Koi
I woke silently with a slight groan as I looked at my hands.
'Damn…..I overdid it again' I thought as I looked at my hands which were covered in cuts and blood.
'Yes, you did. So much so, that you were caught by that nasod girl and you know the laws' Osiris lectured as I groaned again but slightly louder this time.
'Did I mark her last night or does she still have a chance' I asked as Osiris appeared next to me in human form.
He was the same height as me with short, wild teal-blue hair. He had a cracked mask on the left side of his face which only covered his left eye; giving it a fearful appearance. He had tan skin and was pretty well-built in the muscle department. His eyes were silver and his fangs poked out from his upper lip even with his mouth closed.
He wore a black trench-coat that trailed all the way down to his feet with a grey tank top underneath. He had his hands in his black cargo pants with the chain trailing from the front belt loop to his back pocket while the bottoms were stuffed inside his black combat boots. A silver dog tag around his neck with the Egyptian symbol for his name stood out the most against the dark ensemble.
'No, I managed to get you home before you remembered that particular law' Osiris said; his deep voice reverberating in the dark tent.
"Ugh, you know the rules Osiris; you have to stay in human form. Otherwise more accidents may just happen to occur" I groaned as my head throbbed at the mess I was in.
'Fine; but for the record, I don't really like being in scythe form….it's uncomfortable and makes my back hurt' He groaned before shifting back to his scythe form which impaled itself in the ground before me. I popped my neck before slipping my injured hands into my pockets and walking off towards the camp's nurse who sighed as I walked in.
"Messed up your hands again?" she asked as I nodded and pulled my hands out of my pockets.
That was the price of using Osiris' overwhelming power; a shortened life-span and more injuries anyone could wish for. That was the reason he was sealed within a scythe; he was a danger to himself and others as long as he ran rampant with that feral, uncontrollable power. She sat me down and washed the cuts before walking off to get the gauze and some bandages.
"Why you won't tell anyone what you keep doing to get these injuries is beyond me, but I suppose you believe it's better if none of us know; is that right?" she asked as I winced while the gauze covered bandages were being applied.
"Oh well; no matter. You're all fixed up just try to not get messed up that badly again, please. I'll run out of bandages at some point, you know" she said with a slight chuckle as I grinned and walked out of her tent.
Scratching the back of my head, I walked back to my tent to get dressed.
Soon, I was dressed in a trench coat similar to Osiris' except mine had a blood-red trim. I wore a black long sleeve shirt underneath and navy blue half-finger gloves. I put on a simple pair of black shoes before I grabbed Osiris and hefted him over my shoulder while slipping my free hand into my dark grey jeans.
'You okay going without the bandages today?' I asked.
'Do what you will; just don't expect me to bail you out if you get in trouble' He responded as I grinned.
Ready to leave, I walked out of the tent before I felt something hit my chest. I quickly reached down and grabbed the person before they hit the ground. I looked down to see just the person I was about to go hunt down.
"Hello, Eve" I said as she looked up at me.
"Good Morning Koi, I wish to speak with you in private; is that to your liking?" she asked as I simply nodded and stepped back so she could enter the tent.
Kage
"Kage, time to wake up~" I heard a singsong voice call. I groggily opened my eyes to see a certain blonde-haired elf standing over me dressed in a maid's outfit with a plate of food in her hands.
"Huh, what's this about?" I asked sleepily, gesturing at her outfit and the food.
"This is to thank you for all you've done for me; so today I'm your personal servant, Master" she said with a slight blush as she bowed towards me.
I groaned and rolled out of my hammock, dressed only in my boxers as I shuffled off to the small bag which carried all my belongings.
"Your tent is so bare; it barely has anything in it except for this table, your bed, and that bag. How come you don't have any personal stuff; to decorate your tent, Master?" she asked; keeping up with the maid persona by adding the word 'Master' at the end.
"Because I don't have any personal stuff; just a set of spare clothes in this bag" I responded as I slipped into blood-red shorts and some sneakers with a metal plate on them.
Rena
"Because I don't have any personal stuff; just a set of spare clothes in this bag" he said with some hidden sadness in his voice. My eyes widened at that when I thought back. Even Raven; with how emotionless he seemed had at least some personal items. Yet, Kage didn't even have a single one.
"Well, we're going to have to change that!" I said breaking out of my maid persona.
He slipped into a lighter red long-sleeve T-shirt and looked at me confused.
"Come on!" I said, grabbing him by the arm and dragging him to my tent.
Kage
As we entered her tent I still pondered why she dragged me here.
"Sit here and just wait for a moment" she said, gesturing at a chair and table in the center of the tent. The tent itself was similar yet extremely different from my own; standardized tent. Hers had pictures decorating the canvassed walls along with a few stuffed animals here and there. Her bed in the corner looked like some little kid had gotten ahold of various shades of green markers and went wild on the sheets, pillows, and blanket.
Rena herself had disappeared behind a curtain which I assume is what served as her 'dressing room' while she had guests. After about 10 minutes, she walked out in her usual clothes minus her bow which hung near the door and sword that lay beside her bed now that I looked around for them.
"Ok, get up; we're taking you shopping with everybody else" she said as she dragged me along. I sighed and snapped my fingers, causing my sword to appear on my back as we rushed off to gather everybody else.
Koi
"You wished to speak with me?" I asked as Eve took a seat; using her drones as a chair. I leaned against the tent wall and looked at her as she seemed to steady herself before inhaling deeply.
"What is this?" she asked as lifted up her sleeve to reveal a dark, blood-red heart on the inside of her wrist.
I sighed and scratched the back of my head nervously.
"You will speak of this to no one, am I clear?" I said as she nodded slowly.
Annnnnnnd; Cliffhanger! Thought this would be a good place to torture my readers by ending the chapter here XP Anyways, if you enjoyed it; great! If you didn't go ahead and say so in the reviews (preferably without cussing me out in the process but, if you feel the need to; to make sure your point gets across feel free as long as I don't get any 'I know where you live, Chaos –cue evil laughter-' type threats.) See y'all soon!
