CHAPTER 9
Gar didn't want to think of Tara. Yet, right now she seemed to be his happy place, especially when Raven was angry with him. He didn't really like people being angry at him because he didn't feel accepted when malice seemed to shoot at him. So, maybe Raven yelling at him made him feel like crap, and thinking of Tara's smiling face and bright beautiful blue eyes made him smile...brightly.
Raven looked taken aback by his smile. "Gar are you listening to me?!" crossing her arms she looked over to Toni who was weirded out as well by his smile when he was supposed to be looking intimidated, scared, anxious, and normal. Not like some creepy thriller character.
Gar stopped thinking of Tara, and focused on the two women standing before him. "Yeah, I'm fine. I'm sorry that I almost blew our cover!"
The authoress threw her hands up in exasperation. "We're back to where we started!" She shook her head and laughed dryly. "Gar, we've got to do something about what has happened! Such a nimrod!
Toni got up from the armchair and walked over to Raven. She gave Gar a sympathetic look before speaking to her client. "Raven, where were you when this happened?" She asked. "If I've deemed myself correct, you seemed to have been unreliable in the situation Gar was in. So, befoe you start to make him feel any worse than he already does, perhaps we should all think of a solutshun together." The author motioned her arms in a circle while giving the opposites a cheesy grin. "What'ya say?"
Raven shrugged.
Gar simply nodded in agreement.
"BUT," Toni prompted, "befoe we do such thing. I want you again, Gar, to tell me what happened."
Gar smiled gratefully at Toni, and therefore began to proceed what went down before the two women arrived.
"Okay, well I came home to find someone speaking to Kory. I didn't see them at first because I was peeking through the door. Seeing that it was Slade I walked down the hallway, - I think, turned a corner and called you, Rae. After hanging up with you I turn around to find Slade to have heard the whole thing. He tells me he heard everything I told you, and had it on a tape recorder. Confirming that our relationship is a fraud."
Gar stopped to take a deep breath before continuing on.
"After a beat does everythin' process in my mind that Slade Wilson is on to us, and has vital info that can be released to the public. So I grabbed for the recorder, and for many minutes a scuffle is happening between Slade and Me–"
"I," Raven corrected.
"Yeah yeah, anyway. He manages to punch me in the gut, all the air is out of my body for awhile; in pain. Because of that, Slade escapes and manages to take a elevator to the lobby. Recovering from the blow I run down the steps quickly to meet him there. Yet, he'd ran outside, and before I even touched the collar of his shirt. He's in a taxi."
"See, that proves to me how imbecilic you can be!"
"Raven, don't say that. If I'm correct Gar had relied on you to help him out when he called you, but guess who is careless in the situation? You are!" Toni sighed and looked between the two. "Do ya guys wanna call this quits?"
In all honesty, the New Zealander wanted to forget about this whole ordeal.
She wanted to be a loyal agent, she really and truly did. But when you get this piece of baloney in your job. It sucks. Who wouldn't want to quit this job? She actually thought her hair was beginning to fall out because of the extra load of stress that was on her.
Gar began to answer, "yeah–"
"It isn't over," Raven interjected. "We may be in a tough spot. But we're most certainly not done with our fraudulent relationship."
That could've been the most encouraging thing Rae could've ever had said to him, because Gar had regained some confidence, thinking things may just look up.
After Raven and Toni left, he thought to get ready for bed. It'd already been one hectic day that was already catching up with him. Brushing his hair a little after a shower, he looked at himself in the mirror and thought, I need to get a haircut soon.
Steve had always told him that he looked unkempt with scraggly hair, and that if he ever came to an important event of his–like today, that he made sure to get it cut. But Gar hadn't been thinking about getting a haircut before going to the picnic. So, maybe? When he'd shown up with his hair the same Steve was even more disappointed of him.
Go figure! Gar managed to disappoint two people in a day.

"Gar?" Kory had asked that morning when he'd woken up. "Are you and Raven 'the fake' dating?"
She was staring down at him from the side of the bed, where she was standing. Waiting for an answer.
Gar let out a false chuckle and sat up from his bed. "Kory you sound ridiculous, what makes you think that?"
The Tamaranian frowned. "I don't know Gar, it was probably a dream, but I remember discreetly someone saying you and Raven's relationship was the phoney of baloney. Is that the truth Gar?"
"No," he said with a relaxed composure. Even when inside he really just wanted to hightail it out of his bedroom, and not let Kory bombard him with such a question. He was grateful she'd been asleep in her bedroom when Raven and Toni came over. For she would've had her contradictions confirmed. "You were probably just dreaming. You've said you've been having these weird dreams anyway, and false deprivations have been adding on to the weirdness of your dreams."
He didn't know what he just said, but it supposedly made sense to Kory's ears because she nodded her head in genuine understanding. "That's it, Gar! Hm, because I even dreamed of that Glumgorph Richard!" She giggled and blushed."Well, the moon pancakes are on the table, along with Glorph Juice. Enjoy!"
With that, she immediately ran out the room to do whatever. Leaving Gar with a face expression of bemusement.
He needed to get ready for work.

Gar didn't feel good. His insides felt like they had been turned inside-out. He needed to sit down, Roy could speak with those customers.
Kory wasn't a horrible cook, she was pretty good, that's why she is competing on a cooking show. But today, those pancakes were rather... HORRIBLE! The Glorph juice made prune juice seem like a nice hearty sweet drink compared to it. What was Glorph juice even made of?
He didn't even want to know.
Before sitting down he needed to barf. After flushing the toilet he walked out the bathroom to find Roy red in the face with his arms crossed. He appeared to be talking a bit too comfortably to the two customers Gar had handed over to him to care of.
He was yelling at them.
"No, Oliver!" Roy said to a man with light hair and a beard. "You can't set me up on a blind date with that joke! She isn't royalty. More like classy trash she is!"
The blonde woman who stood beside Oliver laughed. "Roy, how do you know the difference between what trash and class is in a woman, when you've seemed to have tried all of the flavours."
"Good one Dinah," Oliver complimented with a knowing look. "Kudos to bringing up a theme in his life before he was cut off."
Dinah and Oliver then exchanged loving glances, and a fist bump.
Roy tried to keep his dignity. "She's still married, right? Besides, you can't make me go. I have to work."
"Don't you guys close early today?" Oliver asked looking over the shop. "I saw on the door that–"
"We've been meaning to change the schedule on the door."
Roy replying with that, Dinah then glanced at Gar who'd been standing at the checkout counter–trying to fathom who in the heck Roy was talking to. But then it occurred to him that Roy was talking to his former Guardians. Oliver and Dinah. A known power couple in Star City.
Roy never took the likes of having his personal life implored because it was all a mess really. Being cut off, having a possible unrequited love interest, being banned from Gotham and Star City, was a foster kid...
"Hey, are you the charge of this place?" Dinah enquired to Gar. "Because if ya are, you wouldn't mind us taking Roy from your company would you? It may be an hour or so before he comes back."
"We're closing in an hour or so today anyway," Gar said to them. "He has no need to come back."
Roy gave Gar the deadliest look he could hold, while Gar just smirked back at him. It was fun making his friend miserable at times. But what was the misery? Roy was going on a date - possibly - with a hot girl. Why was he so angry?
So, as Dinah and Oliver were scuffling Roy out the door along with themselves he could hear Roy saying, "I don't want to go on a date with Donna Troy! ... Uh! It isn't a blind date. Why do you keep on saying that?...my only option is Mia? You know we're like siblings!... Mwahhhh!"
After a little while, now in the cramped storage closet, sorting things out on the shelf. Gar felt a vibration coming from his pocket.
He saw that it was Kory who was calling. Maybe to apologize for making such disgusting pancakes. Yet, he was surprised when that wasn't the case.
"Gar?!" Kory exclaimed over the phone, "can you please pick me up?! I'm..."
There seemed to be a loud obnoxious crowd wherever Kory was because her voice was drowned out.
"Kory where are you?" Gar asked alertly. "You okay?!"
Her voice still drowned out, but he still managed to decipher a little of the sentence.
"Pick me up...Cafe... block away from your job, be–" Kory then abruptly hanging up.

Slade Wilson was ruthless towards Garfield Mark Logan AND Rachel Roth.
He didn't give a crap if the pair were to be seen as phoneys. All that mattered was that he was getting paid, and he was ruining lives.
So when he was the only man in a LONG time to ever work up enough courage to visit Director Devil during a shoot, it was something to be curious about alright.
The gory-themed movie set, and the fervour that reeked from everyone on set; from extras to rookie actors. Everything seemed hectic and out of sorts.
"We ran out of wigs!"
"I can't remember my lines?!"
"No, no. It's 'FOOD FIGHT!' Not, 'LET'S HAVE A FOOD FIGHT!"
When everyone saw Wilson some stopped what they were doing and just stared at him as he walked by. Curiosity and nervousness filled their whims. "What in the heck was this lunatic doing, interrupting our filming time?"
But really, it wasn't he who'd done such thing.
Director Devil was on fire today.
"You don't want to participate in the food fight scene, deary?!" He said in a threatful tone to an actress who appeared to have been a model as well. Her slim figure, and her face caked with make up hinting it all. "'Cause I could get ANY other slutty model other than you. Dunt care if you slept with me, if that was your way of getting this job!"
She teared up. "You don't get it, I'm allergic to peanut butter and–"
He didn't give her the time of day, he just waved her away and sat back wearily in his directing chair.
Slade Wilson slowly approached him from behind and spoke. "It's nice to see you still working."
Raven Roth's father didn't even have to turn around. He knew who it was.
"Slade, what brings you here? You know I have a movie to film."
The reporter shrugged, a careless grin on his face. "I'm not here to waste your time." He fished out the tape recorder that came from his satchel. "I'm here to talk about your daughter."
That peaked the director's interest.
Uh, oh.

Author's Note: Um, I might update very soon. This might not have been my strongest update. But obviously, there is some interesting things happening next chapter. Like, is Kory in trouble? Will Gar save her in time? Raven's father might damage her career... And Slade might be getting what he wants.
More to come!
Now to replying:
JasonVUK: Thank you for reviewing. I needed to show off Kory's strength somehow, and besides Richard can be so... Uh! Bratty and conniving. So, yeah, I'm being the BBRae shipper who is contributing to RobStar shippers as well. I think that is the deal. Right? If you're a BBRae shipper and you write fics, you have to have to be fair to Robstar shippers... Um, anyway, you have to figure out why Malchior is manipulative towards Raven, cuz as smart and observant Rae can be. She definitely doesn't show those traits around Malc. Again, thanks for the review.
Marcus Nightshade: Thank you, really, thank you for reviewing. Hopefully this isn't such a bad chapter. :) your review means a lot.
dj25taz: I updated. I didn't want you to wait forever. And I humbly thank you for reviewing. :)
AStudyinEsmeWho: Reed LOVES Motown and she jus' wanted me to make that the song Gar and Rae would sing. So, I'm glad you like the song as much as I probably do. Um, I like Robstar. So, yeah. Kory will most likely change Richard. Hopefully! Thank you for reviewing.
If I missed anyone, please tell me in a review. I didn't really mean to miss anyone. I like replying to reviews cuz that is how I show my thanks and gratitude. Um, anyway, I'll update sometime soon. I'm almost done with next chapter.
DG, out.
