8- Three's A Crowd

Trunks was slightly disappointed when he woke up to see that Pan had already gotten up for the day. With a stretch he sat up, noticing it was near eight. He had work today, it was a Monday after all, but the more he thought about getting ready and spending hours at his office the more he didn't want to go. He was caught up on all the paperwork, as far as he knew, so he could just check up on things later. Spending another day with Pan was much better anyways.

The delicious aroma of food hit him quickly and his mouth watered. As he entered the kitchen, Pan just finished sitting a plate of pancakes on the table.

"Hi!" She greeted him brightly. "Good morning! I just finished breakfast," she chirped.

"Good morning," Trunks greeted back, taking a seat with her. "Thanks for breakfast," he told her before they began eating.

It was amazing to Pan how much of a routine they had gotten into. They talked over breakfast and when the meal was done, Trunks helped her clean up.

"Are you going to be around here for a while?" She asked him once all the dishes were squared away in the dishwasher.

"I guess?" He raised a lavender brow towards her in confusion.

She smiled softly, "I need to go take a shower, but Papa's suppose to be calling me soon. So if he calls, will you answer my phone for me please?"

"Sure," he told her with a grin.

"Thank you!" She grinned before skipping up the stairs.

It wasn't ten minutes later when her phone began to ring.

"Hello?" Trunks answered it like she had asked him too.

"Trunks?" Came Gohan's very confused voice.

"Yeah, hi," he greeted. "Panna just went upstairs to take a shower and she mentioned you'd might call. She wanted me to answer her phone for her in case you did," he explained, already assuming that it was what Gohan was wondering.

Gohan let out a sigh, that sounded very much like relief and Trunks wasn't exactly sure why.

"Do you want me to tell her to call you back?" Trunks asked instead.

"No, it's fine," Gohan assured him. "I was just calling her to let her know that the conferences will be ending sooner than expected so Videl and I will be heading back sometime tomorrow and we'll stop on our way back to get her."

"Ah," Trunks said, a little disappointed. He honestly wasn't wanting Pan to leave; it felt so nice having her there with him. "I bet she'll be happy to hear that. I'll let her know."

"Thanks Trunks..." Gohan replied back. He made a noise like he wanted to say some else before he sighed. "Well, I'll talk to you tomorrow! Goodbye!"

"Bye...?" Trunks looked down at Pan's phone, seeing that Gohan had already ended the call. He couldn't help but notice that it was a little strange. He shook his head slowly, placing Pan's phone back on the table.

He only had today and tomorrow left with her, and he wanted it to be special. Perhaps another day out in the city? He could take her to lunch and to see a movie? He nodded as he headed up the stairs, what a great plan that was.

A few hours later as Trunks walked the streets of West City with Pan on his arm, he didn't know how he got so lucky. Beside him, Pan was a beauty. She had on a pale pink shirt, the sleeves were rolled up fashionably and the front of it was tied, exposing some of her pale stomach. The light blue shorts she had on hugged her hips, covering most of the rest of her stomach. Still, Trunks could see a good inch of it, and her legs... Her shorts hardly left anything to the imagination. She wore some sporty white sneakers with her outfit, and her hair was done up in a messy bun with a white bandanna wrapped around her head.

Trunks himself, was wearing a black bandanna around his head, his lavender hair poking out over it. He had on a simple white v-neck tee, the short-sleeves rolled up slightly with a pair of light blue jeans and white sneakers. Thinking about it now, they were kinda matching...he figured he should have made some attempt to disguise himself, because already he could see people staring at him and Pan, but he found himself not caring.

"So where are we going?" Pan asked with a smile as she looked up at him.

"I was thinking lunch, and then a movie?" He raised a lavender eyebrow towards her.

"Oh," her eyes lit up in excitement. "That'll be fun!"

He chuckled, "what movie would you like to see?"

Before Pan could reply, someone called out Trunks' name. They turned to see a tall, chesty brunette walking up to them. She carried herself proudly, her brown eyes shinning.

"Oh wow," she smiled at Trunks, and Pan felt her eyes narrowing slightly as she held onto his arm tightly. "It's been so long!"

"Gia..." Trunks nodded towards her. Gia had been his on-again-off-again girlfriend for a few years and about a year ago when they broke up for the third time, Trunks decided that it would be for good. Plus, he wasn't that interested in Gia anyways, and he had a hunch that she was only interested in him because of his looks and money.

Pan couldn't help but frown. Trunks knew who this new woman was, and obviously he knew her well. She couldn't help but feel a bit jealous... This Gia, was beautiful, full of curves and her breasts... Pan couldn't help be bit self conscious looking at her.

"How have you been? Gia asked before she spotted Pan. She noticed the way the teen was holding onto Trunks and she couldn't help but scoff. He used to never let her do that to him in public! He was all about the 'no PDA'. "Who are you?" She tucked a thick strand of curly brown hair behind her ear.

"Pan," she answered immediately. Gia may be pretty, but Pan wasn't about to let herself be intimidated.

"Trunks-" both girls called at the same time. They sent one another a glare as Trunks glanced between them. All he wanted to do at the moment was throw Pan over his shoulder and run.

"You never call anymore," Gia huffed, crossing her arms over her chest and lowering the already low cut of her hot pink shirt.

Trunks wasn't tempted, and he kept his eyes on her as he spoke. "We broke up a year ago, Gia. I told you I was done. I've had nothing to say to you," he said honestly.

"Trunks..." Pan's hand slid from his arm to his hand. She noticed how Gia watched the move with wide eyes and she sent her a small smirk before looking back at Trunks. She started to walk backwards, pulling him along with her. "I'm hungry..."

Trunks smile at her brightly, his grip on her hand tightening. "Where would you like to go?"

"I hear Hobi's is great," Gia spoke up with a grin as she started walking beside Trunks. "How about we all go there and we can catch up?" She raised a dark eyebrow but before Trunks could answer she walked ahead, passing a glaring Pan with a smirk.

When they got to Hobi's the waiter lead them right to a booth towards the back. Gia slid into one side, and Pan on the other, leaving Trunks with a choice. His answer was obvious, and slid in beside Pan with ease. He rested his arm on the back of the booth and she rested against him with a pleased smile as she looked at a fuming Gia.

"So Pan," Gia spoke after their meals had been ordered. "You look pretty young," she rested her elbows on the table and folded her hands together before resting her chin on them. "How old are you exactly?"

"I'm sixteen," Pan answered, though she didn't quite know why. All she really wanted to say was to tell Gia to mind her own business.

"Sixteen?" Her eyes widened as she looked at Trunks, who wasn't looking at her. "What are you doing babysitting a teenager?" She said it in a teasing manner, but Pan knew she meant it hatefully.

"Actually, it's the other way around," Pan cut in coolly. "I'm sure you're aware of how much of a troublemaker Trunks can be."

"Hey," he pouted. "I'm better than I was."

Pan giggled, "are you sure? Cause Bulla tells me interesting stories-"

Trunks let out a small groan, "please stop talking to my sister."

"No way!" Pan was giggling even more now as she grinned. "She's my bff!"

Gia cleared her throat in annoyance. Pan knew Trunks' sister as well? She had tried several times to get close to the heiress of Capsule Corp, but Bulla would never give her the time of day! But she's buddying it up with Pan?!

"How long have you two known each other?" Gia asked with a pout.

"Forever," Trunks answered that one. "I've known her ever since she was born. She's Goten's niece."

"No kidding," Gia tilted her head as she looked at Pan. "I can't see the resemblance."

"You're the first," Pan muttered. Usually people always commented on how much her and Goten did look alike. They got mistaken for siblings all the time.

"Speaking of Goten," Gia continued as if Pan hadn't spoken. "I heard him and Marron finally got married."

"Yeah, they did," Trunks nodded.

"I'm sorry I couldn't make it to wedding, I've been so busy," she sighed, giving her head a light shake.

Trunks rolled his eyes. He knew for a fact that Gia wasn't even invited to the wedding. Goten nor Marron hadn't liked her while he was dating her, and when he told them that they had broken up for good, they were so happy.

"So, what about you, Mister?" Gia raised a brow towards him. "Are you still 'anti-marriage?"

Trunks blinked slowly. "I was never anti-marriage," he told her with a frown.

"Oh, well you would never talk to me about it," Gia told him sadly.

"The longest we ever dated at a time was what? Five months?" He raised a lavender eyebrow towards her. "It would be ridiculous to think of such a commitment that soon."

Pan snickered at Gia's frown, but the brunette simply huffed a little.

"And what about now? Are you dating anyone?"

"No," Trunks answered, his eyes shifting over to Pan for just a second. She was keeping her head down though.

"What about you?" Gia raised a brow at Pan, "are you seeing anyone?"

"No," Pan told her, unsure of why she was asking.

"Not surprising," Gia muttered as she took a sip of her drink.

Trunks' eye twitched, about to retort something back when Pan laughed. "Yeah," she nodded. "I guess it is, but at least I don't spread my legs for a guy at the first sign of attention."

When Gia choked on her drink, Trunks had to hide his smirk and Pan looked all too pleased with herself.

Pan stretched as she exited the restaurant with Trunks, and unfortunately, Gia was right behind them. Trunks reached down and grabbed her hand, taking her by surprise, and he simply just grinned at her as she blushed lightly.

Gia frowned at the two of them, but didn't say anything about their hands. Trunks used to never hold her hands like that... "So where to now?"

Pan felt her eye twitch. Couldn't that woman just leave them alone? It was her last day with Trunks, and she was wanting to make the most of it.

"Well, Panna and I were going to watch a movie," Trunks said, purposely leaving Gia out and hoping she'd get a hint.

"Panna?" Gia raised a dark brow.

"My nickname for her," Trunks told her harshly. She had been Panna to him ever since she was three and he was eleven. He had spent most of that summer of his eleventh year over at Goten's and Pan was there a lot as well since Chi-Chi watched her. She had gone through a banana phase where the fruit would be the only thing she'd eat. Her nickname had started off Pan-banana, the Pan-nana and eventually it was just Pan-na.

"How cute," Gia muttered. "Movies it is then."

Trunks shared an annoyed look with Pan before he let out a long sigh and followed Gia to the theater with Pan.

Thankfully, since it was a Monday afternoon, it wasn't very crowded. Trunks was just about to ask Pan what she would like to watch when Gia spoke up.

"Let's watch Hallow Graves!" She pointed to a poster of a hand clawing at dirt as the person crawled up a grave.

Trunks rolled his eyes. He had watched the movie with Goten as soon as it came out and both of them were sourly disappointed. The acting was way over-dramatic and there were a lot of unnecessary gore moments. The main reason he didn't want to watch it though was because of Pan.

"Let's not," Trunks said, glancing at Pan.

"Oh," Gia covered her mouth to hide a snicker as she looked at Pan. "Are you scared of horror movies?"

"No," Pan narrowed her eyes at her with a glare. "If that's what you're wanting to watch then let's watch it. I don't care," she stuck her nose in the air.

Trunks gave her a look but she shook her head gently, silently telling him that she would be okay. Or at least she hoped she would be...

Once they got seated, Trunks wasn't surprised to find himself in the middle. Gia placed her arm on the armrest, her hand prompt up as if asking Trunks to hold her hand like he was Pan. He ignored it, and gave Pan's hand a gentle squeeze. She let out a small sigh, squeezing his hand back as she rested her head against his arm. He leaned over, giving her head a gentle kiss. She pretended to not feel it, but he could see the way her cheeks flamed.

The movie had only been playing for fourty-five minutes, and Trunks was already bored. Gia was engrossed in it, but Pan...she still had her head down as her finger traced the holes in her shorts. Trunks was sure she hadn't watched any of the movie. He leaned down, whispering in her ear. "Let's leave..."

She glanced up at him in confusion. "Aren't you watching it?" She whispered back.

"Nah, it's boring," he shook his head with a small grin. He stood up, helping her stand as well so she could lead them out.

They were only halfway out of the aisle when a whistle came out from behind them. Trunks felt something inside of him tighten. What gave that man the right to catcall Pan like that? His lips rose in a low growl, showing his sharp teeth. It was obvious by how the the whistling immediately stopped that they had heard him.

Pan didn't speak as she tugged on his hand to get his attention so they could finish leaving. It wasn't until they were out in the lobby that Trunks spoke.

"Are you okay?"

"Yes," she gave him a soft smile. "I'm sorry you had to leave the movie because of me."

"Don't be," Trunks chuckled. "I watched it with Goten a few weeks ago. It wasn't that good," he crinkled his nose, causing her to laugh.

"Well thank you then," she told him. "I'm going to use the bathroom right quick and then we can do whatever, okay?"

"Alright," he nodded. "I'll be waiting for you."

As soon as Pan disappeared, Gia came stomping out the theater. "What the hell, Trunks!" She hissed at him, her eyes narrowed into slights.

"What?" He crossed his arms in annoyance as he raised a lavender eyebrow. What could possibly be her problem now?

"What was that back in there?" She pointed towards the theater. "Were you growling? Even if she is Goten's niece- what are you doing with her, Trunks? Are you trying to make me jealous?" She asked, raising a brow. She looked so hopeful.

"Are you fucking serious?" Trunks asked her in disbelief. "I haven't talked to you in over a year. How the hell was I suppose to know that you would be at the same place. You're so fucking full of yourself," he told her, starting to grow angry.

Gia straightened her back, her arms crossing over her chest as a blush of embarrassment rose up on her cheeks. "Pan...you like her."

"She is a friend," he rolled his eyes.

"You say that, but your eyes tell a completely different story," Gia shook her head. "I'm not a dunce, Trunks. I saw the way you looked at her- a way that you never once looked at me. The way you held her hand like you were afraid she was going to disappear."

Trunks felt his eye twitching. "It's none of your business," he finally growled to her. And really, it wasn't. But he couldn't help but wonder if what she said was actually true. He knew he glanced at her a few times during their meal, and yes he did grab her hand because he wanted her close to him.

"Whatever," Gia rolled her eyes. "I'm going back in there to finish watching the movie. If you don't want to babysit anymore, you're more than welcome to come join me."

Trunks was half tempted to throw a ki blast after her. His father would have been proud of that. Instead, his frown deepened. Like hell he would go back in there to watch a movie with her! He had gotten rid of her for a reason, he didn't want her back. And then there was Pan...she caused him so many feelings that sometimes he forgot to think around her- he just acted. She was like a magnet, and he wanted to be as close as he possibly could be to her.

"Hey," Pan spoke, walking up to him. "Are you okay?" She asked worriedly when she saw his frown.

"Yeah," he smiled once he saw her. "Sorry, Gia came out here and was her bitchy self," he told her and she frowned. "But don't worry, I think I got rid of her. So it's just me and you," he sent her a wink as he held out his hand to her.

The smile she sent him made his heart skip a beat.
