Wooo man. I'm really happy with how this chapter turned out. It's kind off a hype builder but whatever, hype is always nice.

Review Responce time: Keldabe- Yeah, I noticed that after I posted it. The things you miss lol. I'll be building on the Resistance and their motives, but I think it's interesting how you don't trust them. Thanks for reviewing.

Susasoldier- Thanks as well for pointing that out for me, it was a big help :). The name thing was something that I had to put in after, it didn't make sense to have them call each other by new names. You think the Resistance might be allies, maybe they will? (But for who?) And yes, I do like Eevee's evolutions, but I can't have them all in the story. It's actually a part of the story, seeing that Eevee has a slightly unstable genetic makeup. Thank you for reviewing.

Alright now for the question of the chapter! Who do you think the black mass in Ruby's dream is? Review if you have time, I really love reading what others think about the story!

Night's point of view

"Night, open your eyes, you're back in your mind." Spoke a male voice in my head. I didn't even feel like I had fallen asleep but when I complied and opened my eyes I found that I was back in that white landscape. The dark moon that hovered in the white sky still waited ominously and the grass was still as blank as paper.

As my brain clicked I recalled the voice "Azelf?"

"You got it." Responded the legendary. I turned my head to see the small blue Pokémon floating a few feet off the ground with his arms crossed "I'm glad that you made it to Pewter in one piece."

"I am too." Replied yours truly with a smirk before saying "So what do you want from me, you said you'd tell me once I got to Pewter city. I wanna know what the legendries think I can do."

Azelf shrugged "I wouldn't say all the legendary Pokémon think you can do it… but I'm rooting for you at least."

"And what is this thing I need to do?"

The blue Pokémon sighed and suddenly got very serious "I… Night…" he paused "Arceus was attacked by the Johto dog trio a little over a month ago and was wounded very badly." His amber eyes looked down at the grass

"She's going to die if someone doesn't do anything."

I took a moment to take it all in. Azelf was telling me something that was of vital importance, something that was bigger than me… so why was I being involved? "I'm sorry about that Azelf… but what can I do? Anything that I can do you and any other legendary Pokémon can do better."

"That's the thing Night… what we need is something only a normal Pokémon can get, something that is in the champion's chamber at the elite four… something that legendary Pokémon can't get." He looked at me "I know this is a lot to take in and believe me when I say I don't want to ask you to do this. You are in every way a normal Pokémon… but Mewtwo saw something in you."

I was shocked. Taking a step back I struggled to say "Why would Mewtwo-"

"I don't know Night, but he trusts you for some reason. He's a complicated guy, being a creation of Team Rocket isn't something you can just forget." Azelf got closer to me "All you need to know is that Arceus can only be saved by a normal Pokémon, someone like you Night."

A bizarre anger rose up in my chest. Who was this little legendary talking to? He was telling me to give up my life to save Arceus. I looked to the ground in an attempt to conceal my rising fury "Why can't you just go to the champion's Pokémon? Why not go to powerful trainers?"

"Red and Blue are not options." Replied Azelf.

I went blank, I had no idea what he was talking about "Who are they?"

The blue pixie waved a hand "Not important… I'm just telling you what we… what they want me to tell you." He smiled "I'll be with you the whole way. If there's anything you can't handle I'll jump in."

The weight of the situation pushed out my anger as I settled with myself "You really are serious huh?"

"It's literally the life of Arceus on the line Night, of course I'm serious."

I sighed and smirked "Well, if there's ever gonna be someone who needs the absolute badassery needed to save a god… it's going to be me."

Azelf smiled back "And that's probably why Mewtwo chose you." He sighed "Well I have to get going… oh, and remember to not tell anyone about me and what's going on with Arceus. I'll tell you all the details later but until I have permission to I want you to keep everyone out of the loop… especially Ruby."

I raised a brow at that one "Why did you single out Ruby?"

"I didn't." Sounded Azelf "Mew did." He shrugged, "I guess he thinks there's something important about her."

Espeon's point of view

"I know that you're smart Requiem, so I won't waste your time trying to convince you that this is just a dream."

Blinking I recalled the last thing I saw before I was put in this state was the soft grass that I was resting on and assumed that this was indeed a dream. I took a glance around at what appeared to be a medium sized white grey room with no way in or out.

I frowned at the sight before me, knowing that my mind was playing tricks on me "I know that that isn't you Jane."

The Leafeon that materialized before me was the spitting image of her, or at least what my brain remembered of her. She was much to perfect, her bandana around her neck was too pure of a red and there was no depth to her face, no real life.

"Come on Requiem, listen to me. You can trust what I say." Sounded the Leafeon with a smile.

"This is a waste of time." I said quickly "This is a dream… but-"

"But why are you still in it if you realized it?" asked Jane… or what appeared to be Jane.

"That's a very good question." I said quietly "Who are you."

The Leafeon before me smiled "Come on… I'm Jane, you know that."

"If that's true why does your bandanna suddenly have white polka dots?

Jane when silent and her face went blank "You are much too smart for your own good Requiem."

I flinched a bit "Don't call me that…It's quite clear that you aren't her and I'm starting to think that this isn't a dream." I etched a frown onto my face "You wouldn't have anything to do with g-"

"A lot more that you'd think, but not as much as you might hope… this has become a waste of time though Requiem."

I gritted my teeth "Stop calling me that."

The thing posing as Jane smiled "What's wrong. I would think that it might remind you of a time when you were stronger, when you were important."

"I'm stronger now than I ever was then." Something came to mind "If this isn't a dream… then how do you know all of this information about me?"

Jane's face slowly curled into a smile. The corners of her mouth swooped up far past her cheekbones and her eyes flashed with a bright blue "The king of nightmares knows all and gives strength to whoever he pleases Requiem."

She licked her lips- "You would do well to remember that when you face the Umbreon."

My mind raced with the new information I was given "You… wouldn't happen to be Darkrai?

Jane's face continued to curl into unnatural shapes "You think you're important enough to get a visit from Darkrai?" she chuckled

"Maybe you are as righteous as you think you are."

Night's point of view

"Night-"

"Mmm…"

"Night, time to get up. We've got a gym to battle."

My eyes creaked open letting the rays of light from the sun seep into my vision. The only thing I could make out were the red cheeks of the Pikachu that stood over me "Gooda mornin' Spark."

The scarfed Pikachu sighed "Good morning Night, you sleep okay?"

I stretch my muscles like a feline "Oh yes…, very interesting dreams." I looked around the room "Where's Jack?"

Spark jumped off the bed that I didn't even realize I was on "Getting his Pokémon some food because he's a good trainer." He adjusted his scarf "Unless you're still in the mood to run away to the forest again."

"Did you just use sarcasm?"

He shrugged "I'd call it wit."

I smirked "You've convinced me to stay for the moment. I don't hate you or Jack and my sister's here." I gave a loud yawn as I stumbled off the bed. The soft carpet felt good under my paws, much better than the damp dirt of the woods "Plus I get free food."

"Not free." Sounded Spark "Earned. This is going to be a rough gym for me. We should only have to fight two opponents, but I'll be almost completely useless for both." His eyes lit up "Which means you'll have to pick up the slack."

I started to walk around the room "Are you serious? I'm three for three on getting knocked unconscious during battles."

"I know, but you're an Umbreon. They're surprisingly resilient, you just have to tap into that innate ability." Spark's eyes flashed "I have an idea. What if I give you a little endurance training?"

"You got my attention." I said calmly "But how?"

Spark took a step towards me "Simple, this is gonna be a gym where most of the attacks are going to be physical so what do you think of me punching you to see how many hits you can take?"

"I say no." Was he serious, that was the worst plan I had heard in a long time "What if I-"

Before I could finish a quick jab nailed me in the jaw, but it surprisingly didn't hurt all that much "What the Mew Spark?"

"Did that hurt?" he asked confidently.

"N-no…" I replied.

"See, that would have knocked the wind out of Ion. But since you're an Umbreon you can take it." Responded the mouse "Now that doesn't mean you shouldn't try to dodge attacks, that's basically all I do, but if you ever can't you know that you might be able to take it."

Our little training session was interrupted by a knock on the door, a knock that was much lower than a human would be at.

"Who do you think that is?" I asked.

"Can't be Jack," sounded Spark as he stode over to the door "He had a key."

The Pikachu turned the handle and opened the door and upon seeing who it was he smiled "Ruby, good morning."

My ears perked up at the sight of the grayish Vulpix. I was at the point where I was trying to avoid her due to her sudden anger at me while on the road, but apparently she could stomach being in the same room after a day.

"Good morning Spark." She glanced at me "Night, I need to talk to you."

Fear came up in my throat "Oh?"

"Yeah." She said sternly "Spark, some privacy?"

'Oh crap, she's gonna kill me.' I thought as Spark nodded and left the room.

"I- I already apologized for what I said on the road, I didn't know your fur meant so much to you." I started to back away from her "Seriously I didn't-"

"It's not about that you idiot." Spoke the vixen as she walked to me "It's about something that I think you might know."

Thoughts swirled around in my head 'There's no way she knows about Azelf… how could she?'

The Vuplix sighed "Night I had a really bad nightmare last night and I've been getting them for the past few weeks…"

I frowned "Sorry to hear that, but what does that have to do with me?"

"That's the thing." Answered Ruby before pausing to look me straight in the eye-

"You've been in all of them."

Ruby's point of view, the night before

"Not again… not this dream again." Anger seethed in my body as I eyed the object of my discontent "Stop doing this to me?"

The dark ball of matter before me seemed to smile, even without a mouth. Its devilish red eyes glared at me with intensity and pleasure "What's wrong thief? Tired of seeing your victim?" She thinned her eyes out "You make me sick."

My teeth clenched "Stop that. I'm no thief and I've never done anything to you!

"But you have, the mere fact that I'm looking at you proves it." Replied the monster "But it matters not." The beast contorted itself into the form of an Umbreon "Remember me Ruby?"

I frowned "I know you're not that moron Umbreon."

"How would you know?" asked the creature as it changed its voice to fit the Umbreon I had met the day before "What if I called your fur stupid."

My anger took over me and in a fit of rage I jumped forward and grabbed the Umbreon by the neck "Night doesn't have blue eyes you imbecile."

"You're being violent again, is that what you'll do when you find that Purrloin… what's her name? Dawn?"

I threw the Umbreon to the ground "How do you know about me, I've never even met you!

The Umbreon laughed "And the best part is this isn't even a dream." He paused "I bet you'll kill her."

"I won't."

The Umbreon shook its head "No, you'll do it. You can't control yourself. You'll kill her and feel no remorse just like you feel no remorse for stealing from me."

"What do you think I stole from you that demands visits every night?!" I shouted in fury.

The Umbreon deformed into the black ball of matter with large red eyes. She zoomed into my face and spoke with a voice of pure hatred.

"Everything."
