Disclaimer: Hey guys! I'm back with another awesome chapter Bitter Love. I might try to do a double update today so we'll see. Only two more chapters left! *wipes tear* It feels like yesterday I started this! But no worries! I have more ideas up my sleeve.
Oh and I forgot to mention this before. Kaito basically looked likes Koga from Inuyasha. The only different is he doesn't have wolf ears, he doesn't wield the Goraishi, he isn't a demon, and his armor is made up of wolf fur. He also has Koga's voice.
Kaya stood on the balcony of the castle in Shikoku. She was dressed in her simple purple kimono and her long black hair was hanging down, swaying with the wind. She still had on her traditional sandals.
"Why so alone, master?"
She looked to her right to see her best archer, Kaito, smirking at her. She chuckled and said, "I just need to collect my thoughts, Kaito. Nothing more."
Kaito nodded before walking to stand beside her. He rested his arms on the balcony before saying, "Master, what will you do when this war is over? When we can finally live in peace?"
Kaya shook her head and said, "I've never really thought about it."
"Have you considering having a family?" Kaito asked. "Ya know, since you and Lord Motochika are together now..."
Kaya blushed slightly before saying, "It's never crossed my mind before."
Kaito smiled at his blushing master before it left his face. "What will I do?"
"Kaito, what do you mean?" Kaya asked.
"When I was a little boy, I'd always dreamed about fighting to protect my country. It didn't matter whether I was a ninja, a warrior, an archer, a general. I wanted to be apart of something." Kaito told her. "Then Lord Nobunaga just so happened to come across my village. During that time, I didn't know what I was going to be so I trained in all the arts so I would be ready. He took me in and made me an archer in his army. Come on, even you've noticed archery is what I'm best at. Though I am pretty talented in the way of the ninja. Anyway, I'm off topic. I thought I was ready for anything that day. Turns out I wasn't. This is when you came in. You were like a goddess when it came to the skill of archery. Every target you shot at, you hit it dead center. I could only dream of having your skill. Lord Nobunaga soon made you a general, even if you were so young. He let you chose your own archery squad. I was beyond surprised when you picked me. You looked at me with such kindness that I was willing to be the leader of the squad when no one else would."
"Now that the war is coming to an end, I have nothing else to live for. War is what I grew up with. Archery is what I know. After I lose that, what will I have?" Kaito asked as he turned to me with confusion in his blue eyes.
"Kaito, I've known you for a long time." Kaya said as her purple eyes softened. "I know you're a strong and kind man. War won't hold you back from being at peace. Who knows?" She chuckled. "Maybe you'll find a woman."
Kaito stuttered as he looked away but his master didn't miss the blush on his face. "Let's not go too far master."
Kaya smiled at him and said jokingly, "Dismissed."
Kaito did a two finger salute and said, "See you later, master." He then jogged off somewhere.
Kaya was about to relax again but then a shout, "Lord Motochika! Lord Motochika!"
"That can't be good." Kaya sighed before running towards the war room.
When she arrived, she saw Motochika and Mitsuhide standing there with a grave look on their faces. She asked, "What is it?"
"The Tokugawa have formed an alliance with a majority of the Lords in the land." Motochika informed. "All who were loyal or at least somewhat loyal to Nobunaga."
Kaya pinched the bridge of her nose and said, "This isn't good."
"Do you think Lord Hideyoshi will side with Ieyasu?" Motochika asked.
"God only knows what goes through that man's head." Kaya shrugged.
Motochika only sighed before yelling, "Men, prepare for battle! The Confrontation at Anegawa is near!"
"Yes sir!"
Kaito dropped down in front of Kaya, successfully scaring the shit out of Mitsuhide and Motochika. Kaya, however, was used to it.
"Your command, master?" Kaito smirked at her.
Kaya smiled before taking on her serious tone. "Prepare every archer we have."
"As you wish." Kaito said before walking in to the room with the archers. "Men, prepare for...Baka! Get off your lazy ass and put down the damn sake! Prepare for battle!"
I laughed at that before running to my quarters to grab my armor. I quickly changed and grabbed my bow and a large quiver of arrows. I attached the quiver to my back and held my bow in my hand. I pulled on my boots and tied my hair up with a small string. I ran back to the room with the archers and stared them down. I could tell Mitsuhide and Motochika were watching me.
"Men, shut the hell up and listen!" I yelled. After all of my archers eyes were on me, I continued. "Thank you. Now we all know I'm not the kind for those shitty encouragement speeches so I'll keep it at these. Motochika and Mitsuhide are counting on us to support them and make sure we bring peace. So let's go out there, beat some ass, and live through it all! Who's with me?!"
"Aye!"
"That's what I like to hear." I smirked.
Victorious at Yamazaki, Motochika, Mitsuhide, and Kaya together formed the most powerful force in the land.
Their enemies, however, were overwhelming me in number. Soon they banded together under Ieyasu Tokugawa, and set out to punish Mitsuhide for betraying Nobunaga.
Gathered at Anegawa, the forces of Ieyasu clamored for Mitsuhide's blood.
Mitsuhide, still filled with doubt, nevertheless prepared for battle. Motochika watched with grim determination, ready to face his destiny.
Kaya held on to her hope, not ready to die just yet.
"It's now or never. I'm not about to die so easily! Please Mitsuhide, Motochika, live through this!"
"Chapter Five: Confrontation at Anegawa!"
"Come Tokugawa! Feel the claws of the Raven!"
The final battle is about to begin. What will happen to our three beloved heroes? Who will live? Who will die? You'll find all this out in the next chapter! Until next time, I'm out!
