"Here is your winner, and the new Raw Women's Champion. Alexa Bliss." was heard from backstage as Paul waited to congratulate Lexi on winning the title. It was a fatal four way between her, Becky Ember Moon and Ruby Riott.
She walked from behind the curtain to be applauded by everyone before getting to Paul and hugging him. "How's it feel to be champion again?"
"Its bittersweet. It feels good being champ but I feel bad about Nia."
"Yeah, I get what you mean. But she'll be happy for you."
"I know but it doesn't feel right."
They were interrupted by a crew member.
"Paul you ready? You're up next."
"Yeah I'm ready." He says before turning to Lexi. "I'll see you after my match."
"Okay. Good luck." She said before turning towards the locker rooms.
Paul and Seth Rollins would be taking on Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. He waited for his theme to play as Seth's theme played throughout the arena.
"And his tag team partner." 'Unsettling Differences' (Kevin Owens' ROH theme) sprung into life as Paul walked onto the stage to a massive pop. "From Glasgow, Scotland. Weighing in at 223 pounds. AJ Mac."
He vaulted over the rope and stood next to Seth getting ready for the match. The four of them had a really good 20 minute match with Paul superkicking Owens and pinning him for the win. He and Seth celebrated together to end Raw. After the show ended on TV. Paul grabbed the mic and addressed the crowd.
"Damn it feels good to be back in the UK." The crowd gave him a pop. "This is the first time since Takeover London in 2015 for my debut that I have had a match in Britain and all of you are just as great as I remember." The crowd gave him another louder pop and chanted "AJ Mac" causing him to smile. "I want to thank all of you from up in Inverness all the way down to Southampton and everywhere else in between for coming to Indy shows and supporting all of us UK guys because if it wasn't for you then people like me, Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, Finn Balor, Pete Dunne and everybody else who came from the UK scene would never have made it to WWE so from all of us we thank you and I hope to see even more guys from promotions like ICW and Progress in WWE." He got one more cheer before his theme played and he made his way backstage high fiving fans along the way.
He came backstage and was complimented on his speech by Hunter and a few others before making his way to the locker room.
After he was changed, he drove himself and Lexi back to the hotel.
"I heard your speech. It was really good."
"Thanks. I just wanted to thank the fans for everything. If it was not for their support you'd be talking to someone completely different right now."
"You know, you've never really told me about your career before WWE."
"I've not? Well, I started training in 2008 when I was 14 and ICW hired me three years later. They said I was amazing for my age and wanted to sign me early before another promotion picked me up first. I had my first match in December of 2011 like two days after i turned 18 and the fans seemed to take to me. I got over and eventually beat Noam to win my first title still only 18, held that for a while before losing it a few months later. I had the rivalry of 2014 with Drew after he left WWE at first where I won my first world title when I was 20. I got my tryout at 21 during the first UK tour in 2015 and got signed not long after so I dropped the title back to Drew, moved to Orlando and you know the rest."
"Wow. I didn't realise your career was so storied. I mean your only 24 and you've done so much and you're already one of the best in the world."
"I wouldn't go that far. I'm good but I'm no AJ Styles or Kenny Omega."
"Trust me. Everyone backstage says so. Apparently even Hunter and Vince."
"Well. Thank you but I don't think I'm there just yet."
"Well even if you're not now you definitely will be."
They drove for another 10 minutes before pulling up to the hotel.
