It was getting late, and Scarlett and Oscar still hadn't returned from their rendezvous. It was about 8pm and the two of them were just now hoping the fence to get back onto school grounds. Scarlett was laughing almost uncontrollably as Oscar hushed her to be quiet. "That had to have been the best day ever," she admitted. "And that's not usually something I would say." Oscar chuckled, stuffing his hands in his pockets as they proceeded to make their way back to Anubis.

"Well I'm glad you had fun. I had a good time too." The two of them looked at each other and smiled, looking away and out front of them. They didn't get to far before bumping into...

"Granddad?" Scarlett said with a voice of complete shock. Her eyes went wide as her grandfather, the headmaster of the school, stood before them. He didn't look the least bit happy either.

"Both of you, in my office. Now." The two of them knew they had been caught, but what exactly did Mr. Sweet know? Did he know the whole story, or did he happen to read only that chapter? Scarlett prayed for the latter. As the two of them made their way to Sweetie's office, he followed behind. Scarlett, thinking quickly, moved closer to Oscar slowly so it would seem like a natural movement, and not like she was trying to hide something, even tho she was. Her hand reached into her pocket and got her phone. She nudged Oscar gently and gestured to her phone, hoping that he would be able to tell her where to move her thumb to send a text. She pointed to the text icon through her sweatshirt pocket.

Oscar nodded ever so slightly. Scarlett clicked it so that her contacts and conversations came up. "Gee Mr. Sweet, its a lovely night down here, huh? I would love to spend a night out here," he said, exaggerating the down and to, hinting at Scarlett to hit the contact two down.

"Enough talking, I want silence," Mr. Sweet insisted. Scarlett, luckily, was very good at texting, and could do it with her eyes closed, which was coming in handy right about now. She nudged Oscar one more time to check the text, and in response, he faked a sneeze as an excuse to nod. "Oh, bless you."

"Thanks." Scarlett sent the text and took her hand out of her pocket. Hopefully he would get it.

Back at the house, Eddie was laying on the couch, waiting for James and Sophia to finish the dishes because it was their turn to do chores. His phone vibrated inside his pocket. Taking it out and reading quickly, he cursed under his breath and ran out the door as fast as possible, practically sprinting to Mr. Sweet's office. Scarlett, Oscar, and Mr. Sweet himself were already all there.

"I can't believe you two! Running off campus! And for how long? What were you thinking? I'll tell you what; you weren't thinking! I don't believe this. This is a school! We can't have students running off campus and skipping classes!" Just then, the door opened, and Eddie popped in.

"Granddad, er, Mr. Sweet, they weren't skipping class. They were in class today. The only reason they were outside this late is because I took them there. I left before them though, because James and I needed to finish a project. That's why we went there originally; I needed stuff for my project. They only came with me so I wouldn't be going alone. It's my fault." Mr. Sweet crossed his arms, looking at his grandson for a few moments.

"Alright, I believe you. But it better not happen anymore. I can't be giving you two special privileges. You two should be more like Melody and Ben; they could teach you both a thing or two. Run along. After all, you do have a project to finish." The three of them nodded, leaving the office and rushing back to Anubis.

"Thanks so much, Eddie," Scarlett told him when they got back.

"Don't thank me yet. I'm not going to keep covering for you, Scarlett. I'm starting to take the heat for it, and you need to be more responsible. I know you skipped class. Next time come back, instead of having a fantasy night." Eddie left the two of them and headed to his room. Oscar sighed, looking at Scarlett.

"He's right, Scarlett. We have to be more careful. I'll see you tomorrow, okay?" Scarlett nodded, waving bye as he left. She ran upstairs and collapsed onto her bed, soon to be jumped on by Sophia.

"Hey!" she said, giggling excitedly. "You missed it!" Scarlett sat up, laughing under her breath.

"Missed what?" she asked curiously. Whatever it was, Sophia seemed overly enthusiastic about it.

"The announcement for the first school dance! Its this weekend!" Scarlett rolled her eyes playfully. "Oh come on, don't be like that. It's exciting! We have to go dress shopping!" Scarlett made a pouty face and looked at her friend.

"Do we have to? I'm not the dress wearing or dance going type." Sophia hit her playfully on the arm.

"Oh come on! Of course you are. Come on, all the girls are planning on going tomorrow after school. Please, pretty please?" Sophia had to beg the girl in order to get a response she wanted to hear.

"Okay, okay, I guess I'll go too. But nothing too girly." Sophia squealed in excitement, clapping her hands frantically and throwing her arms around Scarlett in a hug.

"Yay! Oh my gosh it's going to be so fun! Do you think James will ask me to go with him?" Scarlett sat up after Sophia practically knocking her over, laughing from her best friend's excitement.

"James? Not to doubt your love fantasies, but I don't think so, only because James is so oblivious to the obvious that unless you told him you like him, he'll never know. And even then, he probably wouldn't pick up on it." Sophia faked a laugh that turned into more of a sigh.

"Well I don't want to ask him. That'd be way too embarrassing if he said no. Plus, the guy is supposed to do it." Just then, Eddie came back into the room for a brief second.

"Sorry, hope I'm not interrupting, but Scarlett, Ben says hello, by the way. He told me to tell you." Scarlett got up off her bed, confused.

"When did you talk to Ben? You guys like hate each other." Eddie rolled his eyes.

"Apparently he and Melody go to school here now." Before Scarlett could comment, Chloe poked her head in as well.

"Woohoo, sorry girls, hope we're still on for tomorrow night!" she said with a bright smile. "Anywho, Eddie. We're going to the dance together. Come talk outfits." Chloe took the very confused dirty blonde by the arm and dragged him away.

"Oh..kay?" he answered, disappearing. Scarlett rose a brow, crossing her hands over her chest. Sophia just looked shocked.

"The guy's supposed to do it, huh?" Scarlett mocked her, teasingly. "Maybe you should take some tips from Chloe."

"Why doesn't he just say no?" Scarlett shrugged.

"He's too nice. Plus, I think a part of him doesn't want to." A small smirk played on her lips as she said this, realizing her brother could be more of a softie than she thought. "Anyways, it's getting late. Night, Sophia." Scarlett crawled back into bed, getting comfy. Sophia did the same, and proceeded to turn the lights off.

"Night Scarlett." As darkness emerged, the two girls fell into a peaceful sleep.

In the living room the next day, Alfina and Lily were talking dresses. All of the Anubis girls were going dress shopping today for the dance that was this weekend. Lily was going with Isaac, as it was obvious that they were a thing. Although, they didn't have a specific label, and they haven't kissed. They've hugged, held hands, went on multiple dates; but as far as being a couple, that aspect was murky. "So are you and Isaac like, dating, or what?" Alfina asked her. Lily blushed.

"I don't know... maybe?" she replied, unsure of herself. Alfina gave her a look. "Okay, well we've gone out on dates, but we never really said whether we were in a relationship." Alfina scooted closer to the girl.

"Well, whatever you do, don't ask him. If he wants you to be his girlfriend, he'll ask you, and it's obvious he likes you, so no worries. He did ask you to the dance, right?" Lily nodded through a small smile. "Well then thats a step in progress! Now we just have to get you a fabulous dress, which I'm sure Chloe will want to be a part of for the decision making process." Both girls laughed, bright smiles on their faces.

"What about you then? Are you going with anyone?" Alfina sighed, a guilty smirk playing on her lips.

"Well... I was going to ask Tree if he wanted to go with me, but I haven't asked yet." Lily perked up.

"Alfina! You have to do it! Oh, that would be so cute! And I'm sure he'd say yes. Go ask him, now!" Alfina nervously got up after a minute to go find him, but ended up bumping into him in the process.

"Oh, hey," he said. Alfina smiled.

"I was just..."

"Looking for you," Tree finished for her. She laughed.

"Me too! So..."

"Do you wanna..."

"Go to the dance with me?" she finished for him this time. Both of them chuckled nervously, saying "yes" simultaneously. She excitedly hugged him and kissed him on the cheek, running back to Lily. Tree's face turned red. He watched Alfina run off before heading back to his room. Lily looked anxious to know what happened.

"Well? What did he say?" Alfina sat down calmly, took a deep breath, and closed her eyes.

"He said yes!" she suddenly exploded. Both girls joined each other in a freak out that lasted a few minutes before getting up.

"Okay, now let's get the girls. I can hardly wait to go shopping," Lily confessed. Together they ran off and found their friends, who were just as eager to go. It took about fifteen minutes for them to get out the door, but they were ready.

"Oh, I hope you guys don't mind my cousin coming with us," Scarlett proposed. "This is Melody." The brunette smiled and waved hello.

"That's totally fine!" Chloe piped up. "The more the merrier, as they say. Now come on girls, the stores await." The mob of girls headed out to their destination and where there in no time. The store was huge; it had everything a girl could want. The dresses in the windows were fabulous, but the ones in the store were even better. Not all of them, but most. Some of them even came from Chloe's mother's fashion line, Simply Millington. Amber had designed her own wedding dress that she wore when she got married. Chloe adored her mum's designs, and naturally was drawn to them in the store. The girls all gasped in awe at the plethora of dresses in the building.

"Take it all in, girls. Welcome to my world." Chloe smiled as her fingers ran over countless amounts of hangers on the hundreds of racks that must have been there. Unlike most of the girls, Chloe had an essential idea of what kind of dress she wanted. Now her only missions were to find it, and in the right color. Alfina immediately went for the more abstract pattern dresses, while Lily, Sophia and Melody all had similar tastes; pretty, but subtle. As for Scarlett, she was alone, cluelessly wandering around the store, weaving in and out of the racks. Dress shopping was nothing she was familiar with. Heck, she hadn't worn a dress in years.

Scarlett wouldn't even know her own dress size, let alone what kind of dress she wanted or the color. Sophia spotted her and scurried over. "See anything you like?" Sophia asked her. Scarlett shrugged. The brunette waited to see if there would be an additional response, but when none was given, she spoke again. "Well, do you know your dress size?" Again, she shrugged, shaking her head. Melody popped on over into the conversation.

"Well, Scarlett and I have the same body figure, and I'm a size 6, so if I had to guess hers, I'd say a six. What do you say, Scarlett? Let us help you pick a dress?" Melody and Sophia used pouty faces to persuade the red-haired girl into agreeing.

"Alright..." she replied. The two girls giggled excitedly and took her hands, whisking her away to browse. Melody had eventually pulled her aside for a private talk.

"So... Who are you going to the dance with?" she asked curiously, wriggling her eyebrows. Scarlett rolled her eyes, trying not to blush.

"No one, Melody." The brown haired girl slapped the rack.

"I don't believe that for a second." Her voice got much quieter. "I know you ditched school with a boy. You don't have to say who it is, because I already know, but I think you should try and impress him. You never know, he could ask you to the dance tonight." It would be amazing if it happened, but Scarlett wasn't very hopeful. "What about this one?" Melody asked, holding up a pretty pink dress. Scarlett shot it down.

"I don't do pink." With a frown, Melody picked out a navy blue one, holding it up. "It's nice, but not exactly my style." These were her answers to most of the suggestions. That was, until Chloe came rushing over with the perfect dress. It was a brilliant sleeveless number, the most beautiful shade of red that matched her hair. It had the sweetheart neckline and jewels around the neckline and down the center of the dress until it reached the part that covered her rib cage, where the fabric was cinched. The rest of it fell like a modern day ball gown would, ruffling at the bottom. Holding it up to her, it came down below her knees, which was one thing Scarlett knew she wanted.

"This one," Chloe said with a smile. She herself was holding several dresses, all much fancier. Scarlett had to admit, the dress was beautiful.

"I do like it, a lot..." she started. "But only if I can wear my fishnets with it." Chloe thought for a second.

"Deal. But you have to let me give you matching heels."

"Nothing over two inches," Scarlett warned. A sly smirk played on Chloe's lips.

"Well played, Scarlett. Deal, said and done. Try it on, just to make sure it fits." In the time taken previously, Chloe had found multiple dresses for her to try on, a beautiful royal blue one for Lily, and helped Alfina decide on her final dress. Sophia and Melody were still looking. "Well, I'm going to try these on and see which I look best in." Most likely, she would choose the champagne one, but the white and black ones looked good too. The girls went to try on their dresses while Melody and Sophia continued to browse.

"So Melody," Sophia started. "Do you like it here so far? I mean, I know you've only been here for like a day, but what do you think?" Melody smiled, laughing under her breath.

"I like it a lot, actually. It took a lot of begging to get my mum to agree to let us go to school here. Scarlett and Eddie made it sound so amazing that I just fell in love with it. Plus, Scarlett told me that the people here were amazing too. She talked about you a great deal." Sophia was touched.

"Aww, really? Well, we're like best friends, and Scarlett is amazing." Melody nodded in agreement.

"She talked a lot about a boy named Oscar too." At the mention of her brothers name, Sophia's head shot up.

"Really? What did she say..." Melody pulled a emerald green dress of the rack and held it up to her, turning to a mirror to see how it would look.

"Well by the way she talked about him I'd say she really likes him. She told me that he's really cute, and funny, and I don't know, she just says she loves to hang out with him but she doesn't get to often. So when she does, it's sort of special, you know?" Melody turned to face the girl. "Does this make me look paler? I think I'm gonna get this one, but I don't want to look like snow on a Christmas tree." Sophia shook her head, trying to gather all of this information.

"No, it looks great, but she really said all of that?" Melody nodded, running off to the dressing rooms. Sophia grabbed the white dress that she had been eyeing since the beginning and rushed to the dressing rooms as well. Alfina and Lily were in their dresses, modeling them to each other. When Chloe stepped out in the champagne colored dress, the two girls were in awe.

"Wow, Chloe! You look beautiful!" The blonde walked around the changing room, turning and modeling like a professional. Her face was lit with a smile.

"I'm definitely getting this one, girls. I hope Eddie likes it. Then again, why wouldn't he?" Chloe turned to see Scarlett emerging from the changing stall, her hands smoothing out the dress. Chloe squealed and clapped her hands. "You look beautiful! I'm a genius for picking it out! Oh Scarlett, you have to let me do your makeup for the dance!"

"I can do her hair," Melody offered, stepping out in her stunning dress. The girls all chirped and clapped and whispered about Scarlett's outfit and what they were going to do for their own hair and makeup on the night of the dance as well.

"Okay, well we should go buy these dresses so we can wear them to the dance." All the girls agreed, and the got dressed back in their regular clothes, heading to the checkout. Scarlett walked up beside Chloe in line and whispered to her.

"I think my brother is going to like your dress," she started. "But if you want him to like you, I think you should try opening up, and being your true self around him. I saw how you treated Lily and helped her with Isaac. If you were always like that, I think Eddie would really like you." Chloe sighed, knowing she was right.

"I know. Thanks, Scarlett, and for what it's worth, if Oscar doesn't ask you to that dance, he's an idiot, because any guy would be lucky to have you." Chloe gave her a quick side hug and smiled. Scarlett smiled back, trying not to be too obvious to the fact that she liked him, although everyone probably already knew. The dance was only a few days away, but only time would tell what happens before then.
