Chapter 9: Coming Clean

Tamora was walking down the hall, when Blake came up to her. "Hey hot stuff," he greeted winking at her.

"Go away Blake," Tamora said firmly.

"Oh don't be so mean sweets, I just wanted to tell you, you have the honor of going with me to the prom," Blake said.

"And why would I go with you?" Tamora asked.

"Because I rock, so wear something sexy, and I will pick you up say seven and maybe, after we can go somewhere, and have a bit more fun," he said, looking her up and down, like a vulture would do if they saw a dead animal.

"Sorry, Blake I wouldn't go to the prom with you, even if you were the last guy in school. Besides I am going with someone else," Tamora told him.

"Oh yeah, who?" Blake asked, a scowl forming on his face. Tamora bit her lip, trying to come up with someone. Just then she saw Felix walking up to them and said, "I am going with Felix".

"You are going where with me, Tamora?" Felix asked, standing beside her.

"You are taking her to the prom?" Blake hissed.

"I am?" Felix asked in a shocked voice. He was thinking about going with Ralph, Melanie, Daisy and Tamora, as a group. That way no one felt left out.

"Yeah you are," Tamora said looking down at him with hopeful eyes. Felix soon looked from Blake to Tamora and realized what must have happened. Blake must have told Tamora, she was going to the prom with him and she didn't want to go with Blake. So, she probably said she was going with him to get Blake off her back.

"Oh, um yeah, I am," Felix said, thanking his good fortune that he didn't ask another girl to go with him, before finding Tamora.

"I see," Blake said dangerously. Then a creepy smile spread on his face. "Okay, if that is what you want Tamora, see you later then," Blake said and walked away.

"Okay, that was weird," Felix said.
"Sorry, I wanted to ask you before Blake showed up, but well, I guess you saw what happened," Tamora said blushing.

"Yeah, hey it is cool, I was hoping we could go as friends, anyways," Felix said smiling.

"Actually Felix, I was hoping we could go as something else," Tamora said biting her lip.

"What do you mean?" he asked looking confused. Before he knew it, she grabbed him by the collar and kissed him. His eyes went wide but soon eased in.

"I mean I want to be your girlfriend," she whispered smiling at him.

"Okay," he said with honeyglows all over his cheeks.

"Well I have to get to class see you later, pint sized," she said winking at him. Felix was walking on cloud nine all the way to class.

Melanie was sitting next to Tamora, and the blonde wanted to tell her about that night at the bowling alley.

"You heard everything," Melanie asked, feeling shocked and worried.

"I am sorry, I was looking for you and I overheard. I don't care if Felix was a janitor or any of that stuff. I just had to tell you that I know and I am okay with it," Tamora said.

"Please, you can't tell Felix, or Ralph or even Vanellope. Vanellope is young that she may not remember, but Ralph and Felix will be so embarrassed," Melanie said.

"Hey, I am not saying anything," Tamora promised. Melanie gave a sigh of relief when she said that. "Yet, I think you are being a tad hard on Keith, he seems nice," Tamora said.

"He is Turbo's cousin and just as bad," Melanie hissed.

"No, he only defends his cousin but he seems to really like you. I noticed he is different from Turbo. He never starts fights with Felix or Ralph; in fact he did try to tell Turbo to stop after that game. Also, apologized to you," Tamora said.

"So, what he is still an obnoxious creep," Melanie said firmly.

"Okay, but you are treating him like everyone did Ralph. Everyone thought Ralph was a trouble maker, for his size, where he came from and other stuff. You are judging Keith by who he hangs out with. That doesn't sound very fair to me," Tamora told her. Melanie just glared at her but knew Tamora was right.

"You are right, maybe I could give him a chance, one chance," she said firmly. Tamora smiled and the two girls went to work on their assignment.

Ralph and Felix were heading to their lockers, when Keith stopped them. "I come in peace," Keith said holding up both hands.

"What do you want?" growled Ralph.

"I came to apologize on behalf of my cousin for that um incident a while back," Keith said blushing. He knew Felix and Ralph may not like him, but he wanted to show Melanie that he wasn't like Blake.

"Which time?" Ralph asked still glaring at Keith.

"The um basketball incident," Keith explained. "What my cousin said was inexcusable and I know he won't say he is sorry, so I will. Ralph, you are a great guy and I know life wasn't easy for you. You take great care of Vanellope and do a lot for Felix and Melanie's mom. Felix, you are a hard worker and a good son and brother. I am so sorry for what Blake said, please forgive him, he can be a real jerk sometimes," Keith said.

"Well, thank you for the apology," Felix said.

"Too bad Turbo can't apologize," Ralph muttered. Keith knew that was as good as he would get from them. So, he nodded his head and left them, to head to his locker.

On his way he bumped into Melanie. "Melanie, hi," Keith said blushing.

"I saw what you did; I will give you a chance to prove to me that you are not like Blake. If you fail, I will never trust nor talk to you ever again, is that understood?" she asked.

"Yes, so will you go to the prom with me?" Keith asked smiling.

"Sure, I will meet you at the school, see you then," she said and walked away. Keith smiled and couldn't believe his luck. He would show Melanie he was different, Prom Night would be his chance to show Melanie, that he loved her.
