Timeless Wonders

Chapter 8

Darkness Within Him

It was a fortunate fact that Richard was willing to admit, sometimes, he truly did make bad decisions. Like the one time he tried to do a backflip off a picnic table in his younger years and ended up with a broken leg. Or another time when he purposely mixed the wrong chemicals in his college class and managed to burn the entire desk to ashes that coasted him nearly a semester of classes.

But there were other mistakes, life changing mistakes, that altered the course of his life. And right now, the one that pinged in his heart was the choice he made when it came to ending his romantic relationship with Tina.

Sure, both she and he had came to terms they didn't love each other in the way that lovers should have. But now Richard questioned that decision.

What if he had tried a little harder to make things work between him and her?

The day things had begun to shift for Richard was the day he first saw Princess Alicia on the news. She had been dressed in a long, light blue gown with her hair lose about her shoulders. And while he hadn't fallen in love with the Princess at that moment, the idea of working for the royal family and abandoning his college studies came to mind. To him, he saw the entire idea as a calling. When it came to his current relationship with Tina, after 2 days of mulling this all within his head, he made the choice to end things with her. After all, they never truly loved each other and soon, he would leave the college for at least two years for security training. Thankfully, she had been willing to remain friends. In the end, she wanted a family and he simply didn't.

But now, if Richard hadn't seen the Princess that day on the news, or if the idea of working of the royal family hadn't come to him, what would have happened?

More than likely, Richard would have stayed in college as a Defensive Attorney and would have made Tina his wife. Maybe they would have three children and lived the rest of their days as normal people did. The lives of the Royal Brodex family would be something he would only see on the news and yet, his entire family would still remain out of their issues.

So as Richard now watched from his position on his knees as Ganondorf matched his way towards Tina's fallen body on the cold ground, he was fully willing to admit, he had made a terrible mistake somewhere in his life to lead to this. While he was being held on the side of the road, Tina was less than 100 feet from him - yet - too far for him to anything but watch her there on the ground, unable to move herself.

"Don't!" Richard grunted as he tried again to yank free of the two men that held an arm each. He paid no attention to the blood that still ran down his chin as he shook with anger and fear for what may happen next.

Ganondorf, on the other hand, didn't even spare a look at him as the large man stood over Tina who was slowly coming to.

Her eyes fluttered open, looking directly up at him as her feature slowly turned to horror.

"Tina! Get up and run!" Richard cried out to her as he watch Ganondorf grab the single zipper of his orange, prison suit the went straight down. The sound of him pulling the zipper down was loud enough to seem ominous.

"Oh, she is far too weak to do that." the dark man said with a chuckle as dropped to his knees.

Grabbing both of her ankles, he spread her legs wide with an evil grin on his lips.

"That one kiss, since she didn't have much to give in the first place, has made her defensively against me." Ganon continued as his hands slowly ran from Tina's ankles up her legs. As his fingers came to her dress, he simply pushed it up towards her hips until white panties were in full view for all to see.

"You - sick piece of shit! What did you do to me?!" Tina shouted as shaking hands moved to push him away weakly.

Panic rose in Richard's chest as Ganondorf straddled Tina's hip.

"You are too weak to matter." Ganon replied as his hand reach down and into the open jump suit.

"But a little taste will be just the pick me up I need!"

The world seemed to tilt for Richard as Ganon finally freed himself. Ridged with need, it was hard to look away as the large man stroked himself a few times before he moved over Tina.

Tina, however, seemed to have accepted this faith of what was about to happen to her. Tears welled up in Richard eyes as she glared up at Ganondorf as if she dared him to continue. With her trembling lips balled up tightly and tears the that were already falling from the corner of her eyes, hatred filled her expression.

"Look at that face!" Ganondorf laughed as he reached hand down between them and out of sight.

"Let's see how long you can keep that angry look in your eyes when I start fucking you, hmmm?"

From Richard's angle, there wasn't much he could see when it came to whether or not Ganondorf had ripped Tina's panties away or if he pushed them to the side. He couldn't even see the moment the evil man pushed himself deep into her due to their legs blocking the view. But the horrific truth was obvious from the way his hips jerked and the painful groan that came from Tina. But she hadn't been given the chance to recover as he begin to reliantly rocked his hip violently. Screams filled the night air, causing Richard to finally give up and dropped his head with his own eyes closed.

Great sobs filled his chest as Richard tried to block out the sounds of screams and grunts. But his breaking heart quickly turned to rage as felt the fire of it boil at the pit of his stomach. The anger that filled him was dizzying and new, making him afraid for only a moment. The moment, which was no longer than a few heartbeats, past as he locked on to a single idea - Ganondorf needed to die for the horror he had so far inflicted on the only two women he cared so much about. He loved Tina. But Princess Alicia, while every cell in his body hummed a warning to gain control over his emotions, intensified and boiled down to a single fact.

Both Tina and the Princess was his and he would kill for them both.

Richard had gone slack in the grips of the men's hold the moment Tina was violated. But now, and to his own amazement, he was now doubting their strength and he was ready to test them.

Without a word, he suddenly yanked his arms down hard. The pull was enough to free himself and before the men could recover and grab him again, Richard leapt away from them. Strength suddenly filled him as he dashed towards Ganondorf and Tina with a speed he had never felt before.

When he was only inches away, Ganondorf suddenly pushed himself away from Tina without even sparing a look. Gravel dust flew as Richard came to a skittering halt right next to Tina. It was agonizing how badly he wanted to chase after Ganondorf and attempt to make him pay dearly for what he had done. But to see the sobbing woman at his feet was enough to give him pause as he knelt down to the road.

"Do not attack him!" Ganondorf bellowed as Richard looked up to see the evil man glaring towards the direction the other men were while he worked to tuck himself back into his jumpsuit. "You fools, he will kill you as he is now!"

Looking back down at Tina, Richard's heart filled with sorrow to see her now.

"Tina, I'm so sorry!" He whispered as he quickly noticed that her panties had indeed been ripped away from her, exposing her. Pulling her dress down her thighs to cover her, he reached down and pulled her into his arms while clenching her close.

"I...I don't get it..."

With Tina pressed so close to him, he barely caught the words that slipped from her. But when her hand on his chest gently pushed him away an inch, he moved to look down at her.

"I'm so confused." she muttered as she looked up at him a moment before closing her eyes.

Richard shook his head as he closed his eyes and pressed his forehead to hers. "He did something to Princess Alicia too - I can't explain it - but that asshole is going to pay!"

"No." Tina replied with a sharp shake of her head before she looked up at him again puzzled.

"How did you get to be so small? And Ganondorf, he was..."

Richard pulled away an inch as Tina gasped while closing her eyes and shaking her head.

"Link...what in the world is going on?" she whispered.

Richard's eyes snapped up at Ganondorf as hatred rolled off of him like a steam.

That name...

Ganondorf had called him by that name during their first encounter and while he wondered how Tina knew it or why she would even call him that, he could only assumed she was in shock.

Ganondorf, however, but had paused in the mist of zipping the suit back up when their eyes locked.

"So I see." He hissed.

"I had completely forgot - you did disappear into the bathroom with Zelda if that restaurant footage holds any truth at all. Did you fuck her? No...if you had, she would have remembered everything by now. Hmmm, you must have kissed her then."

A nasty grin crossed his lips as he held a hand up.

"Isn't it nice - that power that courses in your veins right now? Like a sweet strawberry covered in tar. And I don't doubt that now, you would give anything to stick your dick in her - am I right?"

"Shut the fuck up!" Richard snapped as he held Tina even closer to him while wondering if it was her or them both trembling as his arms shook.

"Dear Boy, you are clueless!" Ganondorf continued as his open hand turned into a tight fist.

"You did well to distance yourself from her. But now, now that you've had sip, you will never be satisfied until you have all of her! You will be drawn to her, more than you already have been before! And all you are going to want to do is rip her clothes off and fuck her - just like I did your Fairy Bitch! You may be the Hero of Light, but there is a darkness in you too!"

Richard opened his mouth to snap back at Ganondorf, but not even a single word had left his mouth as suddenly, his breath was cut away by the thick hand that encircled his throat.

It took a moment for him to catch up with what had just happened as he glared into Ganondorf evil eyes. A second ago, he had holding Tina. Now, she was no longer in his arms as he was being held up by a single, thick hand around his throat and his feet barely touching the ground. He froze, only now realizing he hadn't even seen the large man move at all.

"But that kiss, sadly, isn't enough to defeat me." Ganondorf hissed as Richard struggled to free himself from the thick hand squeeze.

"I'm faced with a dilemma, you see..." the dark man replied as if wasn't nearly chocking the life out of Richard. Thankfully, his grip ease enough to allow him to breath, but remained firm since the struggle to pull the fingers from his throat was proving useless.

"I haven't a clue as to where the Princess is and no way of finding her. I don't share a link with her, but you do. Your past self that sleeps in your soul can find her no matter where she goes."

Turing away from Richard, Ganondorf glared over his shoulder towards the Hummer with a frown.

"Koume - get your Red Ass out here now!"

Richard's eyes snapped towards the opening as a young girl practically leaped from the passenger side.

"I would like to remind you - Ganon - you owe me a level of respect - given the fact my sister and I raised you!" The teenager snapped as dropped her hands down into the large pockets of her lab coat. When her eyes slide to Richard, he felt a chill go down his back.

Koume, to his horror, looked just like the young teenage he had encountered in Ganondorf home when him and Tina had been kidnapped from his home. Only this girl's hair was firetruck red as it too fell down the center of her back. There was something very wrong with the last girl with white hair, so Richard didn't doubt Koume was just as dangerous.

"Is it done?" Ganondorf questioned as Koume slowly stepped next to the man's side.

Rolling her eyes, the teenage pulled a hand from her pocket while now held a small, glass bottle that seemed to be filled with a black liquid.

"I think the fairy is finally awake." Koume replied as she placed the bottle into Ganondorf's free hand while looking down at Tina.

Tina had finally pushed herself up from the ground where she lend back on the Hummer with her legs pulled close to her chest. Bewilderment filled her eyes as she looked up at Richard while looking as if she was in a state of shock. In that moment, he wanted to scream for her to get up and run. But not only he feared the evil man had truly done something to weaken her, each breath that he took was too hard and painful to even make a sound.

"Will this work?" Ganondorf demanded as he held the bottle up to inspect what was inside.

"Are you sure it won't kill the boy in the process?"

Richard looked over at Koume as she meekly shrugged.

"Potions and magic in this era is odd and unpredictable." she said while smiling up at Richard.

"Hopfully, it won't kill the boy!"

"Witch!" Ganondorf hissed as he looked down at the shorter girl with a scowl.

"If the boy dies, it will wake Zelda up before I can steal her powers away. That happens and we are all back in that void!"

Koume smile vanished as she gave Ganondorf dark look.

"I get the fact that either you or the boy have to fuck the Princess in order to wake her up and you just plan on stealing her powers in the process, but potions and magic in this world are still unpredictable! I don't know what else to tell you! Either use it or don't!"

Richard closed his eyes, grimacing in confusion at everything the two were discussing. He was slowly beginning to understand that Ganondorf believed that Princess Alicia went by Princess Zelda. For weeks, he didn't want to believe in the nonsense of magic and powers. But ever since the incident in the hospital garage where he had saved Alicia, what was real and what wasn't was beginning to blur together.

Suddenly, Richard was snapped out of his thoughts as he was roughly shoved down to the ground.

"Stop it Ganondorf! Leave Link alone!" came a frighten cry from Tina as Richard's view was blocked by the larger man.

"You know Boy, I heard you and Navi was a thing back in the day." Ganondorf said causally as he placed a heavy knee on Richard's chest as he let go of his throat.

"I'm sure you fucked her, but I guess you weren't powerful enough to free her past memoirs back then. Now, anyone you touch from our era will awaken with you dick inside of them - like me. Something about souls mingling, I really don't get why sex is the key, but alas, it is. So if I, say, fucked you, you would remember who you are!"

"Sick asshole!" Richard rasped as he fought to push the heavy knee off his chest. "You're going to wish you had done that to me and not Tina when I'm done with you! She's my friend and you're going to die for what you've done to her! You had no right touching her at all!"

"No, I'm not. And you can stop calling her Tina now. She's Navi, your fairy bitch that I plan to rape repeatedly until there isn't an ounce of power left in her. Now, shall we get started?"

Richard was about ask just what did Ganondorf mean, when unexpectedly, the large man's knee rose an inch before slamming down hard into his Solar Plexus. As Richard gasped in pain, he had only a second to see the bottle with the dark liquid flash before his eyes before it was poured into his open mouth. As he took in a desperate mouth full of air, the cold liquid slithered down his throat.

The cold wetness that seemed to stick to one side of her cheek was enough to slowly make Alicia open her eyes.

She took a moment letting her mind collect itself as confusing clouded her thoughts. For the moment, she was made aware that she was lying on the ground. Dark trees showing the hint of dawn loomed above her head as it throbbed. Painful groaning, she pushed herself up on her elbows from the Earth.

Just what in the world happened?

Slowly standing, Alicia looked down at her gown that was fully ruined by now. Dirt and rips now dulled the golden, expensive dress. Her hair, that had been pinned, now fell around her face in tangles as mud clung some of the stands to her face.

Shivering, Alicia looked towards the trees, seeing nothing there before she turned completely around and gasped.

Nauseous hit the pit of her stomach as she wrapped her arms about her middle as her eyes landed on the car before her that was serval feet away in the road. Her mind raced, recounting all the events that led up to why she was standing there...

Time was lost to her as she recalled the moment King Maxwell had handed her over to Nero for the sake of gaining control over a company he had sought to destroy for years. Her own father had traded her over as if she was nothing more than a doll. The tears of pity had finally stopped as anger and rage filled her chest. She fought like a mad woman when they attempted to drag her to the large Cadillac. The two men pushed her into the back seat just as Nero was slipping into the back next to her. As soon the two men jumped back into the front of the car, they quickly did a u-turn and pulled back onto the road.

Nero, who simply could not wait, had launched himself onto her. He had grabbed her face, kissing her as if his life depended on it before he forced her down on the seats. He violently tore at her dress, the skirt beneath it for the purpose of flare giving him a hard time when it came to him finding his way between her legs. But it was the new spark of desperation that both scared Alicia and gave her the fighting chance she needed. Not too long ago, fear would have frozen her, causing her to lay still and cry over what was happening.

But not this time.

While Nero had been busy trying to tear away at her dress, his attention had not been on trying to hold her down. Screaming, Alicia took the upper hand as she drove one of her bare feet that had lost its shoe right into the bandage on his neck. The move was enough to stun him and it was all she needed as she flung her between the seats, thankful there was no partition in the car. Without a second thought, she grabbed the wheel with both her hands and jerked it to one side with all her might. She had had a moment to feel the car spin before she blacked out.

Now, as she looked at the car that was flipped on its side and the fact that she standing before it, it made her sick to realize she must have been thrown from it and had survived. All she could see now was the hood from the way it laid in the road.

Alicia felt herself silently gag once before her shook her head, willing the sickness away. No, she didn't have time to be retching there on the ground. Looking towards the car on its side, she wasn't sure how long she had been out, but she knew that she needed to get some fast help.

She cast a longing look towards the woods and made the quick decision that getting lost in the forest wasn't the best choice. But as she looked back to the car, she knew that between the driver, the passenger, and Nero, someone had to have a phone. With the idea that maybe she could grab it from one of them while they were knocked out from the accident was enough to make her hurry to the over turned car.

As she moved around the car, Alicia nearly fell backwards as she almost ran right into Nero. Blood covered his forehead and even he looked shocked for a moment to see her. But the moment only lasted a few seconds before he raised a shiny gun up towards her.

"You...bitch!" he hissed.

He opened his mouth to say more, but his words were chocked off as he fell to his knees, vomiting on the ground. With the gun loose in his grip, Alicia quickly reached for it, easily snatching it from his hands as she held it pointed out towards him shaking. She half expected him to try and grab it. But when he looked up at her and smiled, a bit of her own bravery was lost.

"Do it." Nero mumbled as he stayed on his hands and knees while glaring up at her.

"God knows I deserve it!"

"For once, we agree on the same fact!" Alicia cried out.

"Then do it!" Nero snapped. "Because if you don't, I'm going to rip that dress off and finished what I started!"

Alicia let out a sound of annoyance she shook her head.

"You simply cannot be serious right now! You look as if you are only seconds away from falling into a coma and yet, all you can think of is-is that!? What is wrong with you? Are you not aware you were just in a car accident?"

When Nero didn't bother to answer and continued to stare coldly at her, Alicia turned her attention to the car.

The other two men had yet to emerged which was a fact that was slowly beginning to make her worry.

Had she mistakenly killed them?

Shaking her head, the Princess decided that no-she didn't have time to think about that.

With one hand holding the trembling gun, she held out her other, palm up, towards Nero.

"Your phone - hand it to me now!" she demanded.

"Or what?!" Nero challenged as he sneered the words between his teeth.

This was one of the few moments Alicia wished she knew how to shoot a gun. It was ever so tempting to prove she was serious by firing a round near Nero - only to scare him into submission. But no matter how tantalizing the idea was, she wouldn't dare take the chance of accidently killing him from poor aim. That simply was not who she was.

"The other men that were in the vehicle with us may be dead!" she cried out, her voice cracking with worry.

"So either I can stand here, pointing this weapon at you until a car comes this way, or, you can hand me your cell phone! Either way, you have lost Nero!"

Adrenaline was beginning to make Alicia's knees tremble, which thankfully, was hidden beneath the large dress. She doubted her ability to hold the gun aimed at Nero for long since she too felt as sick as he looked. But she twisted her lips in a frown while trying hard to look angry and brave enough to kill.

To her delight, her method worked as Nero swore while reaching into a back pocket before tossing a slim cell phone at the hem of her dress.

"Thank you." she snapped while keeping the gun pointing as she reach down to grab the phone.

But the moment her eyes glanced down at the phone, Alicia didn't see Nero move until he tackling her to the ground. The slamming of her back against the pavement fueled her enough to struggle and try push him away with her one free hand as he started to straddled her hips. It wasn't until he managed to yank the gun from her and press the barrel roughing to her cheek when she finally stopped clawing at his arms.

"Okay- fucking stop it!" Nero snapped as he lend down close to her face.

"I swear, I will blow a hole in that pretty face of yours if you don't calm down! You have been fighting me since we took you!"

"You expect me to just simply be a good kidnapped woman and follow your every order?!" Alicia hissed as she glared at Nero, the gun staring to make her cheek throb with pain.

"Do not waste your time in thinking it will be that simple again!"

"Oh it will be simple! Do you want to be shot again?! Don't test me, Princess! I did it once - I'll do it again! Now, are you going to be nice and calm the hell down?!"

The gun pressed into her cheek was really beginning to hurt, but she refused to be afraid. No, Nero just made her angry since there were already enough scarier men in her life. But with the thought of him shooting her again, and she knew he would, it was enough to make Alicia nod her head once.

"Good girl." Nero purred as he slowly moved off of her while still aiming for her face with the gun.

Reluctantly, Alicia quickly pushed away from him as she stood, her hands in tight fists at her sides. To her disappointment, the man before her no longer looked so green, meaning her chances of snatching the gun away while he vomited was not going to happen again. As her eyes darted to the flipped over car that was behind Nero, she felt a sadness fill her chest. It must have shown since Nero chuckled darkly.

"They are probably dead. It's a wonder we even survived. And look at you Princess - not a single scratch after being thrown from the car! Maybe it's because I got a few kisses from my lady luck!"

While Alicia too wondered how she had managed to be okay, she dimly shook her head, deciding she would let this nearly impossible fact bother her later.

"They are probably hurt and you should call for help if you had even a bit of dignity." she replied angrily.

"Too bad for you, Princess, I don't have even an ounce of that. Those guy may have worked for me, but it's not as if..."

Nero's words slowly trailed off as his eyes averted behind Alicia. Anger crossed his face as he stepped closer to her, his eyes no longer on her, but the gun still pointed in her direction.

Curious, Alicia turned to look over her shoulder and to her surprise, she nearly smiled at who she saw.

"Richard!" slipped from her as couldn't believe her eyes.

With his head bow, the former guard of her family's security forces stood in the middle of the street, his hair hiding his eyes. He was standing so close, less than 50 feet away, making her wondered where in the world he had came from. Or better yet, how she didn't even hear him step up behind her like that. But the oddest part was the sword he held in one hand. It was long, the blade almost black in the raising morning sun, and it was clear to see it was very much real.

"Back the fuck up!" Nero snapped as he stepped up next to Alicia with the gun still aimed at her.

"Or I'll kill her. I don't know who the hell you are - but you must be an idiot if you bought a sword and I have a gun!"

Slowly, Richard's arm that held the sword rose taking up the span of 6 seconds before it was held above his still bowed head.

"What the hell?" Nero managed to mumbled before the sword was suddenly thrown towards them with such speed, Alicia screamed as she stumbled away. Falling to her bottom, she glanced up, her eyes going wide as gun that was pointed at her seconds ago now lay next to her. And so did the entire arm that was holding the weapon.

Looking up, she covered her mouth as Nero first looked shoulder, which was no longer there, before he felt backwards to the ground and didn't move.

The heavy smell of blood hit Alicia like a wave as de'ju'vu swam over her. She watched as Richard slowly walked passed her and over Nero's body as he picked up the sword he had just thrown like a freebie.

"Richard? What did you just do?" she whispered as he stepped to her, still never looking at her as he gently grabbed her hand with his other and pulled her to her feet.

In utter shock, she didn't resistance him still holding her as he started to walk, her eyes looking over her shoulder at Nero.

The man was a murdering rapist and Alicia knew he would never be a good person. But death - that was something she would never wish on a person. When he had attacked her weeks ago, she had blindly swung the small stake knife, never truly intending to do the kind of harm that could have killed. She had just wanted him to stop, just like now. Yet, the idea of cutting his arm off and the fact that now, he lay on the road bleeding to death with closed eyes, she simply couldn't just let a person die that way if there was even a possible chance he was still alive, no matter how wicked he was.

"We cannot just leave him like that!" she cried as she turned back to Richard, only to discover he was leading her towards the woods.

As they stepped into the dark trees, Alicia tugged hard to pull her hand from his. But when the grip on her wrist did not loosen, a small trickle of fear rose to her throat.

"Richard! Richard, I command you to stop! What you did to Nero was horrific enough, but there are men trapped within that flipped car. They, along with Nero, may still have a chance to be saved! Nero has a phone on the ground back there! Turn back so that we can retrieve it and call for help if you do not have one yourself!"

Still, her words seemed to fall on deaf ears as Richard pulled her further into the wood. Looking over her shoulder again, the morning light from where they had entered the forest was becoming fainter as the trees thickened.

"Where are we going?" Alicia asked quietly as she looked back towards Richard.

She took note of his suit, the same suit he had worn at the restaurant. Opening her mouth, she was about to question if he was angry as to what happened when frown crossed her lips. No, that wasn't even important right now and surely that wasn't the reason why he was acting so strangely.

Again, she tried to tug her hand away, more forcibly this time. But when he gripped her even tighter, fear slowly worked its way around her.

"Richard- let go of my hand!"

But when her command again did nothing to grab his attention, Alicia reached out, wrapping her arm around a nearby tree. This jerked Richard to a stop as she held on.

Before she could speak, Richard spun around, the sword in his free hand dropping to the mossy, forest ground. She wasn't even given the chance to gasp as she was suddenly pressed to the tree by his body. The hand he had firmly held was now pressed into the bark above her head as he leaned in closer to her.

Alicia's eyes went wide as she looked up at Richard. Or at least...whom she had assumed was Richard Doone.

The man that held her looked like the formal, royal guard, only his skin was so pale, he looked sick. His blonde hair hung in limp tangles around his face and he smelt like black smoke. But the most frightening part of all was his eyes.

Completely black iris, showing not a hint of white, stared down at her with not a single expression within them. The Princess shivered, having known the sword throw was far too accurate, too perfect to be normal. The man that looked at her now certainly was not normal either.

"Who...who are you?" she breathed, too afraid to move.

"Link."

The simple name came out more like the hissing of a snake than a noun. Alicia wanted to scream, to fight her away from this man that looked like Richard but called himself Link. However, the man had just saved her - right?

"Okay, Link..." she started slowly as her heart raced in her chest.

"Where are we going?"

Blackened teeth came into view as the man smile at her.

"He sent me for you, did you know?" he hissed.

"He can't find you, can never find you unless he already knows. But I can, no matter where you go."

"A-are you talking about Richard?" Alicia questioned in a shaking voice.

"Ganondorf."

For a moment, the Princess could swear the name itself seemed to echo around them. She realized it was getting harder to breath, harder to stay calm as Link continued.

"But Ganondorf is a fool. Why would I take you back to him? Why? No. No, you are mine to keep. I will take you away. Away from Ganondorf. Away from Richard. Away from the King. Far, far away..."
