Ghost Whisperer
I own nothing
This is after the Series Finale
"Eli, its Emily. Do you have a minute?" Emily asked Eli over the phone.
"Shouldn't you be in school?" Eli asked.
"That's why I called." Emily said slowly. "I couldn't get out of Uncle Jim's truck when we pulled up to the school." Emily told Eli. "Uncle Jim didn't force me to go to school this morning."
"It sounds like you are suffering from Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, PTSD for short." Eli said.
"Uncle Jim and Principal Brown suggest that I take it slow going into the school by going to practice this afternoon." Emily said. "Will you come with me and help me through this, as my therapist?" Emily asked.
"Of course." Eli said. "Is that all?"
"I also saw Manny." Emily said. "Standing in the entrance way of the school." Eli was silent. He knew Jim didn't want them to deal with Manny's ghost. "I know it was him, I've learn the difference between a ghost and imagination."
"Does Jim know?" Eli asked.
"Yep." Emily said. "And he probably told Melinda."
"What was Manny doing?" Eli asked.
"Standing at the entrance." Emily stated. "Watching everyone walk in."
"Did he see you?" Eli asked.
"He looked at me before he disappeared, which was before I was shaken out of my thoughts." Emily paused.
"Emily, I know what you are thinking and you have to remember that this spirit is the ghost of the person who took you hostage."
"Yeah, I know and that's why I'm thinking that I don't want to cross this ghost over alone." Emily said. "I'm afraid to go near him."
"Good." Eli said. "I have to go. I'll come pick you up around 2:30, sound good."
"Yeah, see you then." Emily said, before hanging up the phone. Emily landing on her bed, her arms spread out. There was a knock at the door and Jim walked in. Emily sat up.
"What did you need to talk to Eli about?" Jim asked, sitting next to Emily on the bed.
"Eli is going to pick me up and take me to practice this afternoon." Emily said to Jim. "I just want Eli."
"Ok." Jim said. "I understand."
"It's because he can talk me through it." Emily said. "He's trained to do it and I feel like it will benefit me."
"And I agree." Jim said. "Melinda and I were talking and we talked about it. Eli will help you through this and won't push you if you don't want to." Jim wrapped Emily in a hug. "Plus, he will be there if the ghost shows up."
"I know not to cross the ghost over alone." Emily told Jim, moving away from the hug. "I told Eli this and I'm telling you. I'm afraid to go near him."
"Good, keep it that way." Jim said.
"I'll try." Emily said, giving Jim a small smile. Jim got to his feet.
"I've got to get ready for work." Jim said. "Are you going to be ok here by yourself, or would you rather I drop you off at Melinda's?"
"I should be fine here." Emily said. "Maybe I'll take a nap or something." Jim smiled.
"Alright." Jim said before walking out of the room. Emily grabbed her headphones, started playing You're Not Alone by Big Time Rush.
"You realize you don't have to do this." Eli said to Emily as they were standing near the entrance of Grandview high school.
"I know." Emily said, keeping her focus on the school. "But if I don't do this, then I will be afraid to go in the school forever." Emily looked at Eli. "I have to do this."
"Alright." Eli said. He put his hand to Emily's shoulder to give her support as they slowly walked towards the entrance. Emily could feel her heart pounding in her chest at the speed of light. "Just relax Emily. If you need to stop and take a moment, do so, but don't press yourself."
"I'm…fine." Emily said slowly.
"You're tense and on the verge of a panic attack." Eli said. "You are not fine."
"I will be once this is over." Emily said, walking towards the door.
"Emily." Emily heard her name, but it wasn't Eli. Andy hurried up beside her. Ned wasn't far behind him. Emily turned and looked at Andy. "We're here for support." Andy said with a smile. Emily found herself smile. Suddenly, a few more students were with her. Emily recognized them as her tennis team.
"And so are we." Said Stephanie Green, the senior captain of the tennis team.
"How did you know?" Emily asked Stephanie.
"Mr. Brown told Mrs. Rinehart and Mrs. Rinehart told us." Stephanie explained. "We need to head to practice, but we wanted you to know that we are behind you 100 percent." Emily smiled and her tennis team left.
"You ready to do this Emily?" Eli asked. Emily nodded, looking back at the entrance to the school. Emily made her way towards the doors with Eli. Ned and Andy were behind her. Emily closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She grabbed the door handle and pulled the door open and stepped in. Eli, Ned and Andy followed and stopped when Emily stood in the hall.
"Emily?" Andy asked. Emily stood there, not moving. Eli rested his hand on Emily.
"You're doing great." Eli said. "Relax and take your time."
"Manny." Emily whispered. Eli looked around.
"You can see me?" Manny asked.
"And I can hear you." Eli whispered to Manny. "If you except to hurt Emily in anyway, you'll have to deal with me."
"I don't want to hurt her." Manny said. "I want to apologize for what I did." Manny said. "And to say thank-you."
"Thank you?" Emily asked confused.
"You helped me." Manny told Emily.
"Helped you how?"
"I had two different sides of me." Manny explained. "The nice, and friendly, janitor and the evil man who took you as a hostage."
"Split personality disorder." Eli said.
"I lost control, but now I am free." Manny said. "Thank you." Manny smiled.
"Do you see a light?" Emily asked Manny.
"I do now." Manny said. "Thank you." Manny said again before disappearing into the light. Emily relaxed a little.
"He's gone." Emily said to Eli. "And think I'm ok now."
"Are you sure?"
"No, but it will get better." Emily turned and faced Andy and Ned. "I have plenty of people to help me through this." Andy walked up to Emily and gave her a hug. Emily returned the hug. Ned patted Emily's back.
"Shall we continue?" Eli asked. "There is one more place we need to go to before you are going to be fully comfortable."
"I know." Emily said. "But I think I'll tackle that one tomorrow." Emily smiled. "I think I want to play some tennis."
Eli, Delia and Melinda were talking in the kitchen while Emily sat upstairs checking through her emails. She started replying to all her emails and was pretty much caught up with replies. There was a knock at her door and Ned entered the door.
"Hey Ned, what's up?" Emily asked.
"I have something for you." Ned said with a suspicious smile. Emily looked at Ned confused.
"Should I be scared?" Ned laughed.
"No." Ned stated. Ned handed Emily his cellphone.
"Your cell phone?" Emily asked, even more confused than before.
"There's someone who wants to talk to you." Ned said, with an even bigger smile than before. Emily looked at the phone and put it too her ear.
"Hello?"
"Emily."
"Ryan!" Emily said, looking at Ned with a look that wondered how.
"Yeah." Ryan said over the phone. "Ned called and asked for me. He talked to me about some things and…well…" There was a pause. "I'm sorry I acted the way I did." Emily's smile grew. "I was just so mad at you that you hadn't called and then I heard the news and I'm sorry."
"I'm sorry too." Emily said. "I'm sorry that I didn't call before." Emily stated. "I've just been busy and I don't want to call at 9 o'clock at night when things settle down."
"I know." Ryan said. "And maybe when you call to read Faith a story, we can talk before you hang up."
"I like that idea." Emily said. "Even though we are hours away from each other, you're still my brother and I love you like crazy."
"And even though you're my bossy older sister, I love you too." Ryan said. "Grandma's calling about supper, so I better go wash up. I'll talk to you tonight?"
"Tonight sounds great." Emily said. "Bye." Emily hung up the phone after Ryan said goodbye and handed it back to Ned. "How…what?"
"I got you're old number from Jim. I told him what I was planning on doing and he was okay with it, so I called Ryan up and talked to him and that's pretty much it."
"Was it a long talk?" Emily asked.
"No." Ned said simply. "It was actually pretty simple." Ned stated. "He was mad at you, but then when heard the news, he was scared and upset that you hadn't called and when Faith had Mrs. Richards call, and you wanted to talk to him, he was still upset."
"And when you called?"
"He was starting to feel bad." Ned said. "He knew you just went through a traumatic time and being mad at you wasn't something he wanted." Emily gave Ned a hug.
"Thank you." Emily said. "You don't know how much that means to me."
"I think it do." Ned said with a smile. "Come on, I think supper's done and I don't know about you, but I'm starving."
This story comes after A New Chapter
And that is the next story is a Ghost Whisperer/Criminal Minds crossover called Troubled Minds. I'm not sure when I will upload it, but I will post here when I know.
Spring Semester has started. My schedule is most likely going to be the same as this past Semester (minus the late night classes and my Saturday class). Also, until the end of the month, I am temporary lead teacher at my work so I will be a little more busy.
