Go west young man, that's what I was always told. Well, in order to stay in the US, I really can't go much further west. We're in California! Sonoma, California to be exact! Race 7 of the RRR brings us here.

This is a road course week, meaning powerups! This FULL road course has 12 turns, but we don't do the full course. I'm not sure how it's figured up, but we'll figure that OUT I guess.

2. Sticky

3. Rancis

4. Taffyta

5. Candlehead

6. Vanellope

7. Citrusella

8. Torvald

DRIVER SPOTLIGHT: Gloyd

He finally picked up his 1st RRR win, EVER last week. He's also got the pole for this race! He's hoping he can ride that momentum into another win, and a higher place in the points standings!

GREEN FLAG

Gloyd leads everyone down into turn 1, not that far beyond the S/F line. Powerup boxes aren't there yet, so it's clean racing as of right now. The drivers exit turn 2, jumbling up into single file. It's a madhouse though, because they're still trying to pass even now, and the track is small and tight through here. Passing isn't easy through here. Best chances are through turn 7A and 11, the major braking sections.

However, Powerups have finally appeared! Game changers indeed! Gloyd picks up the first one. It's Hot Spot! If you don't remember this powerup, it's a Hot Tamale land mine! Gloyd places it coming out of 4A, where he swings wide, and travels down the short straightaway to 7A.

2nd place Vanellope narrowly avoids it, but 3rd place Torvald DOES hit it, and flies up into the air. She does a full flip in the air before coming back down and slamming the ground, breaking both tie rods, and bending the front 2 wheels in. That thing isn't gonna steer anymore.

TORVALD BATTERBUTTER IS WRECKED

1 down, how many more to go? Unintentionally, Candlehead slams into the shell of Torvald, sending it further down the track. Torvald did bail out of the car thankfully and made her way off track. The hit causes damage to Candle, but she'll still race on for now.

However, Candle was in 7th at the time ANYWAYS, so it would hinder her a little bit, but not much. Back to the front, Vanellope's trying to get around Gloyd as best as she can, and she may be able to do just that. They're coming into the S's, and it will prove different for her hopefully. Gloyd dives to the inside, Vanellope to the outside of 8, aka the first half of the S.

This leads them to be opposites in 8A, the second half. Vanellope has the better line, and gets a great run off. Vanellope clears Gloyd! Now down into 9, down on the inside. Gloyd takes to the outside though, and therefore he will have the inside on 10! He out-brakes Vanellope as well and now is the leader, again.

These 2 fighting have brought a new competitor into it, Nougetsia. She reels them in down the short straight going into 11. The U turn, the best passing spot on this road course. Out-breaking someone is VITAL here. Gloyd can't get on the breaks enough, Vanellope to the inside, but Nougetsia gets the best out of the 3, and emerges with the lead!

Nougetsia now leads into 12, an easy turn that nothing really matters on. And she leads across the line. Halfway ALREADY. Only 1 powerup. Wait, what's that sound?

WHOA! 3RD PLACE VVS, Gets hit by... A SWEET SEEKER! That's why I thought I heard something familiar. She lands back down with a thud, and her kart falls apart all around her. Well, there goes any chance of a good run this week.

VANELLOPE VON SCHWEETZ IS WRECKED

Nougetsia and Gloyd are obviously pulling away from the now broken-hearted Vanellope. Sucks for her. Anyways, Nougetsia is doing anything and everything she can to block gloyd, and so far is being successful.

A little mid pack action, as the drivers competing for 7th, 8th, and 9th enter turn 2, Rancis, who is the one in 8th, gives a little shove to Citrusella. She goes off track, into the sand. That's not good. She HAS to get back on track soon, or else she's done. Because, if anyone remembers race 7 of last year, Sugar Beach, that stuff can build up in your engine.

She decides to wait until turn 3 and pulls back on, so there will definitely be some sand build up in her engine, but how much is the real question?

Back at the front, Gloyd's reeling in Nougetsia. They enter the short chute between 4A and 7A, with both taking the outside area of 4A to advantage. So Nougetsia is doing what she needs to, which is hold onto the lead. She drives hard into 7A, but applies the breaks perfectly, and takes the inside, curbhopping a little bit. That's actually GOOD when it comes to this track.

Nougetsia hits a powerup box as well. It's Syrup Stopper! She lays it down, Gloyd is trapped in it immediately!

Nougetsia starts to pull away now (obviously) and she has no issue! In through the S's, she hits cruising speed. No competition. She exits them, and now she's getting ready to go for the U-turn. STILL No Competition! She hits the breaks gently, and around the turn.

Out of the U'y, and down the short chute to 12, around it and... across the line! Nougetsia wins!

Around 10 seconds later 2nd place crosses the line, it's STILL Gloyd. Amazing! Nougetsia wins by over 10 seconds here at Sonoma!
