Monday morning had rolled in almost too soon for Tony as he lay in bed, staring at the ceiling, his alarm clock signalling the dawning of a morning in which he'd have to face Doctor Bellows once again. It seemed almost fortunate that the weekend had been an uneventful one following the happenings of the Friday just passed. He could well remember Jeannie's chagrin at his reaction to her friend and the punishment she had issued him. Of course, it had all been easily rectified with the offer of her favourite things and they had put it behind them for what had been an extremely enjoyable evening.
Perhaps even one of the most enjoyable they'd had.
Another consoling element of the weekend was the absence of Jeannie's friend. He couldn't tell whether it was through Jeannie respecting his wishes and not inviting her friend over or her friend keeping his distance, but either way he was grateful. It was easy for him to admit that it had made the weekend a lot more relaxing.
But it did little to sway the feelings he had about his impending meeting with Doctor Bellows.
Closing his eyes and sighing loudly, he ran his hands backwards over his head before sitting up. He tapped the button on his alarm and stopped its incessant buzzing as he swung his legs out and placed his feet on the floor. With a brief yawn and shake of his head he stood up, padding over to the bathroom to shower and start his day.
WWWWWWWWWWWWW
Humming gleefully to herself, Jeannie placed a steaming cafetiére on the small table in the kitchen. She looked down, surveying the table and the delights she had provided for her Master for breakfast. It was the perfect spread for a Monday morning, one that she was sure he'd enjoy with the fresh orange juice, poached eggs, bacon and toast she had prepared, albeit by blinking. As she cast her eyes over the table again she realised there was something missing. It took only seconds for her to work out what was missing and with a twirl she skipped through the back door and over to the raised flowerbed. She bit her lip as she twiddled her fingers over the flowers, her shining blue eyes trying to find the perfect one. Eventually she found one, picking it with a giggle and skipping back into the house.
She was reaching up to one of the cupboards to pull out a small vase when Tony emerged from the living area. They exchanged a quick, "Good morning," Tony sitting down at the table and unfolding the newspaper he'd collected from the driveway on his way to breakfast. Instead of his eyes focussing on the newspaper in front of him, Tony allowed them to wander over Jeannie's lithe figure. He smiled admiringly and bit his bottom lip as he took in her delicious curves – from her shoulders to her waist and further down, appreciating the shape of her…..
Tony ruffled the newspaper and cleared his throat nervously as Jeannie retrieved the vase and turned around, seemingly oblivious to the slight tinge of colour that had arisen in her Master's cheeks as he lifted the paper to disguise them. He listened as she hummed softly, filling the small vase with water. At the sound of her placing the vase on the table and sitting down opposite him he trusted that he had recovered enough composure to lower the newspaper and smiled as he folded it back up and tossed it onto the table beside him. She returned his smile as he lifted his cutlery and started his breakfast – her smile fading back slightly when she thought he had stopped looking at her and he eyes dropping as she idled with her fingers.
"So, uh," Tony began, trying to break the somewhat awkward – the reasons for it feeling so escaping him – silence that had descended between them, "Do you have any more plans to see…..Rabi - is it?"
Jeannie shook her head – a forced smile straining her lips, "No Master, I have not spoken with him since Friday."
"Oh," Tony lowered his eyes and looked down, momentarily feeling a stab of guilt at his reaction to what had appeared to be – despite the obvious issues, a perfect gentleman. "Was he very upset at how I reacted?" He asked, raising his eyes but keeping his head low.
"I think he understood," Jeannie tilted her head as she looked off into some far off space, "But I cannot say he was not unoffended."
"I must remember to apologise to him personally when I see him next. Hopefully under the right circumstances of course." The last was a clear message to Jeannie that he was standing firm on Rabi not coming to the house without an invitation from him.
Jeannie brightened as she sat up and looked at him, "Of course Master, I will make sure I have your permission before I invite him again."
Tony gave a brisk nod to indicate his approval before he looked at his watch and realised the time. He drank the last dregs of his coffee and stood up, thanking Jeannie for breakfast and left the kitchen. As he walked towards the front door he tried to feel satisfied that Jeannie wouldn't renege on her side of their agreement and corner him again as she had done the last time he was due to meet with Doctor Bellows.
As his thoughts shifted from one problem to another and his foreboding about his upcoming meeting with Doctor Bellows grew he became distracted enough to walk from the house without picking up his briefcase. He only realised he had done so when he fumbled in his pocket for his car keys. Before he could turn back and fetch it he felt a familiar ping as it materialised in his hand, his car keys appearing in his other.
"Thanks Jeannie," He said softly as he continued on towards his car.
He hoped today wasn't going to be as long as he felt it would be.
