Welcome to the next chapter of To Rule Everything! I've started work on rewriting the deleted stories, so updates will come slower. Just throwing that out there. Let's get going!
Chapter 8: Ibuki vs. Ness: The Keeper of the First Key
Ibuki started with some two Shadow Clones on each side of him. They all mirrored each other until Ness and the Ibuki's got close. The two on the sides leaped and the real one collided with Ness. Their speed cancelled each other out, but the clones were falling at a fast rate over Ness. They had slashed at the youth in both of his arms, but he had a trick up his sleeve.
"PSI Magnet!" he shouted.
He was enveloped in a compressed ball of energy that was purple on the outside, but got brighter until is was white in the center. The clones hit it, and disappeared in a puff of smoke. When he emerged, Ness was healed, and there was no blood anywhere.
"Damn," Ibuki said. "Note to self, avoid PSI Magnet."
Ibuki didn't let this stop him though. He followed through with some of his Fire Style techniques. Ness countered them with his PK Fire. Ibuki tried some Lightning Style, but they were countered as well by PK Thunder. With each blow countered, Ibuki became more frustrated. When they both stopped firing, Ibuki summoned one hundred Shadow Clones to do battle with Ness while he came up with a plan.
"Byakugan and Sharingan!" Ibuki yelled.
His Kekkei Genkai flared up, one in both eye. He then tried to remember what Akuma had said.
Call me when you need me, and I'll give you as much power as I feel like giving, he had said.
Ibuki thought. He didn't have to wait long when a small well of power surged through him, like a dam bursting with water.
"Hyaaaaah!" he shouted.
The clones dispersed, leaving the battlefield clouded.
"I wonder what's happening in there," Peach said.
"Whatever it is, I hope that we don't need Dr. Mario afterwards," Zelda stated.
Shouts of pain and random fire and lightning flying out in all directions were seen and heard from the cloud. When it cleared, Ibuki and Ness were both battered.
"Give up Ness," Ibuki said. "I'm stronger than you."
"You may be right, but I've still got one trick up my sleeve," he smirked.
Ness got into a stance. He raised both arms diagonally. "PK STARSTORM!"
Dark clouds that flashed with lightning formed overhead. Comets made of PK fell out of the clouds, hitting the ground with explosive power, getting closer and closer to Ibuki. To most of the watchers, it looked like they were going through Ibuki, but he was going faster than could be seen. The onslaught was soon over, as Ness collapsed from exhaustion. Ibuki fell on the ground as well, tired from chakra overdose and the power of Akuma.
"I think its safe to say that this match is a draw," Mario said. "If you could Peach, please get the Maxim Tomatoes."
Peach nodded and reached into a bag that Fox was carrying. She pulled out two large tomatoes with an M on them and gave them to Ness and Ibuki. They ate the tomatoes quickly and felt refreshed after finishing.
"Thank you Princess," Ibuki said. "I feel a lot better."
Peach smiled. "I'm glad that you feel better."
Mario felt a bit of jealousy in the pit of his stomach, but pushed it aside. "So now that we've seen a little bit of your new abilities, I think that its time that we get going."
Yeah, Mewtwo thought to everyone. And now that we have someone that knows the land, it should make finding the keys that much easier.
"I would think so," Fox said.
"Well then what are we waiting for?" Link asked. "Let's get this show on the road!"
Somewhere outside to Otogakure...
"We're almost there," Ibuki stated.
"Thank god," Link exclaimed. "Do you think that we could take a short break?"
"Sure," Mario said. "I don't see why not."
"Do you think that you could tell us some about Otogakure?" Luigi asked.
"Yeah," Ibuki said. "Its a long story, so you might want to sit down."
They sat down, with Link leaning on a tree.
Ibuki sighed for starting. "Ok so its like this. Otogakure was once a ninja village that was created by the defected Konoha ninja, Orochimaru, one of the legendary Sannin. It participated in the Chunin exams like most nearby villages, but was discovered to be hiding an evil organization that was hell bent on creating humans with Jinchuuriki like powers. The village leader was killed by my father in a battle a long time ago and it fell apart since. All thats left now is ruins of buildings."
He went into details about the village for a little bit longer before finishing.
"So a secretly evil ninja village," Link said. "Why am I not surprised?"
He tried to straightened himself, but slipped on his foot and hit the tree branch. The branch bent at an odd angle, before going back to its original position. Some creaking and whirring was heard as a sliding door opened up in the tree. It was big enough for everyone to fit in.
"What the hell?" Link said, pulling himself up.
"What is that?" Red asked.
Your guess is as good as mine, Mewtwo thought-spoke.
"Well I guess that the only way to figure out is if we go down there," Ibuki stated.
The Smashers felt a little uneasy about going into the hole, but what choice did they have?
Probably the choice to leave it alone, Ibuki thought.
The entered the hole, one by one, with Ibuki going in first and Mewtwo going in last. They walked through it for a little bit, noticing tables and jars filled with weird objects. They also noticed journals full of weird symbols and information. They eventually found one that was easier to understand, and Ibuki read it out loud.
"Day 56," he read. "The first twenty specimens died last night due to the experiments. I believe that we may have done something wrong."
Ibuki paused, wondering what he was reading before going on the next entry.
"Day 71. I think that we finally got one experiment right. The specimen's name is Anko Mitarashi. She now has my ability to control snakes. We needed to apply a special seal to keep her power in check."
With horror, Ibuki realized where they were.
"We need to leave now," he said in a low voice.
"What's wrong?" Peach asked.
"We're in danger here, I feel a presence and I've got a pretty good idea of who it is," Ibuki said.
I too, feel a presence, Mewtwo thought. It feels evil, and snakelike.
"Bravo fools," a cocky voice said. "You've finally figured it out."
A figure stepped out from the shadows. Or slithered. It was kind of hard to tell. It looked to be a mixture of both.
"Lord Orochimaru," Ibuki growled. "I thought you were dead."
"Didn't everyone think that at one point," Orochimaru said. "What matters is that I am still here. Do you care to be one of my test subjects?"
"I think we'll pass," Mario said, nervously. "We really need to get going."
"And leave behind what you're looking for?" Orochimaru said in a cunning voice. "What about your special key?"
Everyone froze.
"H-How do you know about that?" Luigi stuttered.
"I am...well informed," Orochimaru paused. "But if I were you, I would think about trying to take it."
Ibuki growled. "I'll do whatever it takes."
"Ibuki stop!" Zelda yelled.
"HYAAAAAH!" Ibuki yelled as he launched his fist at Orochimaru.
And another chapter done. I'm hoping that I can keep the updates going like this for a little while longer, but until then, peace out.
