A/N: Am I late to the party? *shot*
This story was so delayed, I'm sorry for the wait. Since Christmas is in a week, what do you guys think about a straight week of new chapters for this story till Christmas morning? Good?... I'll try my best. (\0x0)
The following chapters would not be beta-read since I want to post a new one every day.
Thank you all for the support for this story, I will try to get back on track on it. Can't believe a year has passed since this story though. I really played a number on these Hetalia characters back then…I have to admit I do have a small writing block since I can't remember where I was going with this story.
Anyways I'll try my best to make it a great Christmas for Japan. Enjoy~
~*~ Hetalia! ~*~
"Excuse me Mr. Japan, do you have a carrot?"
The Japanese nation looked down to see the small micro-nations huddled behind Kugelmugel, who was the one that had asked.
Sealand who was still perched on top on the counter huffed as he jumped off. "Guys! I can't believe you started building the snowman without me, that's so uncool!" The island micro-nation complained to his friends.
Japan who was finishing taking out the baked gingerbread men from the oven stopped for a moment and went over to the cutting board to see if he had spared a carrot. Fortunately there was one behind some cabbages. Making sure it was clean, he washed the carrot before handing it to the micro-nations.
"Here you go Kugelmugel-kun, make sure you leave room for dinner." Japan spoke softly to the other, not wanting the little one to spoil his hunger before the feast.
For a moment, the white haired micro-nation was surprised that such an important nation actually knew who he was.
"Oh it isn't for him to eat, it's to place it on the snowman's face." Sealand clarified as he snatched the vegetable from Kugelmugel's hand. "I will put it on his face since everyone decided to not invite me to the building!"
"Hey, you can't just take that Sealand!" Wy scolded, annoyed that Sealand was taking charge of the most important article for the snowman.
"By the way we have yet to start Sealand, we came in here first to grab the carrot dummy." Ladonia imputed sticking his tongue out at Sealand.
As the micro-nations bickered, Japan emptied the tray of gingerbread men on a cool platform. Kugelmugel was watching Japan, paid no attention to the other micro-nations argument. "Uhmm, Mr. Japan can I help you decorate the gingerbread men?" Kugelmugel asked quietly, already visualizing the artworks he could create on those tiny little baked men.
The older nation thought about it for a moment wondering if it would be a good idea to let the youngsters prepare the gingerbread men. Seeing no real danger from letting them help, the Japanese nation nodded. "Alright, it is nice of you to offer your help." Japan complemented scooting to the side of the counter so the small white haired micro-nation had enough room to decorate.
"I want to decorate too!" Both Seborga and Ladonia exclaimed suddenly, dropping their argument about the snowman and shuffled on each side of Japan.
Sealand, TRNC, and Wy soon joined, pulling up a chair to be able to reach over the counter.
Japan chuckled behind his sleeve at the micro-nations enthusiasm to decorate the gingerbread men. "Let me get the decoration kit for the gingerbread men, Sealand-kun I leave you in charge of supervising the others to wash their hands."
Sealand excited that he was named the leader gave a salute sign and turned to his friends with a smug face. "You heard Japan, I'm the leader!"
The other micro-nations groan in disapproving manner but never the less went over to the sink to wash their hands.
Finland was watching from his cooking station the laughter of the small nations. The Nordic nation smiled at them when Sealand waved at him from where he was perched.
"You guys don't have eggnog? Canada what's wrong with you, we can't celebrate Christmas without it!" A loud voice complained down the hallway. Japan curious of what was missing, walked over to the American brothers.
"America, I'm quite busy at the moment so I can't go get the eggnog." Canada replied as he was putting away the gifts under the tree.
"Ano, what is an eggnog?"
"The best thing to drink on Christmas Eve dude!" America answered, throwing his hands upwards. "But my bro forgot to get any, how could you…" He murmured the last part, directing it to Canada who just rolled his eyes at his childish behavior.
"Well I can go down the block and get a supply of eggnog." Japan volunteered. America clapped his hands together, happy to have his favorite drink on Christmas "…but I do not know how the eggnog looks exactly." He added truthfully.
"I don't know Japan, it's getting dark outside..." Canada worried, seeing as the evening getting dark.
"It's fine Canada-san, I am responsible for supplementing supplies for this gathering after all."
"I heard Nihon-gege is going shopping, can me and Ice go with you."
Not even waiting for Japan to answer, Hong Kong grabbed the other's hand and Iceland following suit. "Ahh will be right back with the eggnog America-san and Canada-san...—wait Hong Kong-san, I have to leave someone behind to supervise the micro-nations at the kitchen." Japan tried to explain to the other.
"Hong Kong help Japan make sure to get the regular eggnog, not that weird French shit with the weird flavors!" America yelled from the living room, totally ignoring the distressing face of Japan.
"Ice, go tell your brother to watch them or something." Hong Kong simply said, once again proceeding in dragging the older nation along.
"HK, the idiot isn't here yet unfortunately, let me tell Finland then." Iceland walked over to the kitchen.
Hong Kong seeing that it was slightly snowing outside, grabbed his coat from the hanger. He looked at Japan and saw he was only wearing the nutcracker suit.
"Really Nihon-gege?" Hong Kong stressed out annoyingly. "Let me find you that polar bear you were wearing earlier, it's freezing outside." He soon found the white furred coat Japan had worn earlier and slapped it on Japan, literally.
"Kisama baka—"
"Oh what did you to Japan this time~" Korea chided mockingly as he threw his arms around Japan from behind, snaking his hands down the front chest of his prey. "By the way, your breast belong to me da-ze~" The Korean whispered huskily in the older nation's ear.
"Ahh, Korea-san!" exclaimed Japan as he slapped the Korean away, earning laughter from both the Asian siblings.
"Nice one!" The Chinese nation gave the other trouble maker a high five at the flustered Japan. "I see you and gramps made it to the party, Nihon-gege was about to take me and Ice to the store, want to tag along?"
Korea's eyes shined in anticipation and hooked his arm with Japan, who at the moment was finishing putting on his oversize coat, obscuring his nutcracker outfit. "I call Nihon's right hand!"
"Hey I was with Nihon-gege's first, I should be at his right."
"Well I called dibs, you get his left hand." And to seal the deal, Korea interlocked his hand with Japan who was still trying to decide if to unsheathe his katana and cut the Korean's arm off.
"Finland agreed to watch the other nations while we are gone, are we going now?" Iceland spoke, looking amused at seeing South Korea and Hong Kong each holding one of Japan's hand.
"Yeah, let's go." Hong Kong mumbled, glaring at Korea.
Japan just gave up trying to pry his sibling's hands from him. He guessed old habits never die.
.
..
"Hey Korea, I want to hold gege's hand!" A kid Hong Kong pleaded at the young South Korea, who at the moment had both his hands gripping Japan's.
"No, he is taking me to the market."
Why so much fuss over a hand?
Well China had a rule in his house that if any of the younger nations wanted to go the market, they must be accompanying by either Japan or China. Staying together with either of the oldest nation was key to keep the privilege of returning back to the market another day, so good behavior was mandatory. The best part was the reward that might be given the good behavior, granting the small nations a treat from the market, especially if they held on Japan's hand. Their older sibling always had a tendency of buying more than needed when traveling with the younger Asians.
"Noo, I want to go to the market too!" Sobbed out the small Hong Kong, trying not to cry. "It's not fair, you're older than me, so you get to always go with Nihon-gege." Hong Kong accused South Korea, who was glaring at him back.
South Korea stuck his tongue out from behind Japan's waist where he was peering from, swinging the captured hand at the other self-righteously.
"Here, what if I take both of you to the market with me. I don't think China-nii would mind too much if both of you behave." The young Japan prompted, reaching over to take a hold of Hong-Kong's smaller hand in his left hand. "I do have another hand for you, what about it Hong-bō?"
The Chinese child looked up at Japan's kind expression making him smile a little by his name spoken sweetly and nodded happily, squeezing the elder's hand.
"I'm still getting the treat HK!" Korea warned, already planning what to get at the market.
The smallest of the Asians ignored the loud Korean. Hong Kong was content enough just going out of the house with the protection of his gege.
..
.
"Where is the store Japan?" whined South Korea, as the small group walked down the snowy street from the house.
The Japanese nation sigh at the sixth time Korea had asked in the past minute. "It's not far Korea-san, it is located down the block." Japan said before he ignored the two Asians on either side of him and glanced back at Iceland who was walking behind them. "Iceland-san, I hope it wasn't too much of an inconvenient for you to accompany me to the store, it is certainly is too cold outside."
Iceland smiled back at Japan's modesty. "It's is fine, I wanted to see the stores here anyways."
The group arrived to the small hut that was the store with a minimum amount of bickering from Korea and Hong Kong from either side, surprising Japan. It seems the Christmas decorations in the neighborhood had distracted them long enough to make it to the store without annoying Japan too much. Both of the trouble makers let go of his hand the moment they saw the food displayed and scurried inside to take a look of all the merchandise, leaving behind Japan and Iceland.
"Well, since they're not going to be much help, may I ask you how an eggnog looks like?" Japan asked Iceland as they entered the store.
The Nordic nation nodded in understanding and led Japan to where the drinks were usually displayed. In the background you could hear Korea and Hong Kong arguing about maple flavor noodles.
Unknown to the small group of nations, two female nations had tagged along taking pictures secretly.
Omake:
"Sealand don't add too much red on the gingerbread man!"
The said gingerbread man was pooled in crimson frosting, its expression in utter shock.
"But it's my favorite flavor of frosting." Sealand simply stated, finishing decorating. The rest of the micro-nations looked at the island nation apprehensively. "And look, it matches Ladonia's hair color."
"Hey!" Ladonia then dunked his gingerbread man in yellow frosting and scribble thick sloppy black frosting on the gingerbread's head. "Well this looks like you too!" Bickering soon started afterwards.
Wy ignored Sealand's weird comments and the pesky argument in favor of checking Kugelmugel's decorations on his gingerbread man. To her surprise there was one gingerbread man on his plate, since had Wy expected the artist micro-nation to go overboard in decorating the treats. The sole gingerbread man looked like Japan, with his jet black hair in frosting and dark brown chocolate chip as his eyes.
It looked like a masterpiece.
She wary looked at her friend, not understanding why he would make a Japan gingerbread man.
Kugelmugel finished sprinkling white powder of the Japanese gingerbread man and proudly placed it in a small porcelain plate. "I hope Mr. Japan likes it." He said eventually to Wy.
A/N: Cute feast, I'm just warming up. *cracks fingers* I do enjoy writing up the Asian nation's relationship with Japan, I really want to do a story separately in the future about them. I decided to just add a little of it here. And I cannot forget the micro-nations adorableness.
Kisama = you (Japanese; it's a rude way of saying it)
bō = endearment like "chan" for young children but exclusively used for boys. (Japanese)
Reviews are much appreciated. ^0^
