A/N: HOLY HELL ITS ALIVE! I apologize for the absence, I had some life stuff going on, as well as that I was trying to figure out what I could do to make this story better. On another note, I'll be updating RCToRR next, so keep an eye out for that. Now... on to the two reviews that we had last chapter.

Guest: I have to agree with you there.

AnonymousAK: I appreciate the encouragement my friend.

And with that. ON TO THE STORY!

I need a Witness to my life

It wasn't this way all the time

{Abby's POV}

It happened again. That strange dream.

I was back in the cell with the others, the smell of decaying flesh and rotting tissue making me gag. I was scared. All the training that had come back to me once I regained my memory hadn't done me any good. And that guy, he looked almost exactly like Kurai. My hands were chained to the wall above my head, as was everyone else's'.

I feel so helpless, I thought, looking around the room as footsteps began to echo through the halls.

"They should be here somewhere," a voice said, a voice we all knew too well. Moka's head picked up at his voice, as did Kurumu and Mizore's. It wasn't until a second voice spoke that Kiria lifted her own head.

"I can sense them, they're close by,"

That's when the explosions came.

I woke with a start, my legs tangled in my bed sheets as I jolted to a sitting position. My hand slowly moving back to smooth out my hair as I glanced at the clock: 11:58 p.m. Why does that exact set of numbers feel so eerily familiar? I wondered, laying back down onto my pillow. It was almost Christmas. The snow gently sprinkling the landscape outside my window. My thoughts returning to my dream after a little while, it had changed yet again. The first time it was just me and Kurumu, and neither of us were in chains, the second time I was able to locate a few of the others, but that was it. This time it had changed dramatically, I could smell the place no less. I could feel the cuffs tying me to the chains around my wrists, almost as if they were actually there. I could pick put a name to my feelings far easier than I had been able to before.

And it scared me.

{Kay's POV}

Ah yes, the Yokai Academy courtyard. In the middle of winter no less. Funny how this place seemed to have a seasonal cycle similar to that of the western hemisphere, despite that last time I checked the Academy itself was just a little ways outside of Tokyo.

Slipping my hands into the pockets of my jeans I walked, the snow sticking to my skin as I did so, refusing to melt due to my powers. A few minutes later I saw another figure, this one near the fountain that had recently been added to this section of the campus. Upon a quick check of her aura, I realized that the figure in front of me was none other than Clair. Walking up to the rather busty girl I gazed at the fountain for a bit before breaking the silence.

"Hard to believe this much time has passed, eh?"

"Huh?" She said, her crimson eyes refocusing as she brought herself back down to earth, "Oh, yea I guess so."

"What is it you were thinking about?"

"Oh, its nothing really."

"Clair, if there is one thing I've learned, its that when people say something like that, they've been thinking about something important," I said, brushing the snow out of my hair with my right hand, silently noting that the nail of the index finger was slightly chipped.

She let out a sigh, realizing that I had her trapped. A little bit of time went by before she finally spoke.

"My… parent… is planning a visit."

"Is that so?"

She nodded. It had been one of the first things I had found out about her, that she was the daughter of Asmodeous. "Only problem being that I don't know what sort of effects it'll have on the others."

"I can see that, this is Asmodeous we are talking about here."

"Yea, only problem is that its sure to bring 'gifts'. And not of the kid-friendly kind either."

"Considering Asmodeous is the Kishin representing lust? Honestly doesn't surprise me, however I can understand your concern."

We talked like that for a while, her explaining her fears about her parent coming to visit, me calmly listening, and giving my opinion when I felt it was necessary. We talked till the sun started to peek out over the horizon, and by that time my head was almost completely covered in snow. After going our separate ways, I ran into yet another friendly face.

"Hey, Kurumu." I said, walking up to the succubus. I had wandered over to one of the many cliffs around the Academy, and judging by the holes in the ground, I assumed this was one of the areas they had gotten into a fight.

"Oh. Hey, Kay." She said, turning towards me as she spoke, "Didn't expect to see you here."

"I didn't expect to find myself here either, but here I am."

She smiled slightly at that, her gaze returning to the water briefly before coming back to Kay, who was sitting on the edge of the cliff, his legs dangling in the open air below him.

"You ever wonder… if what we're doing is right?" She asked hesitantly. "I mean, most of us have in some way been hurt by humans. It makes me wonder why we even bother."

"You already know the answer to that Kurumu. We do this so that we can be better people then they are. We do this so that we can have a chance at living peacefully with them."

She nodded once, "Thanks."

"Whenever you need me," I said, turning around before walking away.

"Kay?"

"Hmm?"

"You may want to keep an eye on Abby, I think something's bothering her." Kurumu said, the faint 'snap' of a phone being closed echoing in the quite dawn.

"I will, you take care of yourself as well. Abby probably needs you more than you think." I said, looking over my shoulder at Kurumu as I spoke. Over in the distance, a wave of black briefly flickered in the sky before disappearing, so fast that you would've only seen it if you were paying close attention.

"And so destiny lays before me," I muttered, silently cursing the old man for warning me of this before hand. Had to admit though, knowing that this Deveen guy looked like the 'Son of Envy' helped a lot. A real lot. Now if I only knew who the hell the Son of Envy was, I would know what Deveen looked like.

Sighing, I walked back to the Academy, hoping to get a tad bit of sleep in before classes began.

{Third Person POV}

"Surprise!" Clair shouted, a small, orange haired girl besides her.

"Kokoa?" Abby said, stunned at the news her ears had just heard. Clair… and Kokoa, She thought, No. This isn't happening. It cant be happening. My mind cant wrap around this. Actually, shouldn't it be illegal cause- oh wait. Technically Clair and I aren't related. Meaning that Clair and Kokoa aren't related. Thus meaning that their relationship is completely valid.

It was after a few seconds of quiet following Abby's last word, that her head hit the cafeteria table with quite a loud 'thud'. She was unresponsive, and it was confirmed by the nurse that she was indeed, in shock.

A/N: Wanted to try something a bit different with this one. Also figured it was the perfect chapter to toss Kokoa into the mix (you didn't think I'd forget about her did you?). I appreciate the reviews, even if they aren't complete praise (just no flames, flames will be removed). And now that that's over: I'll cya guys in the next chapter!
