Jake opened his eyes and tried to register where he was. There was no Becky, and he was in his bedroom, not hers. That was when he realized it was a dream, and he couldn't help but feel disappointed. Jake realized his legs were tangled in his sheets and his forehead was damp with sweat. He quickly yanked the covers off him and sat up, running his hand through his soaked hair. He had been dreaming of her; it was as if she was trapped in his mind. Awake or not, she was all he thought of, and he desperately felt like talking to someone about it. Jake glanced at the clock and noticed it was 8:45. Surely Charlie was awake? He took a deep breath and got up.

"Charlie?" Jake poked his head into his older brother's room. A shadow of a boy sat up from his bed, not seen by the lack of light in the room.

"Jake, is that you?" Charlie asked, to which Jake nodded and emerged fully into the room. He stood there, fiddling his thumbs.

"What's up?" Charlie yawned loudly and rubbed sleep from his eyes.

"I-I need to talk to you about something…"

Charlie sat up and looked at him expectantly.

"How do you approach a girl? I mean, romantically or whatever."

"Becky, huh? Charlie asked. Jake feigned shock, but really he wasn't surprised his brother already knew. It wasn't as if Jake's crush was a big secret anyways.

"Listen, what I think you should do is just ask her out. It's obvious you like her so why not? The worst that can happen is she says no, but you guys can still be friends. He advised.

Jake's eyes widened. Ask her out? He didn't think he had the guts to! "But, but, I'm sort of afraid of rejection. If she says no.. I think I'd rather just stay friends, to avoid the embarrassment."

Charlie sighed. "But if you don't ask her out, eventually you'll regret it when we leave and you'll never know if she would have said yes or not."

Jake nodding, understanding that his brother was probably right.

"Thanks," he said, sighing. "I appreciate the advice. But I guess all I can do is go back to bed and see if I can catch a bit more sleep." He got up and walked to the door.

"Say hi to Becky for me!" Charlie joked with a laugh.
