Despite having been thoroughly put in her place by Harley, Sophie was still just a chipper as ever as she bounded and bounced in front of them as they strolled through Metropolis Central Park. The sun was shining brightly, the birds were singing loudly, and not a single cloud could be seen in the sky. Sophie had been half right when she had compared Metropolis to Disney World, seeing as it was annoyingly perfect in almost every way.

Sophie glanced around at the families playing together, throwing frisbees and footballs, having picnics and the like. Everywhere they turned, they saw the same scenarios. After awhile, Sophie bit her lip and tugged at Harley's dress sleeve.

"Hey Harley, is it just me...or is everybody here just so...perfect?" Sophie whispered, nervously. "They're all like...like little robots!"

"I got the same feeling, sweetie," said Harley, biting her bottom lip, too. "And it's really starting to freak me out."

Ivy smiled a little at the situation. "You see, this is why we don't casually go out in the daytime around here. You never know what these crazy people could do to us," Ivy said, her voice growing deeper. She grabbed Sophie's arm and pulled her closer. "They might brainwash us and turn us into one of them! Boring, typical, brainless machines!" Ivy loved the sudden look of terror Sophie seemed to have at that moment, and she started to laugh a little.

Sophie gulped and cleared her throat, calming herself down. "Oh yeah? Just let them try it. I'll...I'll destroy this whole freaky city!"

Harley smiled a little. "Come on, don't get ahead of yourself, honey."

Sophie shrugged and sighed. "Okay, okay. Maybe not the whole freaky city."

Ivy smiled and ruffled Sophie's hair a bit, giving her a tiny hug. "Maybe just a part of it."

Sophie grinned, giggling a little as she gave Ivy a high-five. "Right!"

Metropolis was definitely different then what Sophie had imagined. She was used to Gotham's epic "gothicness," and Metropolis just oozed positivity. And it was just a little too much. As the three walked through the park, Sophie hoped to see at least some kind of crime: a bank robbery, a hold up, a kidnapping, anything, but they saw nothing of the sort.

Harley blew her bangs out of her eyes as they sat down near a huge, bubbling fountain. "Geez, this place sure is bor-ing. It's a shame none of the Metropolis baddies are out right now. I'm losing my mind even more than usual! I wish we could go ahead and get on with our plan just so we could have some action around here!"

Ivy angrily shushed her loud-mouthed friend as people walked by. "Well, we can't," she hissed. "And anyway, I said no action. We still don't even know if Superman is around or not, so we need to be extra cautious."

Harley put a finger to her lip as she glanced around, thoughtfully. "Well then...let's find out if he's around."

"And just how do you suppose we do that?" asked Ivy, crossing her arms over her chest.

Harley grinned. "Simple, really! Superman comes out when there's trouble, right? And from the looks of this place, the only thing they have to worry about right now, is their shoelaces coming untied. So," she said, her voice getting excited, "Alls we gotta do...is put ourselves in some kinda danger, then if Superman really is around,he'll have to come and save us!"

"What?" cried Ivy, her eyes wide, her arms dropping to her side in shock.

"What?" Sophie cried, jumping up, her fists clenched. "Oh, what a great idea, Harley!"

Harley beamed with pride after seeing how truly excited Sophie was for one of her ideas. Just like before. Ivy, on the other hand, was completely dumbfounded.

"But, what kinda danger, Harley? Are we gonna jump off the bridge or something?" asked Sophie.

"Or something," said Harley, smiling a little. "I like your enthusiasm, sweetie, but that's not exactly what I had in mind."

"Oh," said Sophie, sadly. After a moment of thinking, she spoke again. "So then...what about jumping off a building?"

Harley put her finger to her lip, considering it.

Ivy snapped out of her trance and cleared her throat. "No jumping off anything, you two! Superman is more of a "rescuing kittens from trees" type of guy, anyway. That silly Boy Scout just loves things like that."

Harley sighed heavily, sitting down on the edge of the fountain. "Aw, and we're fresh out of kittens."

Sophie sat down next to Harley, and they both frowned. Ivy was relieved to have seemingly convinced her two partners in crime that their crazy idea was too crazy, even for the likes of them.

Suddenly, Sophie brightened like a Christmas light. "Well I could be the kitten."

Harley and Ivy turned to her. "What?" They asked, together.

Sophie jumped up once more, pulling Ivy into her place seated next to Harley. She needed both their undivided attentions.

"Look! I could climb up there," Sophie pointed over to a nearby construction site. "It's rickety, it's dangerous...it's perfect! I mean, what could cause people to freak out more then having a little kid playing on top of a place like that?"

Harley burst into a huge grin, her eyes sparkling. "Now that's what I'm talking about!" Harley kissed Sophie's forehead, gently. "Only...there's no way in heck that you're going up there."

"Agreed," said Ivy, firmly. "There is no way in heck you're going up there. Do you have any idea how crazy that sounds?"

"Yeah, I do!" Sophie said. "And it's gonna be fine! I'll just climb up there, play around, and wait for Superman to show up, okay?"

"Okay?" Ivy spat, almost laughing. "No-kay!"

"But look," said Sophie, almost in desperation. "Aunt Ivy, you said he was a Boy Scout, right? They want nothing more than to "teach a lesson" to kids who do dangerous things...and what's more dangerous then playing around on top of a construction site? He'll eat it up!"

Harley glanced at Ivy, nervously.

Sophie sighed a little. "Look, you guys. I'll just climb up one of the ladders and start to... I dunno, play like I'm walking a tightrope or something else just as stupid. You guys just need to cause a scene and get people to notice me up there, and maybe somebody can use the Super Signal or however they call him for help. Then, I'm sure he'll come a-runnin'...uh, come a-flyin', he'll get me down, give me a talkin' to, and be on his merry way."

"And if he doesn't?" Ivy said, nervously.

"And if he doesn't, I'll just wait for the cops to show up and let them get their own action by "rescuing" a kid in danger." Sophie paused. "They might welcome the job, seeing as they don't have anything else to do in this town. It's gonna be easy peasey one-two-threesy. Either way, we'll find out if Superman is here or not just by me climbing up a ladder. I've climbed up tons of stuff in Gotham before. How hard could it be, here? It's a fool-proof plan! So stop. Worrying!"

Ivy was going to lose her sanity by being with Harley and Sophie. She could already tell. They both came up with the most hair-brained schemes of anyone she'd met. The worst part was, that Ivy actually agreed to their ideas, most of the time. This time though, she hated Sophie's idea with a passion.

"I cannot condone this plan," Ivy said, her arms crossed. "At all."

"Well," Harley glanced at Sophie, who stuck out her bottom lip like a sad puppy. "I don't...exactly...have any other ideas. You gotta admit, Red, she does have a point. I mean, Superman is gonna love rescuing a careless kid, and people are gonna be more panicked then if it was the two of us up there."

Sophie crossed her arms over her chest, smugly. "Sorry Aunt Ivy, but it's two against one this time." She grinned and pulled her hair into two high, very cute pigtails, making her, in fact, look very young and even more innocent. "And this little kid is ready to play with Mister Big Bad Superhero!"

Ivy glanced at Harley in shock. "If she falls, we're using your head as a cushion, seeing as it's so full of air. " She turned to Sophie seriously. "You better be careful up there, darling. I mean it."

Sophie grinned and giggled, happy that she had convinced both her partners of how great her plan truly was. "You both worry too much. It's gonna be a piece of cake! Besides, what's the worst thing that could happen?"
