if vampires could blush Alice's face would be as red as a tomato.
"Hey, I was just teasing Alice. You don't have to leave. Some company would be nice." I smiled gently to show her I was being serious.
"Okay." She smiled shyly back at me. I sat next to her on the table she had been reclining on since I had walked up.
"So what's your story, Alice? If you don't mind me asking, that is." I looked over to see a shadow darken her face. I must have hit on a sensitive topic.
"I don't know my story. All I remember is waking up like this, and everything after. Nothing from before." She said this so quietly that even my super hearing almost didn't pick it up.
"Oh. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked." I looked away feeling stupid for asking.
"No. It's okay. I've come to terms with the fact that my brain obviously doesn't want me to remember my life from before this, and that's okay. I love my life now. I couldn't ask for a better family. I mean, sure sometimes I wish I knew who I had been, but in the end it doesn't matter. I am who I am now, because of the people I have around me. So, it's okay." It seemed as if she had put a lot of thought into this subject, and I'm sure she had.
"I respect you. If it was me that couldn't remember my past, I'd do everything I could to figure out what happened. You, on the other hand, don't care about that. You care about the here and now. You've accepted the fact that no matter what you find out, you won't be able to change it, so what does it matter. Sometimes I wish I couldn't remember my past, but it never seems to be too far from my mind at any given moment."
"I'm sorry." Alice genuinely said.
"Don't be. It doesn't matter. What's done is done. I can't change what happened all those years ago. I've realized that everything happens for a reason. I may not know the reason why that happened to me, but there was a reason. Just like there's a reason why you can't remember your human life. You may not understand, but you will one day. Just like I will."
"You're very wise." Alice sounded surprised by her observation.
"Don't sound so surprised. I have been around for over 400 years. You tend to learn things, and you have plenty of time for self reflection when you travel alone for most of your life." I jabbed her lightly in the ribs with my elbow.
"This is true, I suppose." She tried to shove me, but unbeknownst to her I was using her power and knew it was coming. I jumped out of the way of her searching hands, while at the same time pulling her from her seat. She was so surprised that she didn't even throw her hands out to catch her fall, and instead fell face first into the grass. She hopped up super fast though, and glared at me.
I was just about to mess with her some more when the bell dismissing lunch rang.
"Awe school always ruins my fun. Oh well, I guess we should start heading to our classes. I'll see you after school though." I smiled as I turned away from her. I failed to see her shaking her head at me in exasperation.
As I was sitting in my seventh period class, I felt the sensation of being watched. Instead of looking around and giving away the fact that I knew I was being watched, I kept my head down as if still working on my assignment for the day, while in reality I was using Edward's power to figure out who was watching me. None of the students in my class were paying any attention to me, which was normal after the Jessica incident. I'm pretty sure they were all afraid of me now.
I was just about to chalk it up to nothing, when I came across the thoughts of someone I was not expecting to be anywhere near me.
"James." I whispered, quietly enough that the vampire hiding in the forest near the school would not hear me. I knew that if James was here, then Victoria would not be far away. To avoid tipping James off to the fact that I know he's here, I would wait until after school ended to confront him and his mate.
After class let out, I headed to my car only to find that Alice was waiting for me once again.
"Hey, I figured you wouldn't mind if I rode with you to our house." She said as soon as I was within human earshot. I didn't want to get them involved in something that has nothing to do with them, so I quickly came up with an excuse for me to go home by myself before I went to the Cullen house.
"Normally, I wouldn't mind, but I have a personal issue I need to take care of first. Then, I'll meet you at your place, okay?"
"Oh, okay. Sure." I tried to ignore the tone of disappointment in her voice, but it was hard. I knew I needed to deal with this alone though. i quickly got in my car and drove towards my house, knowing James and Victoria would follow me.
I parked and then sat on the hood of my car, waiting for them to show their faces.
"Well, well, well. If it isn't the filthy little hybrid."
"That voice. Still like nails on a chalkboard." I turned to see the ruby eyed, red headed, vampire Victoria. That wiped the smirk right off her face. I looked around, but didn't see any sign of the blonde headed James.
"Where's you pathetic little boyfriend, Victoria?" I sneered.
"Awe, I can see you missed me, Isabella." The hairs on the back of my neck stood at attention, when that voice came from behind me.
"Hello, James. Obviously, you're the one who missed me, since you can't seem to leave me alone." I made sure to keep both vampires in my line of sight as I stood.
"I'm not the one who missed you, but someone here did. I'm sure you missed him just as much." James had a sadistic smile on his face as he said that. That threw me for a loop since there was only one person he could be talking about, but no. He wouldn't show his face to me. Not now. Not after all these years.
"Hello, Isabella." That voice sent shivers down my spine, as my mind immediately recalled the last time I had heard it. The day my parents were murdered. I turned with anger and murder blazing in my eyes and heart, to see the very person I have sworn my life to kill.
"Fredrico." I snarled.
A/N: Yep. That's where I'm leaving it. Don't hate me. Review :)
