A/N. Wuh-Bam. Chapter 9... I'm thinking about changing the title in awhile. Anyone have ideas? I will take them into consideration, and have an announcement in the chapter's A/N. whenever I decide to change it, just as a warning that it won't be the same title... And I'm rambling...

"Night." Tessa closed her eyes, feeling sleep swallow her up, quickly falling into it's peace.

The next morning, Tessa woke up, feeling another rush of nausea. It happened the morning before, and maybe a few times a while ago, but she always dismissed it as nothing. But this morning, it felt worse.

She hopped out of bed, not caring much that she woke Will up, and went over to the adjoined restroom, and getting sick.

Will came behind her, seeing her leaning over the toilet, throwing up. He came behind her, holding her hair out of her face, and rubbing circles on her back. "Tess, are you alright?" stupid question, that was a really stupid question...

Tessa shook her head, straightening herself out, and standing up. "No."

Will pulled her into his chest, holding her, stroking her back as she cried. It seemed odd that she was crying right now, but chances are, she really was feeling unwell.

"What's wrong with me?" she asked herself, pulling away.

"We could take you to the Brothers... There's nothing they can't figure out. But, then, no one knew what you were..." he mumbled the last part to himself, thinking it wasn't the best thing to say right now.

"Don't take me there, not yet. I need another day." She said, going over to the sink, rinsing her mouth and cleaning herself up.

"Tessa, I don't want you to get worse. Promise me, if nothing's gotten better by the end of the day, you will consider letting them check you." Will pleaded.

Tessa sighed, "I will, only if things get worse. If I'm the same, I will not."

"Deal." he said, brushing her hair away from her face. "What do you say we do today? I wouldn't suggest we do much, but we can still find something."

"Can we eat?" she asked, feeling hungry.

"After what just happened? Are you sure you want to eat something right away?"

"After what just happened, I have nothing in my stomach... I need something." she pointed out. Will nodded, she's right... women are always right...

"Get changed first, then we'll go." he said, as the went back into his room, grabbing himself a shirt and pair of slacks.

They dressed, and were out the door rather quickly. When they got down to the dining room, everyone appeared to be starting to gather down for breakfast. Food was being put out, and seats were being taken. When Will and Tessa walked in, many eyes turned to face them... Which wasn't odd for Tessa, but was for Will.

"Good morning." said Charlotte, smiling warmly at the pair.

Tessa smiled back as she and Will sat down, side-by-side.

Will glanced across the table, seeing Cecily and Gabriel sitting close together, too close...

"Alright, first thing I want to address, we have a hunt today. Demons in Hyde, again." Charlotte stated, looking to Will. "I was thinking Will should have a chance to go along with the Lightwoods. It's been awhile, and you must be missing it, at least a small bit." she said.

She was right, back to his previous statement, women are always right... He did miss it. But, he didn't want to leave Tessa. She was sick, and leaving her here alone wasn't something he wanted to do.

Tessa looked at Will, and saw the conflicted look in his eyes; she leaned over, "Will, go. I'll be fine. I have all the girls here, I promise you, I will be alright. Go, you haven't been out in awhile." she whispered.

Will nodded. "I'll go. Be sure to take care of yourself." he said with a tone of wariness.

Tessa nodded. "I will. Like I said, I have the girls. However, they will most likely be all over me with wedding plans, therefore preventing me from doing much other that sitting down, doing nothing all day."

Will nodded, their side conversation interrupted by Gideon asking Will if he was coming along, to which Will nodded. "When are we leaving."

Gabriel looked down at his watch, "I'd say twenty minutes." he said.

Everyone finished eating, but the boys left early, they went to collect their weapons and get into their gear. Just as Tessa was walking out, she saw Will standing outside of the weapons room. He looked up and they walked over to each other. "Promise me you will be safe." she said, her hand idly going to push his hair away from his face.

Will smiled, stopping her hand on his cheek, putting his over hers. "I will. Aren't I always?" he said, a slight grin creeping onto his face.

Tessa rolled her eyes playfully at him. "You're never safe." she said.

"I never had anything to come back to. Now I do." he said, kissing her cheek. Will turned back, looking behind him and seeing Gabriel standing about five meters away, in the entrance of the weapons room. "I should be going now." Will said, his hand dropping to his side, and Tessa's returning to her side.

"I'll see you soon." she said, offering him a smile as he turned to join the Lightwoods.

"That you will." he said, glancing back at her before catching up with the boys.

Tessa sighed, it was early still, and she was hoping they would return by late afternoon, early evening. In the mean time, she needed to find something to do.

She wandered the halls, considering going to the library, then deciding against it and going to her room. She was still in the dress she wore yesterday, a fresh dress would do much better.

She arrived at her door, and went inside, seeing something laying on her bed that wasn't there yesterday. It was a piece of paper, sitting on top of an empty box.

'Meet in the drawing room at half past noon.'

Tessa read the note, several times. Who was this even from? she asked herself, studying the careful hand writing. She knew it wasn't Will's, or anyone's that she could recognize. There was no explanation for the random box either. Tessa looked around, checking the clock. It was only a quarter until eleven. Tessa had much time left. There wasn't much she really needed to do, so she went over to her night table and picked up 'Great Expectations' and resumed where she had left off.

Several chapters later, she gave up reading. She was having a hard time concentrating on what she was reading, feeling fatigued and nauseous, still for unknown reasons. Putting the book down, Tessa rolled off of her bed, where she had decided to lay down while she read, and went over to her wardrobe. She looked around at her dresses, studying each one carefully. One looked to fancy for a casual day of nothing, the other, looking too casual, another too elegant, and finally a simple tea gown.

She pulled it out, removing her current dress, replacing it with the new, clean one. Tessa glanced at the clock, seeing it was eleven fifty-three. Always so much time when you never need it, and never enough when you do... she thought, letting out a sigh. She walked back over to her bed, picking up her book again, trying to keep her focus, and managing to actually keep it for awhile.

Before she even realized it, Tessa noticed it was five minutes until she was supposed to be in the drawing room. With a sigh, she heaved herself off of the bed, and walked out of her room, making her way down the hallways.

It wasn't a shock to see Cecily and Sophie in the room sitting and chatting. Upon noticing Tessa's presence, Cecily got up and offered Tessa her seat next to Sophie, whom smiled at her. Tessa sat on the sofa, and Cecily, on the floor infront of them.

"Did I miss anything yesterday?" Tessa asked.

Cecily laughed and shook her head looking at the floor. "I only had to take care of a very hung-over Gabriel... I must say, not the most fun I've ever had..." she admitted, shaking her head again.

Tessa laughed lightly and turned to Sophie, "and you? Did you do anything?"

"No, Miss- I mean Tessa." she stuttered, then corrected herself, "no, Tessa, nothing really happened." Sophie said, rather quickly too.

"Sophie, you never dismiss anything that quickly. What was going on yesterday?" Tessa asked, again.

"Well, in the morning we were all really worried that you weren't in the drawing room for our meetings, even though nothing important ever happens in them, but we were still worried nevertheless." she rambled, looking to the ground.

"Sophie, I can see it in your face, you're hiding something." Tessa accused.

"Soph, you can tell her. It doesn't matter." Cecily interjected.

Sophie looked down to the young girl, "are you sure? It was rather awkward." said Sophie.

"Just tell her. It would have happened anyways, besides, it was not really a big problem." Cecily said, "I think..." she added.

Tessa coughed, indicating her presence, "I'm still in this room. Can someone tell me what happened?" she demanded, her voice coated in annoyance.

"I may have came in to your room early yesterday, and invaded your personal space." Sophie admitted.

Tessa looked at her, a bit annoyed that she popped into her room, but confused as to why she made it sound like she did something horrible. "Sophie, you didn't invade my space, I have a feeling you came in for good reasons. As long as you didn't take anything from me, I see no reason why this was a problem." Tessa said.

"I just wanted to make sure you were still doing alright. You know, with what's happened, and whatnot. Thank you for your forgiveness." she said back.

Cecily shook her head. "I will never understand you two." she said. "Sophie makes a big deal about something, and Tessa brushes it off as nothing..." she muttered under her breath.

Tessa looked around the room, an awkward silence had fallen over the trio. "Where's Charlotte?" asked Tessa, noticing she was absent form the room.

"She went to rest. She told me she was tired and stressed, and doesn't want to overwork herself because stress is bad for her baby." Sophie answered. "You know, the baby is due in two months." she casually mentioned.

Cecily nodded, "I just love babies. I want one..." she said dreamily.

"Make sure you don't ever say that infront of Will." Tessa joked.

The girls laughed, and Cecily seemed to blush a bit. "I know, I am young. I will wait until I'm older." she muttered.

Tessa sighed, glancing at the floor, next to where Cecily was. Noticing a flat patch in the carpet, presumably where Cecily had been resting her hand earlier.

She was snapped out of her thoughts by Cecily talking once more. "So, Tessa, you must be wondering why we wanted you to meet us here?" she asked.

Tessa nodded, "it has crossed my mind." she said, "and why was the small note on a large box?" she added.

"I put the box there so you would see the note." she replied. "Back to what I was saying, we wanted you to meet up with us so we could have some bonding time, some girl time with just us." she said, smiling.

Tessa returned the smile. It would be nice, just having a girls' day, being girls, and being themselves.

When Will set out with Gideon and Gabriel, he never expected that they would be so careful with their precise movements, waiting around. He had enough of sitting around spying for anything unusual. "I am fairly certain if we had actually looked for the demons, we could be back at the institute by now." he said, throwing his arms up in the air, dramatically.

Gabriel rolled his eyes at him, "I thought you liked demon hunting. What's the rush to get back? We have all day, and there's supposedly three demons, one for each of us. If you want to go find them, alone, and be murdered, be my guest." grumbled Gabriel.

"What if the three of us went and found them? We could get to them before anyone gets attacked, save a mundane or two." Will suggested.

"No. We don't want to draw attention to ourselves by running-"

"Stop talking, and look over there." interrupted Gideon, his voice harsh. Will and Gabriel turned their heads, an unusually odd shadow cast in the tree lines.
