Chapter 9 = Under Obedience

Kate was relaxing in her grandfather's lair when suddenly, a vision caught her eye. She could see her parents, Detective Rose, and Doctor Gray heading downstairs. "What are you doing, Kate?" her grandfather asked. Kate turned around frightened of Franklin's voice. "You are not supposed to be looking in the window here." Franklin then checked the hourglass. Kate didn't know she was going to have an obedience spell put on her. Before Kate came down, Franklin put a potion in her tea, and just so happened that Kate drank her tea.

"Time's ticking, my darling," said Franklin.

"What's wrong Grandfather?" asked Kate. Franklin then smirked when the last drop of sand fell through the hourglass. Kate then noticed a bright light shine around her. The spell was working! She then fell to the floor and passed out.

Franklin chuckled evilly. "I can't believe you fell for that, Kate. You are now under my command. Now stand up!" Kate did what he said. She then brushed off the dust on her dress. Just then, Kate's eyes turned bright green.

"Grandfather, we have intruders," said Kate. They both ran to the window and saw the other four kids sitting down on the grass in their cage.

"We must destroy all evidence! I will seek out for other intruders while you go take care of them…" said her grandfather. Kate then turned around heading straight for the four kids.

Back in the jungle, while Eugene, Ellen, and Lawrence were sleeping, Sheryl decided to take things in her own matters and tried to break out of the trap. Ellen then woke up and saw Sheryl's face. Sheryl was covered in dirt and her dress was tattered to shreds. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! It's an ugly monster! I need vodka!" screamed Ellen.

"Will you shut up!" cried Eugene. He then took Ellen who was still screaming, sat her down, and slapped her on the face. "I had to stop her from screaming…" he said just like his father.

"Sheryl, your dress is ruined and your hair looks like you've been dead for ten years… why?" asked Ellen.

"I'm trying to get us out of this stupid mess! And why don't you mock someone else instead," said Sheryl. She then pointed at Lawrence with a bug on his nose. "Look at handsome Lawrence. He has a bug on his nose. Why don't you mock him?"

"Why aren't you mocking him?" asked Ellen.

"Because, I have a secret crush on him, and you probably know that." Just then, the three kids turned around to find Eugene with the trap opened.

"Eugene, you're like God! How'd you do that?" asked Lawrence. Eugene then took out his Swiss army knife. "It helps when you have a Swiss army knife in your pocket. By the way, this trap is made of rope. Now let's get out of here!" shouted Eugene. The other three agreed and followed him. Just then, they ran into Kate who was standing by the cave entrance to Franklin's lair.

"Yay! We found Kate!" shouted Ellen. Sheryl, Eugene, and Lawrence weren't happy about this.

"We didn't find Kate, Ellen. Kate found us," said Eugene.

"How do you know?"

"Because she has a revolver in her hand! Let's get out of here!" said Lawrence. Everyone ran off except for Ellen. She was hugging Kate. Sheryl then turned around and took Ellen away.

"Grandfather, they got away. What shall I do?" asked Kate. Franklin's voice followed her. "Get them! They're witnesses!" he said in her mind. Kate then followed his orders and ran after them.

Just as the foursome reached the portal upstairs, Kate was at Ellen's tail and grabbed her leg pulling her down. "HELP!" cried Ellen. The other three then made a chain and tried to pull Ellen out, but Kate's force was much stronger. Just then, a fourth person helped the other three pull Ellen out. Kate then fell down and Ellen was saved.

"Thank you, nice lady," said Ellen running to Detective Rose and hugging her.

"We're happy to help," said Doctor Gray. Just then, the adults ran to the room and found their children. Wadsworth and Mrs. White then looked around. "Where's Kate?" asked Mrs. White.

"Well, let's just say she turned evil," said Eugene.

"What do you mean?" asked Wadsworth.

"She tried to kill us with a revolver! I think she's up to something," said Lawrence.

"She was pulling me down!" cried Ellen.

"Well, like I said, we need to find Kate," said Detective Rose. Following her advice, everyone started searching around the house.
