You guys are so great. Can I just say that? Thank you all who read this, you don't understand how happy I am when I see someone new has followed me or favorited me or even just read it. Thank you thank you thank you.
Karkat broke his gaze from the racing greenery to see that his captive had fallen asleep along the ride, "Oh you lazy bastard. How do you even fall asleep on this bumpy ride?" The only response the troll received was a moan of annoyance as the outside voice invaded Dave's dreams, but it was quickly dissipated when the Knight of Time fell back into his dream world. Karkat listened to the ragged breathing and felt a twinge run down his back at the sight before him but tried to divert his mind from the sinful thoughts that threatened to plaque his mind. Even with this in mind the Knight of Blood leaned his head close to the warmth of his enemy and breathed in the blonde locks and exhaled onto the pale neck that was so inviting to the touch. "Why is it that I don't want to kill you? To bite out your throat and feel that crimson beauty roll over my tongue? What have you done to me?" Karkat struggled with these thoughts before he came to the conclusion, he couldn't show anymore weakness. This human was just another body and nothing more so the sooner he could dispose of this distraction the sooner he could get back to his known way of life.
Karkat leaned closer to the pale neck and placed a small peck on the skin, his reward being the thump of a blood vesicle and the reminder of his killer ways erupting through his subconscious. A gasp was let out of his grey lips and the Knight of Blood quickly leaned back on his horse before his title got the better of him. The sudden movement on Karkat's part caused Dave to snap from his grim remembrance of the past and slowly break one of his crimson eyes open to look out to the woods.
Night would soon fall and an eerie calm had fallen along the trees, everything watching the warriors as they dashed along the earth towards their final destination. Trees had leaned in close to each other, as if passing a whisper about the two while the flowers that littered the earth desperately tried to listen in on the secrets shared between the elders of the forest. Dave found this rather unsettling and turned his attention to the charcoaled mane that swayed slightly with each movement of the horse he rode on. After staring for a long while at each hair, Dave cautioned a glance back at his captor, the throbbing in his head not quite dying down yet. To his surprise Karkat actually looked rather relaxed at the moment, seeming to keep his attention poised on the road. However, Dave was trained in reading expressions, after all that was one of the jobs of a knight was to read your opponent and use their weakness against them, so when he saw a slight troubling cloud cross Karkat's eyes Dave felt a chill of fear run down his spine. Much to the displeasure of the rather strong willed and stubborn Knight of Time, Dave Strider had found that he had a slight fear of this man, there was a bloodthirsty glint, a crazed mind, and a strange love for wanting Dave dead that made him cautious to Karkat's movements, the slight concern that enveloped the captors voice through off all of Dave's fears though," Oh you are awake. Does your head feel better?"
Dave sat up slowly from where he had rested his head on the horse and nodded slightly, ignoring the cruel shot of pain through his skull, "Yeah I do. Umm… I know being your captive I'm not really supposed to ask, but who exactly are you planning to bring me to?" Karkat winced slightly, thankfully going unnoticed by the man in front of him at the memory that he had to take Dave to the prince by law and have him sold. This idea didn't see as good as Karkat had originally thought.
"Well being a knight you should know that all prisoners must be taken to the prince to be dealt with. Surely this small amount of time hasn't dulled your memory." The light banter between the two that would usually calm anyone only served to tense the atmosphere further, Dave noticing how the trees seemed to huddle together even further to escape the moment the two knights had created. "Alright I don't really want to explain why you are riding my horse with me so for the next few feet you will have to walk. Will you be okay?" Dave blushed lightly as he realized how awkward this would be viewed by others and nodded slowly, reasoning that he could just push through the pain. Dammit all, he has felt worse in the past. He could do this no problem.
Karkat saw the light blush stain the pale human skin and was thankful for the gray troll skin he possessed that hid his own blush. Slowing the horse Karkat jumped down from the mighty steed and reached out his hand to help his captive down, completely aware of how intimate the situation had become.
Dave attempted to get down from the horse himself at first but soon found this rather difficult; reasoning that maybe a little help from Karkat wouldn't hurt. "Thank you, I guess you did hit me rather hard." Karkat tried to hide his emotion, suddenly missing the bite in Dave's words that kept him enraged at the Knight of Time as he climbed up on the horse, readying to leave when he realized something vital was missing from the scene, the reins of his horse. Karkat looked around confused for a minute until he heard a quiet snicker somewhere along the trees and sighed in defeat.
"Alright Nepeta you win this one, just get out here and give me the reins." Dave looked up questionably to the Knight of Blood.
"Nepeta?"
Karkat laughed slightly, "Surely you know of her, well at least by a different name. Stealer of jewels, thief on the road, known for her aid towards those not blessed into wealth and forced to work towards their status, like you and me. She is the Rogue of Heart, Nepeta Leijon."
