Teen Titans - Surprise
Raven and Beastboy Chapter 9
Beautiful Tragedy
A/N: I love you all! Thanks for the support!
Beast Boy's POV
Calmness and I walked together holding hands to the main room. She hadn't quit talking, which was highly unusual, "they most likely haven't combined again beside they want to make as much trouble as possible. Of course, if they were combined we'd have a true problem seeing as we can't form Pure yet." Finally, she froze as our gazes turned to the couch where Starfire stood before us holding her baby. Robin was behind her and all of the Ravens were gathered around as well. Star looked up and smiled, "her name is StarShine." She carefully pulled the blanket back for me to see black hairs already on her orange head. She looked so beautiful.
Raven came closer and smiled, holding her arms out and Star got the message. She glanced around as Calmness took her child. "Are we ever going to see you complete again?" Raven's lip quivered and she nodded, "I want this. I have to... I want this feeling, but it'll be stronger with my own." My eyes went wide as I saw Calmness get so upset over StarShine. As she handed her back to her mother she turned, "let's get this over with." Her arms crossed as she looked to the rest of the Ravens. "You said you got all of them but Rage..." –she froze- "No, you don't have Dead Zone, you don't have black. I mean, I know she's actually Nothing, but you could have at least tried to get her. Purity needs her to be almost complete, even if we don't have Rage." Where the hell would Nothing be? Another realization hit me. Raven had had a black cloak before… Does that mean? I shook my head and turned, "I'll go check your room again. Maybe she's in there."
When the door slid open I looked around in the darkness. Not seeing anything I almost left, but she has a black cloak so it would be harder to see her in here. Slowly I began to walk through her room, looking around. That when I noticed someone shivering in the corner, and now I could hear that she was muttering something as if in a trance. When I got closer her head shot up and she stared off as her eyes glowed, "they're together." My eyes went wide, she had to be taking about Rage. I quickly picked her up and carried her as she shivered. As the doors opened all of the Ravens looked at me with glowing eyes. This couldn't be good.
All of them walked toward me, even Sloth, and placed their hands on Nothing before a flash of light filled the room. Cy, Star, Robin, and I froze as the wind whisk around, like there was a tornado in the middle of the room. A gray hand slid through the vortex slowly, but the hand was that of a giants'. Slowly her massive head grew up from the swirl breeze, and then my eyes landed on the white fabric cloaking her form as she broke through the roof like it was nothing. She flew into the sky, larger than I'd ever seen Elasti-Girl ever be. That's when my eyes shot to another huge figure coming in her direction.
This was not just Raven. Horns were protruding from her head, wrapping around to form a crown. Her skin was a blood red along with her four eyes. Somehow the glowing marks on her body still managed to stand out against the red tone. Her hair had grown into a mane on both of the giants, but on Rage it had changed to a deep red. It was like Raven was going to fight her demons, literally.
I clenched my fists, not just wanting to stand here, "You can do this Raven. I love you, all of you no matter what!" I wasn't sure if she heard me, there wasn't any reaction, but then I was blinded by the light of her power, and then there was nothing.
We all froze when we looked up. Nothing. It was like once their power touched they formed again. If that were true she had to be somewhere. I ran to the edge of the building and looked around, "RAVEN! Raven!" I couldn't go through this again. No, I wouldn't go through this again. Not losing another woman I care about. But, Raven is different. I don't just care about her. I love her, I'd die for her… I'd do anything to make sure she would be okay. A tear rolled down my cheek as I looked at my friends, "we have to find her. Please… She couldn't have just disappeared." I bit my lip, tired of this undying pain this woman caused me. I knew her was a risky match, but I still went after her. A smirk crossed my lips, I've loved her for years before our relationship started to be romantic. She even looked out for me with Terra. Everything that she did, she did to help me.
My hands ran through my hair as I stared out at the crashing waters. She couldn't really be gone. This couldn't be happening again. I jumped into the air, transforming into a bird and flying over the harsh waters. It was like they were angry as well. My gaze shifted from the sea to the shore quickly as I saw a white cloak flapping in the breeze. When I got to it I grabbed the fabric and looked around, frustrated that that's all it was. "Raven! RAVEN! Raven…?" I looked around, my brows pressing together as I hooked it around my shoulders and pulled the hood up. Where the hell had she gone? The fight made her complete again and her cloak was perfectly fine, and still white. That had to mean something. Didn't it?
As I walked along the beach Starfire flew down beside me and I shook my head. This feeling is a horrible feeling, an indescribable feeling that I wouldn't wish on anyone. I difficultly wouldn't wish it on them twice.
We returned to the tower after searching all night. When we came inside Aqualid stood in the center of the room with his arms cross and wearing an apron. "I found someone in the sea that might belong to you. Also, I made soup. She's freezing to death, her breathing is shallow, and she's unconscious. I'm not sure if anything else is wrong with her though… Not a doctor."
All I could do was stand there. He found her in the sea. He saved her. He saved her! I couldn't save the woman I love from drowning. I pulled her cloak from around my shoulders and slid it around hers. "Thank you." I glanced at him and nodded, he smiled. "You'd do the same for me if I needed your help." He was correct. I guess I shouldn't get mad about him saving her. I was happy to see her. As I pulled her into my arms she quickly grabbed hold of my shirt and pressed her head into my chest. "She kept doing that as well, but she was whispering something earlier. Not sure what."
My fingers slid through her hair as I put her down on her bed. Her suit was ripped in a few pieces, so I could see her pale skin through the rips. She looked so beautiful all the time. Slowly I breathed into her mouth before pulling her into my arms to have her closer. I began to kiss over her cheeks and down her throat, holding her closer. My hold on her loosened as she began to lift up into the air. She had to be healing herself. I curled up and stared at her, "so beautiful. I hope you'll be okay after this." I felt completely usually to her in this state. Everything about her was beautiful though.
I cleared my throat, "Raven, you remember the first time we met? Yeah, you probably do. I know I do. I replay the first time I saw you over and over in my mind all the time. That big black raven flashing before my eyes, and then turning to see you standing there so harmless. I'm sorry I called your powers creepy that time. The true is I was jealous about just how much you could do. You even protected me, and you laughed at my jokes. Damn… I must have gotten really annoying after that seeing as I was always bugging you." He snorted before reaching up and grabbing her hand, holding it tight. "I guess we've always protected each other in battle no matter what now that I think about it. You were the one that normally had my back. I don't think I could continue this life without you now that you've been there for me for so long." I squeezed her hand. "Please, please, get better and make it through this. I love you so much to lose you in this type of tragedy."
After a while I fell asleep in that awkward position. My arm went numb, but I didn't let go. I'd never let go of her ever again. The first time she hugged me flashed into my mind and I blushed, upset with myself for not returning the simple action. Of course, before I could say a word I got smacked in the face. Cyborg had a way of interrupting important things sometimes it seemed. All that filled my mind right now was Raven. Maybe a few thought of waffles as well, but mostly her and the hope she'd get through this.
A/N: I hope everyone enjoyed it. I've already thought up the next chapter so hopefully it'll be out quicker than the most resist. Wanted this out on Labor day, but I'm too late. Anyways, happy Saturday! Thanks for reading! Please review and tell me your thoughts. Also, favorite and follow. It's always nice to show the love 3
