The Rose Sisters

Disclaimer: I do not own RWBY. If I did, one it wouldn't be nearly as awesome, and two I wouldn't be in High School. I'd be in my secluded mansion where I don't have to worry about living breathing people annoying me unless I choose to (which I doubt I would). So no suing the guy who has 5 dimes, 3 nickels, 2 penny's, a quarter, and the lint in his pocket. Though Saphire is mine so if you want to use her then PM me and tell me what story.

Chapter 8: New Living Quarters

-Down A Seemingly Random Hallway-

Ruby and Saphire are walking down the hall that leads to the secret living area. Just behind them is Blake, behind her is Yang and Weiss with the Headmaster bringing up the rear. The reason that the Headmaster is in the back could be to make sure no one follows, or it could just be a complete coincidence that he is in the perfect spot to stop any one from becoming 'too curious'.

Blake: So… Saphire…

Saphire: Yes?

Blake: (suddenly becoming really shy) I… um… was wondering if… ifyouknowanythingaboutAdam. (Translation: I was wondering if you know anything about Adam.)

Saphire: *warm smile* I think it would be better to talk about this subject when we have more privacy.

Blake: Oh. Ok.

Saphire: (in a reassuring voice) Don't worry. I knew the two of you were close even before they changed. If something bad happened I would have already told you.

Blake: (feeling slightly relieved but still not completely satisfied) Ok. Thanks.

Saphire: You don't need to thank me. It's natural to worry about someone close to you. (at this Saphire glances over at Ruby who SEEMS oblivious)

Blake just nods her head in acknowledgment and continues on in silence. (funny how a lot of people, both real and computerized, tend to answer with a nod of the head when the person they are nodding to cannot see them yet somehow knows they gave acknowledgment)

Silence takes over the hall until Weiss and Yang decide to have a conversation of their own.

Weiss: Soooo, you and Ruby are not actually sisters?

Yang: That is correct.

Weiss: *sigh* I want to change. Believe me I do. It's just hard, I've had these negative feelings towards Faunus for as long as I can remember. Ever since the White Fang started attacking people and stealing things I only heard about the harm they have done. I formed this idea that all Faunus are criminals. But I see now that I was wrong.

Yang: I believe you. I just have a lot on my mind. I'm still trying to process that Ruby has a twin sister and Ruby and her sister are Faunus. Even with all the evidence right in front of me I still have a hard time believing any of it. All this time I thought Ruby was an orphan who never knew her real family, that she was a regular girl who wanted to make the world a better place. Now, after today, the happy-go-lucky, sweet, innocent image I've created just got shattered by the very person I thought I knew everything about. I honestly don't know who Ruby is anymore.

Weiss: I can't say I know how you feel because I don't, but I do know what it is like losing a sibling.

Yang: (looking over at Weiss) Huh? What do you mean?

Weiss: (looking down unable to look at Yang) I have a brother. Every day I wake up hoping to see him by my side like when I was little, but he is not. Every night I pray for him to come home, to walk through the door and hold me until I fall asleep like he used to, but he does not. I almost lost hope, but after today I regained hope. I won't give up on him, just like Ruby and Saphire never gave up on eachother.

Ruby starts to slow down and joins Yang and Weiss.

Ruby: I heard what you were saying. It's good to never give up on someone you care about. I almost gave up on Saphire many times, but I would always think of what we went through together and tell myself that she never gave up on me when I needed her so now it was my turn to be the strong one and keep pushing forward to a better future no matter how dim the light seemed at the time.

Saphire: (joining the others with Blake) And because of that I had more power to return to her. I felt her hope, determination, and ability to keep moving through the bond we share. Even though I had no idea what happened to her or where she was I somehow knew that she is still moving forward, which gave me the power to move forward as well.

Blake: Me and someone I am close with always fed off of each other's courage and gave each other the ability to keep moving forward ever since we were young.

Weiss: (looking at each of her teammates) Thanks girls.

Yang: (feeling more sure than she has since the initiation) I may not be able to add anything but I do know that even though so much has changed nothing really changed. We all are friends and friends stick together no matter what.

All five girls stop walking and just stand in a circle staring at each other with different smiles on each face.

Headmaster: How about you continue your staring contest when you get to your rooms.

With this team RWBYS continues walking to their living space.

-At The Entrance To The Secret Rooms-

Ruby: Here we are!

Weiss: (looking confused) Um. And what exactly is here?

Saphire: Our Rooms!

Yang: (also looking confused) Um. Not to be mean or anything but there's nothing here.

Ruby: Well it wouldn't be a very good secret if it was obvious!

Saphire: Just follow me and I'll show you.

Saphire then walks into a wall. But instead of the expected thud that usually accompanies walking into a wall Saphire just seems to faze right through the wall. Yang, Weiss, and Blake all stare stunned at the place Saphire once stood.

Ruby: (waving her hand in a come on gesture) Well? What are you waiting for? Come on in!

Ruby then fazes right through the wall like her sister did moments before.

Headmaster: Well you better get going. You don't want to keep them waiting do you? I need to make sure everything will be fine for tomorrow. Remember, just because Ruby and Saphire are my daughters doesn't mean any of you get special treatment when it comes to school.

With that the Headmaster gives the three remaining girls a smirk and walks off down the hall.

Blake: Well, here goes nothing.

Blake then walks up to the wall, takes a deep breath, holds it, and walks through the wall before she can lose her nerve.

Weiss: (mumbling) What have I gotten myself into?

Weiss then walks through the wall, closing her eyes just before hitting the 'wall'.

Yang: Well, this is a… thing.

Yang then walks through the wall, only she tries to stop herself at the last second and loses her balance making her fall through the seemingly solid wall. Landing on her butt on the other side she sees Saphire and Ruby giggling at her entrance.

Ruby: So *giggle* this is a thing huh *giggle*?

Yang: Ha. Ha. How did you even here that?

Saphire then points behind Yang to the wall she just fell through. Instead of seeing a wall as expected she sees the hallway that they were just in like a wall is not in front of her.

Yang: What…? Where…?

Ruby: The wall is still there, no one can see or hear inside here from the hall but we can choose whether to see and or hear them.

Ruby then touches part of the invisible wall that makes it visible to the current occupant inside while Saphire gives Yang a hand up.

Weiss: That is amazing. Do you know how it works?

Ruby: We do. But that will be saved for later, right now you need to be given a tour of the place.

Saphire: Ok! Where do you want to start? We can start with the main area or I can take you directly to where you will be sleeping.

Blake: How about we get settled first and then we meet back here when we are ready.

Ruby: Ok. The bedrooms are this a way.

Saphire: You won't be disappointed. And you could always add personal touches later on it you really want to.

Ruby: So it's agreed that we will show you the rooms we have to choose from and we'll meet back in the living room when we are ready?

Weiss, Yang, and Blake nod their heads just trying to take everything in.

Saphire: Ok then. This way please.

Saphire makes a hand gesture to the hallway to the left of the entrance wall and starts walking with Ruby toward it. The three remaining girls quickly follow once they realize they are being left behind. Taking in their surroundings the girls are surprised about the lack of dust or signs of age expected from a place that hasn't been used since at least before their parents' generation, in fact, the place looks almost… modern. As the group walk down the hall Saphire and Ruby start to talk about the place they now call home.

Ruby: You girls will love it here! Not just here as in where we sleep but here as in the entire school! Here at 'Beacon Academy for Hunters and Huntresses' everyone is created equal, no one is better than anyone else! This is a school where both humans and Faunus can come and feel like they are part of something to be proud of! Cruelty to others will not be tolerated, punishment will be given for such behavior. Now, besides being a school where everyone is equal Beacon is a place to make friends, teammates, acquaintances, even a life partner from time to time. The point is Beacon is a place where the real you comes out of the shadows and shines brighter than ever.

Blake: *chuckling* I don't think that's in the brochure.

Ruby: If it was it would defeat the entire purpose of what we do here. Not everyone can just let themselves be… themselves. If it were that easy then Beacon would just be another school that taught people how to fight.

Weiss: But how would it defeat the purpose of Beacon?

Yang: I think I understand. Correct me if I'm wrong but what I understand is that Beacon takes those with potential and encourages them to do their best. By doing this each student not only unlocks their full potential but does it in a way that everyone is still an individual. Many schools don't do this, which causes their students to be pushed toward being a certain way, but here you choose your own path in a way, these choices are everyday occurrences, things people never think about, yet by giving the students this freedom you create even more potential that can be eventually tapped into. Am I close?

Ruby: You were spot on. To sum it up, by having freedom to do what you want before and after school you make choices that affect who you become which eventually leads to an increase of potential. That is what Beacon Academy is all about, creating individuals.

Weiss: So when Beacon talks about their slogan, "We create individuals", they literally create individuals.

Saphire: That is correct. But enough about the school for now, you can always ask any questions you have later on after you get settled. First I will show you the room me and Ruby will be in and then we will look at the other rooms available and you can talk amongst each other and choose your rooms. You can always switch if you don't like it later on.

Blake: Sounds good to me.

Saphire: Ok… Just curious but, has anyone else noticed that the conversation we just had was pretty long for walking down a hall and we are just now reaching the end of the hall?

Ruby: It's because we slowed down to a near stop once we started talking.

Yang: But weren't we walking normally the whole time?

Ruby: Maybe we are actually computerized characters in some crazy awesome internet series, and someone is creating a story about us for fun and made the hall crazy long for this scene.

Weiss: Well, it would explain how you could take down that Nevermore.

Ruby: Hay! That's taking it too far! I was trying to make a joke!

Weiss: *smirking* I know. That's why I had to mess with you.

Ruby stares at Weiss with what I like to call blank surprise. This is when you are surprised but what was said hasn't sunk in fully yet.

Ruby: (with a growing smile) Nice one. I can see we will become good friends. Especially if you help me prank sis.

Saphire: Ruby. That is enough. There shall be no pranks until I say.

Ruby: *defeated sigh* Spoil sport.

Blake: You two sure don't act like you're the same age.

Saphire: We'll explain later. Ok, back to what we walked here for. We have four rooms, two on the right and two on the left. Starting from the end of the hall that doesn't turn into the living room we have the room me and Ruby will be sharing on the close right, every room is very different from any of the others, the only similarity is that they are all for girls. Just imagine if a boy had ended up on the team, *giggle* being surrounded by girly things. Anyway, let's go into the room I like to call the Rose Room.

Upon entering the room and turning on the lights it was pink with touches of violet as far as the eye could see, which was pretty far because the room was giant. The first thing that was noticed was the red and blue roses scattered across the walls and on the bed sheets, followed by the light violet carpet. The bed was a light pink, almost white, canopy bed with violet emphasizing the details and violet sheer curtains tied to the posts with dark blue fabric. On the bed was pink sheets with red and blue roses designed on it, at the head is three pillows, guess what kind, yup one red rose, one blue rose, and one violet rose. The bed is situated at the far wall in the center, to either side is a bedside table that matches the bed. The rest of the room is basically mirrored, starting from the far wall with the bed there is a light violet vanity table and pink mirror, then a three drawer by three drawer dresser, one red tinted and one blue tinted, and finally an empty display case that looks like it holds some kind of weapon, one has Crescent Rose engraved into it and the other has Lunar Rose engraved. To the left when facing in from the door is a closed door that leads to a walk in closet.

Weiss: Wow… This is nicer than my room at home, and I live in a mansion where I get the best money can buy.

Saphire: Well that's why it's nicer. When we were young girls we hand made everything you see even the designs on the walls are hand painted.

Yang: Wow. It must have taken you forever to finish.

Ruby: It did, but it was worth it. I couldn't tell you how much fun it was to just look at this room after we were finished and know it was all us.

Blake: Are all the rooms this pink?

Ruby: No. But each is still just as girly.

Saphire: Ok let's keep going. Next we will go across the hall to what we call the Snow Room.

The group goes across the hall and opens up the door to see a room that definitely fits its name. The contents of the room are the same as the previous one except there is only one of each thing. The walls are powder blue with very detailed snowflakes scattered across it and the carpet is powder blue. The canopy bed is position the same as the previous room, it is a pure white with powder blue sheer curtains tied off with light red fabric (not pink, more like faded red), two bedside tables in sky blue, to the right is the long dresser like in the last room only in powder blue, the powder blue vanity table and red mirror is to the left, and the pure white weapon case is to the left of the vanity about half way to the door, closet is on the right instead of the left. On the bed is powder blue sheets with snowflakes on it, and at the head is three snowflake pillows, one white, one red, and one powder blue.

Weiss: (with a sparkle in her eyes and hands clasped in front of her) This room is beautiful.

Saphire: I thought you'd like it. But before you choose Let's look at the other rooms.

Weiss: (in a daze, barely registering what was said) Uh huh, ok.

Leaving this room the group then goes down the hall and to the room next to Ruby and Saphire's. Opening the door reveals the exact layout the last room had, but instead of bright colors everything seems to be black and white with spots of dark violet. The placement of everything is exactly the same except for the closet which is on the right instead of the left. The bed is white with, somehow, a black tint to it, I don't mean it is grey, somehow the white bed seems to be surrounded by a black mist that you can see the bed is white but at the same time it looks kind of black. The covers are black with white moons in different stages, even new moon which looks like a black moon with white light emanating from behind it. At the head is, guess what, three pillows, one black, one white, and one dark violet. The sheer curtains are smoky grey tied back with white fabric. The walls are dark violet with moons scattered across it that seem to glow and put light into the room, which they do in a way. The carpet is violet, the bed side tables are the same white with black tint as the bed, the dresser is pure white, and the weapon cabinet is a lighter violet, not regular violet but not dark violet.

Blake: I think I know who this room will belong to. Unless one of you has a secret dark side that is very well hidden.

Yang: I think it's all yours Blake.

Saphire: Well we still have one room left, so let's go see it.

Walking out the lights in the room that no one turned on seem to suddenly fade until the room is covered in darkness. Across the hall is the last room. I wonder who will love this one? Upon entering it looks like almost everything is made of gold. Again, same layout as previous rooms with the closet on the left. The walls are golden in color with orange dragons that are painted to look like they create a heart that is on fire. The canopy bed is white with orange tint and gold sheer curtains tied back by bronze fabric. The sheets are yellow with the same dragon heart design as the walls only it's just one big one, three pillows at the head, one gold, one bronze, and one orange. The bedside tables are bronze, the vanity table is white with orange tint, like the bed, with a gold mirror. The dresser is bronze and the weapon display is gold with orange tint making it look like fire almost. Lastly the carpet beneath them is bronze.

Yang: I believe it is obvious who is getting what room.

Blake: I agree.

Weiss: No arguments here.

With this everyone goes to their new rooms to get settled.

-With Weiss In Her New Room-

Weiss: I want to change. After today I see that I was wrong to believe that just because one group of Faunus are criminals doesn't mean they all are. Just like humans, Faunus all over are just trying to survive. They're scared, scared to show themselves because of the reputation the White Fang has given them. But they are no different than humans, physically they have slight differences with their ears and sometime they have a tail, but on the inside they are no different than anyone else. I vow to help make things better for Faunus everywhere.

-With Ruby And Saphire In The Living Room-

Ruby and Saphire are sitting on the couch waiting for their teammates to enter the room.

Saphire: Weiss really wants to help make things better for Faunus.

Ruby: That's what it looks like. But remember, she can hide her true feelings even from us.

Saphire: Do you doubt that she truly wants to change and help Faunus?

Ruby: No, I do not doubt her. I am just saying that even if we trust her we don't know much about her yet. I won't let my guard down until I know for certain that she is sincere. I can tell she wants to change, but actions speak louder than words, (in a whisper) as we both know.

Saphire: *sigh* You're right. We need to keep our guard up. She is weak until she figures out who she is again, she can easily be manipulated. You know Ruby, sometimes I wonder if you acting younger than your age is just an act, something to make people underestimate you.

Ruby: No. It's not an act, it is a coping mechanism.

Saphire: (looking surprised) What do you mean?

Ruby: You mean you haven't noticed? In the White Fang I would act childish to connect better with all the children, to give them hope for the future by example. By acting more like them and with what we did it taught them that being strong isn't just something on the outside, that you can be strong in many different ways. After that human took over the White Fang I didn't know what to do, I was lost, so I unconsciously turned to familiar ground, and I could never get myself to leave, it was too painful.

Saphire: I'm sorry. I don't know why I hadn't seen it. I thought it was just who you were so I took it upon myself to be the mature one and keep you safe.

Ruby: You don't have to be sorry. Even before we entered the White Fang you were always the one to come to my aid, to be the mature one. Even though we are the same age we seem to be opposite. I always was the energetic happy-go-lucky girl, and you were always the one who would act older to protect me because of it. I often wonder how you and me get along so well when we act like complete opposites.

Saphire: It's because of everything we've done together. All the challenges, all the pain, all the giggles, all the happy memories we have shared. We have gone through so much together, both good and bad, that now we can't be separated no matter how hard people try.

Ruby: You're right. And now we have more reason to stick together.

Saphire: Right.

-A Little Later When Everyone Is In The Living Room-

Ruby: (with obvious excitement for some reason) Ok! You all know where you will sleep, but now you need to know the other things about where you will live! One of those things is where the bathroom is. We actually have two bathrooms. The first is that door in the corner of the kitchen, this one does not have a bath so it can only be used for business and also if you need to quickly fix your hair or something.

Weiss: Why exactly would we need to make a quick fix?

Saphire: Maybe you are running late for classes and you still have signs of bedhead, or maybe you're going to see someone special and you are running late.

Ruby: Ok. Now that you know why we shall move on to the second bathroom. The other bathroom is down the hall to the right of the entrance, opposite the hall that leads to the bedrooms. There you have a bigger mirror, multiple sinks, and a decent sized bath tub. Now that you know where to go if you have to go we will move on to our immediate surroundings. The living room, which we are in, comes with a holo-system for use however you like, it comes equipped with TV, internet, and every program you can think of. During down time you can also play games either solo or connect with each other and play together or against one another. Just beware the file named addicting, those games are addicting. The rest you can see right know just by looking around, we have the multi piece couch and three reclining chairs.

Saphire: Moving on. The kitchen is currently empty because we just got here. So we have no food right now but we do have plenty of plates and silverware from when we were young, though me and Ruby will clean them before anyone uses them to get rid of any dust that may have gathered on them over the years. We have the one sink that is split into two halves, plenty of cabinet room, the refrigerator and freezer, as well as the island that you can see in the center of the kitchen. That is pretty much it for the kitchen, now there is a laundry room down the same hall as the larger bathroom where there is multiple washers and dryers, though I'm not really sure why we put multiple since we didn't need them until possibly now.

Ruby: Oh! We also have a handmade hot spring!

Weiss: Wait a minute. Why would two little girls just decide to make their own hot spring?

Ruby: Well, we didn't, we just fixed it up a little after we realized that the room we thought was just full of odd rocks was something much better.

Weiss: You must be the luckiest people who will ever live. How many people can say that they own their own personal hot spring, let alone say they just found it lying around?

Ruby: I'd say approximately two… That we know of.

Weiss: *sweat drop* You sure have interesting humor at times.

Saphire: Ok. Moving on. We also have a training hall that father built for us. He actually told us that he updated everything because he had a feeling this place would be used in the near future.

Ruby: Oh, don't forget about the automated spa!

Weiss: You have… a what?

Saphire: Yes, we have an automated spa. Even as young girls we liked the feeling of going to the spa. So we had father build one for us with one of the extra rooms that had nothing in it.

Ruby: Not true. There was one thing in it.

Saphire: Oh yeah. There was a pink high heel that spa employees were required to wear during working hours sitting in the middle of the room. It was like someone set it there. It wasn't knocked over or broken, and it looked brand new, I still think it was father messing with us. I mean, what are the odds of finding a single pink high heel used as part of a spa employees uniform just sitting upright in the middle of an empty room that no one has even know about for who knows how long and not even be covered in a speck of dust.

Ruby: I know but father didn't even know about the place before we found the shoe. Even back then we could see when he was lying.

Saphire: *smirking* I wonder if a certain picture is still there?

Ruby: Well, why don't we all go see? We still need to show them the areas over there.

Saphire: What do you girls say? Want to check out the other rooms and possibly see a humiliating picture of your Headmaster?

Blake: Sure.

Yang: I'm definitely coming.

Weiss: I wouldn't miss this for the world.

-In The Sparring Hall-

Ruby: This is the Sparring Hall where we will train together.

Blake: Nice. Only one question.

Ruby: Yeah?

Blake: Where does that door lead to?

Saphire: What door?

Blake: That one. (points to a door in the far corner)

Ruby: (looking very much confused) Weird. I don't remember putting that door there. Did you do that Saphire?

Saphire: No. I did not. But I think we should see what is behind it.

Ruby: Way ahead of you. (Ruby is already half way to the door when she says this)

Opening the door Ruby suddenly freezes and stands motionless in the doorway.

Saphire: Ruby! What's in there?! Ruby?!

Ruby: S-S-Saphire… I think you should see this.

Saphire makes her way over to the door where Ruby is still frozen in place.

Saphire: What's going on with you? You're acting like you just saw fathers ghost.

Ruby: Look inside and tell me what you see.

Saphire: I think I will. It can't be as bad as you make it look.

Saphire then happens to close her eyes while turning to look through the doorway. Upon opening them again she starts to speak.

Saphire: All I see is… our… Rose… Garden… But… how is this possible?

Weiss: What's going on what do you two see? (looks into the room) Oh… My… Gosh.

Yang and Blake come up to join Weiss in seeing what is going on with a certain set of twins.

Yang: Wow.

Blake: Yeah.

Saphire and Ruby start to walk into the room they have just been staring at.

Ruby: How is this possible? No one knew about our secret Rose Garden but us.

Saphire: Not to mention it was abandoned the day I was kidnapped. We haven't been there since.

?: A Mother likes to keep track of her kittens.

Ruby and Saphire both freeze after hearing the voice that just spoke to them. After a few seconds tears start to make their way down the twins' faces and they turn around and tackle hug the person who just spoke.

Ruby: *sob* Mommy!

Saphire: *sob* I can't believe you're really here!

-Author's Notes-

Hmmm. I wonder what the next chapter will be about. (sarcasm alert) I seriously have no idea what I'm going to do for the next chapter. But then again I never do. I'll try to update more often. I got hooked on Legend of Zelda and have been playing the games I have none stop. I finally go to bed about 1 or 2 in the morning almost every night. Please read and review. I draw strength knowing I'm that much closer to taking over the world, in other words daydreaming about random things and wishing they were true. As a side note I used to see R & R all the time but until last year I could not figure out what it meant. I always say comment so it never clicked that it was read and review. I smacked myself in the face after that. I actually do smack myself sometimes, I guess a mental duh wasn't enough for me so I upgraded.
