Hey guys!
If you're wondering how many more chapters til' this story ends, it's around 5 more chapters. (:
Hehe.
Oh, and warning: This chapter is OOC. :DD … a bit.
Disclaimer: I don't own iCarly. You should know.
Freddie's P.O.V.
'My life is a jigsaw puzzle and you're my missing piece. 3 more days.' I saved the text to drafts. "Sam, let's go buy a jigsaw puzzle." I told the lazy blonde who was sitting next to me.
"Dorky, but alright." She said, grabbing my car keys. She didn't have her own car yet.
"Who's driving?" I asked her as I followed her out the door.
"You. If I drive, I might kill you." She was about to hand me the keys when she stopped. "Wait, never mind, I'm, driving." She started to run outside.
"Sam, SAM! Get back here! You are not killing me! Sam!" I followed after her. I got outside just in time to catch up to her. "Sam!" She looked back to see where I was, and when she spotted me, she started sprinting. "Sam!" I ran up to her and caught her by the waist. "Gotcha." I grabbed my keys from her, still holding her.
"Okay, okay, you caught up to me, now let goooo," She demanded, trying to wriggle out of my arms.
"Nope." She almost got away from me so I held her tighter, placing my arms all around her waist. "Let's just take a taxi." I placed my arm under her knees, and my other near her torso, so basically I'm carrying her bridal-style.
"Frederly! Put me down!" She commanded, trying to squirm free from my grip.
"Nope, or else you'll attempt to grab my keys again." I called a taxi and the taxi arrived somewhat 2 minutes later.
Sam gave up on trying to squirm free. She sighed. "Okay, well there's the taxi, so let go of me." She looked up at me.
I shook my head, entering the taxi in the back, and still holding Sam. I made her sit up on my lap. "Nope. You're still not getting away from me." I hugged her waist, pulling her close to me.
This feels so wrong yet right at the same time. She's not my girlfriend anymore, so I couldn't do this to her… but it feels so right. Maybe I do like Sam, I thought to myself.
She sighed in defeat and groaned. "Whatever." I could see her trying to hold back a smile. I smirked, and held her even tighter to me.
"You're never getting away from me." I felt her tense up when I said that. I guess she did that since it sounds so… flirty.
We arrived at a dollar store. What? The jigsaw puzzles here are really cheap! I paid the taxi driver. Before Sam could burst out the taxi, I hugged her around the waist again. "Nope. Not yet." I carried her again bridal-style, and walked up to the dollar store. I walked around the store looking for jigsaw puzzles all while carrying Sam.
"Nub." She spoke. "When are you letting go of me?"
"When we get home." I answered, grabbing a jigsaw puzzle and going to where the cashiers are so that I could pay. The cashier lady was looking at us weird, but I just ignored her and paid for it. I asked for Sam's phone.
"No. Not until you let me go." She crossed her arms. When she did that, I almost dropped her.
"Sam, just give me it." I said, reaching for her butt pocket.
"Don't even think about it, Fredward. It's not even there." She raised an eyebrow.
"Then where—" I stopped talking. My eyes traveled from her face to her breasts. I blushed. "Um… er… ca-can… S…Sam."
"Not until you let me go." She told me.
"I'm not letting you go."
"Then no."
"Well, there's one way to get it without letting you go…" I tried carrying her with only one hand while my other hand started moving up her stomach near her—
"Okay! Okay! Stop or I'll break your neck! Here you go." She reached inside her shirt and pulled out her Pear Phone. She handed it to me.
I took it, and blushed at the thought that it touched… I shook my head. No, I shouldn't be thinking that. I called Mark with my phone who dropped off the jigsaw puzzle at Chelsea's house. I sent the text, and called the taxi. I made Sam sit on my lap again, and carried her back to our apartment when we arrived there. "So, what do you want to do now?" I asked Sam as I closed the door with my foot.
"You know, I'm amazed that you still aren't tired of carrying me all day. And I don't know." She sighed.
"Well, you are pretty light." I said, sitting on the couch and pulling her to my lap.
"Yeah, yeah, just let go of me now." She said, irritated. I obliged, and released her for the first time today. She suddenly stood up, took my arms, pulled me to her, kicked the back of my knees making me fall down, and pinning me on the floor. She took one of her hands and slapped my arms. "This," Slap. "is," Slap "What," Slap "You," Slap "Get," Slap "For," Slap "Carrying," Slap "Me," Slap "All," Slap "Day," Slap slap slap slap slap. Her face was almost touching mine. I started to inch closer but caught myself. If I kiss her, she'll kill me!
Wait, why do I even want to kiss her?
Oh gosh.
I do like her.
Sam caught me with my thinking face. Before she could ask anything, I started tickling her vigorously. "Dork! Stop! Gosh! Hahhahah! No! Stop!" She stumbled off of me laughing continuously. "Hahahahahah, FREDWARD STOP IT, HAHAHAHAHHHAHHAHAH." I laughed at how she was laughing so hard. Sam coughed. "Ugh, hahahaa, stop it, stop tickling me!" I finally stopped and looked at the clock. I've been tickling her for about 2 minutes. I looked at Sam who was panting. "Geez Benson." She sat on the couch. "So, what now?"
Out of boredom, I said, "Wanna make paper chains?"
"As much as that sounds dorky, sure." She stated. "Go get paper, if you please."
"Yes, Princess Puckett." I smirked at her before getting up and getting paper.
~1 hour later~
"Hey Frednub, what time does that party start again?" Sam asked, finishing our 10 foot paper chain.
"Um, in 2 hours. But it takes one hour to get there, so we should get ready." I stood up and took her hand so I could help her up. "Remember, dress formal. It's our high school get together."
"Yeah, yeah whateves." She disappeared inside her room.
I walked to my bedroom and dressed up in a nice black tux. I walked to the bathroom and put my hair up in a quiff, and on my way out I saw Sam in the most gorgeous thing I ever saw her wear… so far. (A/N the dress Jennette wore in 2011 KCA. One of those dresses. Use your imagination. (: You pick. :D ) "Sam, uh… you look… you look nice."
She just ignored me and went to the bathroom, curled her hair, and done her makeup. "Alright, Benson, let's get going."
I drove to where our get together was going to be in and looked around. "We're here." I informed Sam. She got out of the car, and looked around too. Her eyes landed on a certain brunette.
"Carlotta!" She yelled across the parking lot. She and her went to go hug, while Carly's boyfriend was just staring at them, smiling. Yeah, he came along. "How are you, kid?"
"I'm good, you? And, you look hot," She smiled.
"You're not so bad yourself, Ms. Shay." They laughed together. "Man, c'mon, let's go in."
The girls went into the building. I was about to go in, too, but Carly's boyfriend stopped me. "Hey Freddie."
"Wassup, Nate." I shook his hand.
"So, how's it going?" Nate asked me.
"I'm fine, actually." I said, not really paying attention to what he was saying.
"Have you hit on Sam yet?"
Well, that caught my attention. "What?"
"You know," Nate raised his eyebrows. "Did you ask Sam out yet? Or at least, are you guys dating?"
"What? No! We used to date but… but…"
"Surely you still like her, right?" He asked. What a nosy boy.
"Uh… I uh… I g—" I said, but got interrupted.
"Gibbeh!" Gibby shouted, tackling me. I almost fell to the ground.
"Hey, what's up, Gib?" I asked, and looked around for Nate, who was nowhere to be seen. "Let's go inside."
The place was crowded and full of people. I saw some of my old friends from high school. Well, classmates, at least. Oh, look, there's Carly and Sam. Gibby and I went up to them. "Hey." The Gibster and I said.
"Gibby, nice to see you again!" Sam then Carly told him. Carly's eyes went to me. "Freddie, can I talk to you for a second?"
I raised an eyebrow in confusion, but shrugged my shoulders and followed her to a table that was away from everyone else. "Okay, what's up?"
"I'm just going out on a limb here. Do you like Sam?" Carly asked me.
"Well, yeah, of course I like Sam."
"No, do you like like Sam? More than a friend?" She asked once again.
I sighed, contemplating on whether telling Carly. Well, there's no point in keeping it a secret. She'll find out sooner or later. "Y-yes…" I answered truthfully.
Carly's mouth formed a grin. "Ahhhhhh! I knew you still liked her! When are you going to ask her out again? What's happened? When will you start dating again? Where will your date be? How are you going to ask her? Are you going to marry her? Can you picture life without her? Do you love her? Do—"
"Carly, will you stop asking questions?" I groaned.
"Fine, but you have to tell Sam."
"No! Well, at least not now, you know?"
"No, I don't know." She shook her head. "Just. Tell. Her." She grabbed my arm, forcing me to stand up. She started pushing me towards Sam who was dancing on the dance floor. Carly suddenly disappeared.
The music changed from an up tempo song to a slow song. Where you have to dance. Oh chizz. Carly didn't—
"Hello my former classmates!" Carly's voice boomed throughout the room. "This will be a slow song, so everyone has to dance with someone. Or else I will pour grape juice all over you." Oh yeah, did I mention Carly planned this party? Well yeah, she did. So she can basically tell us to do anything.
When I looked around, everyone was taken except for Sam, who was awkwardly standing alone on the dance floor. Carly was with her boyfriend, dancing to the song. She glared at both me and Sam, and she revealed a bottle of grape juice in her hand. She mouthed the words, 'Freddie. With Sam, now.'
When I wouldn't get closer to Sam, she and her boyfriend broke away, and she was approaching me while opening the bottle of grape juice. I suddenly walked up to Sam and grabbed her waist from behind, and twirled her around to face me. Her eyes widened when I took her hand and I put my other hand on her waist while her hand went up to my shoulder.
Carly smiled happily and went back to dancing with her boyfriend comfortably.
But, Sam and I, we weren't very… comfortable.
"Uh… I had to dance with you so Carly wouldn't pour grape juice on me. And you." I whispered near her ear, attempting to start a conversation.
"Oh." Was all she could muster. She was pressed up entirely against me, so I could feel her heartbeat racing.
"Why so nervous, Puckett?" I teased with a smirk plastered on my face.
Her brows furrowed, and her hand left mine for a brief moment before slapping me hard on the arm. "Shut up, nub. I could feel your heartbeat too. And it's beating waaay faster than mine. So, I think the question is, why are you so nervous?"
"I'm not nervous," I lied. I really wanted to say, 'because I'm dancing with the girl of my dreams.' But I couldn't. It's too soon.
"Yeah, sure you aren't." She said sarcastically, still dancing to the beat of the music.
Unfortunately, the music ended all too soon and Sam and I had to break away and share awkward smiles with each other. We said goodbye to our old classmates, before walking over to my car.
"Had a good time, Princess Puckett?" I interrogated when we entered our apartment. I turned the lights on.
"Eh. It was fine. The dancing part with you wasn't fun though. You kept stepping on me." She answered, taking her heels off and putting it on the shoe rack.
"Pffft. I never stepped on you. You kept stepping on me purposefully for whatever reason!"
"Oh, hah, you're right." She said, smiling deviously. She and I got ready for bed. "Okay, wel, g'night, Benson."
I smiled. "Goodnight, Puckett." Suddenly, a loud crash of thunder echoed outside. Rain started to pour heavily. I saw Sam flinch. "Sam? Are you alright?"
"Huh? Oh, uh, yeah, just fine I um—" BOOM! The thunder sounded again. I saw her flinch under the sound of thunder.
"Are… are you afraid of storms?" I asked, smiling a bit. It's nice to know the tough Sam Puckett had a weakness.
"Yeah… kind of. I just need someone or something to comfort me so I could—" BOOM! "Calm down."
I felt sorry for her a little. Maybe I should… I shouldn't… but she needs to… but… no… yes. "You can come sleep with me if you want…" I offered. Her eyes lit up and she nodded. I smiled my crooked smile and led her to my room. I laid down on my bed and she laid down next to me. We were both on our sides, facing each other. I turned my bedside lamp off, and tried to sleep. But I couldn't, Sam kept flinching at the sound of thunder. I should probably…
"It's gonna be fine, Sam, trust me." I comforted her, sliding my left arm over her waist and pulling her close to me.
She put her arm around me, and snuggled her head to my chest. "I know." She sighed. "You better not tell anyone about this, Benson, or else I will kill you."
I chuckled. "I won't, promise." When I felt her flinch again, I held her tighter against me. "Why are you so afraid of storms, anyway?"
"Because…" I saw her close her eyes really tight, before relaxing her eyelids again. "It reminded me of how my dad would abuse me." I was surprised; Sam didn't really talk about her dad very much. "Every time there was a storm, he would start pulling on my hair, and hit me with some hard object. He told me he hurt me because I ruined his life. He got Mom pregnant when it was storming, so he would hurt me every time it stormed. Because he said it was the day I ruined his life. Mom never knew about it. And I couldn't tell her because Dad would threaten to kill me. Then he left. He left and I never cared. He hurt me. You're not supposed to hurt a child." Tears streamed down her face.
"Sam, it's alright. I'm here." I comforted her again, holding her even tighter against me. I was holding her for warmth and protection. She really needed someone right now.
"I know. I even got a scar one time." I pulled away to look at her.
"Where…?"
"My arm… my dad got a knife one time and sliced my skin. It's not very big, it's around 2 inches. He did that to me when he got fired. It was the day before he abandoned us."
"Sam… I'm so sorry." I comforted her once again, touching the scar on her arm. I felt a sudden urge to kiss her, just one kiss. I don't care if it's on her forehead, just one kiss, because Sam never felt love from her dad.
"He hated me Freddie. He hated me and Melanie. But luckily, Melanie got into boarding school before the torture happened. I felt so alone… But at least I met you and Carls. Both of you made me feel safe." She held me tighter. We were probably suffocating each other, but that doesn't matter. I want her to feel safe and loved.
"It's alright… I'm here for you." I did it. I kissed her forehead and wiped her tears away with my thumbs, before putting my arm around her again.
I felt her smile against my chest, and it made me smile too. "Thanks, Freddie. For everything."
She drifted off to sleep, no longer caring about the storm going on outside.
Aw, now wasn't that sweet? :D
And, I have made this chapter the longest chapter in this story… so far.
