-Chapter Nine-
-Everybody's P.O.V-
The blonde huffed, smoke billowing out of her mouth as she listened to the muffled sound of gunshots and screams. Walter only smiled as he watched her lean back into her chair and stare forward. "Walter?"
"Yes?"
"Why do you think he chose this girl? Especially considering how young she is."
"Who knows, only Alucard knows what's going on in his head" Walter chuckled as the woman sighed and gave a small nod of agreement.
"This here is my mate"
Integra's eyebrows furrowed as she mulled over this. Alucard never mentioned anything about a mate before or that he even had one. The young girl and he were the complete opposite, which was understandable with how young she was that she, of course, reacted hastily to the things he did. The filter on her month nonexistent almost, at least from what the blonde could guess from the screams fluttering up through the floorboards along with the gunshots. Rarely did Alucard ever shoot his guns at the residents in the mansion, she didn't expect him to ever shoot them at his 'mate'.
"Either he's bored or wanting a reaction" she muttered to herself.
"Perhaps" Walter responded.
"Whatever it is, let's hope this 'mate' of his doesn't cause us too many problems."
-Kelly's P.O.V-
"Master, please! You must calm down!" Seras begged as she tried to hold the taller vampire back. I silently thanked her for showing up as I slowly backed away from the two. That wide smile was still stretched across Alucard's face as he pulled his lips back into a slight sneer.
"Move aside, Police Girl" he growled, using his arm to push her out of the way and started to advance towards me. Before being taken off guard by the blonde tackling him, crying out a small apology as she did so. I took this chance to take off running again, my feet feeling slick against the floor from the water that was still dripping off my hair and down my body. The towel was barely staying on either as I had to readjust it while running down the stairs so it wouldn't go flying off. Barging into my room once I finally found, I slammed the door shut and locked it.
Pressing my back against it while panting, I started to doubt that locking the door would have been enough to stop him. "That was close" was all I could say as I sunk down to the floor and sat there, shivering at how cold it felt against my bare skin. Looking around, I spotted a pile of clothes on my bed, making me groan as I looked down at my own clothes that I had snatched up before running. "Should have told me they were going to leave me some clothes to wear before I decided to take a shower" I huffed, before smiling gently as I reminded myself to give my thanks to Walter and Sir Integra later. Throwing my clothes to the side, I kept the undergarments with me as I walked over to the bed, examining the new clothes that were left out for me.
They looked exactly like the outfit Sears was wearing. Picking up the skirt I felt my left eye twitch at how small it looked, I wasn't a big fan of skirts, to begin with, nor was I a big fan of showing skin. I cast one last glance at my clothes that were now a discarded heap in the corner of the room before sighing as I looked back down at the outfit that was being provided to me. Getting to work on putting it on. I twirled around as I looked down at myself.
It felt a bit too tight as if it was one size too small for me. Part of me had my doubts that this was an accident as the shirt felt tight against my bosom and the skirt appeared even smaller than the one Sears had been wearing. Should I bring it up next time to Sir Integra or would that be too rude? After I mulled over it for a while, I decided just to leave it be. Not wanting to risk being rude to the woman that was putting up with me being here all because of some vampire.
My shoulders slumped as I started to feel like I was a burden. This appeared to be an organization that fought monsters, everyone here was trained for that job and I was just a high school student dragged into this. I barely knew how to correctly position my body while holding a gun and it took me fifteen tries just to hit the mark. I knew by that fact alone that I'd just cause problems for them when an emergency did come by. Sucking in a large amount of air, I straightened my back and puffed out my chest, deciding not to dwell on these sudden negative realizations.
Instead, I decided to do something that would help distract me, the first thing to come to mind was to explore the mansion and get to know the place I would be staying in for a while. Perhaps it would come in handy to know where everything was. Pulling at the skirt a bit, I walked over to the door and unlocked it, peeking my head out into the hallway so I could see if there was anything dangerous out there. More specifically a perverted, strange vampire. Once I was sure the coast was clear, I exited the room.
-Later-
The further up I got into the mansion, the more I found that it got brighter, different from the area my room was located in. I also found that certain halls looked exactly like one another, making it easy to feel lost. While wandering down one of the halls, I spotted something odd that caused me to halt in my steps. A mirror. A large one at that, it looked so out of place.
Reaching a hand up, I pressed it against the mirror's surface, staring at my own reflection that stared back at me with that same befuddle expression that I had on my own face. Thinking back to stories that I have read and movies I had watched, I wondered if this mirror was placed here to hide something. The thought of discovering a hidden room excited me as I moved around the length of the mirror, pressing my hands against certain areas before curling my fingers around the edges and pushed it to the side. The mirror moved with some difficulties as I continued to push it until the opening was big enough for me to fit through and peer inside. Looking inside, I found a long staircase that led down into a pitch-black room with no hints of light anywhere.
The light that poured in from the hall didn't seem to make it far as it only lit up the first four steps and barely the fifth one. I tilted my head and took a step forward, shivering at the difference in temperatures between the hidden area and the hallway. Walking down two steps, I stopped and backed up, thinking of the many horror movies I had watched within my lifetime. Nothing good could come out of going down there and with some effort, I pushed the mirror back into place and started to walk down the hall once more. Casting one final glance back at the mirror before deciding to go look for Sir Integra's office.
