Rin sat and stared at her laptop, not knowing exactly what to do. She had texted her manager that she was taking a sick day. Of course the real reason was because she couldn't recover from the shock that her dream last night was anything but. And now, as she was looking at her emails, she was in even more shock. She was staring at a very simple and formal email from Sesshoumaru:

Ms. Sayori,

I am contacting you to inform you of the dinner my family is having on Friday at 6pm. Attached is a map with clear directions to our house along with the address if you have a GPS. Please do not feel obligated to come, this was an impulse on my Father's part.

Best Regards,

Sesshoumaru Taisho

Again, Rin asked herself what she would do. It didn't take a genius to figure out that Sesshoumaru had cleaned up the shattered glass and torn fabric so that she wouldn't think that he was actually there...but she knows he was. How in the world would she act once she was in his presence? Like absolutely nothing happened? Rin shut off her lap top and plopped onto her bed, jamming her face into the pillow. She felt like crying. She knew nothing about this man, but yet every time he gazed at her with those she felt totally helpless...she somehow knew that he would not hurt her...like she knew him all her life and then some.

And there was what happened last night. She never knew that such pleasure could exist and he was the first man to show her...but then there is also the fact that he had made an effort to cover it up. That told her that he had not meant for such a thing to happen. That no matter Rin's heart ached for him, he didn't want her and he was in a world that she would never understand...so with that being said...why in the world would she go to that dinner?

Rin felt the tears streaming out of her eyes and make a soggy spot in the pillow. Why did this happen to her? Here she was having an ordinary life. She had a great job, and a place she called her own where she could be silent without worry. But yet she was willing to try to break her silence for Sesshoumaru. She dreamed about him. She always wanted to see him...but wait...wouldn't Sesshoumaru's actions also mean that he wanted her too? Rin popped up from her pillow as the light bulb came on. He was here last night, there was no denying that. He had almost taken a bite out of her on two occasions because he had lost control for some reason she still didn't understand...

Rin but her lip in thought...did Sesshoumaru want her? She turned over all their encounters in her head several times. There...there had to be something. Why in the world would a mighty dog demon who had the power to smite all humans and have all demonesses at his feet lose control over a simple human girl? One that could barely speak for that matter! Rin's lip was beginning to hurt so she started biting at her thumbnail. It was clear that Sesshoumaru wanted her in some...sexual way, but he was obviously denying it...

Ok so what? What was she gonna do about it? Rin sighed and pulled her lack of a nail from her mouth. Rin highly doubted that there would be anymore communication between her and the demon after the dinner. She would be lucky to see him on the streets. Rin was almost 100% sure that this would be the last time she had direct contact with the dog demon and his life. She felt her heart sink once again.

Rin decided that she was going to accept the invitation. Not out of courtesy, but because she was feeling like a mix of selfish and stupid, because some way, somehow, she knew that her very being had chosen Sesshoumaru. She felt in her blood. And she was not going to quit until...

Rin sighed. Until there was truly no point anymore. Rin went back to her computer and emailed the dog demon back with a pounding heart.
