Chapter 9
Malibu House (Liam's)
The day had gone by without any hiccups. Liam and Steffy arrived back at the house Bill had bought for Liam and being the ever so caring gentle man Liam had helped Steffy inside and out of the wheelchair onto the couch where she had stayed for the rest of the day, resting!
It was early hours the next day when Liam awoke to mumbling beside him. Rolling over he saw Steffy beside him, asleep but she was restless and he instantly knew she must have been having a bad dream. Gently he reached over and stroked her hair as her eyes flew open and she sat upright so fast she whimpered in pain from her ribs.
'Hey, hey, its ok your safe...' Liam whispered as Steffy turned her head and looked at him before sighing and slowly, and now sorely lying back down beside him, pain evident on her face.
'Do you want me to get you some pain killers?' he asked as Steffy nodded a 'thank you' watching him climb out of bed and disappear from the room, appearing minutes later with some pills and a glass of water as he climbed on the bed and handed them to Steffy.
After watching Steffy take the pills and wash them down with some water he climbed back under the sheets and turned on his side so he could see her. 'What were you dreaming about?'
Steffy sighed. 'Hope, the accident, losing the baby,' her voice fell to a whisper as she craned her head and looked at him, clearly the nightmare had got to her. Moving over so he was right next to the beautiful brunette he rested one arm under her head and let her snuggle in close to him.
'I never thought we'd ever be doing this again, ever I mean... that day you came home and told me you were leaving and to go and be with Hope I...'
'I know,' Steffy whispered sadly. 'That was the definitely the most... awful day of my life apart from finding out we'd lost little Aspen and finding out I would never conceive again.' Steffy snuggled as far into Liam as she could get as if she was about to lost him all over again.
'You were happy though? Weren't you?' Steffy questioned the man she loved as Liam sighed and drew circles around her arm.
'I thought I was and... I tried to be and I tried to forget but... something, some place, someone always reminded me of you, especially Hope'
'I'm sorry I didn't tell you about the baby sooner Liam I... I didn't know how,'
'It's ok... I'm just glad you came back and told me in person and I want you to know this now. I'm not back with you just because of the baby ok I... I love you, Steffy and I don't want to have to live without you again,'
'What about Hope?' Steffy asked as Liam hugged the brunette close.
'I'll always love Hope but, I'm starting to see now that if we were meant to be then nothing, or no one would've been able to come between us and... Hope doesn't talk through issues like you do, she... she doesn't try and get the facts before making a decision she just... runs,'
Steffy looked up at Liam who was looking directly at her, leaning up she kissed him sweetly as he gently kissed her back.
'I love you too,' Steffy replied, resting her head back on his chest and closing her eyes, finally letting herself drift back off to sleep, peacefully in Liam's loving arms.
Quinn Artisan Warehouse
Wyatt awoke the next morning, rolling over and seeing the space beside him empty. Sitting up he looked around the room. 'Hope?' he called.
Getting out of bed he slipped on a pair of boxer shorts and exited the bedroom into the lounge where he saw Hope sitting on the couch, staring at a muted television of a report with Hope's picture centred with big red writing saying 'WANTED'
'Hope!' Wyatt spoke again as Hope turned and looked at him. 'What's going on? Why are you wanted by the police?'
Hope sighed before turning the television off and sitting the remote down on the coffee table in front of her. 'You'd better come and sit down...' she exclaimed, a single tear rolling down her cheek.
Katie's House
She entered her lounge room after just putting her son to bed, he'd had a very early day at day care playing with all his new baby friends. But at least he was sleeping well, even if his dad wasn't around much anymore.
Walking over to the fire place she stood in front of the mantel and stared at a picture of herself and Bill with Will just after he was born, those were happier times, before she was diagnosed with post partum depression and took off and...
Well there was no point thinking about Bill and Brooke because that was happening much to Katie's disgust. Katie sighed as she heard a knock at the door, checking the watch on her wrist she frowned at the time, wondering who could be at her doorstep at 8 in the morning. Yeah sire Katie had been to work with Will already and was already back home, but most people never came to her house this early because they knew Katie was either at work or Will was in bed so Katie would be too.
Walking over to the front door she pulled it open, expecting to see Bill or Brooke standing there wanting her to listen to their side of their stories and put all the blame on Katie. Ready to fire harsh words Katie was stunned, mouth dropping open as she saw Ridge standing there.
Ridge Forrester was standing at her front door step.
'Ridge... what... what are you doing here?'
'I thought you should hear this from me, the media knows about Brooke and Bill and... I'm divorcing Brooke!'
'Wh... WHAT?'
