A/N: Yay! I'm back and ready to go. This is going to be a short chapter, but I felt like this had to have a chapter of its own. Oh well, I'll make up for it :) Let's open that picture book...
Carrie Careless and the Galette des Rois
The red curtains part to reveal a happy scene. Four friends have gathered to celebrate Carrie's birthday.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" They shout happily to the birthday girl, big smiles on their young faces.
"Thanks guys!" Carrie grins at them.
"For your special day..." Says her best friend, dressed head to toe in lurid pink, "We made a Galette des Rois!" She gestures to the delicious-looking pie on the table.
Carrie looks confused. "What's that?"
"There's a coin in this pie... And if you eat the slice with the coin in it... Then you'll be a happy person!" She jumps up and down slightly.
"That sounds like fun!" Carrie says, smiling.
"Doesn't it?" Her friend runs off, coming back with a knife. "Okay, let's divide it up!" She cuts it up carefully, into perfect quarters. "Now pick the slice you want!"
"Let's eat!" They all grab a slice, and eat it, enjoying the deliciously sticky-sweet dessert. Suddenly Carrie cries out, making the others jump.
"Aah!" She puts a hand to her throat.
"What is it?" Her best friend asks, frowning in confusion.
"I think I just..." She coughs, "...swallowed something hard!"
"Ahaha! Oh Carrie!"
"It must have been the coin!" Another friend chips in. Carrie looks worried.
"What do I do...?"
Her peppy pink friend brushes it off. "It's fine, the coin's small!" Carrie relaxes slightly. "Well, I'll clean this up now!" The girl's pink hair bounces up and down as she picks up all of the plates and the knife, taking them into the kitchen, where her mother stands, looking worried, hand at her mouth. "What's wrong, mom?" She pipes up, confused.
"Have you seen the key to the study?" Her mother asks.
"To the study?" The girl grins. "It's always right here on this tabl..." She was cut off mid-sentence in surprise. "...Huh?" She stared at the small, round object on the table in the key's place. "It's the coin... The coin that should've... been put... in the pie..." As she stares, her mind puts two and two together. She turns around, staring back into the dining room where her friends are laughing together. "Could it be that..."
Her mother sighs worriedly. "Where could it have gone..." She looks left and right, before leaving the room, muttering, "Oh, my dear will be so upset..."
Her daughter stares after her. "What do I... do..." As she stares, the knife slips off of the plate and falls to the floor, clattering loudly, making her jump. She turns to stare at it, and that's when the idea hit...
Picking the blade up, she skips back to the dining room. "Looks like I was just as careless as Carrie..."
The curtains shut, and, after a brief pause, a series of shrieks and wet noises come from behind them. The noises stop, and then the girl with the viciously pink hair and wide grin peeks her head out from behind the red fabric, clutching in her stained hand something dripping scarlet...
"I found the keeey!" She squeals. "Now open the door!" She slips back behind the curtain, and the page becomes inanimate once more...
Wow. When I first saw this I was just like '...wut?'. It gives me shivers every time. Anyway, next chapter will be from Garry's POV! I will see you soon!
