Thin rays of light streamed through Beth's curtains and onto her face. Beth knit her eyebrows together and yawned. It took her a couple of seconds before she snapped out of the sleepy haze and felt Daryl's arm wrapped tightly around her waist. Beth thought about staying in bed for a while longer before she remembered that she had to be on campus in an hour to pick up her schedule and her photography equipment.

Beth slowly unwrapped Daryl's arm from around her and silently slid out of bed, careful not to wake him up. Beth grabbed a pair of jean shorts and and a light blue sweater before tiptoeing to the bathroom. Beth pulled her clothes on and ran a comb through her golden waves before applying foundation and mascara and brushing her teeth. Beth glanced at Daryl, who was still deeply sleeping and grabbed her keys and phone. Beth slipped her feet into her sandals and left the apartment as quietly as she could.

Beth jogged down to her car and immediately started it, needing relief from the hot muggy Georgia air. Beth was excited to get her new photography equipment, she had been looking forward to it ever since she got her scholarship.

After a few minutes of driving and blasting Lana Del Rey's new EP on her stereo, she pulled up to campus. GSU campus was huge and a bit intimidating. Beth took a deep breath and grabbed her shoulder bag before getting out of her car. Beth walked down the sidewalk until she saw the main building. She walked inside and was immediately greeted with a less than thrilled secretary.

"Are you lost?" The rude woman asked. Beth cleared her throat and spoke up.

"Uh, no. Actually, I came to get my student ID and my photography equipment." Beth said, gaining composure. The woman looked her over and wrinkled her nose. A brunette woman walked up behind the secretary and mumbled something before turning her attention to Beth.

"You're Beth Greene, right?" The brunette woman asked with a friendly smile. Beth nodded and looked at her questioningly.

"I'm Lori Grimes, your photography professor. I have your equipment in the back of you'd give me a second, sweetie." Lori said in a chipper tone. Beth already knew that she was going to love her course. Lori emerged from the room behind the front desk carrying a brown box.

"Okay. There's your Nikon that you pre-ordered." Lori said, before grabbing a manilla envelope with Beth's name on it and handing it to her.

"In the envelope is your first assignment and your student ID. If you haven't already bought a Mac Book Pro, you need to do so before classes start. You'll not only need it for my class, but you'll need it for others as well." Lori said as she marked Beth's name off of the list in front of her.

"Thank you Mrs. Grimes." Beth said as she put the manilla envelope into her bag and tucked the box under her arm.

"Oh, please call me Lori. Mrs. Grimes makes me feel old, I'll see you in two weeks sweetie! Make sure to check online for your class schedule." Lori said as she sat down behind the desk and began to type on her laptop. Beth smiled and left the office. Not paying any attention to where she was going, she ran into someone causing her to drop her box and to fall flat on her ass.

"Yo! Watch where you're going! Shit." A familiar voice said, Beth looked over to find none other than Jesse Pinkman. Jesse looked over to find Beth's shocked face and his jaw dropped.

"Jesse? You go here?" Beth asked incredulously. Jesse rolled his eyes and got to his feet. Jesse was the biggest pot head in her grade, not to mention that he dealt drugs on the side.

"Don't sound too surprised." Jesse said as he straightened the beanie on his head. Beth face tinged pink as she bent down to pick up her box.

She always felt like everyone underestimated Jesse when they were in high school. He had his moments, but he wasn't all that bad. Beth could remember having the biggest crush on him sophomore, junior and senior year, his straight white teeth and his bad boy reputation drove her crazy.

"I'm not..uh..what classes are you taking?" Beth stuttered as she shifted the box under her arm.

"Just the basics. I mean, it's whatever man. Hey, I better get my shit from the office. See ya later?" Jesse said as he began to turn towards the main building. Beth nodded quickly and turned on her heel.

When Beth slid into her car, he phone started to ring. Beth pulled it out of her pocket and looked at the caller ID. It was Daryl, what was he doing up already? She had only been gone for thirty minutes.

"Hello?" Beth asked, waiting for Daryl to speak up.

"Uh, Beth? Yeah, where are my clothes?" Daryl asked, almost shyly. Beth stifled a giggle and spoke up.

"They're in the laundry room, all you have to do is put them into the dryer. I'll be home in about ten minutes, ok?" Beth asked as she buckled her seatbelt and started her car. Daryl grunted in response and hung up.

Beth finally made it back to her apartment. She grabbed her shoulder bag and the box and headed up the stairs and to her apartment. Daryl was sprawled on her couch staring at the ceiling. Beth sat the box down on the counter and immediately went to the fridge to get a bottle of water. Beth walked over to the couch and sat down beside Daryl.

"So..are we doing anything tonight?" Beth asked tentatively, playing with the frayed threads on her shorts. Daryl nodded, but the look on his face made Beth uneasy.

"You know how I told you we wouldn't be on the streets? Well, change 'a plans." Daryl said, running his fingers through his hair. Beth felt a lump rise in her throat and her stomach felt tight. Sell on the streets?

"What do you mean 'on the streets'?" Beth asked, already knowing the answer. Daryl turned his head and looked at her, he obviously wasn't thrilled.

"We have to sell crystal, on the streets? Get it?" Daryl asked, getting impatient.

Beth nodded and took a small drink of water before picking up the tv remote. Beth turned on her Xbox and tossed the remote to Daryl. Daryl raised his eyebrows as Beth got up and got the other remote.

"We aren't leaving until later, right?" Beth asked as she turned the game on. Daryl shook his head and leaned back into the couch.

"Good because you're about to get your ass handed to you." Beth said as she quirked a smile and narrowed her eyes. Daryl raised his eyebrow and scoffed.

"Oh really? We'll see 'bout that, Beth." Daryl said challengingly.

-about 4 hours later-

"Darn it!" Beth groaned. This was the fifteenth time in a row that Daryl had won. Beth threw her head back and dropped the controller on the couch beside her.

"Yeah, I sure got my ass handed to me. Huh, Beth?" Daryl taunted, chuckling when Beth's tiny fist connected with his arm. It was dark outside and almost time for them to get out.

"I should probably get ready." Beth said tightly, being a sore loser. Beth tried to get up, but Daryl grabbed her arm and pulled her onto his lap. Beth squeaked in surprise and glared at him.

"Quit bein' such a sore loser." Daryl said, chuckling when Beth squirmed against him as she tried to get away. Beth stuck her tongue out at him and finally got up.

She flipped her blonde locks over her shoulder and strutted into her bedroom to get ready. Daryl playfully rolled his eyes and went to the laundry room to get his clothes out of the dryer. Daryl pulled his clothes on and laced up his boots and went back into the living room to find "sexy rebel Beth" waiting on the couch. Beth stood up revealing her tight black pants, Converse and tight black jacket. She smiled at Daryl as his eyes focused on her thickly lined blue eyes and red stained lips.

"Let's get goin' then." Daryl said, shifting uncomfortably to the door. Beth quickly followed suit and they went down the stairs and out onto the sidewalk. Daryl jogged ahead and started to dig around in a trash can. Beth hurried to follow him with a shocked look on her face.

"Daryl! What are you doin'?!" Beth whispered loudly. Daryl cut her a sideways glance and didn't answer. After a couple of more seconds, he pulled a bag filled with sample packages out of the trash can and put them into his pocket.

"That's our drop site. We pick up the crystal there." Daryl said quickly, moving his head to beckon her forward. Beth scurried over and began to walk silently with him. After passing by a few alleys, they heard voices. Daryl pulled her to the side and looked into her eyes intensely.

"You need to listen to everything I tell you, got it?" Daryl said, his voice serious. Beth nodded tightly and trained her eyes on him.

"We're about to make a deal with those guys down there. You need to be attached to me at all times. You need to look intimidating and stuck up. As far as those guys know, you're mine." Daryl said lowly, Beth's eyes widened and she nodded. Beth glued herself to his side as they began to walk down the alley. All four men turned around and eyed Beth.

"Yo, Dixon! I have my payme-.." A familiar voice started, but snapped his mouth shut as soon as he saw Beth. Jesse looked into Beth's eyes and his face dropped. Beth froze and tucked herself deeper into Daryl's side, catching his attention. Daryl looked back and forth between the two and realized the recognition.

"Do you have the money, Pinkman? I don't have all fuckin' night." Daryl said, getting Jesse to snap out of his intense stare with Beth. Jesse quickly handed over the money and shoved the small bag of crystal in his pocket.

Jesse looked between Beth and Daryl and when Daryl was looking the other way Jesse sneakily pointed at Daryl and shook his head with a warning. Beth raised her eyebrows. Jesse was trying to warn Beth about Daryl, but why? Jesse's eyes looked clear and earnest. What on earth was he trying to tell her?
