A/N: Oh god! Yesterday was a Monday and I forgot! It even felt like a Monday and I still forgot!
I could feel Stephen watching me as I scrolled through tweets with my mouth hanging open. I had always been pretty popular for a diva and considering I wasn't one of the big name wrestlers, but this was crazy. This storyline with Ste was huge. Everyone was talking about what a cute couple we made and how much they liked my last match.
"So Ah'll ask ya again, how does it feel to be a super star?" I looked up at Ste to see him smirking at me.
"Unreal, like literally unreal, I can't believe this." I looked back down at my phone once more before I set it on the table and let out a heavy breath. Stephen laughed a little before nodding.
"Ah know the feeling. Being a heel was great, but being a face is so different. The fans are so committed to ya, that it's hard to believe." I opened my mouth to reply, but was interrupted.
"Excuse me." We both turned and saw a dad holding a young boy's hand who was standing slightly behind his father's leg. "I really hate to bother you, but we're really big fans and the kids were begging for a picture."
Stephen smiled and moved his hands as he said it was perfectly alright before engaging the little boy in conversation. I was smiling politely when I felt tiny hands on both my legs. I looked under the table and saw a cute little girl with pigtails gripping my pants and smiling up at me. When she saw me looking at her she began bouncing up and down causing her to tug at my pants. I laughed at her as her father realized where she was.
"OH my god! I am so sorry!" He began reaching under the table to try and grab his daughter "Sweetie come on, you promised you'd be on your best behavior."
"She's fine. I have a nephew who's a lot grabbier." I reached under the table and grabbed the little girl under the arms maneuvering her out from under the table and onto my lap. "What's your name sweetheart?"
"Olivia and I'm t'ree and you're my mos' favorite wres'ler." She had some trouble pronouncing her words, but it was adorable. I smiled at her and pinched lightly at her sides. She squealed with laughter and wiggled in my lap.
"I'm really your favorite wrestler? That's too sweet!" She then began talking to me in earnest while stroking the hair that fell over my shoulder. I glanced to the side quickly in between nods and sounds of agreement to see her father looking tense and horrified.
"Ok Livy, let's take pictures so we can go back and eat." Olivia immediately clung to my neck and pushed her face against mine smiling towards her dad. I laughed and held her around the waist as I smiled for the camera. He took a few pictures before turning and taking a few of of Stephen holding the little boy. "Would you mind getting altogether for a picture?"
I smiled at him and stood carrying Olivia over to Ste's chair. I tried to rest her against my hip, but she continued to wiggle in my arms. Finally I let her down enough where she could rest her feet on Stephen's leg and she quickly gripped the shoulder of his shirt. Ste moved his arm up and around my waist pulling me close to his body before resting his hand on Olivia's side. I put my arm on the back of his chair smiling for the photo before the Dad started to thank us repeatedly, while pulling his children back to their table. I moved back to my side of the table, sitting down before I realized we had opened the floodgates.
Soon our table was crowded with people asking for pictures and autographs, and I had never felt so overwhelmed. The restaurant had been crowded, but it seemed like people were coming from everywhere. I tried to keep up with what people were saying to me as pieces of paper were shoved at me with pens. I didn't know how much time had passed before I heard Stephen speak up.
"Ah'm really sorry, but we came here to have dinner and I think we'll have to cut things off here. We'll try to make some time after eating, but it's been a long day." People seemed disappointed, but began to move away.
"Oh my god, we totally interrupted their date!" One girl exclaimed to her friend as they walked away. I tried to hold in my laugh, as everyone dispersed. Shortly after the waitress came up and took our order before we were left alone again. I let out a sigh and looked over at Stephen. He smiled at me before we both laughed.
"Is it always like that?" Stephen shook his head unrolling his napkin and setting out his silverware.
"No, Ah think that was a perfect storm. New storyline, and showing up during a show probably created a lot of excitement." Stephen looked up at me smiling. "Ah don't have a lot of experience with romantic storylines though so this could the new norm."
"Well I guess we'll find out together." I blushed, but smiled at Ste as our food arrived.
I was almost positive that they had put a rush on our order because it came out in record time. I picked up the sandwich and took a large bite groaning. It was delicious. After looking over the menu I couldn't resist the roast beef. It was a combination of steak, prime rib and london broil slow roasted and then shaved. It sounded just like something my dad would make. In between bites of sandwich I ate beer battered french fries, all while trying to remember to drink water. Suddenly I remembered that I was with Stephen and I quickly swallowed before looking up. I saw Stephen eating his chicken while smiling at me and I blushed trying to maintain some dignity.
"What?" I asked putting my sandwich down onto my plate to take a long drink of water.
"Nothing, it's just been a long time since Ah've seen a girl go at a sandwich like that." My jaw dropped.
"I was not going at it! I haven't eaten all day and this is really good." Stephen smiled at me.
"Ah meant it as the highest compliment, Ah promise." He pointed his fork at me my plate. "I wish Ah could eat like that and still look like ya."
"Don't bother wishing, you don't have the boobs to look like me ." I froze as Stephen burst out laughing. I hadn't meant to go to sarcastic, inappropriate Eva humor so quickly, but oh well, at least he's laughing.
"Yer not what Ah expected Ya to be at all." I looked confused, but smiled at him.
"What did you expect."
"Ah'm not really sure, but yer always so quiet backstage, Ah just thought ya wouldn't be so loud, Ah suppose."
"I've always been quiet, but I usually get more bold the longer I've know people."
I picked up my sandwich and started to eat again, as Stephen picked up his fork and followed my lead. We finished eating with minimal conversation until the check came. I reached down next to my chair for my wallet, when I realized that i had left my bag in the car. I closed my eyes and winced, I did not want to have to run out to the car.
"Hey, I hate to ask this, but could you please cover me and I'll get you cash once we get to the car?" Stephen was already signing the receipt, that was fast.
"Sure thing." Ste looked up and smiled at my confusion. He stood up and pushed his chair in before motioning to the door. "Come on, let's get going."
I stood up and followed him to the door and out to the car. Stephen put his hand on my back and urged me out to the car and I had to do a quick step to keep up with him. He unlocked the doors and we both got in quickly. Once we were inside, he sighed and relaxed, before turning to look at me.
"Lesson one about making it big. Always sneak out right after eating, otherwise you may never get away."
I laughed before getting on my knees and reaching over the seat to get into my bag. I dug around until I found my wallet and pulled it out. I looked over my shoulder to ask Stephen how much I owed him , but paused when I looked at his face. He was staring directly at my butt as I was leaning over the seat. I smirked before arching my back and reaching over to touch the floor of the car before flopping back into my seat.
"So much do I owe you?" I looked at Stephen innocently. He blushed and shook his head before looking at me.
"Huh?"
