Chaos was everywhere when Caroline rushed over to her fallen friend, but she did care. She was only focused on getting to Bonnie. When she reached Bonnie she collapsed onto her knees next to Bonnie as she ripped off her shirt and used it to compress against Bonnie's neck wound, but she knew it was too late. She couldn't hear her friend's heartbeat and the baby's was slowly fading away.
"No, Bonnie, no! You can't leave me, you can't die," Caroline said as tears ran down her face. She looked up to call for help when she saw her. "You," she exclaimed when she looked into the eyes of her former best friend. "You did this! You killed them Elena and you will die for this," she promised as she looked the girl in the eyes.
Elena was stricken as she saw Bonnie's lifeless body in Caroline's arms. "No," she gasped, "I didn't mean for it to go this far," she tried to explain. She was panicked. She couldn't believe what she was seeing and was just now realizing that her selfishness just caused someone that she loved to die.
Caroline whipped her head back up to glare at her ex friend with her vamped out face. "I think you better run before I rip your heart out," she to Elena calmly as she pulled Bonnie's form closer to her.
Seeing that Caroline was serious, Elena looked at the chaos that was still around and yelled for Damon. "Damon, we need to leave now. Bonnie's dead," was all she called out as she turned her gaze back to her former friends. As she looked a part of her was heartbroken, but another part the doppelganger part was satisfied.
At her words it seemed like everything stopped and as all eyes turned to the small body cradled in Caroline's arms. As Damon's eyes landed on the witch he gave a smirk and then took off with Elena getting the hell out of dodge. He knew that they vampires they were fighting were old, but not that old and he was happy to get the hell away especially after dealing with the deadly blonde.
Esther who had been using all her magic to help anchor the child and mother to this realm was starting to fade. Blood dripped from her nose even with the help of some of her brothers and sisters who have passed on. She wanted to tell everyone that Bonnie was still alive, but just in the Neither Realm a place between the land of the living and the Other Side where the supernaturals went before passing or returning to the living. She was so focused that she wasn't aware on what was around her until she was jerked out of her kneeling position by her middle child.
"Fix her," she Klaus yelled at her not caring of her state of mind or if she was hurt.
Esther could not afford to lose her concentration anymore and simply said, "Finn."
Finn understanding that his mother needed his help, stepped forward and started to push Klaus back, "If she isn't focused she could lose her hold on the girl." At his words Klaus released the bruising hold that he had on the woman that gave birth to him.
"If she dies," Klaus stated to say but was cut off by his sister.
"If she dies, I'll find a way to end you Klaus. Mark my words, "Bekah said as she went over to the younger blonde vampire and kneelt beside her to hold on to Bonnie's hand that was limp by her side. "After all it was you who bite her, you who attacked her, you who hurt them both."
Klaus looked at his sister shocked. She had never called him Klaus. No matter what he did to her, his brothers, or others she always called him Nik. But now, it was different. He had hurt the only person who saw him and who openly came to care about his family he knew that his sister would never forgive him especially if the child the girl carried perished with her as well.
As Rebekah grabbed Bonnie's hand the vampire who was holding her growled, "Don't worry I'm not here to hurt her. She has been a friend to me," she explained as she wiped hair from off of Bonnie's face. Looking down at the girl her mind replayed the events that led up to this moment.
Rebekah knew that something was up with her friend when she laid eyes on her. She looked plumper in a way in. She could see that Bonnie gained some weight which was a good thing, but she also noticed other things as well. Like her breasts seem to be bigger and her hips, thighs, and butt were larger.
It was as she was trying to figure out all the changes her friend went through that she noticed Bonnie place her hand on her stomach and she saw the outline of her stomach. Bonnie was pregnant. At first she didn't understand, but as she smelled the air Bonnie still smelled like her brother and no one else. The distinctive markers of a wolf who has claimed his mate. The child was Klaus' and she was trying to process the information when shit went straight to hell.
It was at that moment when Bonnie finally realized who they were when the first attacked happened. In the background Rebekah heard an almost silent whiz of something being released and when she followed the path of sound she noticed it was aimed at Klaus.
Rebakeh watched as her brother deflect the wooden stark aimed at him, aimed at his heart with the simple flick of his wrist before he went full-fledged hybrid and yelled, "You dare to attack me." It was at that moment that Bekah realized that he was looking at the fleeing girl as he spoke.
She stood rooted to the spot in horror as he caught Bonnie by the wrist before he pulled her back around. Her eyes widen when she saw his intent and screamed, "Nik, no!" But it was too late. He had sunk his teeth into the tender flesh of the woman in her arms. "No," she gasped out in horror.
Bekah rushed to help Bonnie get away from Klaus when she felt the pain of wood piercing her skin that she turned and saw a man with jet black hair and pale white skin standing behind her with a smirk on his face. She was able to quickly pull the stake from her back before she flung it back at him so quickly he wasn't able to move fast enough to get out the way. It didn't hit his heart like she wanted it to, but hit him in the shoulder. She was turning around when she saw that it was too late to help Bonnie. The girl was already on the ground lifeless.
Esther had felt when the girl's soul was starting to slip away, but she and the child within Bonnie latched on to her holding her spirit as her soul went to the Neither Realm. There the rest of the witches and warlocks would have to protect Bonnie from those against the Bennett line until she is able to connect with her body again. She hoped it was soon since it was training to hold on to someone's spirit.
As Esther continued to hold both mother and child she could feel the fear of her unborn grandson and knew she would have to make Klaus leave. The child's fear of his father was making him weak since he was expanding his power to protect both him and his mother.
Finn who had rushed to their aid along with Kol and hybrids stood around looking for any threats as she turned to her eldest son. "Finn, you must get him out of here. The child is too afraid and is fighting me. I need him to feel safe," she said as she tried to brush against the shield that she was trying to get through.
"I'm not going anywhere," Klaus growled as he fought against Finn's and Kol's hold.
"Niklaus, you must calm down and do as mother says or we could lose Bonnie," Elijah stepped forward and laid his hand on Klaus' shoulder.
Klaus was devastated. A part of him was horrified at what he did, but another part felt that he was justified in what he did. He didn't want to leave. The wolf inside him demanded that he stayed, demanded that they take care of their mate, but he knew that in order for his mother to help Bonnie he had to leave. After calming down Klaus allowed Elijah to lead him away. He never looked back.
Abby was just setting down in her mother's living room waiting to meet her daughter after so many years apart when she felt it. She let out a loud scream as her body started to convulse with pain. After a life time passed it seemed the pain stopped which was only a few moments when Abby started to cry out for a whole different reason.
Shelia, Rudy, and Jamie had rushed into the living room only to find Abby on the floor. Going to her daughter in a rush Shelia bent down and cradled Abby in her arms. "What's the matter, baby," she asked as she gripped Abby tighter.
"It's Bonnie," Abby gasped. Not believing what was happening. She had her powers back and the only way that could have happened was if Bonnie died.
"What about Bonnie," Shelia asked in growing concern.
"She's dead," was all she was able to say as she collapsed more into her mother and cried.
