Chapter 8: Aftermath - part 2

Sebastian nodded and bowed to Ciel, going and doing as both he and Ciel had said, he went into the kitchens, where he was met with a bombardment of servants.

"Is the young master okay." All three servants asked in their usual worried, yet almost slightly hyper baritone.

"Yes, the young master's okay." Sebastian replied. "He wishes to speak to you" he added.

"He wants to speak to us?" Finny parroted, wondering what the young master wanted, after all it wasn't long since the trio had been dismissed from Ciel's presence.

"That's what he said." Sebastian replied. "Now go." He said, "You don't want to keep the young master waiting."

"Yes sir!" the servants replied, running out of the room to go to Ciel to see what he wanted.

Sebastian on the other hand set to work making the Earl some cake, like he said he would, though he couldn't help but think about things. The demon was hungry. Yes, but hungry for what exactly? Hungry for Ciel's soul. Possible, but why have Ciel carry the child in the first place? Why not have him abort the child, at least it wouldn't be in the way after it was born, and the contract would go on as normal.

No it was something more than that, it was this demons weakness. He had fallen, fallen in love with his human. Was it clouding his judgement, this love? The child, yes it would get in the way of their contract. But why even get himself so emotionally involved with Ciel for them to have even made out. Sebastian was conflicted. His meal, or his love. Just what was Ciel to him? It was driving the demon insane. And what would he do about it…

Sebastian sighed as he mixed the ingredients of the cake. Slowly thinking his way through his dilemma, occasionally letting out the odd frustrated noise here and there. But no matter how he looked at it, it always came down to the fact that he was in love with his meal.

He stopped for a few minutes, placing a hand on the bridge of his nose. "Why do I keep deluding myself." He said to himself, "it'll just keep eating at me if I don't accept it." Sebastian put the cake mix down and took of his white glove looking at his contract mark. "It'll all have been for nothing then." He mumbled quietly. A small smile prying on his lips. "Just a twist in the game." He added before putting the glove back on and going back to mixing the cake mix. Continuing to make the cake.

Meanwhile the servants had made their way to Ciel's bed-chamber, knocking on the door waiting for Ciel to let them in.

Now Ciel being the lover of games that he was decided to make the servants wait for a while, only a few minutes, but still a few minutes was all it took for the servants stomachs to be up in knots. After what seemed like an eternity to the servants Ciel gave them permission to enter.

The trio walked into the room, standing alongside the bed looking at their master.

"I have something I need to say to you, and well I don't really know how to say it." Ciel said, toying with them, he was enjoying doing this. Such a cruel master he was.*

"What is it young master. You're not dying are you?" Finny asked, the poor teenager was panicking slightly, after all Ciel was being manipulative.

"Me die? Hell no. I'm going to live forever." Ciel replied with a smirk. Finny sighed a little. At least the young master isn't dying. That was always a bonus, especially with Ciel's habit of getting kidnapped, and people trying to kill him and other things of the like.

"Well just spit it out then." Bard said, momentarily forgetting that he was talking to his master as he said those words. Ciel shot him a glare.

"Don't talk that tone with me." He snapped at Bard, "I won't tell you now." He huffed a little. Well his servants had no right to talk to him in that manner.

Bard gasped slightly, "I- I didn't mean for it to sound like that…" he began, trying to make better the wrong he had just done. Hopefully it would turn out better than his cooking attempts.

Ciel just huffed, crossing his arms across his chest, turning his head away from him.

Mey-Rin looked at Finny, who looked back at Ciel. "Master Ciel, I think he was just trying to say, if you don't know how to phrase it why don't you just say it in the way that first comes to mind." He said, almost worried, he had never seen Ciel act like that, except when… no not even when he disagreed with something Sebastian had said to him, he never got uptight about it. But then again Sebastian could handle the Earl better than they could.

Ciel glanced at Finny for a moment, before resuming his original position which was appearing to look out of the window. Even though he wasn't really paying much attention to that.

"I'm sorry." Bard said quietly, "I did only intend for it to sound as Finny had put it."

Ciel looked over at him, nodding a little in response. In truth he wasn't angry, he wasn't majorly annoyed, it was something he had gotten over a second or two after, he was just playing with them.

"Well…" Ciel began, rubbing the back of his neck slightly, "I guess I just want to say thank-you."

The servants looked at him "whatever would you be thanking us for?" Bard asked.

Ciel looked at him, "for saving my life." He responded.

Mey-Rin appeared to wave it away. "You don't have to thank us, we're servants. It's our job."

Ciel sighed a little, "Even so, I just wanted to thank you." He said

The servants knew that there was no point in budging on what Ciel was saying, they nodded in response and left the room quietly. Ciel sighed before closing his eyes thinking, wondering what Sebastian was really intending to do with him. He sat and stared ahead of himself, thinking, until Sebastian came back in the room with the cake he had made a while later.
