Chapter 8
A silence befell upon the two people as they tried to think of something to say. Percy was the one to break it.
"So…" The demigod trailed off.
"Where will you go now?" Artemis finished.
Percy shrugged. He honestly hadn't thought of what would happen now. He thought he would just hunt down the hunters for revenge after he escaped Tartarus, but by a turn of events, he somehow became friends with the biggest man-hater in history and who he thought was his enemy.
"I don't know. I think I may just travel around and see what I can do to help now."
Artemis gave a confused look to Percy.
"Why don't you go back to camp?" As soon as she said that, Percy's eyes grew darker and sadder.
"I don't think I can, I mean. Look at me. I still look like I'm 18 while they probably started a family and don't even live in camp anymore." Percy's shoulders drooped a little as he finished. Artemis raised an eyebrow.
"Weren't you here for the awards ceremony?" Percy shook his head. Artemis mentally face palmed.
"Well, your friends are immortal," Percy's head shot up and looked at Artemis in shock. "For the skill they expressed on the Battlefield, the heroes of the prophecy, the camp councilors, and the praetor and centurions were made immortal to train the future generations of demigods." Percy's eyes filled with happiness at the realization that he could go back to camp and meet all his friends.
Artemis internally smiled at Percy's reaction. It made her inexplicably happy to bring joy to the demigod.
"Well shall we go, boy," the goddess teased. Percy smirked.
"Let's go, Arty." Artemis stood shocked for a split second before glaring at the demigod.
"You're lucky that I respect you," Percy just grinned cheekily. Artemis rolled her eyes and grabbed Percy's shoulder before flashing off in a silver light.
They arrived at Thalia's pine at the edge of camp. Percy's eyes sparkled in delight at the sight of the place that had been his home for so many years. The sounds of swords clanging, and rocks falling from the rock-climbing tower, and the distant sounds of voices said that the camp was alive and moving. Percy walked towards the Big House with Artemis trailing behind him in the shadows to prevent drawing attention to themselves. They climbed the steps to the building before knocking on the door.
Percy waited patiently as footsteps sounded from within. Percy recognized the grumbling of the camp councilor as the handle was turned.
"What do you brats want no-" Mr. D looked up and stopped mid sentence. He gained his composure quickly.
"Oh hello Percival Jorgenson." The god said uncaring, though you could see a level of happiness in his eyes.
"Hey Mr. D, can I see Chiron?" The god nodded.
"The old horse should be in the meeting room, now shoo, I still have a pinochle game going on." Percy grinned a little, he missed the god's attitude. He turned to face Artemis when she cleared her throat.
"There is another meeting, I trust that I do not need to baby sit you anymore?"
Artemis said with a slight grin. Percy glared at her playfully before nodding and walking inside and into the meeting room to where the familiar form of a centaur was. Chiron seemed to be deep in thought, staring at the fire. Percy cleared his throat. That seemed to bring the centaur out of his thoughts, and he turned to greet the visitor. His eyes seemed to bulge out of their sockets when they landed on him.
"Impossible…." The centaur murmured.
Percy's face broke into a huge smile as he held his arms out for a hug.
"C'mon Chiron, is that a way to greet your student?"
Chiron wrapped his thought to be dead student in a tight hug, tears gathering in his eyes and a smile across his face.
"How are you doing my boy?"
"I'm doing fine. I see that the camp has grown." Percy said as he pulled away.
Pride clearly shown in the centaur's eyes.
"Indeed Percy, they have become strong. But still as temperamental as ever." Percy gave a soft laugh.
"You should've seen them when they heard that you were banished. They wanted to march straight to Olympus and beat the Olympians until the released you." Percy's eyes widened at the loyalty of his friends before smiling.
"Do they know that I'm free and innocent?" Percy asked.
"Yes, but one camper is making it quite a pain though." Percy raised an eyebrow.
"Alexander Beal, a new son of Zeus. He is saying that you are still a traitor. Since he is a child of the big three, many of the campers who didn't know you believed him." Chiron explained. Percy sighed before a familiar mischievous glint appeared in his eyes. He stood up. Chiron looked at him questioningly.
"Well I better prove him wrong then."
Hello! My name is Line, and I have come to tell you about the most amazing Break.
Percy neared the pavilion when he heard a voice, clearly male with a slightly arrogant tint to it. He flipped his hood on and opened the walked into the back of the pavilion unnoticed.
"That man is a traitor! He killed his own kin! Come and join me! Alex!" A boy that looked about the age of 16 that was a little bit taller than average with blonde hair and a slightly arrogant grin yelled across the pavilion while standing on top of a table. A relatively large group of younger campers cheered in response, while the older campers shot deadly glares at the boy. Percy rolled his eyes, but he smiled at his old friend's loyalty. He slightly tapped his foot to the ground, forcing a smidge of his earth shaking power into it. The ground shook, not much but enough to make the son of Zeus fall and face plant on the ground.
There was silence. Before a girl Percy recognized as Clarisse started laughing hysterically. The older campers that Percy recognized like Annabeth, Leo, Travis, Connor, Katie, Will, Pollux joined in on the laughter. Alex got up and glared dangerously at a girl that looked about the same age as Alex. The girl turned and Percy's eyes widened. She had long black hair and a taller and lean figure with the tan skin of someone who was outside daily. But what Percy noticed most were her eyes. They were ocean-blue, like the open sea with calmly rolling waves. And they were strikingly familiar. Then Percy noticed what table she sat at. His face almost split in half at the realization that he had a little sister, but then was brought back to reality by Alex's mouth.
"You….." Alex growled.
Percy's half-sister turned.
"Yes?" She calmly replied though Percy could see barely restrained anger in her eyes.
"You made me fall!" The son of Zeus yelled.
"WHAT!" Her anger flared.
"WHO ELSE OTHER THEN YOU SEA SPAWNS COULD DO THAT!?" Percy's eyes darkened and decided now were the time to intervene.
"That would be me." He said in a deadly calm voice, as he rose from the crowd. He was an intimidating figure. Being 6 '3" and a hood over his head.
Alex's mouth opened, fear shown in his eyes, before they hardened and he yelled:
"A TRESSPASSER! ATTACK HIM!" The younger campers grouped together but one glare from under his hood was enough to make the scatter. The cabin councilors were suddenly in front of him, weapons out and pointing at him.
"Who are you?" Annabeth ordered.
Percy gave a smile that infuriated the immortal campers.
"An old friend Annabeth Chase"
Shock was present in Annabeth's eyes for a second before she stepped closer to him, knife in hand.
"How do you now me?!" She ordered. She looked at Chiron.
"Why aren't you doing anything?!" Chiron looked up at her confusedly though you could see the mirth in his eyes.
"I don't see anything wrong child."
Percy gave a mysterious smile. "I know all of you Annabeth, Clarisse, Will, Pollux, Drew, Travis, and Katie." He stopped when he noticed his half-sister with them.
"Oh, who's this?" Annabeth opened her mouth.
"Don't tell hi-"
"Sabrina Colton" Percy's half-sister replied.
Percy smiled. Which confused the councilors. Percy spread his arms out.
"Well, welcome to the family, little sister." Shock registered in each demigod's brain that was in the pavilion. Most thought of New Child of Poseidon? Or Trition?! But only one name registered in the older camper's mind.
"P-P-Percy?" Annabeth asked tentatively.
Sabrina's POV
Sabrina had strange feeling around this man, she felt compelled to say her name and she felt like she cold trust him even though his face was hidden and she'd only known him for a few minutes.
Then he called her his half-sister.
Triton was the first name to come to her mind before another name shoved its way through.
Percy she thought. The name was spoken like a legend and like a curse around camp. Alex and his followers had spreading rumors that Percy was a traitor and Alex was the one for them, while the older campers said the name like a role model. The councilors had told her stories about her legendary brother. She strived to be like him, loyal, and righteous.
P-P-Percy?" Annabeth, one of the closet friends of Percy apparently said.
The man started to slide his hood back. The hood slid back to reveal a handsome face. The man had untamed raven black hair and white teeth that shown in his wide smile that could get any girl. But what was most intriguing was his eyes. They were a beautiful sea-green color, and held such experience that she had only seen in the veteran campers and gods. She felt like she recognized him from somewhere.
The younger campers had confusion written across their faces but the older campers gasped as recognition spread across their faces. The councilors were the first to react.
They all tackled him in a hug as Sabrina stood awkwardly to the side, unsure of what to do.
"Percy! You came back!" Voices said in glee from the tangle of old friends. Sabrina smiled at the reunion. But alas, all good things must come to an end.
"THAT'S! PERCY JACKSON!" A voice snarled from behind Sabrina.
Percy's POV
"THAT'S! PERCY JACKSON!" A voice snarled somewhere above the clump of friends.
Percy managed to sit up and stare at the boy in front of him.
"And?"
Alex spluttered. "And? AND! You're a trait-" Alex never got to finish his sentence. His mouth closed and Alex had a panicked look on his face.
Percy had forced his mouth close by using his blood. Percy smirked mischievously.
"What were you saying?' Alex tried and failed to move his mouth. His face turned an ugly shade of red.
Sparks shot off of the Son of Zeus. He took a step towards Percy when the sound of hissing was heard. Percy snapped his head to be greeted with green mist. Percy trailed the mist to find it coming out of Percy's old friends, Rachel. She spoke but instead of hearing one voice, it was like many voices speaking at once.
The children of the sea must work together
Along with the child of the sea's younger brother
The ones forbidden of loving a man
Shall accompany them as they pass
And together they will pave a path
To rid the world of the titans' wrath
And a forbidden love will bloom at last
Silence filled the Pavilion as the Oracle slumped to the floor. Most of the campers were confused, but the older campers were pale. Had they not defeated the titans so many years ago? They couldn't had reformed so quickly. Pandemonium quickly broke out as the older campers tried to call for order.
Olympus, Throne Room of the gods
Artemis was slightly confused why Zeus was having a meeting so soon after the one before. It must be something urgent. She flashed out in a silver light and reappeared in her throne. Zeus, Hera, Demeter, Hades, Hestia, Poseidon, and Athena were sitting in their respective thrones. As usual, Hermes, Apollo, Aphrodite, Dionysus, and Ares were late; or as Aphrodite would say, fashionably late. Boys the goddess thought as the said gods and goddess appeared in their thrones.
"Alright! We are all present. I have something to say!" Zeus thundered. (Pun totally intended)
"I order to ha-" The king of the gods was cut short at the sight of the sun god suddenly rising. The king looked a little pissed at being interrupted.
"Apol-"

The council became silent, as impossible as it seems. The gods started to argue amongst themselves about what each line meant.
"SILENCE" Zeus ordered to quiet the gods.
"Does anyone have any idea about what the prophecy meant."
Athena, being the goddess of wisdom she is, had already tried to decipher the meaning.
"Children of the sea must work together, it obviously refers to Kelp Head's children." The goddess said ignoring the glare from Poseidon.
The goddess continued "It must refer to father's child when it says the sea' younger brother. Then when it says the ones forbidden of loving a man the closet ones to the description are Artemis' hunters. So they will join the questers somewhere "
Artemis was slightly angry that her hunters would be paused from their hunt because of another demigod's quest.
"After that, they will continue the quest, as described that they will pave a path. Then some titans must have escaped the war." This most of the gods paled at this. "The only line I don't understand is the Forbidden love part." Some gods looked at Aphrodite, as she was the love goddess, but she only shrugged. Athena had other suspicions though.
"We must find the questers, until then COUNCIL DISMISSED!" Most of the gods flashed off to do who knows what. But Artemis was about to flash off.
"Wait, Artemis" Artemis looked to see Athena standing there, she looked over the goddess to see Hera and Hestia standing there. Artemis raised an eyebrow curiously.
"I have theory about the last line, but I did not want to say it in front of father. I think he might have killed any demigod near us." Artemis looked confused as did Hera but Hestia just stood there, the literal fire in her eyes expressionless.
"When it talks about forbidden love I believe it talks about one of us." The goddesses wore incredulous and angry expressions as they started to protest.
"WAIT! Let me explain, it says the love is forbidden so since we took vows of being a maiden it could be very possible it applies to us." Hera looked like she wanted to slap the goddess of wisdom but contained her anger.
"I see, but I. Am. The. Goddess. Of. Marriage, I will not cheat on my husband no matter how much he does to me." Hera said stiffly before flashing away.
"I see your point niece, but I'm afraid it applies to you two, as I love people but more in a family way." With that the goddess disappeared in a tender fire.
Color started to drain from Artemis' face as the two goddesses said their words and parted. Hestia, who was almost never wrong, had said that either her or Athena would fall in love. Her mind was in denial, there was no way she could fall in love. She was the goddess of maidens who made a group of hunters AGAINST love for Zeus' sake. But there was that little voice in the back of her head. There was a high chance that it might be her. Between her and Athena, she had a 50% chance, the percentages were not in her favor. Without warning she teleported away leaving a stunned Athena.
Artemis appeared in a forest. There she finally broke down. Tears fell from her eyes as she curled up, not caring who saw at the moment. For all she knew everything that she lived for against love was going to be wiped away in a quest. She continued to cry until a familiar voice sounded out.
"Arty?"
MUHAHAHHA I ARE SO EVIL :D Anyways, I think this is the longest chapter in this story, so yay~ I want to thank you all for basically everything, reviewing, favoriting, following, and giving advice! I hoped this satisfied that thirst for another chapter that I tested too many times. Oh ya and remember, constructive criticism is appreciated, like point out errors that I made that I overlooked. Flames are really not appreciated. Thanksgiving is coming up and I'm going away so it might be awhile though not as much as last before I post another chapter.
Bai~ and Happy Thanksgiving
