~Alice~
"Nonsense Mycroft, she doesn't need a hospital, the drug won't have any lasting effects and her injuries don't need immediate medical help." The voice cuts through the haze. Sherlock?
"Yes brother dear, but I just want to made sure she doesn't have any lasting injuries. Just because you think your invincible does not mean she is." Mycroft?! Dear lord, really?
"Why don't you boys let me decide, ya? I AM a doctor after all" I sit up, slowly cause my head still swims with every movement. I try to open my eyes too, but it's far to bright for that. I hear movement, then the soft click as the harsh overhead light is turned off. One of the boys must have noticed my discomfort then. My eyes open to see Sherlock walking over to his chair and elegantly perching on the edge of it. Mycroft is standing infront of me, with a huge frown on his face.
"Are you alright Alice?" His voice sounds worried, good, he deserves it for dragging me into his stupid politics. I look straight into his eyes... Then I flick him in the nose like you would do to a misbehaved puppy. He jumps back, hand covering his nose. Sherlock is snickering in the background, he'll get his soon.
"That" I say as I get up and walk to the kitchen "is for getting me drugged twice in one day, and snogged by some psychopath with a power complex." The snickering stops, and instead is replaced with stoney silence. The only sound was me making tea, swearing when I accidentally burn my finger on the stove.
"Are you getting anywhere on the case, Sherlock?" I call from the kitchen. No answer. Prick. I finish making my tea and go sit back in the living room, clamming a particularly comfy chair as my own. The boys are having a starring contest, there way of communicating in their own Holmes way... It's intriguing. I probably will never see anything that will be like this, they know each other well enough, and can deduce exactly what the other is trying to say... It's amazing.
Mycroft sighs, shaking his head. He turns to leave, patting my head as he goes.
"Just be careful, your not as invincible as you believe" whether he is directing this at Sherlock or me I have no idea. It was probably both.
"Are you alright" Sherlock says is a quiet voice after Mycroft leaves. I just smile at him, to tell him I'm just fine. He gets the message it seems, because he gets up and starts pacing.
"We got nowhere with our little adventure..." I watch him and listen to his rambling for a while, just enjoying my tea. There is a knock at the door down stairs, which is opened by mrs hudson. I hear voices down stairs, then foot steps. The door opens and officers pile in.
"This is a drugs bust," someone says. I get up and see its D.I Lestruade. What?
"Detective inspector? May I ask why you are disturbing the peace?" I ask with a small smile, tilting my head to the side. He sadly smiles at me, "sorry Miss Watson"
"Doctor" Sherlock says from his position in the center of the room. He stopped pacing to glare at all the people who are messing with his experiments, yelling at them when they skrew something up.
"Alice." I say to the frazzled D.I. "Please, Dr Watson is to formal." He smiled at me.
"Call Lestruade then." He smirks at Sherlock, "when Sherlock withholds evidence from us, we go on a drug hunt in his apartment"
"Why? It's not like you'll find anything, no one would be that dum-"
"Alice" a deep baritone voice says, cutting off anything I had to say. He looks at me with his normal face, but with a hint of shame.
"Seriously?! Wha-... I just... Really?!" A hint of fear shows just a fraction in his eyes, then it's gone. "... Fine, that's fine..." I rub my face, then walk up to Sherlock, getting right by his face, quite a feat ,given our hight differences.
"How long?" I say in a voice that just below a whisper. I know I won't have to elaborate. He know what I'm asking. He looks me in the eye.
"Not recently. Several months." His voice answers back, using the same volume as I was. So he has been clean for a while. Quite a good while.
I smile at him, "good." I pull back and see everyone has stopped and was looking at us. "Right..." I see Anderson poking his head from the kitchen. I look at lestrudel, a small smile on my face.
"I think I need another cup of tea." I turn and walk into the kitchen, passed the officers and Anderson standing there. I hear talking in the living room, but I ignore it. Anderson comes and leans next to me on the counter while I prepare my tea.
"Hello again, cutie" he winks at me. "What is a pretty thing like you doing in the freaks house?"
"I live here." His eyes roam my body up and down, I see guys do this often. It's duscusting. He is undressing me with his eyes, letting them roam my body, settling in the curves I try hide with baggy jumpers, because I hate when people do this...
"Do you? Well, now I know where you live then" he smiles, preditorarylike with a hungry look in his eyes. "So, Alice," he leans closer to me, pressing his body to my side."I was wondering if you would be free tomorrow."
"I most likely not going to be." I say flatly, pouring the water in my tea.
"You might want to find some time, cause I wanted to take you on a date, cutie" he puts an arm around my waist as he says this. His hand is way to close to a no area and he is pressed far to close to me for comfort. Sigh. I guess it's time I show him just how not interested I am. I set my tea down softly, far enough away that it wouldn't spill or break, then I got started.
~Sherlock~
I was explaining to Lestruade about my breakthrough (Rachel was the password to her email, meaning we could track her phone via gps and that would lead us to her killer, simple.). 'I wonder if Alice is impressed' I turn to look at her face and find her... Gone, again! She must have gone to the kitchen to make tea. But Anderson is gone too. Shit, who knows what he would do to her. I stand up and head to the kitchen, looking in. Lestruade follows me. In the kitchen, I see Anderson, leaning into a fridged Alice, with his arm wrapped around her, his hand wrapping around her leg and heading to a very private place. He was a dead man. Just when both Lestruade and I were going to do something, Alice grabbed Anderson's hand, and twisted it to where it flipped his entire body around. She shoves it into his back, and trips him so he is on the ground. He tries escaping, but it seems to prove far to painful. I smirk at the scene before me, with Lestruade covering his mouth with his hand. In only a few seconds, small, sweet Alice efficiently subdued the trained officer who was just a few seconds earlier, trying to get her into bed.
"Now, Mr Anderson, I believe it would be a shame is your arm were to break, don't you think?" She pulls it just a hair to show she is in the position to break it, making him wimpier. "Yes, it would hurt very very bad. That might happen of you try to touch me like that again. It's your choice." She let's go of his arm and takes a step back, eyes losing their intensity, and grabbing her tea, leans back on the counter. Anderson is lying on the floor, cradling his arm. Lestruade can't hold back his laughter any longer, and everyone who has seen the spectical is split between humor, fear, and wonder at my sweet little Alice, who is currently sipping her tea like she didn't just nearly reduce a grown man to tears. I for some reason feel pride at her, knowing she could have very well broken every bone in his body if she wanted to, yet could heal them as well. I start to feel that warmth in my chest again, the feeling I got when she brushed off the knowledge about my old drug habits like it was unimportant, and when she destractingly stared at me while I paced about in thought... A soft ding brings me out of my thoughts. The computer has found the phone, I can sort my thoughts out later, right now I have a murderer to catch.
