Au Bon Pain

Saturday, December 20th

3:05 P.M.

"Where's Landon? It's been five minutes!" Massie said frustratingly. She was ah-bviously still annoyed that Derrington asked Sarah and Sari out. Even the spa wouldn't help her relax. She sipped her iced vanilla latte. It was cold, like her heart. The Ew-landos sat across the room (so they wouldn't butt in to the party planning) were still giggling over a boy they barely knew asked them out. What made him ask them out? Was he really over Massie? Massie couldn't think. She sipped her latte to fast. "Ow! I got a brain freeze!"

Dylan giggled. "I get those all the time. Hey, did you see that boy sitting next to Chris? He has dark black hair and ah-dorable eyes."

Alicia raised her hand. "That's Ace Bennet. He's Chris's cousin all the way from California. I hear his parents write books."

Dylan gaped. "How could you know more about my crush than me?"

"My souces are sacred," Alicia sang.

"Could that be the guy who sent me all those texts? Then again, there were different numbers."

"I saw Kemp, Chris, and some other boys staring at you while me and Alicia was over at the Tomahawks table," Claire offered.

"Really?" Dylan gasped. She hugged herself. "I have admirers! Do you think it was from me losing the 18 pounds?" She burped.

All of a sudden, Landon Dorsey came through the doors. "Sorry I'm late kiddies. I had another appointment. So, what's the party of yours in mind?" she took out her Palm Pilot.

"Christmas Party!" everybody said. "Ec-shactly on Ech-mas Eve," Massie added, putting her thumb on the roof of her mouth. She pulled it out. "On Christmas Eve please."

Landon jotted down. "Now, theme? It's a little late isn't it? Don't you BOCD kids have the Christmas Tree Lighting thing tomorrow?"

"Eh my gawd! I forgot!" Massie said loudly.

A/N: Yes, I forgot too... o

"Our theme is Summer in Winter," Kristen answered for her. "We thought it would be cool if we get those tanning lamps-things and have it like a beach with sand."

"Niiiiccceee. What about a DJ? Christmas or Summer?"

"Both."

"Invitations?"

"We'll do that at the Tree Lighting!" Massie said. "I'll make an announcement that everybody is invited."

"Banner?"

"It'll say 'Merry S'Winter!' Yeah,"

"Seems good to me. I'll make the rest of the plans. It'll be the party of the next ten years!" Landon said as she gathered her things.

Dylan burped. "My mom is getting Miley Cyrus for her Christmas special. We could ask her to preform later tonight that way everybody would hafta stay."

"Perf!" Landon said. "Now, sorry this meeting is ending early, I got another party to plan. For some boy named Derrick Harrington, I think."

"WHAT?" Massie screamed at the top of her lungs. Everybody in Au Bon Pain stared at Massie.

"Yeah, but I need to hurry. I need to see my son off for Christmas."

Massie clencthed her fist. "You can't let him have a party! It's my party I'm against!"

"She'll pay you extra," Claire suggested. Massie jerked her head up and down. Anything to stop Derrington having a total A-list party. Massie just had to have a much better A-list party. But of course, all she wanted was for Derrington to come to her party and be with her again.

Landon smiled. "For a raise. I have two many Christmas parties to scheduale. Now, I've really got to go. My son's plane is coming in in 20 minutes." She picked up her suitcase and headed out Au Bon Pain.

Sorry it's short. I have a million things to do. :(

Off to read Pride and Prejudice!
