Percy:

Percy ran like hades, and that was no exaggeration. What was he running from? He wasn't exactly sure... But it was bad, he knew that much. He ran as fast as his legs could carry him, very unmanly tears streaming down his face. Honestly he didn't care much about whatever the hades was chasing him, he just cared about getting away and finding his friends and Annabeth.

ANNABETH. Just the thought of her name made him want to punch something and kick the ground and fall over and cry and kiss her and punch her and whatever else was humanly possible. Damn, his emotions were a little out of whack at the moment.

So anyways, he ran away quickly and eventually couldn't carry himself any longer. Once he was completely unable to run anymore, his legs gave in and he dropped. He crawled over to a small cave in the rocks and curled up, hoping the hole was too small for any monsters to get in. His breaths were heavy, his brain was fried, at least 2 of his bones were broken and his legs felt like molten lava. But hey, on the bright side, at least he was alive.

There was clawing outside, probably some monster (a hellhound maybe? Or a fury?) trying to get in. Percy wasn't really paying much attention to it though, he was too busy being in excruciating pain to care. In no time his body gave in, and he blacked out from exhaustion.

In Percy's dream, he was laying in a cave. Well, technically he was laying in a cave in the real world too, but that doesn't matter. Anyways, he was lying in a cave in his dream, but he wasn't alone. There was another figure there. Percy tried to look at the man, but every time he tried, the man ran farther away. Eventually Percy got up and chased this mysterious man, his curiosity getting the best of him.

As Percy chased the figure, it mocked him mercilessly. He wanted to catch whoever it was and beat him to a pulp. It reminded him of his failures, his insecurities, and every other negative thing that would hurt him. Not only that, but it was saying things about Annabeth. It was trying to hurt him by using his greatest weaknesses.

"She's probably given up on you by now you know? she just won't admit it. After all, why would she still care about you?" The word slid of his tongue like acid.

"You weren't good enough yourself and her. Couldn't get you both out. Thats probably why she betrayed you like that..." No, she didn't betray him. This man was trying to trick him. He was trying to get to him. "She probably thinks you died. They probably gave up by now."

It continued with insults like these, and Percy tried to chase it and scream at it, but his voice wasn't working. It was shut off. His legs weren't working too well either, so he was practically useless. Useless not only in real life, but also In a dream.

Suddenly, the being stopped abruptly and turned around, revealing his face to Percy. At the sight of him, Percy winced. It looked like a combination of everyone he'd ever hated. One Second he looked like his old step dad Gabe, the next he was his old Enemy Luke, then Ares, and Kronos, etc.

Suddenly Percy wanted to punch him even more then before, but he couldn't, because his feet still felt glued to the ground. He did, however, find his voice. Suddenly a (moderately shrill and ear splitting) frustrated yell burst through his mouth. Despite that, the man made no attempt to move, instead it opened its mouth, and smoke billowed out and surrounded Percy. He began lifting up into the air, and with that, flailing his arms wildly.

"You've failed her. It's all your fault," the man spoke to him, leaving his mouth opened. His voice was suddenly cold and hollow.

"Wuh.. What are you talking about?" Percy asked, still flailing his limbs wildly in the smoke.

"She can't find you. You didn't get out fast enough. It's all your fault she's how she is." Seriously, this guy was starting to piss Percy off. What on earth was he talking about? "She's wasting away, ruining her own life. The girl you let down, slowly sinking into darkness, slipping away day by day without you at her side."

"Y-you mean Annabeth? What about her? Where are they? What do you mean slipping away?"

"She thinks you may be dead, but she's in denial. She's trying to overcome the pain you've caused her. So she's begun causing herself NEW pain. I suppose that's your fault. You're Pathetic, can't even protect your own girlfriend from herself," the man continued, smirking evilly. "You cant save her from her own monsters, not physical Ones, the ones in her Head. You'll never be a great hero, no matter how many people you save. If you can't save your precious Annabeth, what does that matter?" The man mocked.

"What do you mean? Is she okay? Give me answers!" Percy screamed, and suddenly dove at the man through the smoke with all of his might. He didn't make it though, he passed through the man harmlessly and started falling down, down, down, Falling for forever. Only this time, he didn't have Annabeth to hold.
