Chapter 9: Disturbances

'I've been promoted?' She wondered.

Simone blinked before nodding in understanding at his words before rushing to her office. Rin stood there looking at her in confusion, raising her arms in the air. Her eyes watched Simone rummage through paperwork and her desk drawer gathering items.

"I've been promoted Rin. We will continue later ok!" she quickly stated as the young woman looked at her in shock.

"Don't ask." She muttered trying to wrap her own mind around what just happened. "I don't know. But apparently there is a meeting we're going to. I'll call you."

Rin nodded in quick understanding before rushing to her desk and preparing to leave also. Simone gathered a stack of paperwork, her phone, keys, and her purse quickly before rushing back to her door. Quickly she cut off the light to her office and locked the door before rushing back to Sesshomaru's office. She could still hear the man spew words while Sesshomaru walked around his desk to meet her outside his door.

"I apologize but I'm due in another meeting." He spoke again. "Rin will see you out. Ms. Valentine, come." He said before turning and simply walking off leaving everyone in the area in silent awe. Simone muttered before bowing quickly and rushing off after the male with heels clicking. She followed him into the elevator as they watched the enraged faces of the two leaders of Hirakama Exports before the doors slid shut tightly in front of them. Simone turned looking at Sesshomaru with wide eyes.

"You know…they hate you now, right?" She stated sarcastically watching a smirk appear on his mouth. Time flew by as the elevator descended down.

"Come."

She watched with humor as the doors opened and he strolled out onto the pristine garage marble floor of Tashio Corp. The lights came on instantly showing off the other expensive vehicles parked about in disarray. She looked about at all the fancy cars owned by the leaders of this large corporation wondering what vehicle was his. The sound of his phone going off again buzzed in his pocket as he quickly pulled it out to look at it. It didn't take long before a solid black on black Lamborghini Veneno with lights flashed in front of the direction they were walking.

'Figures.' She thought humorously before walking behind him trying to figure out how the doors open. "Where are we going exactly?" She questioned as the doors flew upward automatically on the side panel. She turned around to see him standing there placing his phone back from where it came.

"Wh-"

He had grabbed her hand and led her into the seating properly making sure she got in safely. She sat in the leather chair in shock of his gentlemanly behavior before her attentions were directed to the inside of the vehicle. Everything was smooth and polished with a technological system in the center. She felt as if she had hopped into the Bat Mobile than a luxury vehicle. She looked over watching him get inside before the doors came down sealing them in.

"So where are we going?" She asked again while watching him fasten his seatbelt and cut on the car silently. Her heartbeat increased with the start of the purr of the engine. She looked around the vehicle as if feeling its power beneath her come to life. She quickly put on her seatbelt trying to secure what little security she had in the overpowered contraption. Suddenly he began to drive out of the garage and soon into the light of the early morning sun. She looked out the tinted windows as he glided through Tokyo traffic with ease and content. He was so close to her now she felt claustrophobic. His car smelled everything like him of autumn with the undertone of pure masculinity.

Sesshomaru clutched the wheel tightly suddenly regretting taking the female with him in such a tight space. His mind burned with questions to ask her about this morning yet her scent seemed to have other intentions on his psyche. Already her intoxicating scent was calling to his beast with its sweet nature. He glanced over watching as she sat tightly in his leather seat gripping onto the armrest watching the streets blur pass them. He inhaled her scent again before his eyes narrowed looking out at the path in front of him.

"You're nervous." He stated weaving into the next lane listening to the offbeat of her heart.

"No I'm not." She lied, looking out the window and biting her lip. Everything blurred past them and her mind was still spinning. 'Didn't my mom teach me not to run off with strangers?' She thought to herself in humor.

"Hm" He hummed.

Simone knew that statement. He wasn't buying her story. She knew some demons could sense a lie but she did forget that Sesshomaru could tell instantly due to his Inu nose. Thinking quickly she responded. "Well…It's not exactly a good look when the new girl runs off with the boss unexpectedly in the middle of one meeting early in the morning to go to another one she knows nothing about."

"It is if you're my secretary." He answered quickly.

She bit her lip recalling the earlier conversation. Playing innocent she spoke. "But I'm not."

Without missing a beat he responded. "You are now. You've been promoted. You start now."

Simone sat flustered looking at him like he was crazy. "What! Are you hearing yourself! How can I be your assistant? I can't speak Japanese!" She declared throwing up her hands.

"A minor problem. You're communicating to me just fine. That's all that matters." He concluded.

Simone looked at him puzzled before a smile etched on her face. Sesshomaru quickly glanced over noticing her infamous playful expression again. He looked ahead as she turned her body towards him. "So…does that mean I get paid more?" She asked playfully.

He smirked before he slowed his speed down. "Americans." He muttered.

Simone smiled before looking out the window noticing they were near a lot of water front properties and eateries. The water glittered beautifully under the sun from a distance, looking like a sea of shimmery diamonds and sapphires. She could see some people walking about and she could instantly tell they were in some kind of upscale area by looking at the attire of the people and the overall atmosphere. Slowly they drove up a paved path and pulled up in front of a red awning. A young man in a black suit stepped forward as Sesshomaru put the vehicle in park. He unbuckled his seat belt as the doors rose and quickly stepped out.

Simone unclicked her seat belt slowly unsure of what to do before he came to her side and held out his hand. She looked down at his offered assistance before taking it timidly. He pulled her up as she adjusted her dress and gathered her purse. She looked back at the documents left behind before he placed his hand on the small of her back indicating she should follow. She blushed a little bit being reminded of his more…gentler side which placed a tiny seed of hope that all was not lost and he in fact hadn't forgotten her completely.

She walked through as a few greeters held the doors open for the pair. "Ah Mr. Tashio!" A man greeted in Japanese.

Simone looked about the room as the two spoke looking at how elegant the place was. She was shocked that they were actually inside of some high class restaurant. She watched the silverware and chopsticks placed on the table in a sort of fusion between eastern and western. Suddenly a small pressure was felt on her back as she was reminded that Sesshomaru never let go. She glanced up to see him waiting for her to walk forward. She blinked a few times watching as the man he spoke to earlier walked forward towards a set of stairs. She followed him upward with Sesshomaru on her heels as they approached a terrace. The doors were held open as the smell of sea and sand hit her senses and a gentle breeze came though lifting her hair slightly. She continued to walk forward watching as a waiter stood next to an isolated empty table. Quickly Sesshomaru walked forward and pulled out her chair as she sat thanking him before he went to his own.

Simone sat in wonder looking about her surroundings fascinated as the man spoke in Japanese again. Everything seemed so crisp and elegant here down to the clean white linens on every table blowing in the ocean wind. The ocean water glittered magnificently with the sun reflecting off of its surface. She squinted her eyes from the sun's rays but enjoyed it nonetheless. She turned to glance at the Inu male in front of her watching the sun shine off of his silver strands of hair.

He had stopped to admire her for a minute. Her long hair lifted gently in the wind with a soft sigh of happiness escaping her lips. Wide brown doe like eyes glanced around at the environment about her spellbound by the vision of the ocean at her side. Her hands skimmed the designs on the silverware delicately before a small blush dusted her cheeks. Finally her glittering eyes landed on him and once again the playful smirk reappeared on her face. She tilted her cheek up at him before speaking.

"So this is where we're having our meeting?" She teased before a waiter came and handed them their menu. The two men exchanged words before he walked off. Simone glanced at her menu realizing the whole thing was in Japanese.

"A fitting location don't you think?" He responded nonchalantly looking over his own menu.

She smiled wider and was about to respond with something laced in sarcasm before his phone buzzed again. He looked down and reached into his pocket before taking the small Apple device out. She watched him put it away before it buzzed again. "You should probably take that." She stated abet curious.

Sesshomaru didn't spare the device a second glance. "It can wait till this Sesshomaru is done with his meeting."

Simone smiled softly hiding it with her menu before glancing back down at the breakfast and brunch options. The waiter came to them and spoke Japanese with a wide smile on his face. She listened as he asked for their choice of beverages. Apparently Sesshomaru frequented the place since the waiter mentioned about his usual before turning to her.

"And you miss?" He asked in accented English.

"Water with lemon please." She answered with a bright smile as he reflected it with his own. He quickly bowed and left to gather their drinks before she picked up the menu again. A few seconds passed before she placed the menu down and leaned back in her chair.

"Hn?" He asked.

"It's in Japanese." She stated bluntly crossing her arms playing smart. She still wanted him to think she knew nothing until she laid her cards down.

"A conundrum." He stated with a smirk as her smile turned into a small devilish smirk of her own.

'Ok smartass.' She thought before picking up the menu and looking back at the options. She decided she would just go with whatever was expensive and also reading some of the key words to make sure she got something delicious. After a few minutes the waiter came back and placed their drinks down and took their orders. She pointed to the menu showing him what she wanted in which he happily scribbled it down repeating something about 'Excellent Choice.'

"You do realize you ordered the same as this Sesshomaru?" He teased before picking up his glass of wine and taking a sip.

"You do know it's too early for alcohol." She responded waving off his question with her own. Her statement of her non-caring tone hang heavy in the air.

The familiar buzzing sound rang again among the growing silence. Simone looked back at him with a slight frown. "You should really take that this time." She once again advised.

"We're meeting." He responded looking out into the ocean feeling an ease about him that he hadn't felt in a long time. The sea breeze mingled with her cherry scent and had a calming effect as he remembered it once did before. The sound of the waves crashing against the shore along with the soft cries of seagulls echoed around him. In centuries for once everything felt whole again.

"Ok. Let's meet." She said with enthusiasm. "What's on the agenda?"

He turned to her and leaned back in his chair eyeing her inquisitively. "How is it you knew what those papers were about?"

Simone didn't skip a beat as she responded with the semi truth. "The deliverer told me what they were in Japanese. But I told him I didn't understand and he told me what it was in broken English. I looked at the dates and they were numerical and clearly written were stock information in English letters. It wasn't hard to put two and two together as to what I was looking at. Also, my mother is a financial lawyer for a small firm back in the U.S. I picked up on some things." She explained with a smile thinking about her mother secretly sending her best wishes.

'Hm' He thought not quite believing it before staring her down again. "Seems you'll do well as my assistant. Surely such a task seems to be easy to do even with such low qualifications as yours." He stated with a smirk smelling the spike of her scent increase. She glared at him heatedly like she did 500 years ago when they were pretending at dinner to be courting or when she threatened to stab him with her eating utensils.

"I've been working for you… what is now going… on two almost three months. And you know one day this Americana is going to stab you with these!" She stated holding up a pair of chopsticks glaring at him.

His eyes widened as he recalled that dinner before settling in a frown. She had spoken the same words to him back then too. Of course she had every intention of going through with her threat and even provoked him into sparring with her outside which led to her giving him what he now knew was 'the finger'. Nostalgia settled within him as he fought the desire to pull her across the table and have his way.

Seeing his reaction she frowned and looked at her hand completely forgetting the memory of what she had done in the past. She watched his face distort into concentration and silence filled the air around them. Simone slowly sat down her chopsticks staring at him in concern. She looked at his frown and remembered what her mom use to do to her. She reached out and quickly rubbed his forehead startling him. "You'll get wrinkles if you keep doing that." She chided playfully before he captured her hand in his own.

Her breath hitched feeling his calloused hands hold onto hers so intimately. The warmth of his flesh radiated onto her own as she let it rest in his palms for him to do whatever he wanted. She stared up at him holding her breath praying a small prayer he would remember her or do something that would finally end the charade she wanted to end since last night.

Sesshomaru held her hand in his as her words echoed in his mind. He knew it was pitiful he could remember almost every piece of dialogue that ever passed her lips from angry declarations about his character to the more intimate moans that vibrated deep in her throat from their throws of passion. And yet it all dimmed to a muffle as he held her hand securely in his own. Her hands were softer than he remembered as he rubbed soothing circles on the back of her palms.

The sounds of steps could be heard breaking the spell they both fell under. Suddenly he let go as the waiter came and placed their food out in front of them along with western eating utensils. The waiter lifted up the covers and bowed respectively before asking them if they needed anything. Both shook their heads before looking back at their food trying to grasp control over the situation. Simone smiled brightly at the sight of her food.

It was a breakfast sandwich with sunny side egg, salmon, a thin slice of steak and some type of white sauce with a side of miso soup and a few other sides. The steam rising from it entered her nose and coated her palate. For the moment the earlier incident left her mind as she readied her fork and knife to dig into her meal. She looked up watching Sesshomaru pick a portion of his own with his chopsticks.

She instantly dived in trying her best to be as lady like as possible while fighting the urge to just go in at it with her fingers. She cut into her sandwich and took a bite relishing in the burst of flavors and seasonings hitting her senses. She nearly moaned at the contact of savors as she continued to dive into her meal.

Light conversation flowed between the two as they asked questions and gave answers. The sun shined even higher in the air heating their skins as they delighted in their meal and exchange. Every so often a jab would be thrown and another one given before they returned back to neutral subjects. From a distance one would think they were a couple as they sat enclosed in the far corner sharing in a meal on an early Monday workday with wine and lemon water. Sesshomaru basked in the high pitch of her voice when she got excited and how animatedly her hands moved while she told a story of her youth. Her eyes would intensely stare into his own as he reflected his personal upbringing back to her. She seemed to be really interested in how he came about his personal wellbeing more than anything as if she was catching up on time she missed. Silence once settled between the two as they took part in the last morsels of their meal.

"Don't forget to pick the splinters of the table from your teeth."

Simone blinked before looking up at the demon who smirked back at her. She glared at him before swallowing slowly. Picking up her napkin she wiped her lips and spoke. "You would know all about sticks in your mouth wouldn't you dog-sama, ne?" She taunted with one word of Japanese.

He frowned at this realizing why he found her at times infuriating. Her witty remarks never ceased as she seemed to secretly prepare for his commentary. The woman always had something to give back like a never ending rolodex of hate. He smirked, "No that seems to be your area of expertise."

Her mouth hung open slightly as she caught onto the hidden sexual reference of his response. "Oh good one!" She sarcastically applauded. "Sticks in mouths. It would seem you have a nice joke or two about the stick in your ass you seem so fond to shove up there."

"The very same one that comes from the table you are engorging at the moment." He remarked before taking the final piece of his dish and eating it slowly ignoring her use of profanity.

Simone growled at this before giving him a glare. "If I could kick your ass on this beach!" She muttered placing her silverware down.

The male blinked in front of her smirking revealing canines. "Is that a challenge, onna?"

"Oh it's a promise!" She stated bluntly feeling her combative spirit return to her.

"We can do battle right here on the beach, but of course your attire would be…"

"My attire wouldn't hinder me from combat if that's what you're insinuating." She countered. "Don't underestimate me Sesshomaru-sama. I'm no ordinary onna." She stated firmly crossing her arms below her chest.

Sesshomaru smirked before calling out lifting a finger for the check. Simone looked at him in question as he spoke to the waiter and simply handed him his black card. The waiter took it with both hands as if bowing to the card more so than to Sesshomaru. A few minutes passed before he came back and Sesshomaru signed the check. Little words were exchanged before the waiter bowed to him and then to her with a huge smile. Sesshomaru stood before Simone could move and pulled her chair out for her. She stood up glaring at him wondering what he had planned before he actually took her hand in his own once again and led her back to the interior doors. Her cheeks turned all shades of red as she followed him like a dog she called him out to be. They came outside before Sesshomaru spoke quickly for them to hold his vehicle. Puzzled she waited till he pulled her in the opposite direction towards the beach.

"You can't be serious!" She stated watching the beach get closer and closer. She quickly reached down with her other hand and took off her heels so as to not get sand in them.

"You challenged this Sesshomaru."

"It was a joke! We can't really do this now!" She rebutted kicking up sand as they went along.

Within seconds they were ankle deep in sand facing off. Sesshomaru had taken off his jacket and shoes and even rolled up the white sleeves of his crisp white shirt as he faced her. She bounced in her stance trying to gather the combat knowledge and pull forth her powers just in case. She could feel her chakra swirl inside of her and even toyed with the wind a bit. She took in a deep breath feeling oddly at ease at facing the 'Killing Perfection' again after so long. She reveled in his calm spirit with eyes that glared mischievously in honey dews taking pride in his usual stoic non caring expression. He stood tall body facing her in his usual stance as she moved into hers crouched one.

Sesshomaru watched the woman as her dress hugged to her with just the ends wiping to and fro about her. The ocean breeze picked up her hair and brushed across her face but she did nothing to secure it. Her eyes dazzled and her skin glowed seemingly like the beach reincarnated and personified in the petite woman before him. One minute she was as gentle as the breeze and the next she was as striking as the crush of waves. She reminded him of everything she once was and still is. Powerful, confident, and untamed like the elements she manipulated. He was unsure of her powers and so made a notion to tire her out. He would have to ask her about her power skill set and how she unleashed it. Luckily this part of the beach was isolated save for the restaurant that overlooked it. Yet, no one was about except the waiters and workers watching in fascination at the couple. They stood across from each other sizing the other up for what felt like hours. Finally Simone had enough.

Quickly, she rushed through the sand landing in front of him to do a punch to his side. Her feet sunk with each step she took in the large mass. His eyes widened for a fraction before blocking her attempt. He felt the strong force of her punch push him back some and he smirked realizing her strength hadn't diminished. But he could tell she was rusty and unaware of her training. He pushed her arm back before flexing his clawed fingers careful to avoid scratching her.

This time she spun and kicked out at him as he blocked that too with a smirk. "Rusty I see." He provoked as she quickly moved faster and actually started making progress. She quickly realized she needed to find some type of sparring class so she could get back into combat state but it seemed that she didn't need much. Muscle memory had kicked in and she kept a nice pace with the male in front of her. She just frowned at how out of shape she had become. She could feel her movements drag a little and her core muscles waking up from slumber.

Sesshomaru watched her dodge and exchange attacks. She seemed to gain more confidence by the second of her abilities the more she moved. Her body movement was jerky at first as if she was getting reacquainted with her own body. It didn't take long for her movements to become more fluid like his own. They danced on the beach under the sun's watchful gaze completely uncaring about the world around them as they fought. They had moved quite a bit downwards away from any activity to they were by themselves isolated from view.

The waves clashed behind them reflecting their clash in attacks. Sweat rolled down Simone's temples as she continued to fight using her power to make up for the physical strength she lacked to combat Sesshomaru's might. He seemed to notice as his attacks started coming in quicker. Finally seeing an opening she spun to put everything she had in one powerful kick to his torso.

"Agggghhhh!" She yelled before her eyes widened. She swallowed thickly at her circumstances. She looked hesitantly down for a split millisecond at his strong grip encasing her caught her leg tightly in his own grasp before his other arm reached out and grabbed her arm. Quicker than she could react he tossed her down solidly into the sand with his weight on top of her, securing her defeat.

Her chest rose with lungs sucking in salty oxygen with the taste of ocean salt and sand in her mouth. Her eyes closed with limbs laying limply about her in the sand underneath the strong demon that straddled her hips keeping her from moving. But she didn't care as she lay exhausted and happy to have let loose some of her energy and genuinely enjoyed the fight. She could feel sand all over her body and was sure it was now in places that would take days to remove. She opened her eyes and smiled peering up and shielding her eyes with a free hand from the sun. Sesshomaru sat on top of her still holding onto her tanned exposed leg with bared claws at her neck as if he was going to decapitate her. His silver hair blew wildly in the wind about him with his infamous smirk plastered on his face. Oddly enough she felt safe with the man watching as he slowly let her go.

Sesshomaru looked down at the onna in triumph before his own breath caught in his throat. She was covered in sand but she held a smile on her face that read freedom. Her curly dark tresses tangled together and haloed in the sand around her. A few strands stuck to her skin from the glistening sweat that now rolled down her body into the fabric of her powdered blue dress. Her tanned skin was red from the sun and her chest rose frantically collecting oxygen. Her dress had risen revealing the tantalizing bronze legs of hers that brushed against the sand. One leg lay straight whereas the other was caught in his grip alongside of his hip. His skin burned and his hand subconsciously moved to grip her leg tighter feeling the plump flesh practically hug his waistline. He moved his hand slowly away mustering the discipline to control his desires.

Simone blushed feeling a breeze in a place that didn't need any instigation of sensations. Sesshomaru seemed to realize that her dress had indeed risen and he quickly let go of her and stood up. She did her best to brush down her dress before she was lifted up and placed on her feet. She shook her dress and hair hoping to get out the sand a little.

"Can you stand?" He asked with a tone laced in concern watching her flick her hair repeatedly.

Simone blushed before nodding. "I'm a little tired but it was so worth it." She stated feeling great about her match despite her loss. She fixed her dress and followed alongside him down the beach back to the bench with their items. Their walk was done in silence with each step they took creating a path in the sand. The waves crashed on the beach with the water brushing against her toes and ankles. Simone didn't realize how far they had gotten and was shocked by how much time had passed. She shielded her eyes from the rays of the sun feeling her skin slightly burn from being under its harsh heated gaze for so long. The glorious blazing star was now a little bit higher after its midday mark meaning lunch had passed and it now had to be all of one o clock. They finally made it to their items and quickly grabbed them. They shook themselves of the excess sand quickly realizing that the attempt was futile.

Simone tucked a strand of hair behind her ear hearing the sound of buzzing going off from his jacket pocket. He quickly pulled out the phone and answered. She listened intently feeling sorry for distracting him from his duties. But she couldn't lie, it was the most fun she'd had since she arrived. She watched him hang up before he motioned for her to follow him.

"It seems my presence is requested immediately." He stated feeling his good mood vanishing at the contents of his brother's message. "Damn" He muttered in Japanese before making a call.

Simone grew worried hearing him curse in Japanese and she grew concerned at the tone he used. She couldn't remember the last time he voiced his frustration but she knew when he did it, it meant something bad was coming.

"What's wrong?" She asked as he grabbed her hand securely and headed back towards the restaurant. Her breath hitched in her throat feeling the contact of his strong hands on her own pulling her along like a rag doll. At the gesture she felt a tingling sensation fill her making her grab his own tightly in return. They made it back to the restaurant in record time. Suddenly his speeding machine pulled up in front of them and the concierge got out immediately before handing him his keys with a bow. Sesshomaru grabbed them and nodded in response before helping her into the vehicle and then going around and getting in himself.

Quicker than she could realize they had drove off in a flash. Simone looked at him as he tensed up considerably already transforming into the stoic Sesshomaru she knew from before. His eyes had a coldness to them that she recognized only when he was in battle. She had seen such a light carefree change in him only for it to be lost to her in a matter of seconds. 'Whoever ruined this day for me will pay by my hands.' She vowed tightening her little hands in a fist. She looked down at her hands already missing his warmth as she stretched her fingers from their tight grip. She looked up and turned slightly towards him in her seat. "What's going on? Tell me now!" she demanded glaring at him.

He made no sound as he switched gears pushing the car faster. She looked about the window and noticed they were speeding back towards the office. "Dammit Sesshoumaru tell me now!" she yelled watching as he continued to speed through the streets of Tokyo. Frustrated she thought of her options. His attitude wasn't adding up. When he normally came this way with her, it was to protect her from something or someone. Her mind calculated her options.

'He's not going to tell me unless I force it. I haven't signed any documents that I would be his secretary and regardless he has every right to ask me to leave…unless I can trump that position. The only way to do so would be to work for his father…' She thought before she reached in her phone and sighed heavily. Her heart beat increased at the betrayal she was about to do. Steeling her emotions she began to text frantically with fingers practically punching the screen in with the letters. She looked back up at him as he continued to speed barely stopping at any lights along the way. She did notice oddly enough no police officers were chasing them or taking his tag. Surely, he had broken every speeding law record ever in existence.

But instead he turned a corner and parked in the front of her apartment complex." You are to stay here understood." He demanded with his cold gaze as the woman returned his gaze. Putting two and two together she began to piece together what must be happening. 'Someone is at the office that he's trying to protect me from. But who? And why?'

It wasn't as icy as his but he caught the defiance none the less. "Is that an order?" She asked before looking straight forward avoiding his gaze as her mind calculated waiting for a return text.

Sesshomaru was shocked at her response. She sounded just like the old warrior she used to be. His frown darkened as he clutched the steering wheel pressing his foot on the gas in warning for her to move. "Go home, Ms. Valentine-sama." He stated coldly.

She bristled as his formal tone but knew from the past old habits die hard. "For now, Tashio-sama." She responded with distaste as she got out of the vehicle being sure not to slam the door out of frustration. She needed just one text and a phone call and he would regret not telling her.

Sesshomaru watched the woman get out the car as if nothing happened. He could smell her anger but was shocked to find it had died down instantly the moment she checked her phone. He growled in exasperation of the situation. His claws tightened wanting to kill something. He growled louder pushing the gears in drive before turning to head back towards the office. His phone rang loudly in his pocket as he reached to grab it.

"Speak." He growled his beast growing angry at having his female upset and their day ruined.

"Yo, Shiru Corps are here. Their head ass kisser is here along with his goonies." Inuyasha mumbled over the phone. "Kouga isn't negotiating and it's pissing them off. But honestly Shiru looks to be distracted."

"Did he go near Simone's office?"

"He tried. I noticed his 'body guards' tried to get close as well but Miroku put a seal on the door inside to keep them at bay. I don't think the meeting was coincidental bro. He's up to something."

Sesshomaru tightened his fist around the small cellular device. "On the way."
