In the cave…
Jack said, "Just hear me out, mate. You order your men to row out to the Dauntless. They do what they do best. Robert's your Uncle, Fannie's your Aunt, there you are with two ships. The makings of your very own fleet. 'Course you'll take the grandest as your flagship, and who's to argue? But what of the Pearl? Name me Captain, I'll sail under your colors, I'll give you ten percent of me plunder and you get to introduce yourself as…Commodore Barbossa. Savvy?"
Barbossa thought about this. "I s'pose in exchange, you want me not to kill the whelp."
Jack shook his head. "No, no, not at all by all means, kill the whelp. Just not yet. Wait to lift the curse until the opportune moment. For instance…" He picked up a few medallions. "after you've killed Norrington's men…" He threw them back as he spoke. "every… last… one." He pocketed one.
Will saw Jack take a piece of the gold. He spat, "You've been planning this from the beginning. Ever since you learned my name."
Jack said airily, "Yeah."
Barbossa looked at him. "I want fifty percent of your plunder."
Jack challenged, "Fifteen."
Barbossa said, "Forty."
Jack said, "Twenty-five. And I'll buy you the hat. A really big one… Commodore."
Barbossa shook his hand. "We have an accord."
Jack yelled, "All hand's to the boats!" He saw Barbossa look at him angrily. "Apologies. You give the orders."
Barbossa shouted, "Gents…take a walk." The pirates walk away.
Jack asked, confused, "Not to the boats?" The cursed pirates walked on the sea's floor to the Dauntless, the moonlight revealing their true form.
In the boats…
Norrington saw what he thought were women in a boat. "Hold fire."
Ragetti was dressed in a dress and holding a parasol. "This is just like what the Greeks done at Troy. 'Cept they was in a horse…instead of dresses. Wooden horse." While they're distracting the soldiers and sailors, the pirates boarded the Dauntless.
On the Dauntless…
Governor Swann said to the guard. "A moment, please. Elizabeth? I just want you to know I, uh, I believe you made a very good decision today. Couldn't be more proud of you." While he was talking, Kelsey and Elizabeth threw down a makeshift rope and climbed out into a waiting boat. "But, you know, even a good decision if made for the wrong reasons can be a wrong decision."
A sailor spotted the boat with the two 'women'. "Lieutenant?"
Ragetti called girlishly, "Yoo-hoo!"
Governor Swann said, "Elizabeth? Rose? Are you there? Elizabeth, are you even listening to me?" He entered and saw their makeshift rope, and groaned, "Oh, what have you two done?"
Ragetti said, "Oooh!" as he effeminately waved a fan around.
Pintel punched him. "Stop that! Already feel like a fool."
Ragetti said jokingly, "You look nice, though."
Pintel said angrily, "I look nice?!" They fought and were revealed in the moon's light. The soldiers on board spotted the invading pirates and they began to fight.
In the cave…
Jack examined the treasure.
Barbossa said, "I must admit, Jack, I thought I had ye figured. But it turns out that you're a hard man to predict."
Jack shrugged. "Me? I'm dishonest. And a dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest. Honestly. It's the honest ones you want to watch out for, because you can never predict when they're going to do something incredibly… stupid." He unsheathed a pirate's sword and threw it to Will and he stabbed the pirate holding me. I jumped away from the body and sighed with relief. Jack started to fight his duel with Barbossa.
"You alright, Mary?" Will asked. I nodded, and smiled back at him. I grabbed a rapier from the piles of treasure and charged with a yell at the nearest pirate.
Barbossa said as they fought, "You're off the edge of the map, mate. Here there be monsters."
On the Black Pearl…
Elizabeth and Kelsey came on board. They saw two pirates having a conversation.
Grapple was talking. "Right. What would you pick to eat first?"
The Pirate Guard said, "I think we should decide now. Just so we're ready when the time comes."
Both cried out as the monkey fell on the cannon, "What was that?"
Down in the hold…
Gibbs whispered, "Shh!" He saw Elizabeth and Kelsey. "It's Elizabeth and Rose!"
Ragetti and Pintel boarded, and loaded the cannons, firing them at the approaching boats with the soldiers.
Norrington heard bell tolling. "Make for the ship! Move!"
A cursed pirate was taking the Governor's wig, and he ended up fighting with a severed arm.
In the cave…
Barbossa declared, "You can't beat me, Jack." Jack impaled him, Barbossa sighed and taking out the sword, impaled Jack.
Jack staggered into the moonlight to reveal his alternate skeleton form. "That's interesting." He said calmly as he revealed the medallion. "I couldn't resist, mate." He and Barbossa kept fighting and Jack ran, and turned over an end table. "Sorry."
Barbossa asked, "So what now, Jack Sparrow? Will it be it two immortals locked in an epic battle until Judgment Day and trumpets sound? Hmm?"
Jack shrugged. "Or you could surrender."
Barbossa laughed. "Arr." He ran after Jack.
On the Black Pearl…
Having just thrown both guards into the sea, Elizabeth and Kelsey ran out from the hold with the crew. Elizabeth shouted, "All of you with us. Will and Mary are in that cave and we must save them. Ready? And heave! Please, we need your help! Come on!"
The parrot squawked, "Any port in the storm."
Gibbs said, "Cotton's right, we've got the Pearl."
Kelsey looked at them with disbelief. "And what about Jack, you're just going to leave him too?"
Some random sailor said, "Jack owes us a ship."
Gibbs said, "And there's the code to consider."
Elizabeth shouted, "The code? You're pirates. Hang the code, and hang the rules!"
"They're more like guidelines anyway!" Kelsey added. They ended up rowing the boat together to the cave. "Bloody pirates." They said in unison.
On the ship…
Ragetti said, "Hey…"
Pintel asked, "What?"
Ragetti said, "Is it supposed to be doing that?" He pointed to the Pearl as it was sailing away.
Pintel yelled, "They're stealing our ship!"
Ragetti shouted, "Bloody pirates!" He got knocked on the head and his wooden eye popped out. "Ah, me eye!" He crawled after it.
In the cave…
A pirate snarled at Will as he tripped, "I'm gonna teach you the meaning of pain."
Elizabeth and Kelsey ran in. "Do you like pain?" Kelsey asked, knocking the pirate over with a heavy staff.
Elizabeth took the staff and whacked the pirate again and finished, "Try wearing a corset."
I helped Will up. Elizabeth saw Jack as a skeleton and asked mildly. "Whose side is Jack on?"
Will asked with a sigh and smile, "At the moment?" He, Elizabeth and I strung 3 pirates together, stuck a grenade into the middle one, and pushed them out of the moonlight.
The middle one said, "No fair." and they exploded. Kelsey and I high-fived. She then looked worriedly at Jack, who was still fighting Barbossa. She was doing quite well fighting a pirate on her own, dodging lots of slashes but several did land. I slid down the gold coin hill and stabbed him from behind to distract him.
Jack put his hand on the medallion, and tossed it to Will. Barbossa aimed his pistol at Elizabeth but Jack shot him while he looked at her
Barbossa said with a smirk, "Ten years you carry that pistol, and now you waste your shot."
Will smiled slyly, "He didn't waste it." He dropped both medallions into the chest.
Barbossa dropped his sword and looked at the blood spreading from the wound in his chest. He mumbled in amazement, "I feel…cold." He fell dead, and an apple rolled from his hand. The curse was now lifted.
On board the Dauntless; Koehler suddenly fell dead after being run through by Commodore Norrington.
Pintel grinned sheepishly and meekly said, "Parley?" The pirate crew realized the curse had been lifted and they all surrendered.
Norrington said quite smugly, "The ship is ours, gentlemen."
Sailors and soldiers all cheered happily as the Governor joined them, "Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah!"
Back in the cave Elizabeth looked towards the cave entrance, "We should return to the Dauntless."
I nodded; I was helping Kelsey bandage several deep cuts on her arms with strips of cloth from my shirt. "Rose should see a doctor about those cuts, and if there's anything that can be done for bruises I would love to know about it."
Will nodded and said quietly to Elizabeth, "Your fiancé will be wanting to know you're safe." Elizabeth actually smiled and turned away. I looked at Kelsey in amazement and she whispered to me,
"I'll explain on the ship." I saw Kelsey look behind me, and I saw Will staring thoughtfully at me. Blushing, I helped my best friend to her feet and we hurried to catch up with Elizabeth.
Jack swaggered over to Will and murmured, "If you were waiting for the opportune moment…that was it. Now, if you'll be so kind, I'd be much obliged if you'd drop me off my ship." Will nodded, and he and Jack brought up the rear of our little exit.
Even though my arms were killing me, I helped Will row us back to the Dauntless. "My arms are friggin killing me." I muttered. No one heard me. Stupid people.
Elizabeth said apologetically, "I'm sorry, Jack." She was referring to the fact that his companions had abandoned him so blatantly.
Jack shrugged, "They done what's right by them. Can't expect more than that."
Kelsey looked at him sympathetically, "You can make amends with them, can't you?"
"If I ever find them." He replied.
I sighed, and leaned against Will's other arm as we rowed up to the side of the Dauntless. A rope ladder was thrown down over the side, and one by one, we all climbed on the ship into the waiting arms of soldiers. Jack was the final member of our motley crew to board, and when he did, he was taken down to the hold. His eyes were hooked on Kelsey's giving her a sad smile as his face disappeared. Poor Kelsey with tears in her eyes leaned on my arm painfully and I squeezed her shoulders gently.
"Elizabeth! Rose! And…" The Governor and Commodore Norrington came over and looked at us in bewilderment. "Mary and William!"
The Commodore asked, "How on Earth did you get out of there alive?"
"Quick thinking, Commodore, and help from Captain Sparrow." Will answered. I winced as I bumped my arm on the rail and rubbed it gingerly. I rolled up my sleeve to look at how badly I had bruised and saw it nearly all black and blue.
"Oh dear!" Governor Swann exclaimed as he looked at Kelsey's arm and Will's hand dripping blood "Rose, Will, you're bleeding!" He saw me looking at my arm and continued, "Whatever did you do to your arms Mary?"
I bristled angrily and was about to make a rude reply when Kelsey answered coolly, "Didn't anyone inform you?"
Elizabeth glared at her father and continued, "Mary was captured by those pirates, Father. Did you expect them to honestly care what happened to her?"
"I, I…" He said, looked baffled. Gathering his composure, he said politely, "There is a doctor below deck who can tend to you three, now I suggest you visit him as soon as possible."
"Thank you." I said quietly, as tears came into my eyes. Kelsey winced as a British soldier began escorting her down below to the ship's physician.
I just sort of stood there; it finally hitting me that I could have died. Wow. That's a lot to think about when you're 17. Will being the nice guy that he is didn't touch my arm to get my attention. He just tapped my shoulder. Thank god.
"Mary?"
"Hmm?" I replied dreamily.
He turned me to face him (not using my arms to do so) and whispered as he hugged me, "I'm so glad you're all right."
Pleased as I was to be in his arms, my arms were killing me. They ached. BAD. "Will?" I asked, biting my lip.
He looked at me curiously, "What?"
"You're hurting my arms."
Will let go of me immediately and exclaimed, "Oh, I'm so sorry!"
I leaned on his shoulder, "Not your fault. They just hurt is all. I'm just surprised your hand isn't bothering you." I looked at his hand, which was dripping blood on the shiny wooden deck.
"Oh. That." He coughed into his fist and smiled. "Let's go see what can be done for us, shall we?"
I nodded, as allowed Will to lead me (avoiding my arms) down the stairs.
Meanwhile, Kelsey was missing Jack terribly. She decided to give him a visit. She walked down into the hold, and there was a soldier guarding Jack. Norrington would not let that guy off easy in a million years. The soldier would not let her in, so she turned on the puppy-dog eyes. They always work. He let her pass, and she went into the cell that was holding Jack. He smiled at her as she walked in.
"Hello." She said, "Feeling alright?"
"Other than sitting in a dark, damp cell, fine." He said. She giggled a little.
"I'll try my best to make you feel better." She said, and kissed him.
He was silent for a moment, then said, "Well, that did improve my spirits a bit." She laughed.
