69 ways #9 By Going Green
A/N: We're almost at the part where the story becomes M-Rated. Almost there. I don't know how people will react because it involves something that we all love very much but is very inappropriate at the same time... but we'll see how it goes, I guess.
Double post for the weekend! But that's mostly because I want to get to chapter fourteen faster. Next update should be a double post as well.
._.
By this point, almost everyone was well aware of treaty between the Noahs and the Order. The few exceptions were those it did not concern and Allen. Cross was grateful for this as he was certain that his apprentice would finally rebel against him should he learn of the pact. It was only a matter of time before he found out, though, leaving Cross feeling as though his days were numbered.
Therefore, he decided to delay that time for as long as he possibly could.
Plus he was bored and had nothing else to do. Because of what he had done to everyone, alcohol and prostitutes had been permanently banned from the Order and now with the current peace he was left bored out of his mind.
The best way he could solve his problems was to be extremely annoying. Cross noticed how strongly people reacted strongly to nuisances, but he then looked into what it was exactly that was bothering people lately and couldn't say he was too surprised.
It was the hippies.
The recycle everything, I-drive-an-environmentally-healthy-car, green, all organic and obnoxiously smug hippies were the problem here.
Cross understood that normal people didn't want to be shouted at every time they accidentally polluted the environment, but he also understood why the environmentalists got angry when others didn't heed to their warnings. It reminded him of all the times that he went to the bar to get a drink but was denied service. Although this comparison wasn't very good, what he was getting at was that he knew what it was like to have others ignore his requests.
You're too drunk, sir, they said. We can't serve you more than what you've already had.
You should go home, mister, they said. Bar's about to close.
But no, Cross wasn't going to stand for this any longer.
This was why Cross went green for the very first (and only) time in his life. It was something he could relate to and he figured it would be a fun way to exact his revenge on the Order for making everything boring. And Allen, but only because the kid had thrown away the key to the jail cell when he had been trying to escape.
Although-
To be honest, he wasn't sure how to do this.
What did it mean to go green?
To buy a certain type of car?
To recycle?
To refuse to drink from plastic water bottles?
He wasn't very certain how to become a hippie.
Being unfamiliar with that subculture, Cross interpreted the phrase "going green" quite literally. He had purchased a large quantity of green body paint and was currently applying it to his skin.* If this didn't work, he thought, then he was going to give up and call in the professionals. He was hoping that his efforts alone would suffice, but he was up against an entire organization plus his student. He might just have to bring in the hippies to make his plan succeed.
After the paint had dried and he had painted over his clothes as well, Cross went into the cafeteria during lunch where he was certain his student was. No one noticed the green guy walking over to the table against the wall where the utensils and napkins were. He didn't say anything to avoid drawing attention as he seized all of the available forks. He stuffed some into his pockets, greedily grabbing them by the bunches all for himself.
Chaozi Han approached the table for a fork, but when he saw that they had all been taken, he looked at Cross to ask if he could have one, but was given a sharp glare that spelled death.
Intimidated, Chaozi went away.
Cross (still glaring at the world) faced the rest of the cafeteria and looked over the tables to find his apprentice. He found his student sitting at a table with the bookman and the junior bookman, and without further ado...
He began to violently throw the plastic forks at his student.
"RECYCLE, DAMN IT!" he yelled at the top of his lungs.
"Ahhh!" Allen screamed in confusion. "What's going on?!"
Allen shielded his face from the projectiles and quickly stood from his seat to escape out the doors. The others at his table weren't disturbed from their meals at all, and took out newspapers to read impassively without worrying about the incoming forks.
Cross ran after his student as he continued to throw forks. He chased Allen out the doors and down the hallways until he eventually cornered him.
"Stop that!" Allen complained. "I swear, I recycle all the time!"
"That's not good enough!" Cross shouted as his student assumed fetal position on the floor with his arms covering his head. "You have to do better than just recycling."
He ran out of forks soon enough, but then he began to pick them up from the floor to reuse them.
As he did this, workers passed by without really noticing or caring that a strange man in green paint was pelting plastic forks at one of their exorcists.
"What is this world coming to," Cross sighed sadly as these people went by. "They don't even care about their environment."
"The one they don't care about would be you," Allen muttered.
"... No one cares about the environment," Cross repeated, pretending as though he didn't hear his student. "What is this world coming to."
"Please go away."
Cross continued to throw the forks at his student.
This went on for perhaps two or three more hours until Cross lost interest and went to remove the body paint. He decided that he didn't like being green after all; the smell was really bad and the coating was starting to itch. He would call in the hippies later. He wasn't very good at being one, but his plan to piss off everyone in the Order plus his student would go just as well if he brought in the professionals.

*Obviously Cross isn't wearing anything while he's applying the body paint. It was somewhat subtle, but there's your naked character for the chapter.
By the way, I'm in need of something to watch for when I'm writing chapters. I've been considering HunterxHunter and/or Sword Art Online, but are there any shows that you guys would personally recommend? It doesn't have to be anime. I'll take anything as long as it keeps me off of that blasted Dragons World app.
