Jack is Back

Author's Note: Surprise! I'm back! I survived my first year of college (barely) and am now back to writing this story. I actually think that this story is almost done, so there will probably only be one more chapter after this one. Thank you so much for following this. Enjoy!

Disclaimer: I own none of the MC characters and such.

Finally Home

Andy retrieved the spare key from behind a loose stone in the wall and unlocked is front door. Rusty had picked him up from the hospital and agreed to drop him off at his place without saying anything to Sharon. The kid had felt bad about ruining their last plans of a night in, and had offered to spend the night with Gus so Andy and Sharon could have a quiet night.

To say that Andy was excited would be an understatement. He had called the flower shop down the street and was waiting for a call confirming that his order was ready. While he waited, he set about preparing his mother's eggplant lasagna and a salad for later. He searched his house for a few minutes until he found the candlesticks and red table cloth that he had been looking for. Once everything was set and ready for dinner, Andy decided to make a run to the store to pick up Sharon's favorite wine. With her and Rusty staying at his place she could not have a glass of wine after work for the time being.

By the time he picked up the wine and some wine glasses, he had gotten a class about his flowers and decided to pick them up on his way home. As soon as he got to the shop and was shown the arrangement, he knew they were perfect for Sharon. There were a few calla lilies at the center with red roses between them and for some color blue orchids and greenery were added as well. It was a bouquet full of classic flowers that were elegant and unique together, just like Sharon.

As soon as he got home, the flowers wet straight into a vase and he decided to take a shower knowing that she would be home in a bit. He wanted to make this night special because of everything that had happened recently, and he would be damned if he did not get everything right for the woman he loved.

At the office…

Sharon had gotten a text from Andy telling her that he would be released later tonight and telling her that she could go back to his place for a shower and to relax for a bit because he wouldn't be ready until around 7. She told him that she didn't mind coming to the hospital to wait with him, but he insisted that she go back home and enjoy some down time. She had spent every minute of her time at the hospital since the day he was injured, so it would be nice to be able to feel refreshed for when it was time to get him.

Her and the team had wrapped up the Pierce case the day after the shooting and Chief Taylor had her condo cleared of all bugs the next day. She had already gotten a call from the crime scene techs to say that her place should be ready by tomorrow morning, and Andy was coming home today. As far as Sharon was concerned, this was one of the best days she had had in a while. Of course, since the day was going so well she was waiting for the other shoe to drop, and it did.

Provenza knocked on her door frame to get her attention, "Uhhh, Captain?"

"Yes, Lieutenant?" she replied closing the file on her desk.

"Mike just informed me that he just passed Jack by the elevators," Provenza said grumpily, "Do you want us to have him escorted out?"

Sighing, Sharon stood up and walked out into the Murder Room, "I'll see what he wants, and then depending on what he has to say…I may take you up on that offer, Lieutenant."

"Of course, Captain," Louie said before turning just in time to see Jack enter the room.

"Louie," Jack acknowledged before coming to stand in front of Sharon.

"How can we help you, Jack?" Sharon said, cutting through the BS and getting straight to the point.

"I actually came to help you," he said while setting his briefcase on a nearby desk.

Snapping open the lid, Jack opened the briefcase to reveal 7 or 8 envelopes similar to the ones that started this whole mess. They were all still sealed and appeared to be untouched. He took them out and handed them to her.

"These are all of the photos that Pierce gave me," Jack said, "I haven't opened them yet, so I have no clue what they show…but I figured you would want them for evidence or whatever else."

Sharon smiled as she took the envelopes from her ex-husband, "Thank you, Jack."

Jack shrugged, "I figured it was the least I could do after everything that happened."

Louie looked between the Captain and Jack as if they each had grown another head. How were they being so civil with each other? The Captain he understood, but Jack was another story entirely. He assumed that they must have come to an understanding the last time they talked and decided to investigate it later.

"I need to get going, but I just wanted to make sure that you got these," Jack finished before leaving the Murder Room without another word.

Sharon watched as he left and could not help but laugh at the look of pure confusion on Provenza's face.

"Are we in the Twilight Zone now?" he shouted as he looked at his colleagues, who were equally unsettled.

"No, Lieutenant," Sharon giggled, "Jack and I have just reached an understanding. Now, if you all would excuse me, it is time for me to go home, and all of you should too."

Sharon left the building a few minutes later with her keys and bag in hand. She quickly got to her car before messaging Andy that she was headed to his place and would see him soon. He responded instantly and said that he would see her when she got to the hospital and to enjoy some free time. She smiled down at her phone as she thought about his situation. He was the one in the hospital and yet he was still taking care of her.

As she pulled into Andy's driveway, Sharon took her time getting all of her stuff out of her car. She emptied the passenger seat of her coffee mug and her coats so that she didn't have to worry about it later when she went to pick up Andy. Making sure there wasn't any trash lying around, Sharon shut her door locked the car, and headed up to the front door. Just as she was about to put her key in the door, it opened to reveal Andy standing in jeans and a grey t-shirt.

"Andy?" she gasped, "What are you doing here?"

"Well, this is my house," he chuckled.

She glared at him before walking through the entrance to put her stuff down on the entry way table.

"I mean," she smiled, "What are you doing home from the hospital? And how long have you been home?"

"I was discharged this morning and I asked Rusty to pick me up without telling you so I could surprise you," he said while bringing her in close to him.

"You are very sneaky, Lieutenant," she giggled as he began to tickle her sides.

"I like keeping you on your toes," he smirked as she snorted after a particular hard laugh.

After catching her breath and placing a light kiss on his nose, she looked at him seriously, "As much as I appreciate the surprise, please don't let me thin that you are still in the hospital next time."

"Yes, Ma'am," he mock saluted, only to be smacked in the chest as she made her way further into the house.

He waited for her to notice the flowers, and as if on cue, her loud gasp had him smiling like a fool.

"Do you like them?" he asked while rubbing the back of his neck with his hand.

"Oh my gosh, Andy… I love them! They are beautiful!"

"I'm glad you like them," he walked up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist.

He began lightly kissing her neck as she leaned back into his strong embrace. She would occasionally let out a hum and Andy would squeeze her tighter to him. He started to turn her in his embrace to have access to her lips, and she let herself go. After everything that had happened in the past few weeks, they deserved this. He picked her up and helped her up onto the kitchen counter. Before they could go any further Andy pulled away.

"As much as I would love to continue," he panted, "I think we should wait until we aren't emotionally haywire… Plus, I was not cleared for strenuous activity."

Sharon laughed and placed another kiss on his lips, "You're right, but I promise you that we will revisit this particular activity when you are cleared."

"Really?" both of his eyebrows shot up as he looked at his girlfriend in disbelief.

"Yes," she bit her lip, "I want to have a relationship with you, Andy, and that might be the next step."

Smiling down at her, Andy picked her up off the counter and just hugged her.

"You do know that I can wait, right Sharon?" he asked, wanting to make sure that he was not rushing her into anything.

"I know," she grabbed his hand, "But maybe we don't have to wait that long."

Andy was over the moon after that conversation with Sharon and dinner went by in a blur. He remembers her saying that it was delicious and he knows that they laughed and talked throughout their meal, but he could not help but think about getting his clearance from the doctor. He had excused himself earlier to draw a bath for her and made sure that when he came back into the room she had a full glass of wine.

"Are you trying to get me drunk?" she joked.

"As amusing as that would be, no," he grabbed her wine glass and led her into the bathroom, "I want you to relax and enjoy yourself. You have cared for me for the past week and it is time for me to repay the favor."

There were tears in her eyes when she turned around to kiss him.

"I can't believe you did all of this," she choked, "The flowers, dinner, this bath…You also bought me wine and glasses."

They both laughed at the last part.

"I would do all of that and more for you every day if you would let me," he whispered before pushing her towards the tub, "Now, hop in and relax while I grab your pajamas and a towel for you."

As soon as he was gone, Sharon stripped down and quickly got into the hot water. She let the steam and heat relax every aching muscle in her body as she settled herself into a comfortable position. She had her wine in one hand and just enjoyed everything that her boyfriend had done for her. She hadn't been able to call somebody her boyfriend in decades, and she had definitely never been treated like this before just for the fun of it.

As she dozed off in the hot water, she heard a knock on the door and beckoned Andy in. He placed the towel and pajamas on the toilet before placing a kiss on top of her head. He was careful to keep his eyes closed so he wouldn't see anything beneath the bubbles and water, which made Sharon blush. He took her empty wine glass and left her to dry off and get dressed. Once she was out of the tub, she brushed her teeth and finished her nightly routine. By the time she was done, Andy was also ready for bed and was waiting for her in the living room.

"Were you sleeping in my room? Or one of the guest rooms?" Andy asked from his spot on his favorite armchair.

Sharon joined him and sat on his lap, snuggling into his chest and inhaling his intoxicating scent. He no longer smelled of antiseptic and hospital, so he must have showered and she was grateful for that.

"I took your room," she said softly into his chest.

"Ok," he smiled to himself as he thought about her in his bed, "I just need to grab a pillow out of my room and then it is all yours again."

"What?" she sat up quickly to look at him.

"You can have my room and I can take the other guest room," he said as if it were the easiest thing to understand.

"I am not going to kick you out of your own bed, especially now that you are home form the hospital!" she said, shocked by his reasoning.

"Sharon, you are obviously comfortable in my bed, and I am not going to kick you out of it when I am the one who told you to stay here," he replied.

They both stared at each other, gauging the other's reaction. Neither of them would budge on their reasons for wanting the other to sleep in the bed, so Sharon being the problem solver that she is came up with a solution.

"Come on," she said as she got off of him and offered him her hand.

"What are you doing?" he asked, thoroughly confused.

"You'll see," she led them into Andy's room and turned on the bedside lamp, "Which side do you sleep on?"

"What?" he stuttered.

Smiling at the adorable look on his face, she repeated her question.

"I-I uh…I sleep on the left side," he said with a hint of trepidation in his voice.

"Perfect!" she said before climbing onto the bed and crawling under the covers on the right side of the bed.

"Uh, Sharon…I'm still lost," he said, not believing his eyes.

"Andy," she turned onto her side to look at him, "Just get into the bed with me."

Andy stood there for a few seconds before he finally decided to go for it and just get into the bed. He was originally going to hang onto the side of the bed, but he decided to take a chance and put his arms around Sharon. Almost immediately she snuggled into his arms with her back to his chest and her arms resting on top of his.

"Goodnight, Andy," she whispered.

"Goodnight, Sharon," Andy responded before placing a kiss to the top of her head and then turning off the lamp.

Soon they were both fast asleep and dreaming of what tomorrow would hold.
