Ok so I know this update is extremely short, but I needed to test the waters and get back into the groove with this story. I have not and will not abandon this story. Hopefully my muses will return to me soon.

Liv walked off the floor and directly into Fitz's arms. She closed her eyes, and let out a deep breath as her arms wrapped around his waist.

"So, how did I do?" She asked as she looked up to Fitz. Her nervousness wasn't lost on either him or Cyrus.

"You nailed it."

Olivia Pope had once again made history as being the first female president to notify the nation they were on the brink of war. Would she go through with it? That was the million dollar question.

3 Months Later….

"Madame President, Olivia Grant has definitely earned the attention and respect of leaders around the world, many of which are in support of her decision to place thousands of troops on the ground in Krinshbal. Many speculated that the young president who is expecting her first child in a matter of weeks wouldn't go through with the decision to go to war, but President Grant is showing us that there are no soft spots in her heart when it comes to terrorists…"

"… It is official. As of 4:45 this morning, the nation is now at war with Krinshbal. Olivia Grant is showing the world that women have what it takes to make the toughest of calls…"

"… Guinness should probably dedicate a special edition to Olivia Grant as she is taking the world by storm. Yet another record has been set by President Grant and it definitely will not be the last. Olivia Grant has officially begun the war on terrorism, and surprisingly her approval ratings have jumped to a surprising 7.9%. I guess it's true that America will support war, when it is warranted…"

"Republicans and Democrats alike are all rallying behind our commander in chief as she leads the nation into war. Over the next three weeks, a total of 75,000 troops are expected to touch down in Krinshbal. One thing is for certain, Olivia Grant is proving to leaders around the globe that it is no longer "a man's world"."

Liv turned off the tv and looked down at her growing belly. With only a few weeks left until Faith's arrival, Liv was a strong, poised president who shocked millions with the decision to follow through on her threats. In private however, Liv was not coping with this Decision as well as her constituents assumed.

Going to war wasn't a decision she entered into lightly. In fact, she spent months agonizing over this exact situation. She had exhausted every avenue possible in order to create some sort of alternative, but she was getting nowhere. Even though she had the backing of her comrades both on her side, and surprisingly many across the isle, Liv didn't have the backing of her own conscience. This was one of those moments of presidency where doing what was needed, was seriously conflicting with what was right.

Liv stood from the sofa and made her way towards the nursery, the only room in the entire White House that had the ability to bring some sort of peace over her in this moment. As she walked into the nursery which Martha had transformed into every little princesses dream, she couldn't help but smile as she saw the white convertible sleigh crib set in front of a huge pink castle that had been painted on the wall.

She ran her hand across her belly, and her breath caught in her throat as she felt Faith kick in r esponse to her ministrations. As she felt Faith kick, she couldn't help but think of how many mothers out there were now holding onto and saying goodby to the children they carried in their wombs, how many women were paralyzed with fear as the bumps they once rubbed were now being sent off to war. A lone tear which quickly spawned hundreds left her eyes as she thought of how many husbands and former bumps were leaving their pregnant wives, fiancés, and girlfriends, how many men and women were leaving their significant others at home so they could risk their lives, all because she asked them to.

How many of those former bumps would now be returning to Dover Air Force Base in flag covered coffins, all because she asked them to lay their lives on the line for not only her bump, but millions of other present and former baby bumps. She stood up straight and felt an unparalleled confidence come over her as she realized how many former baby bumps had been unjustly executed at the hands of terrorists around the world. This definitely wasn't what was right, but it was - what was needed.

"What are you doing up? It's still dark outside. Have you even slept yet?"

Liv turned and smiled as Fitz was standing in the threshold, his pajama pants hanging dangerously low on his hips. She subconsciously licked her lips, and cursed herself as the need to feel her husband everywhere, was occurring at the same moment she was ripping thousands of husbands from their wives.

"We are officially at war." Liv said in a voice so low Fitz almost missed it.

"How do you feel about that?" Fitz asked, knowing how hard his wife fought to keep this moment from happening.

Liv sighed as she entered into Fitz's outstretched arms. She wrapped her arms as tightly as Faith would allow, and willed herself not to cry. "I just can't help thinking of how many men and women are out there willingly risking their lives for this great nation. How many soldiers that were once little bumps growing in their wombs, will not make it home alive."

"Are you second guessing the war?" Fitz asked as he rubbed soothing circles on his wife's back.

"No. Not at all. It may not be what I feel is right, but it is what is needed." She voiced with such conviction Fitz couldn't help but be proud of his wife even more than before. If anyone thought that a woman wouldn't have what it took to lead this nation into war, they had apparently never met Olivia Grant. Fitz knew that this wasn't an easy call. His wife made cold, calculated decisions, and she never took on something she knew she wouldn't win. He himself wasn't a huge fan of wars, but he knew that his wife had made the right call.

"How are you feeling? Is my baby girl being good for mommy?" He asked as he took a step back and placed his hands on her belly.

"She's great. I have another bruise from her kicking and I don't know how she is still growing. I swear my body doesn't have any more room." Liv responded at the exact moment Faith kicked her father's hand.

"Well, let me call for breakfast for us before you start your day."

"Okay."

As Liv and Fitz made their way towards the west wing, they were greeted with an assortment of emotions. However, the emotion that seemed most common was awe. It was clear to the both of them even then, that what Liv had done had officially set the tone for future female presidents to come.

As they entered into the oval, they were greeted by Lauren and Charlotte who were both standing by, ready to receiving their marching orders from Liv. Fitz pulled Liv into him and delivered and innocent peck on her cheek, and wasn't lost on the look of disappointment on her face when he didn't go for more.

"Tonight, the 2.5 of us will have dinner and a movie." Fit said as he brushed his thumb across the back of Liv's hand, a moved that calmed her nerves infinitely.

"Dinner and a movie it is." She said as she watched her husband leave to begin his day.
